I ate at Go Chin Khao Man Gai and really enjoyed the experience. The food felt very authentic, simple, honest, and full of flavor. There isn’t a large menu, which actually adds to the charm and makes it feel focused and true to what they do best. 🫠 I ordered the fried chicken, and it was delicious: well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and very satisfying. Everything felt straightforward and comforting, without unnecessary extras. It’s also worth noting that there is seating inside, it’s not just the small space you see from the street, which makes it a nice option whether you’re grabbing a quick meal or sitting down to eat. Overall, a great spot for tasty, authentic food done simply and well.🤩

The classic khao man gai is delicious. I’d eat this everyday if I could. I especially love the dipping sauce that comes with it. My husband got the grilled chicken version and his sauce was even better. Highly recommend 10/10

I came here for one reason and one reason only, the Khao Soi Gai. It was a $19 but a price I am willing to pay for my favorite dish of all time. I first tried it at a restaurant called Thai Samurai but, they since removed the dish. I saw that this restaurant serves it and was gleefully making my way there. Once there, I ordered the dish with an "unfiltered ginger ale," which was delightful. When the dish arrived, it was a happy surprise that they made it traditional, meaning for the meat, I received a full chicken wing. Normally restaurants just gives you white chicken. There are times when I order this dish it is sour and not sweet and spicy, this dish was made with love and perfection. I left the restaurant in sadness of not knowing when I will have that dish again. So thank you all who work there.

I’m so happy I stumbled into this thai restaurant! It’s so simple and unique. The grilled chicken and fried pork belly with ginger rice was 10/10 for me. The flavors were there and paired with the tamarind sauce, I truly enjoyed every bite. The soup that comes with the meal is subtle and pairs well with the strong tamarind sauce taste. It is a small and authentic hole in the wall restaurant in Kips Bay. The servers are very caring and make sure you are comfortable. Will definitely be coming here again ☺️

This place is amazing!! Do not miss it!! My wife and I had the Khao Man Gai Tod and Crispy Shrimp Dumplings. Both were simple and flavorful! The staff was helpful and friendly. Again, if you’re thinking of going here - do it!! You won’t be disappointed.

Just went to Go-Chin Khao Man Gai, chicken skin insanely crispy 🤌, soft-cooked rice, sauces 🔥. Prices chill, staff super friendly! Everything looked great and tasted amazing! (But... I forgot to take a pic before I ate it 😅)

this is my fav spot! The chicken rice here is absolutely delicious tender, flavorful, and perfectly paired with their signature sauce. The fried chicken is super crispy yet juicy inside, and the portions are generous for the price.

Go stalk someone else’s review for that. The chicken rice? Straight-up legendary. Steamed chicken so soft and juicy it melts, fried chicken that’s crunchy perfection, and the soup hits different—pure comfort in a bowl. And the sauce? Bro, it slaps. No long essay needed. Just know it’s that good. Try it yourself before I clean out the place again.🤣🫣😱

I walked around East village area and found a restaurant that my friend recommended. As a Khao man gai lover, I highly recommend to eat at Go Chin I ordered Khao Man Gai PI-set (combo/Poached chicken & Fried Chicken (Gai Tod) and Grilled Chicken (Gai Yang) & Fried Pork Belly (Moo Tod) they come with ginger rice, sliced cucumbers, cilantro on the top, home made soup and sauce I also ordered Fried Chicken Skin, Shrimp Dumplings and Tom Zabb Pork ribs All the food was flavorful and mouthwatering. The potion was big and good to share with others on the table as I ordered a lot The staffs were very attentive and friendly welcoming and the atmosphere was comfy and comfortable Definitely come back next time

I was at this excellent new Thai spot recently on a Wednesday as I wanted a lighter comforting meal. They specialize, as per the name, in Khao Man/Mun Gai/; the Thai version of Hainanese chicken rice. I've had dish prior in a bunch of spots as well as in an old school spot in Chiang Mai and it's a tasty comforting dish. Along with the general poached variety, they also do a fried and grilled version as well as a few other dishes, such as some very tasty sounding noodles which I might get the next time. The staff was really friendly here and the place is small with room for maybe 10 people in most in back with most people it seems doing take out. I went as noted with the classic Khao Man Gai with poached chicken, ginger rice, cucumber, and cilantro all served with homemade soup and a signature soy bean sauce. The dish is normally $14 but I added liver which was an extra $2. The price is a bit higher than a few other places but hey it's Gramercy so expect it to be a bit more. The chicken was tender and excellent while the rice was notably better than many other places having a very strong ginger flavor. I find that many spots tone it down but not here which was very welcome. Speaking of not toning stuff down, their soy bean sauce is outstanding here and might be the highlight of the dish. It's quite strong with a good chili kick and was in short delicious. The soup on the side was good though I have preferred this soup elsewhere. The extra liver added was well cooked and tasty, though possibly not worth it for $2 more (I do wish it came with it like in Elmhurst.) It surprising to find a spot like this around here as the food here was authentically Thai and they pulled no punches with the spice level or flavors. Mid 4 for the area and I hope they do well.

Pretty affordable spot for a casual little meal! Everything together pictured came out to just over $40 (after tip). The meats were really juicy and paired well with the sauces provided, while the rice was fluffy and flavorful. I enjoyed the string beans and thought they were cooked to perfection. Only complaint here is the small serving sized Roti that left us with tons of leftover unusable sauce :( Good amount of seating in the restaurant and service was super attentive and friendly!

Recently I stopped by here, got shrimp dumplings and the khao man gai classic. I wanted to give it 2 and a half stars but can't. Shrimp dumplings - you can tell it's homemade, good shrimp flavor. The wonton is nice and thin, the filling is very plentiful. The sauce is pretty spicy if you dip it in there. Pretty good. Khao man gai (classic)- tender juicy chicken, the ginger rice is great if you have a vampire problem, you taste almost no ginger, tastes like a ton of garlic, felt like i was eating a clove of garlic. Overall meh. Overall: won't go back to. The Rice is nasty. There is better elsewhere.

If you're looking for a flavorful, and satisfying meal in Gramercy area, look no further than Go Chin Khao Man Gai! I recently picked up a few items and was impressed. First up, the Khao Man Gai Pi Set ($15.20) was absolutely delicious. It's a combo of steamed and fried chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy, perfectly paired with the aromatic rice cooked in chicken fat, and 3 different flavorful dipping sauces added just the right touch of heat and tang. The Shrimp Dumpling Soup ($12) was another standout. The dumplings were packed with a generous shrimp filling, and the broth was rich and comforting--just what you want on a chilly day. But the real surprise was the Chicken Skin ($9). Crispy, savory, and perfectly seasoned, these little bites of heaven were addictive. I couldn't stop nibbling on them between the other dishes! Overall, the quality and taste at Go Chin Khao Man Gai exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return. Highly recommend it for anyone craving delicious Thai-style chicken rice and more! 5 stars all the way!

We were walking toward EV to grab dinner but this restaurant all caught our eye and group of 4 decided to go in. I realized this was the old Proong Noodle Bar location. Inside still looks the same! I ordered the Pad Baa Mee (stir-fried yellow noodle) with Gai Yang (grilled chicken). I also tried the fried chicken skin appetizer. I also got a passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly, which sadly there was no decaffeinated option. Hope I'm able to sleep tonight! Pad Baa Mee was DELICIOUS. The chicken, the noodles, the sauce everything. Honestly, everything tasted good without the sauce but the sauce just added another dimension. I liked how flavorful both the noodles and chicken were. The chicken was so tender. Good portion, and good price for NYC. The fried chicken skin wasn't my cup of tea (it's oily..it's fried...) but my friends really enjoyed it. I loved my passion fruit green tea as well. It was really sweet though so I watered it down with my water. Five stars. Would definitely come back!!!!

New in the East Village! We just tried Go-chin Khao Man Gai, and wow--this place is a must-visit! Their old-school recipe for Khao Man Gai is incredible--juicy, tender poached chicken, perfectly seasoned ginger rice, and a soybean paste sauce that's out of this world. Plus, the homemade soup with pickled lemon adds that extra burst of flavor! Don't miss out on their crispy Khao Moo Tod (pork belly), and if you're a dumpling lover, their shrimp dumplings are homemade and absolutely divine. East Village just got tastier--Highly recommended! First of all the Staff was sooo sweet and kind Food was good especially the stream classic chicken was very very juicy And Fried chicken skin was so crispy would be the best with some seasoning Fried pork over rice can be better ginger sauce should be more intense to be more authenticity but I understand because of the location too I think But highly recommended because services is very friendly definitely will be back

Absolutely delicious! I was looking for good Khao Man Gai and I'm very happy to have found it! We ordered the classic Khao Man Gai, Khao Moo Tod (pork belly) and the Chive Fries! The Khao Man Gai was very good! The rice was flavorful and the sauce was great! My boyfriend really enjoyed the Pork Belly. The chive fries were a great starter! The sauce to dip them in was delicious! The service was quick and very nice! It's a cute, warm establishment with nice decor! I would highly recommend eating here :)

I ordered food from here for the first time, and it was great! The chicken was juicy, and the sauce had a bold ginger flavor that paired perfectly. Overall, the food was excellent, and the service was just as impressive. Viki, our server, was helpful and kind. Definitely worth checking out!

I ordered: - crispy chicken skin - shrimp wontons - Khao Man Gai Pi-Set (Steamed and Fried Chicken) - Khao Soi Gai - Thai Tea with coffee jelly - Roselle - coconut ice cream Super authentic place for Khao man gai. All the food was very fresh and flavorful. My favorite dishes were the classic Khao man Gai pi-set and the crispy chicken skin appetizer. The steam chicken was super tender and juicy with two different types of dipping sauces. The chicken skin was super crispy and the side of sweet Thai chili sauce really helped cut the grease. The Khao soi Gai had a lot of flavor with a mixed of pickled veggies, lemon on top, and chewy noodles that made the dish very enjoyable. Thai tea was also pretty strong and I enjoyed the chewiness from the coffee jelly. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would definitely be back again!

This is such a cute little hidden gem. We're in NY visiting this weekend, and I stumbled on this restaurant on TikTok. So decided to give it a try and surely it did not disappoint our group. We ordered the poached chicken with rice, the crispy pork belly with rice, the crispy fried chicken skin, the shrimp wonton soup, cucumber salad, sauteed string beans, and bokchoy. We loved it. The staff were so nice and they even gave us free coconut ice cream.

The food was great, very delicious, the chicken was nice and moist and crispy and the rice was flavorful. Very good i will eat again.

I put it in an order for takeout and received my food quickly. Delicious chicken, along with their rice and broth, such a hearty meal for cold weather. Will absolutely be back!
