Excellent, authentic Mexican food and super friendly staff! 10/10, highly recommend. This is my go-to lunch spot during the week. The chicken mole and al pastor tacos are incredible!

I don’t live in Brooklyn, but I tried their food one night, and it was so good that I’ve been craving it ever since. Definitely a must-try! The store is run by the nicest, friendliest family—wishing them all the best!

The tacos are good but they are inconsistent. One day they have the next day they don’t. That right there made me just say forget it.

A gem under the BQE. Advertised as takeout, but dine in for peaceful feasting. Service couldn't be friendlier. See tacos al pastor, carnitas, and pollo. I'd try anything on the menu.

The best Mexican I've had in a long time. Though it's not the most picturesque setting, the food is excellent and served quickly. All I want is to be able to cook half as well.

Super tasty Cemita. Very authentic and packed with ingredients and flavor. Steak burrito is great too. Authentic, clean, quick Mexican food. Lots of flavor! Friendly family atmosphere, small shop with ont a few seats. Mexican treats, Jarritos, Agua Frescas. They deliver, good prices. I get lunch from here at least once or twice a month.

Every item is super overpriced. Not many options and food and juices are low quality (even by NYC bodega standards)

Not my favorite tacos in Brooklyn (there's Sunset Park after all), but in the restaurant desert between Fort Greene and Building 77, it's a nice option to have. Stopped in around lunchtime for some tacos. There was a guy cleaning the floors and tables. Not sure if they had just opened, but it was coming up on 1pm. Noticed he wasn't wearing a mask (actually, nobody working there was). Ordered three tacos - shrimp, al pastor, and steak. Got them all loaded with guac and everything. Took a lot longer than I expected - I assume some things were straight out of the fridge/freezer like the steak since it was on the colder side. The al pastor and shrimp were definitely my favorites. They also sell a limited amount of groceries, like hot sauce, tortillas, chicharrones, fruit, and some Mexican candy. They also sell rolls of toilet paper if you're in a pinch. No outdoor seating, so gotta walk and eat.

So while this neighborhood store transformed itself from a simple store-bodega to a bright cafeteria style eatery. It is clear the transformation has caused prices to go up. While i dont have a problem with paying, quality has to be under control, right along with taste and consistency. My torta had a thin, sliced like piece of chicken. Let me just say i forgot i was having a milanesa de pollo. The usual suspects were there, avocado, beans, pickled carrots was un expected but they were good. Sadly it left me unsatisfied and hungry. My buddy had the al pastor torta, not sure how it was. This is not how I remember this place, it used to so much better years ago.

We landed at GMC Temaxcal Deli after dinner plans fell through at a nearby joint, and I am really glad we stumbled across it. When looking here on Yelp we have scrolled past this place a few times, mostly because we thought it was just a bodega that had a little food in it. Inside, you see that this is a legit, albeit small, Mexican Food restaurant that happens to sell a few groceries. Prices are super low, nearly everything is made fresh in house, including tortillas. It's clean, tasty, and locally owned. What's not to love? We got a baby-sized Carne Asada burrito (comes with guac and all the fixings included), some Mole chicken enchiladas, a tamale, chips and guac (both homemade), and 3 Jarritos. Total came out to just $40 and we left stuffed with a doggy bag. This place is nestled on Park under the BQE so you may not notice it unless you live/work in the area, but it's close to the Navy Yard, and worth a trip if looking for something tasty in the area. I am trying not to use the word "authentic" when describing cuisine, but as somebody who grew up in Southern California and had access to Mexican food which is close to what you would actually find in Mexico, Temaxcal Deli seems about right. Check it out.

1. This place is not what it seems. I am so angry right now. First of all their online prices are purposely misleading to get customers to order. 2. When picked up the order it was significantly higher. 3. When I made them aware they seem to already know but didn't bother to tell me. 4. It's been like this over two years now and I'm sick of it. I am done buying anything from them. 5. My order was incomplete, missing 50% and so I explained to the cashier , Lady, and grumpy older man. The grumpy older man which I assume is the man in charge insulted me terribly in front of customers. I am so in disbelief , disappointed and disgusted of how they handled it. I didn't receive a refund just bad attitude. Horrible customer service. The best of business bureau should look into this place ASAP.

These guys are absolutely gods!!!!! The best delicious yummy nachos in the area !!!!!! Ask for one of evertyhing int he menu. i Have been coming here since 2016, as I am also a very afficainado of mexican food : 0

Where is my food ? I been waiting on the cold with my one year baby for one hour and half ago and no even Grubhub is helping me out to get my food or have a refund this is so unprofessional and a bad service and inhuman for my baby I will never order from this restaurant again.

Great burrito!! The chips didn't seem fresh but I heated them up in a pan and they were much better. Guac was just ok but their hot sauce was excellent. Would order again.

They are so authentic! Can't find a better Mexicans place around Forte Green/Navy Yard. Their fresh juices are legit! If you want real authentic Mexican food this is the place! Castro's and los Pollitos on Myrtle Ave or the Mexican place behind Chung Chungs is garbage I just wish they were open later on weekends they close at 6pm.

If I could I wouldn't even put 1star this place is terrible. Instead of making me feel comfortable and like a customer, they treated me like no human should be treated!! I ordered from them and half of my order was missing! So I called and the lady said ok no problem we will give you store credit when you come again, I said thank you no problem! I arrived the next day they were making my food and the lady said ok all set once I was walking out a old guy started saying "are you crazy you have to pay, you must be dumb or crazy" so I was speechless and did not want to start a conflict so I left the food and walked out, NEVER AGAIN IM STEPPING A FOOT IM THERE!!!!!

Mmm. It is surprisingly hard to find a good taco in NYC. But here, under the BQE overpass is a little shop with some tasty food. I tried the chicken and spicy pork tacos both on handmade tortillas. They came with cilantro, onion and guacamole on top and a few pickled cucumber and mild peppers on the side. There was also a green salsa. The meat was fresh and cooked well. The seasonings were great. There is also a good bike shop near by so if you need a tune up and a taco this is your spot!

Wow. I love this place. I ordered lunch here last week and I will be ordering again. Best chili relleno I've had on the East coast. What a great find for me, it's unfortunate my office is moving out of dumbo soon, because I won't be able to eat here regularly for much longer. Everything about this was so good. I got mine with a salad and tortillas as sides and it was a great choice because I didn't know if i wanted tacos or the plate. I ended up having both options. I just wish it was a tiny bit spicier. But I'm always looking for that with food, so I wouldn't say it took away from the quality. I loved it just the way it was. Is you are in Brooklyn heights area, check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

I order delivery for several people at the office and food was great!! I highly recommend the cemitas! (really tasty), we also order tortas, huaraches and tamales and got hibiscus and pineapple on the house. AMAZING!! will definitely order again from here!

I have lost track of how often I've ordered delivery from here on the days I work from home. Literally everything on the menu is amazing. The orders are always correct, warm, and quickly delivered. I've passed by but have never actually eaten inside. It's kind of a hole in the wall and seems a bit small, but charming! The tacos, the breakfast dishes, the horchata (!!!), EVERYTHING IS AWESOME.

Traveled out of our way to have some delicious carne asada tacos, carnita chorizo tacos, steak quesadilla, and mole poblano enchiladas with chicken with the owner's special spicy sauce. The son and father are very friendly/honest people. Has fresh ingredients and tasty food. Definitely coming back even though it was a bit far.

I have ordered from GMC Temaxcal a lot over the past few years on Seamless, the food is generally good, however that all changed last night. The food was terrible. The burrito was made with chicken, not pork, (how I ordered it), and the chicken in the torta was rock-hard, inedible. Maybe they had someone new cooking, i'm not sure. But when I called seamless to get refunded, the restaurant flat out refused, blamed it on me and said I would have to call them so we can get to the bottom of this. Absolute nonsense. I will never order from them again. You lost a loyal customer today, hope that $20 bucks you save was worth it.

This is a great delivery spot! I've ordered from here over 10 times and it's always filling and delicious. The fixings are fresh, the salsa is hot and everything is generous and well seasoned. I also like that the takeout containers are made of recyclable paper. A+

Love their tacos! We had the beef tacos, fish taco, shrimp taco and fried pepper taco. All fantastic!! Fresh and delicious. Especially like how they use only paper bag and paper to-go boxes when it comes to delivery. Love it!!

Probably the best Mexican restaurant in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill Area. Their tacos and tortas are amazing you can taste each ingredient within just one bite. Their fresh juices are also amazing, my favorite is the orange juice! Totally would recommend to check this place out!

This is my favorite place to order delivery and some of the best Mexican food in NYC. We've ordered it for parties too and friends always say the same. The service is awesome and the food is even better. They never disappoint. Also, the prices are great! Which makes me feel better about how often I order from here.

Yum yum yum!! Super authentic, cheap, delicious Mexican food! I had the taco flight and shrimp fajitas. The taco flight was by far the best, though the fajitas were delicious. My go-to Mexican delivery place!

Very authentic, and very low-key. I've always dined in since I work a 2 minute walk away and I've come here for lunch a couple times. Everything's made to order, and is ready relatively fast. I would say that the prices are a little steep. Paid $12 for a small plate of shrimp fajitas - I was a little disappointed by the portion. But the taste was great. They have some habañero pepper sauce at the tables.

Editing my review - I had originally given 1 Star as The food took roughly 3 hours to arrive (I live a 15 min walk away) The food was actually really good. 4.5 or 5 stars on the food - Similar to another Mexican deli I used to live very close to. The delivery was the issue - I called asked, etc they said a few minutes. I'll probably give them another shot because of the quality of the food. Previous delivery text is below Delivery literally never came and charged me. Do not order food from here! I ordered over two hours ago and I am still waiting, they do not answer my calls as well.

Great place . Humble lady. Opens early sunday morning. Witch is great bc my kids have sunday skool. Around the corner. Decided to bring my husband in . I was worried bc hes a picky eater. But turns out he loved it. Even orderd to go. I was also surprized with my choice of food. I orderd huevos rancheros . I got a big plate. Im very pleased. Deff coming back to try the rest of the menu.

I'm so glad this place is right down the street. Their menu is extensive (tacos, burritos, flautas, huaraches, quesadillas, pozole, tamales, and a variety of other platters), affordable, and it looks like everything coming out of the kitchen is quality stuff. The staff is also super friendly and welcoming, and they offer free delivery.

What can I say, its a hidden gem. No really, it is almost hidden, which is a shame because the food is bomb and the owners are super nice. My first time coming in here I needed a specific ingredient for something I was making then realized they served food too. What I noticed most though was for the 10 minutes I was there the phone was ringing off the hook with delivery orders, all spoken in Spanish. Once I heard that I knew this was going to be legit. As a Los Angeles native I will say not only is everything good quality (like white meat chicken without a bunch of grisel) but the prices are super reasonable and the owner brought me a cup of pudding once when they were out of the flan I wanted. No charge. I just love that kind of customer service, and I think this place will be around for a long time. Do note that this is more of a pick up or delivery type of place. There are very few tables inside.

Wow. Ok I admit I only had 1 thing 1 time. But this is perfection. Chile relleno torta. Standard deli bread with a very tasty egg battered poblano, soaked in red mild salsa, dressed with shredded lettuce, tomato, crema & pickled jalapeno. It's a proper battle between you, sandwich & the paper it's wrapped in. One in which you will surely come out the winner. $7 and will keep you fueled. Pure taste and, though a little hard to maintain, is well worth the struggle. Do not eat on the go or in a car. Have plenty of napkins. No additional hot sauce needed. A very necessary mexican injection that is hiding under the BQE. A gentrified version of this would surely be about $15 and would likely be at smorgasburg with a 30 minute line. Please support this place. 5/5

best chile relleno burrito in town i get mine with no rice extra beans it's massive but not super heavy chile relleno and cheese are super flavorful delivery is reliable and friendly i order at least once a week from them mouth is watering just thinking about that burrito

I had chips, guacamole and a camarones burrito-- delivered in under 30 minutes (thumbs up); it was very filling. I would describe the food as surfer burrito esq.

Wow real authentic mexican food located on park ave. If I can give it a 10 star I would. Real Mexican food made fresh when order. Castro's can't beat GMC homemade food 100% delicious and mouth watering making you want more. Price are reasonable and taste is out of this world. Will definitely continue on eating here.

I've past this place a million times and finally went inside just for the tacos and it's like my fourth day back in a row sooooo good! I've tried so far shrimp, spicy pork, and chicken. Definitely my new go to taco spot

Don't let the facade of this place scare you. Just had lunch at this little, authentic hole in the wall and it was a quick and delish meal. I had one carnitas and one steak taco. Both came dressed with onion, cilantro and guac with a side of lemon and radishes. Loved the salsas, too. The red one tasted like paprika and the tomatillo was tasty. Neither were too spicy. Yum and yum.

This place is a hidden gem! I live very close by and find myself ordering from here roughly 2-3 times a month. The tacos are always on point, and the burritos are MASSIVE. The service is amazing as well. It's family owned, and everyone is very sweet! A few times they even threw in some free plantains with my order. The hours tend to fluctuate slightly from day to day, just an FYI. But overall, I would highly recommend this place.

this place is AMAZING!! their food is authentic, inexpensive, and soooo good. i came late with my boyfriend and ordered a shrimp taco and he got a chile rellanos taco and omggg. definitely order the homemade tortilla, its a little extra but worth it! (i didnt know it was extra and said nevermind but they gave me one anyone and theyre super sweet and nice and really care about their customers. couldnt recommend more!

I must admit, I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I've lived a block away from this place for 7 months and never noticed it until today! I saw the Mexican flag flying on my way home tonight, and knew I had to check it out. My instincts were good - this place is awesome! It really is everything I've always dreamed of (I'll admit my dreams may be a bit strange). It combines an awesome little Mexican grocery store - well stocked with Mexican cheeses, produce, hot sauce, and other fine products - and an awesome little Mexican restaurant in the back. It reminds me of some of my favorite spots in California. The owners are from Puebla and are super-nice. And the food is delicious! I had a carnitas burrito, with extra rice and beans, chips, and fresh guacamole. Absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend this place, and I hope it flourishes!
