The 14 Best Bars In Amsterdam

"Not too far from the sprawl of Albert Cuypmarkt, this wine bar was named after the sound one makes while swilling a glass of particularly light vin. The corner spot, plastered with posters of bottles, is completely focused on natural wines. Sure, you can get ‘em funky, but you’re better off just asking for whatever happens to suit the weather, whether you’re sipping under the sidewalk canopy strung with garden lights or along the indoor ledge seats as it pours. " - paolo espanola

"This stop is an especially valuable recommendation if you're visiting Amsterdam in the cold winter, as the cozy interior is a pretty perfect place to warm up from the cold with a glass of wine. Stop by in the early evening to pick up a bottle of wine from their shop for dinner, or come after dinner for a more bar-like feel (they're open until midnight most nights)."

Google
A perfect spot for natural wine lovers! We were visiting Amsterdam for the weekend, and decided to stop by this cute little spot and ended up staying for a couple of glasses. The menu was very interesting, and we were allowed to try some samples off the menu before having a glass. This made the overall experience more inviting & less daunting! Also the interior (and the toilets) are all decorated in a very cute kitschy way.

The atmosphere is nice. We had a charcuterie plate and a cheese plate. It was delicious. We also had two white wines. We went around 7pm on a weekend and it was full.

Google
Really fun concept with the chance to try a lot of unique wines. Easy to order, good staff, nice location. We tried a bubbly red and a memorable orange wine. This corner is a great one too with pizza and gelato too on the other sides!

Google
Corner spot 😊 with plenty of outdoor seating weather permitting, which wasn’t yesterday. Although there were some hearty souls sitting outside. It’s a busy place with 20-25 seats including the bar so expect a wait during the obvious busy times. My wait was about 5- 10 minutes at the bar before a table opened up, so not too bad and that was Saturday afternoon around 4:30. I’m sure it’s much busier later on. The space itself is welcoming, warm, weathered and dark considering windows on two sides. Included are many posters on the walls and a chalkboard menu. It kind of reminds me of a brown café. It is a natural Wine Bar so be prepared for that. If you haven’t tasted natural wine, you will notice there is a different flavor profile compared to the more traditional wine methods. They typically are more sour, like a cider and can be a little effervescent, and not as complex as most traditional wines. Honestly, I’m not a big fan because they are much less complex and interesting compared to traditional wine. But of course there are exceptions. Other than wines, they offer beers on tap and a simple food menu of bread, cheeses, rilletes. Friendly, efficient service as well. It’s a nice neighborhood wine bar, just not in my neighborhood but I would return for beer and food. Short video below. That’s all for now.

Google
Great place which is always busy with crowd of happy people both inside and outside. Never disappointing selection of natural wines by glass. You can also buy a bottle to go with a discount of 15Eur off the menu price. Snacks are easy and delicious. Sourdough bread which comes with many dishes is great. Highly recommended both for natural wines lovers as well as anyone who is looking for a wine bar with good vibes and friendly staff.

Had the burgundy snails aka escargots, which was very tasty, making me recall nice memories when I first had snails in Paris decades ago. It was served with really nice crusty bread. I received a carafe of water free of charge, something you don't often get these days. Very pleasant staff, nice sunny terrace. I'll definitely return for more snails (and a beer or two - see photo)

Yelp
Place is nice. Good wine, I particularly appreciated their Anjou. The service is good and efficient !

Yelp
So cute without being snooty. I see what the fuss is about. Come here for a patio hang out or hide from the rain inside. Casual enough for friends, nice enough for a first date or two, they have snacks for the hungry and there's Massimo Gelato right across the streets. The servers know their shit and also they are generous about giving you tastes if you're not sure about what to order. It does get packed so try to get there early for a table. A gezellig experience! Will be back.

Yelp
It's been two months since I've been here but I talk about it with my husband atleast twice a week. Glouglou was literally the perfect stop on our trip to Amsterdam in search of natural wines. Every glass was delicious and our charcuterie plate was delectable. The weather was perfect to sit outside on the quiet street. We miss you glouglou, but thank you for existing!

Yelp
I do love a good glass of wine, red, white or blush. I'm not too fussy!! This little corner wine bar is as cute as they come, a perfect addition to my neighbourhood. And since we've finally been blessed with a late summer, everyone seems to be coming out of the woodwork to enjoy the rays and copious amounts of wine! So in comes GlouGlou, perfect little spot for a splash of vino! They have copious amounts of seats outside for all the guests and a bunch of them inside too. Service is usually pretty great, depending on how busy they are. But they are always very thoughtful and kind, even when very very busy! If you're going for some bubbly, do choose the blush one, it's quite delightful to sip on and to look at! And if you're feeling peckish, the cheese board is incredible (and tasty) and cheap! Unfortunately these guys don't take bookings but it just means you'll have to drag yourself here sooner rather than later to get a seat!

Yelp
Nice bar in De Pijp. Quite hypsteric. Very pleasant location. When weather is not terrible you can sit and lounge outside even though the terrace on the sidewalk is quite cramped with too many tables. Good beer. Did not try any food as my preferred pizza place is just across the street. Pleasant service.

Yelp
This was our first stop in Amsterdam. Dating a big time wine drinker, it's my job to find the spots for her to drink. First stop was Glouglou. This place was perfect, the staff was super friendly and gave us a few to taste before selecting. We also had a nice cheese board with bread to pair with our wines. It was a perfect way to start Amsterdam.

Yelp
What a fantastic find. a stone throw away from my house and i am in a gezellig atmosphere. g\Great selections, fantastic service by Romie (i am sure i am butchering her name) i can't keep this little secret all to myself, i must share with friends. Prices are very reasonable, will so enjoy my bottle of "Le cese" with friends for dinner this weekend.

Yelp
Very cute wine bar/wine shop in the Pijp with outdoor seating. Its small place, so if you want to be seated, make sure you arrive a bit early since they don't accept reservations. They offer cold cuts and olives, escargot and cheese plate for the wine enthusiasts. Prices are affordable between 4 - 8 euro per glass or the most expensive bottle is 45 euro. Service is friendly, attentive and efficient. A bit on the loud side.

Yelp
Cozy little neighborhood wine bar. Great outdoor seating on a nice corner. The interior is cool. It feels homey. The wine selection isn't totally to my liking but the owner admitted he's still learning. It's relaxed but sort of a pearl-earring type crowd here so far. Either way, once you have a glass of wine in your hand and some sunshine on your face outside, everything is good. :)

Yelp
A local wine bar in Amsterdam. Organic wine which is mostly sustainable in a packed bar filled with locals. The wine was actually a very delicious their menu is small perfect for a happy hour type of setting. The service at First with little intimidating because we weren't sure if we needed to go up to the bar but if you sat at a table you actually did have table service. It was really overwhelming we packed and so our server was struggling to keep up with all the tables which was visibly obvious and so we really could not get upset about it. We didn't want to be the typical American that seemed impatient or rude so we just enjoy the ambience. If you're visiting Amsterdam and looking for something with a local Flair check this place out. They do have outdoor seating and make sure you get here at a decent time because even on a weekday this place was filled!

Yelp
Great cozy place to grab a glass of natural wine. The meat and cheese platter was excellent. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We will be returning.

Yelp
GlouGlou is one of my best discoveries lately. Slightly hidden behind the Oranjekerk, in the heart of de Pijp, Glouglou surprises you with its simplicity, wine menu and friendliness. When you're there, it almost feels you are abroad, say in France, because the low pace atmosphere really slows down the hectic Amsterdam. For a while at least. The service scores high, since they take time to get you the best wine that matches your taste preferences. We could try 5 different red wines until we found 'the right one'. I recommend a wonderful velvety red called 'Bottleneck'. The interior is comfortably intimate, not getting too close to your 'neighbours'. However, I presume on the weekend, the layout and setting gives opportunity to interaction between tables as well, potentially leading to very interesting evenings ;) The place has a certain dosis of romance packed in Dutch "nuchterheid". Although, the romance definitely wins this time, intentionally or unintentionally. Love it!

Yelp
Nice winebar with very friendly service. The winebar has the look and feel of the typical bruin cafes (brown cafe) which you will find all over town. We ordered the riesling from the elzas and a cheese platter. Definitely will return again.

Yelp
Nice, cozy wine bar in De Pijp. Went with the staff's recommendation for an Orange wine made from Pinot Grigio that is unfined and unfiltered. I found the selection and quality of wines to be average for the price.

Yelp
A friend and here stumbled in here by accident after we were looking for a drink in de pijp and I was pleasantly surprised. So much beer in Amsterdam, sometimes wine bars are hard to come by. The server recommended a delicious and fruity red. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
My wife and I really enjoyed the food, wine and also relaxed vibe of this place. Our server, one of one, made an easy stride to making us feel comfortable on our first but definitely not last visit to this awesome place of simple, relaxed, chill and cozy sipping of wine. If six stars were available it would be anarchy. Saying that, I DO believe that for my wife and I, this place is perfect and I would love to be able to highlight this location for others to experience and hopefully enjoy as much as we did!

Yelp
Great wine bar with an interesting wine list and great atmosphere! Glouglou was very popular last week Thursday evening when we went, and understandably, the service at times reflected that. The snack list is VERY short and on the expensive side (16 euros for a cheese plate?!). Two stars for the food but four for everything else, even the spotty service, because the atmosphere was so good. There's loads of indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating as well if the sun every were to come out :/

Yelp
I love you Glouglou. Don't ever change. I will always come visit you, with your happy wine choices and delicious cheese. You are my home away from home.

Yelp
My favourite bar in Amsterdam. Lots of interesting sometimes funky (that's a good thing!) natural wine that you can't find in any other place. Knowledgeable and super friendly staff. Good snacks too.
