Go Get Em Tiger - Santa Monica Review - Santa Monica - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Go Get Em Tiger is basically a full-blown chain now, with eight locations across the city (all of which have excellent wifi), but whenever we have a deadline that, oh we don’t know, has already passed, we head to their Santa Monica outpost. They’re located in a super-busy area filled with a bunch of trendy coffee shops, but Go Get Em Tiger rises above the rest due to their great coffee, menu filled with real foods like breakfast burritos and beet and lentil salads, and a cozy space with lots of room between tables." - Kat Hong

Ordered the summer squash bowl. The different flavors together were interesting, and it tasted great. My only complaint is that I added lox for $6, and they gave me a sliver.

Google
I used to love this place. Great little cafe on Montana to grab a drink and breakfast. First the service has declined. Second it’s now $30 for breakfast and a latte plus tip. Third they tell you to pickup your drink but will bring food (makes no sense). And the tables are never cleared and clean. Frankly, I think they could do better as they did before.oh and please stop burning the bacon…

Google
Everything is pricey, although it tastes pretty good. I was unimpressed by the drinks, especially the Chai Latte which was fairly flavorless, mostly just foamed milk with a hint of spices. I prefer a very strong Chai.

Google
The baristas were super friendly and suggested a variety of options. I really enjoyed the turmeric latte! It has no caffeine, but I added a shot of coffee because I wanted some, and it turned out so delicious—earthy and healthy! My friend had a fresh orange juice. The coffee shop had outlets and spaces to work with our laptops, which was a bonus. Parking was conveniently located right in front of the coffee shop. Although they close at 4 p.m. on Sundays, I’m so glad we went and discovered this unique drink. If you’re into healthy drinks, you must try the turmeric latte—10/10. Highly recommended!

Google
I never had a cold oatmeal overnight thing before and I really liked it w their cinnamon and fruits. Great coffee as well which is not to be taken for granted. Also four short strips of bacon. Ate at a table outside.

Google
I wish I could have liked this place. $7 Latte was not good. Very bitter. And the beans in the bean n cheese burrito were undercooked with this overpowering chipotle sauce inside. Sadly overpriced for taste and size

Google
This place has been a favorite a while!!! Their attention to detail is on point. Hand crafted beverages made with so much care! The seasonals are awesome. The single origin espresso is dialed in perfectly! The staff is so friendly!!! Will be back next time I’m in town.

Google
Cool Scandi decor vibe! Groovy music, but very LOUD! This is not a full service restaurant. You stand in line, place your order, pay with a credit card. This is a No Cash place. Limited free parking on the lot. Metered parking on the street. Bar stools only, unless you find a banquet seating where you have back support. I ordered the Protein Brekkie( $15) which took a long time to arrive but it was tasty, except I wanted some salt and pepper and this took time for the staff to get. I understand why. The place was busy. I might return to try a burrito or sandwich and sit outside, but for now, I think they need more staff and training for efficient service and to lower the sound music system. I'm glad I tried GGTT.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The breakfast sandwich Green eggs no ham is my favorite! so satisfying and delicious....great coffee too! The place is really clean and the staff is very friendly.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop with friendly staff and delicious looking pastries which I will have to try next time. At first glance, the avocado toast looked simple but it was a surprising flavor bomb. The GGET BLT was light and refreshing. Delicious fresh bread, perfectly toasted for both. Perfectly cooked bacon. Just the right ratio of crunchy lettuce and beautifully ripened tomato. Both dishes were light and refreshing. Exactly what we were looking for as an on the go lunch. Free sparkling water on tap is a nice touch.

Yelp
GGET is always a solid choice when in Santa Monica! This location doesn't offer oat milk (apparently it's due to ingredients in oat milk which I think is funny because they serve cow milk LOL). Their house made almond macadamia milk is a good alternative, though. I appreciate that they offer a vegan tofu, potato, bean burrito. It's very tasty! I also love their outdoor seating, even if the tables are a little wobbly as another reviewer pointed out. As with many coffee shops in the area, the staff aren't exactly friendly chatterboxes but it's fine. I know what I'm getting myself into when I come here. GGET staff recently unionized, and I am happy to support them, as they are the largest coffee union in LA! How cool is that?

Yelp
I love this GGET location, because it has the best vibes, lots of seating, and lots of great food. Of course, the coffee and other drinks are excellent, too! I've had the matcha latte and the Iced Almond Macadamia Latte and both were amazing. For brunch, I had the protein breakfast, which was really delicious and filling. Parking is on the street and can be challenging during certain times of the day. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Love the avocado toast and iced green tea! Great food and ambience! Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Service, food and ambiance all hit the spot. Loved how bright and inviting the space was, and the staff was really helpful and patient with my two little ones. I've always known the food and drinks to be great here but have only gone to the cramped Larchmont location before.

Yelp
Was excited to try a new coffee shop, and finally made a trip. Nothing about this coffee shop is worth a visit, in my opinion. Coffee itself is not good and not tasty, decaf is straight up sour and just not a good roast at all. Matcha latte is available only iced, and is premade with sweetener. Limited pastries, all looked very old and not fresh even though we stopped by in the morning. Chocolate tahini brownie was good and the only thing that looked fresh that day Outdoor seating has quite a few tables, all of which are wobbly and lack comfort. Overall, can't recommend this place at all. There are far better coffee shops with much better coffee in town.

Yelp
In the sea of coffee shops, GGTT is hands down the best cortado on Montana Ave. I love how attentive everyone is and how deeply they care for their craft. So so lucky can I walk here for my daily coffee ritual. Burritos are the sleeper item here. Great outdoor seating area and lots of seating options inside.

Yelp
Best coffee shop in Santa Monica! I love this place every time I come into town. This is where I go.. I got the business and pleasure... And the macadamia nut latte... And they were both excellent
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Best matcha ever! I love the home made almond macadamia milk. It's literally the best!

Yelp
Good but pricey coffee place in Santa Monica with a really weird name. Had to stop there. The barista was knowledgeable and helpful. I just drink coffee, nothing fancy, but I line a good 3rd wave roaster. The medium roast was good, but there was enough of a bite to it that I was looking for some Splenda or sugar. They don't have any. They are a syrup place. The simple syrup did the trick. My wife and I spent the morning there. It was a little noisy but we were able to carry on a nice conversation.
google avatar

Yelp
Always friendly staff with one of the best breakfast burritos around. Coffees are always delicious. Love their homemade almond/macadamia milk.

Yelp
Welcome Go Get 'Em Tiger to Montana Ave in Santa Monica! Another swell place for coffee in the neighborhood, directly across the street from Caffe Luxxe, within blocks of Pete's, Primo Passo, a couple Starbucks and breakfast spots with good coffee (Breakfast by Salt's Cure, R+D, Marmalade, etc.). This is the second branch in Santa Monica, the ninth or so across the county. The coffee is excellent. They offer single origin filter coffee in all of the usual versions. There's usually a couple of types to choose from every day. What I like the most here is the shiitake ginger congee, a savory rice porridge. There are very few places on the Westside that serve this dish, which is something I grew up on in the Eastside. The only decent version I've found on the Westside is at Moon House in Westwood/West LA, a traditional Chinese version. GGET's is a more modern version, faintly in the style of the awesome Porridge + Puffs (RIP) in Historic Filipinotown. It's got ginger, garlic, shiitakes, spinach, pickled radish, chive oil, fried onions, scallion and cilantro. There are other good things to eat here. The tarragon chicken salad sandwich is fine, as is the egg, avo and bacon burrito. This is one of the better breakfast burritos around. They used to offer some pretty good dips but those are now gone. This is a fine spot for coffee and a bite if you're in the area.

Yelp
This review is for the MURAL on the wall of the building. I tried to make a page specifically for the mural but somehow my Yelp review landed on the page for the Go Get Em Tiger coffee shop instead and I do not know how to change it. I have not been to the coffee shop. This is an incredible mural by artist and illustrator Stacey Rozich. It is super cute. It's on the corner of Montana and 10th Street and serves as the backdrop front patio for the Go Get Em Tiger coffee shop. The mural has a gray tile background. It features anthropomorphic animal characters. The characters have pops of blue and red. There is a bunny with a briefcase, a snake on a bicycle, and foxes with skateboards as well as many other characters. A really cute spot to snap a pic!! I spotted the mural on the way to my destination and did not get a chance to snap a pic for my Yelp friends. You can look up the mural on the. Go Get Em Tiger Website when you look up their Montana location.

Yelp
One of our favorite GGET locations. Easy parking, kind staff, cozy ambiance and their typical awesome beverages. This time we tried something new... Iced Honey Matcha Latte. It was DELICIOUS. I think we may have found our new favorite drink. The barista was kind enough to let us try it beforehand. Thank you and we'll be back!

Yelp
Go Get Em Tiger = gget For the record, there are two Yelp pages for gget, the other is gget Montana, while this page is gget Santa Monica so I'll be cautiously redundant and post my review on both pages but note it's the same business, same location. Located on Montana/9th, in Santa Monica and is the latest coffee/tea shop. Limited parking in their lot out front, indoor outdoor patio seating with umbrella shade, kid and dog friendly. The staff were efficient and informative, minimalist decor inside, ApplePay accepted. Lots of pastries, merchandise, snacks, global coffee beans and Grab and Go foods and drinks on display. Although there are multiple gget locations throughout SoCal, this was my first ever at a gget. I chose the most popular drink for this location: Iced Macadamia Almond Milk Latte. I wanted the largest size, equivalent to a Venti, but the largest size offered is equivalent to a grande :( and this grande size drink was about eight bucks. This drink is unsweetened so I had agave syrup added, the macadamia flavor was yummy, it was refreshing for a hot day in SoCal...but not enough of the caffeine kick I prefer. This drink was made with their sourced beans called Minor Monuments, which had a minor caffeine effect :( but perhaps less caffeine is what you prefer, it's worth a visit, try gget!

Yelp
GO GET EM TIGER is a consistent spot for me. Been to multiple locations and this place is just as solid as the other spots.

Yelp
The service was ok, the coffee didn't taste good, had burnt taste. It was morning and for some reason they ran out of big glasses. So, you pay for a regular cup of coffee and get small. Definitely not coming again.
google avatar

Connie S.

Yelp
First time there to get a cup of hot mocha on a cold day. Terrible tasting mocha. Tast more Iike warm milk and just a hint of chocolate syrup. Don't taste any chocolate at all. I ordered extra hot and it was lukewarm. $8 for this. Waste of money. The barista doesn't look too happy. Won't be back.

Harper K.

Yelp
Rarely write reviews (and neg ones at that). I just was flabbergasted- walked in and was greeted by nobody when I came to pick up my order. Quietly stood at the counter for a few minutes while two employees completely ignored me. The girl in front of me was furiously tapping on her iPad, so I just figured she was busy. I just politely stood there. She ended up just walking away without a word. (?!) Burrito was subpar- they need to add pico or something, bc it was dry and a bit flavorless. Sigh. Was hoping to like their food, as I usually drive all the way to chomp eatery to eat their amazing burritos.

Yelp
the coffee is not good especially not the matcha. loved the mural on the wall tho that was fire. food was pretty good . just go to cafe luxxe or la la land lol

Yelp
Great coffee and choice treats. This is one of the best of the Montana/Santa Monica area.

Alanna M.

Yelp
Wanted to go to Primo but it was closed so I went here. Asked for a iced macadamia latte and they gave me hot. No big deal. They replaced it with an iced version. But I don't get the hype. I can't taste the almond or macadamia nut whatsoever. Tastes like a regular, watered down latte. For $6.50 and considering this is their specialty drink...it was really tasteless. I don't even like sweet drinks, but if I'm getting a flavored latte, I want to taste the flavor.
google avatar

Travis R.

Yelp
Just had lunch here for the first time to check the place out. I like the simplicity of the space and the quality all seems good + free sparkling on tap. I had the congee and I would recommend it, however it should have been twice the size, especially for the price. With the egg and chicken + a $3 tip it was $25 and I was barely satiated. Had to head up the street for another meal to feel satisfied.

Sal T.

Yelp
The coffee was OK. In a caffeinated landscape of escapism without intent I think many a coffee shop forge ahead with marketing over substance. You can have a customized 800 foot square home kitchen with state of the art tools of the trade and the person in a 30 square foot kitchen is just a better cook hands down, a better baker hands down...I think Go Get Em Tiger falls victim to marketing over all else as does say Alfred's or Intelligentsia. They prosper because LA is a land of suckers. It just is. No one's fault. Hollywood vacuum, it just sucks peoples wallets up so easily. Bitcoin included. The people who work here are nice and all. But at the end of the day, do you want fantastic espresso or do you just go to places repeatedly because it's what you think you are suppose to do.
google avatar

Claire M.

Yelp
3/5 because no WiFi or accessible outlets for charging.. Planned to spend a few hours working here but these two points cut that very short. If these points get addressed/fixed, this would be a great spot. $5.50 for cold brew To go food available that looks good too

Yelp
In last two weeks I drove to restaurant to get a sandwich, both times they said there kitchen was closed because they didn't have anyone ! This was Wednesday at 12:10 pm

Yelp
Wow what a great huge open air space. So great for our Montana neighborhood! I walked in and was taken back by the cool minimalist vibe, the trendy & unique merchandise for sale from colorful logo sweatshirts, artisan made pottery, to pre packaged meals for grab and go in the fridge! I ordered the almond milk latte over ice, & the breakfast egg, bacon English muffin with no cheese. Oh my, it was perfection in texture & taste! The English justin was so fresh and not chewy or dense like a store bought one. I asked and it turns out they bake their own bread!!! Hello foodies reading this review... start running to this location! They took my order and handed me the cutest glass wear. (See pics) As well as a 80' & 90's baseball card for a table number. Loved how cute that idea was! It's a mix of Modern minimalist with 80s touches like the glassware art is very retro 80s. They have a huge outdoor space, with umbrellas & yes my large dog and I chilled. Enjoyed the people watching as well as the Free WiFi. Dog friendly. The food was delicious and high-quality. I was told they use local farmers for their greens and meats whenever possible. They believe in supporting small family farms. The Espresso I had was delicious but it was lighter and brighter mild more of a medium roast. So you may ask for a darker roast. Regardless it was delicious and the almond milk is also handmade. Everything they make is all in house and scratch made fresh. No preservatives in the nut milks. This is the only location that has the largest full menu selection and it's a test kitchen. As well as a new concept of eating at the bar when you walk in anyone can help you that is behind that bar which is nice. You can literally sit at the bar order your food have your coffee like would any other diner, bar or restaurant but most coffee shops don't have something like that so it's really cool. If you want a new place to hang out and just enjoy food coffee and service and have enough space to chill with your laptop and your dog you couldn't find a better spot. They have a full menu not just breakfast they have a host of other options from burritos to salads and sandwiches the host of things to choose from and I welcome your suggestions since it is a test kitchen for the rest of their locations. Also they have the largest kitchen test kitchen. . I really enjoyed my experience today and I know you will too!!! Go get them tiger!!!

Yelp
Lovely ambiance . Very clean and organize. Minimal style, but I like it so much. Great sit inside, also high top windows as well. Perfect if u meet someone or if u need to do some work with your laptop. Tons of light and people around. Barista was super friendly, happy and with a. Beautiful smile. Basically what u really need in a cold early morning. So, thanks for that. I got my coffee and it was very fresh and tasty. I saw few people ordered to go and some jimmy burrito's. On my next visit for sure. Great spot. Love it

Yelp
Been watching this project for a while and I'm so excited that they finally opened! I love this brand, from the design to the coffee, food, and swag! This location is sleek, modern, and bright. It's very hard inside so expect some noise during rush. Tons of seating with a million dollar sidewalk area with covered tables. The menu is obviously early / lunch, but they'll be open until 6pm when they're fully ramped up. Will this compete with Primo Passo, a few blocks down, Luxxe, or La La Land, a few up? I'd say there's room for all 4, but this is definitely the coolest brand. La La will get the Zoomers, PP will get the purists, Luxxe the locals, but gget will get the cyclists, tourists, mills, and it's definitely the most family friendly. Good luck and welcome to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Eddie V.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and really like this place. Workers are friendly, they are very dog friendly, and their coffee is good and their breakfast burrito with avocado and bacon is delicious. They are a welcome addition to Montana Ave.
google avatar

Caitlin C.

Yelp
I work nearby and it's become a regular stop for me most days. Their iced matcha is really good, it's premixed but you can still taste the quality of the matcha. I'm pretty picky and most of the spots on Montana either don't use quality matcha or don't prepare it correct, so I was so happy to find this as someone who can't have coffee. They also have gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options clearly labeled, and my partner says their coffee is hard to beat. There is a small parking lot and plenty of street parking, just look out for signs for street sweeping days. There is indoor and outdoor seating that is comfortable, plants that are well taken care of fill up the indoor space, cute merch for sale, and the staff is so nice and helpful!

Julie D.

Yelp
Notoriously amazing service. The best iced match in Santa Monica. The best scrambled eggs in Santa Monica. Amazing speaker system and great music. I go everyday and order 2 sides of soft scrambled eggs 2 sides of avocado and a side of toast with jam and butter. It's the next order
google avatar

Xiouping C.

Yelp
Bomb just Wished they had food at the other location in Santa Monica on Main Street. It's a trek to drive to Culver City and over Montana Avenue which is closer to Brentwood if they could only get a kitchen on main street like they used to have that would be great.
google avatar

Carey H.

Yelp
Great boutique coffee shop with full service food on Montana. The coffee is divine and the turmeric tea on the kids menu nourishes my stomach. highly recommend the unlimited drink club. Best value. The breakfast burrito is good too. Alway order ahead on the app as the wait can be a little as it's prepped fresh. Music is decent yet a little loud. I have a feeling the noise from the coffee being made is loud without it and they have nothing to absorb sound as all of the surfaces are concrete, etc.

David A.

Yelp
Great food. A little over priced but what else do you expect in Santa Monica? Friendly staff too!

Rocky B.

Yelp
This place sucks! Had the congee and a chicken salad and a shot glass of Orange juice $50 bucks for what! Are you serious! Here's the pictures NEVER AGAIN!
google avatar

Jess D.

Yelp
I was pretty excited for this place to open up but did not have a great first experience. For one thing they have tons of seating but they do not offer WiFi. The baristas were not friendly and they were actually kind of rude. After spending an hour there reading I decided to order a 2nd drink and when I went to order they told me they were closing... at 1:57pm? On a Sunday? Isn't that prime 2nd coffee time? I also learned that they close at 2pm so he was just not interested in doing his job which is unfortunate. So bummed about this experience because all of the other Go Get Em's are really pleasant and have friendly staff. I recommend trying La La Land or Bardona down the street for good coffee and friendlier staff.
google avatar

Nancy V.

Yelp
I wanted to try this place out since it's so close to my house. I normally go to another coffee shop down the street but I wanted to give this place a try. I ordered the Iced Almond Macadamia Latte. It wasn't anything special and it was very watered down. I was disappointed. I'm not giving it two stars because the ambiance is really nice and the decor is really cute. Maybe I'll go back and try another item, but this coffee wasn't it.
google avatar

Victoria A.

Yelp
Cute spot on the Montana strip in Santa Monica. Indoor and outdoor seating (seat yourself). Didn't have umbrellas outside, unclear if that's always the case or just the day I went but either way be prepared to sit in the sun if you're outdoors. It was busy when I went late morning but was still able to snag a table. Protein Brekkie was delicious & the perfect amount of food for a light but filling breakfast/brunch. Metered & street parking available. I would definitely come back
google avatar

Abby Z.

Yelp
Really good bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and coffee, would definitely go back

Robert K.

Yelp
Wow! GGET sells Flair58s, which I took to be a sign that the coffee would be great and it is. Had a latte and a cortado and both were excellent. Also found the food to be outstanding. We first tried the Persian Lentils and it was so good that we followed up with an order of the Congee. Will definitely be back.

Wulf W.

Yelp
Legitimatly the best coffee i've had since moving back to LA. Needed a latte to remind me of the Bay, and this one blew me out of the water. Julia created a work of art in a papercup, and the manager Cassandra may be the nicest person ever. My wife and I are permanent regulars now. The establishment also looked super cool.
google avatar

Joey M.

Yelp
Update! They fixed the aggressive morning music issue. Playing much more mellow acceptable music now and for that reason- BEST COFFEE SHOP IN LA!!! Great staff, great coffee, great clean establishment. Let's ride!
google avatar

Kelvin Y.

Yelp
My family and I dropped by for breakfast on a Sunday morning and were extremely happy with the service, food, and drinks! There's a parking lot (fits 3 cars) and some nice outdoor seating. The prices are what you expect for a Santa Monica cafe located on Montana Ave but the quality is good. We'll definitely be adding this place to our rotation.
google avatar

Alita M.

Yelp
what a bummer. i've worked in the coffee / food service industry for over 7 years and decided to try gget instead of my usual peets. i walk up to order and i stand there for a solid 3 - 5 minutes with 3 staff on bar working, while i'm waiting there with no one saying "one moment" or "i'll be right with you". nothing. while i stand there by myself, a man walks in and stands next to me, the barista immediately calls him over to take his order and he even looked back at me like "weren't you waiting?" but ofc he proceeded to order and once he was done, still no one helped me until i approached her saying i was waIting before him. she was apologetic and said the ordering system is confusing but nothing more. the ordering bar is confusing cause the same people you pay with, is making your coffee and handing it to you. no gloves either? hello heath inspector? yea it's me. i was planning to also get food but she charged me for my coffee and i left. which was okay. i'm not returning and i recommend you skip this spot too cause who wants poor service? having customer awareness is the bare minimum with customer service.
google avatar

Jill G.

Yelp
Grateful we have A GGET now on the westside. Amazing house made milk is gut friendly and always consistent. Excited to go get my lattes here and get out of the house early as I know they have a early close time! Will be back :)

Nola C.

Yelp
Coffee is great but the food and service is slow and awful. Waited 25 min for a chicken salad sandwich--!!! And for $16, it tasted like it came from Ralph's and had a bone in it. So many other better options nearby.

Vanessa K.

Yelp
I gave them a second chance after an "eh" first visit. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich this time. It didn't appear "made to order" and was missing the bacon. The bread was very soggy. I got it to-go so didn't realize until I got home- otherwise I would have said something. With so many good breakfast spots around this place was disappointing.
