Go-Chin Khao Man Gai is a cozy Thai gem dishing out mouthwatering khao man gai with a twist, featuring everything from crispy chicken skin to tender pork belly.
"Go-Chin Khao Man Gai is a casual Thai spot directly across the street from Stuytown, and if you live within the fortress’s walls, it's a good place to know about the next time you don't feel like cooking. The restaurant specializes in Thai khao man gai served with ginger rice and a clear soup. You can also swap the standard poached chicken for fried chicken or pork belly. If you’ve never tried the traditional poached version, be our guest, but do know that the skin sometimes leans rubbery. (We've had more success with the pork belly.) Whichever way you go, consider the fritter-like chive fries with a golden-brown exterior that shatters under the weight of a single tooth, giving way to a soft, green-stained inside. photo credit: Go-Chin Khao Man Gai photo credit: Go-Chin Khao Man Gai photo credit: Willa Moore" - Willa Moore
