Go Nonna

The food was amazing and really good portions. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact that we had to wait 1 hour for our table. My friend made a reservation for 8 but when she called the r/s she was told to show up at 7 cause “they were going to have availability then”, all 4 of us showed at 7 of course just for them to say that they couldn’t seat us cause our reservation was at 8. That seemed like an unnecessary hassle for us. Other than that the place is nice and small with good food.

Worth noting, don't often review food spots but Go Nonna made me feel absolutely compelled to. I had a fettuccine dish with grilled chicken added, my college mates had steak & fries, chicken parm, and the gnocchi. The fettuccine was absolutely fantastic, all the signature creamy hallmarks without the heavy feeling a creamy sauce usually has - and the chicken was very well seasoned. Everything together was a delightful ensemble that I'd recommend to anyone. If you're near LIC, or can access it easily, go at least once because I assure you that you'll want to return thereafter. Service was stellar. Only "drawback", which is more a matter of perspective and personal preference, is the restaurant itself is relatively small - so it is a very cozy spot, but you'll wanna be cognizant of space if going on more popular days (reservations if able). All in all, worth every cent and second spent.

A gem! What a good time we had there and the service was so friendly and yet excellent as well. from Lawrence. as many others have noted, the Chicken Milanesia It's superb as was the lasagna. started off with a nice side order of the spinach with garlic and ended with the flan and the affogato. What a great experience!

Everything that we ordered was excellent! Get an appetizer. And definitely save room for dessert. Very small space, so you will literally be side by side with another table.

For the starter, we had Fritto Misto - a mix of fried shrimp, calamari, and zucchini. My parents enjoyed it, but I wasn’t a fan of the breading. For my main course, I ordered the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe. The pasta was fresh and well-cooked. It was my first time trying this kind of dish, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it didn’t quite make me fall in love with it. My dad had the Milanesa Fugazzeta. The chicken cutlet was juicy and flavorful, and the fries on the side were also very good. My mom went with the Trentino Salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was a bit dry, and there was only a small piece of goat cheese on top.

This was incredible food served by a gracious helpful friendly staff, served quickly and beautifully. My preteens ate off the regular menu and said it was the best lasagna and tagiatelleb they've ever had

Delicious spot! Even better in person. We’ve ordered delivery from this place many times and the food comes hot and filling. Finally tried in person and was even better than expected! Food: Got the Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina and Milanesa Napolitana - both were absolutely delicious and great portions! Also got a Formaggio Di Capra salad and was delicious. Drinks: Didn’t get any alcohol but they had a large wine menu and good cocktail list. Will try next time. Seating: About 6-7 tables indoors, good for 2 people each. Outdoor is almost double the size, tables good for 2-4 people. Sufficient space but I can imagine long waits on weekends. Service: It was packed with only 2-3 tables left between inside and outdoor. Service was a little slow to get started but was fairly attentive after we got the order going.

The ambiance is cozy and intimate, perfect for a romantic dinner or special occasion. Overall a great local spot serving up some Italian and Argentinian dishes. The carbonara was good, but the Parmesan was a bit too strong for my taste. The pasta was cooked well The chicken was also good, but nothing special.. the fries were good but thin. The service was very friendly though and it's a very cute spot. If I came back I'd want to try the chicken parmigiana and other pasta dishes!

I went to this cosy restaurant in LIC on a Wednesday for lunch and it was pretty empty which was nice. You could hear the pounding of the chef making fresh dough in the kitchen. The service was extremely attentive (as we were the only ones there). I wanted to really like this place but the food was only average. Overall, if you like Italian/Argentina pastas, I would recommend to try this restaurant out since on average you would probably enjoy this place as the pasta itself is really fresh. They just need to tweak the flavors and cook slightly. - Octopus was a bit under seasoned and slightly overcooked making it a bit tough. - Short rib papardelle had great pasta and the sauce was delicious, however I don't the short rib to have been overcooked and dry. - Orecchiette with broccoli rabe was the most disappointing - flavors lacking and it was boring overall. - Tiramisu was pretty good

Fantastic lunch in Long Island City at Go Nonna. Parking is basically non existent during the workweek. The restaurant is cute, with about a Dozen tables. Liquor license with Wine Beer and cocktails. No bar to sit. Outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Service was great. The Fritto Misto was a wonderful fried combination of Shrimp, Calamari, and Zucchini. Tagliatelle Bolognese was a mixed bag, homemade pasta cooked perfectly, the sauce on the other hand appeared to be just meat sauce. It was good but certainly not a true Bolognese. The meatballs were the star of the show for me, really well done. Little disappointed that bread service was not provided for a scarpetta. The Pesto Ravioli looked wonderful as did the Homemade pasta with meatballs. Espresso was executed nicely. I will be back for more.

I've been a regular at this restaurant & genuinely enjoy the food, but my recent experience left me disappointed. During my meal, I found a piece of silver sponge metal in my food. While I understand that mistakes can happen, I expected better handling of the situation. When I brought this to the server's attention, he apologized, which I appreciated. However, when the check arrived, I was surprised to see that they removed the wine from the bill, not the food with the issue. I've always held this restaurant in high regard, but this experience has made me question their approach to resolving issues. I hope they take this feedback to heart and improve how they resolve situations like this in the future.

I came for a dinner with my family. While the spot is fairly small, the staff were able to seat our party fairly efficiently. I got the meatballs appetizer as an entree (and basically stole parts of my husbands penne alla vodka sauce haha). All in all, the meatballs were really good, and the accompanying red sauce was tangy and delicious. My husband and I also enjoyed the penne alla vodka, especially the vodka sauce. I also got a chance to try other entrees, such as the skirt steak and the carbonara. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the carbonara was creamy although a bit on the bland side for my taste. We had a wonderful time and definitely enjoyed the selection of alcoholic beverages available. Will definitely recommend for folks looking for an interesting take on Italian (and a little bit of Argentinian) cuisine!

Great Italian Argentinian food. It's a great unique combination. The restaurant was a nice comfortable stetting. I highly the frito misto to start. Great dish. I also recommend the Chicken Parm. Great sauce and a good portion. I definitely will be back.

Go Nonna, it's your birthday! This a solid, homey, affordable, and tasty Italian-Argentine restaurant in a bit of a no-man's land part of LIC. The pasta list is extensive, but I highly recommend their take on pasta carbonara. Their wine list is also extensive, and better still is the service that's warm and attentive. I also enjoyed the cavatelli with shiitake mushrooms, fava beans, smoked mozzarella, and asparagus - an interesting flavor profile I won't forget any time soon. At about $22-25 a plate, the prices are quite reasonable for this part of town. I look forward to returning soon.

Cute cozy little place. Intimate service. Attentive and sweet. Came here for a birthday. Order two pastas dishes and the steak! Deliciousness . Definitely will come back to try different pastas!

Super sad I can't give this place higher stars because I really wanted to like it. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and no one else was there. This is a cute little spot with character. The pasta looked delicious and I have no complaints, nothing too special about it. My issue is with the broccoli. It was so sour, and not from the garlic or oil it was cooked in. Broccoli, like most vegetables, usually begins to taste sour when it has been in the sun too long and when it begins to bolt/premature. As it is summer, I'm sure the produce is spoiling quicker than usual. Serving sour broccoli can lead to food borne illness. This dish was very inedible. The waitress tried to tell me it was suppose to be sour like that, but I just don't believe the vegetable was purposely cooked to taste spoiled.

I've been here twice hasn't disappointed me yet. They make a great Espresso Martini. The grilled octopus is amazing and so is the chicken parmigiana & pasta. Pretty small place but it doesn't disappoint. Will definitely go back. Service is always great from the moment you walk in until you leave.

I came upon this restaurant by driving off the Pulaski bridge during my move from BK to Queens. Their outdoor seating, their name, idea of Italian & Argentinian food combined intrigued me. I went in on a late summer night last year and have ordered takeout from them as well. It's a small restaurant away from the main street and the food is delicious. My favorite is the Pappardelle al Ragu di Carne and the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. Service is pretty quick and everyone I've encountered so far has been pleasant. If I lived closer, I'd visit more frequently!

This little gem is nestled in between some breweries in Long Island city and had good reviews. It was a busy place, but they were able to seat us outside. I got the cacio e pepe. The pasta was nicely Al dente and the cream sauce had enough pepper to keep it interesting. The basil pesto tasted delicious as well. Prices were really good.

Food is amazing, the service was very nice and friendly, cozy ambiance. The Bavette Al limone with shrimp was delicious and their red wine Sangiovese btle, I loved it!! Please don't go without trying limoncello, Highly recommend Definitely we'll back soon

Long Island City is Adorable! What a up and coming town. We walked past Go Nonna as it started to pour. It was a bit warm in the restaurant as they do not have Air Conditioning. Just ceiling fans. We decided to eat here. Staff was Amazing! We Started with appetizer Fried Mix. It had Fried Zucchini, Fried Calamari and Fried Shrimp. It was delicious!!! We selected Penne Vodka and the mixed vegetables with pasta. All great portions and well seasoned. We enjoyed our meal and rain stopped. If you are in the area give Go Nonna a try!

This little cute Italian restaurant in LIC was a nice spot for a Friday summer night's casual dinner. We sat outside and it was so nice with the weather being perfect and the vibe being great. Server was very nice and seemed very genuine. The food was yummy. It felt like home cooked and hand made pasta. Flavors were better than I expected; I really enjoyed the fragrant lemon taste in the lemon shrimp pasta (probably another name). Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Went to Go Nonna last night for some local Al fresco dining! Even being on a busy street, the outside seating was very comfortable and homey. I had the cacio e Pepe and my husband had the chicken Milanese. We also shared a side of the spinach. It wasn't knock your socks off best pasta I have ever had, but it was still super delicious and a great portion size! The waitress was also so incredibly friendly, which enhanced the experience even more! I definitely look forward to trying more items on their menu both as dine in and take out through their super cute take out window! Also would love to go back and try some of the wine!!

Popped in here for dinner with a few friends. Absolutely excellent and unpretentious. Great freshly made dishes in pretty generous portions, you can't go wrong. My chicken piccata was seriously delicious. This is often one of my go-to dinners to cook, so I loved to get one that makes me wish I made it too. So very good. Everyone loved their homemade pastas and our service was lovely. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.

I am not a big fan of pasta but the food here was amazing! We were actually on our way to another restaurant but this one looked so good that we decided to stop in anyway. I had the truffle fettuccine which was an option on the specials menu with a large aperol spritz. The pasta was great and they make it in house so it really had an amazing texture, the truffle flavor was a bit more subtle than I expected but present enough to enjoy. Customer service was great and pretty speedy! It could be that we went during the late lunch hour but it was pretty quiet. If you're looking for an energetic ambience, that might be something to keep in mind. If you're looking for a quite intimate dining experience, this is definitely the place for you. We were too full to try the desserts and honestly the pasta portion size was so generous that we didn't get any sides or accompaniments. I look forward to the opportunity to come back and sample more menu items!

I ordered the carbonara through delivery and it felt like it was missing something. The flavor was a bit flat and the chicken didn't taste the most fresh. I can't speak to the dining experience but I'll probably pass on adding this into my rotation.

This was the type of meal I'll dream about afterwards. Everything was delicious and fresh. We got the grilled endives as an appetizer, the fettuccini tartuffo, orichette and steak frites. I'm still thinking about the sauce with the steak frites. Overall a delicious spot with amazing food! We will be back

When it's cold and the weather is awful out, sometimes we lean on takeout or delivery to get us through. I'm a sucker for good pasta/Italian and Go Nonna came up as a viable takeout option in Queens. This has quickly become one of my go-tos for Italian takeout and I've ordered from them numerous times even though I haven't gone to the actual location. Factoring in some leniency for fried items when it's delivered, I still order them anyway and bet they're even better at the restaurant. So, what are some of the things I've ordered? I've ordered the following items so far: Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese, Bavette Al Limone con Gamberi e Zucchine, Lasagne Marchigiane, Zucchine Fritte (side), Spinaci Al Salto (side), and Polpette (one of their meatballs, listed as a side online). The first two pastas are my favorites and I'll alternate between them depending on whether I'm craving a meatier sauce or if I want some lighter flavors like the lemon and zucchini with shrimp! The lasagna was good as well though it's on the cheesier side (being semi lactose intolerant it's a touch too much but delicious). The fried zucchini is a routine favorite though I'd say skip the spinach (it was tasty but not worth the price since you can easily make this at home). Will only post pictures from my most recent order. They've also been a great carbo loading option in preparation for running! This has been a solid spot with consistently good food so I'll definitely continue ordering from them and hopefully get to try them out in the restaurant at some point!

Came here based off of the reviews. The food and service was alright. It was on the pricey side for pasta, but what can you expect from LIC. There was Argentinan food too which I would've liked to try. So that was an interesting combination between Italian and Argentinan. The place isn't big so wouldn't suggest it for a group meal. Rather for a small intimate setting. We didn't make reservations, but only two of us were eating. So, not sure if that's necessary too. I think the menu changes frequently. When we went, just got the pasta dishes and the meatball. I also ordered the wine, which from the menu sounds like it would be fruity, but it wasn't. I was a bit disappointed in that. The meatballs were good, but the pasta dishes not so much. Not sure if I would go back again as everything was mediocre. Maybe the other types of entrees would be better.

Food Service and Ambience was nice. Very cozy. All the dishes/drinks ordered at our table were delicious. The staff were very accommodating. Only one minus was the A/C. It was a very humid day and the A/C wasn't very strong.

Such a lovely place. I ordered take out frequently and also swing in for an espresso martini while I wait for my takeout. The staff is incredible and so are the chefs! (Shout out to Andrea! She makes me feel so welcome every time! And Paola too!) it is a wonderful place and great addition to the neighborhood. (It is an intimate space. Make a reservation for parties larger than 2)

This is a romantic spot for date night! Interesting that it's a combination of Italian and Argentine cuisines. Farther from the main drag of restaurants on Vernon Blvd in Long Island City, but it's perfect with great food and ambiance! Inside, they can fit about 17 seats and when the weather gets nicer, they have additional seating for 13 in the hutch on the street. I called for reservations the same day on a Wednesday and they were not busy at all with a couple and a family of 4 seated when we walked in at 6:30. They seem to do a lot of takeout, with a constant stream of delivery guys picking up orders at the takeout window, but service did not suffer because the server was on top of her game. Takeout is good, but there is no substitute to enjoying your food hot out of the kitchen. From the menu you can see that the meat dishes are Argentinian and the pastas are Italian and they have somehow harmonized these together. We started with the Fritto Misto, a mixed dish of fried shrimp, calamari and zucchini sticks. Perfectly dredged in flour, deep fried and seasoned. And the calamari included the tentacles (my favorite part) with a side of marinara, of course. We both decided to go for pasta. The pastas are all homemade! For her, the Bucatini alla Carbonara had a delicate creamy egg sauce with pancetta and shaved parmesan was perfect. For me, Pappardelle al Ragu di Carne was very hearty beef shortrib chunks in a smooth tomato sauce. The wide pasta noodles were perfectly al dente and that pop/bite that only fresh pasta can give you. Delicious! A side of sauteed spinach rounded out the meal. I really want to come back and explore the Argentine side of the menu! And for dessert, Tiramisu! Smooth, creamy and light with a dusting of espresso/cocoa powder over layers of cream and fluffy lady fingers. 2 spoons and 2 cappuccinos, please!

Solid italian spot - very good selection of pastas and huge portions. Server was also really nice and made good recommendations. I got the cacio e pepe, while my friends got the ragu special. The beef in the ragu was extremely tender, and my cacio e pepe was very cheesey. It was a bit heavy but I really like white cream sauce.

Been here a few times now and I've gotta say this place is on point. The steak frites is fantastic and all of the pastas I've tried have been a home run. Love that they're in the neighborhood.

Ordered delivery and had an okay experience. The cacio e pepe didn't really taste like cacio e pepe, and the chicken parmesan was solid but nothing special. Little pricey, too. Other Italian spots in the surrounding areas like Maiella and Il Falco are better, though this is a perfectly fine neighborhood option. 3.5 stars.

This reviews purely based on the food as I ordered delivery. Ordered the bolognese pasta. Delivery was quick and the food was still nice and warm! However, taste wise, it was bland. For the price ($25 on Seamless), it was not worth it. But given the reviews of those who tried it in person and enjoyed it, will give it a try in person as well!

I ordered lastnigh the Parpadelle Ragú Pasta and they send me the ragú sauce with PENNE pasta, totally over cooked and waited about 1 hour for it, i wad gross, got super disappointed and scammed cuz i am Italian and i know what a Parpadelle looks like and spend about $40 for a simple pasta.

Food was favorable and good portions. However, no bread or any table food with the dinner; not available for order. My lasagna was well seasoned and bolognese plentiful. My wife had the endive appetizer. Quite good. She tagliatelle alla bolognese as her entree. Again very favorable. A language problem prevented the waiter from bringing salt and pepper, but food was well seasoned anyway. The service was not up to the quality of the food. Rey seldom checked on the table; waited an unreasonable amount of time for the check. Easily could have been 5 starts with better service.

Good food, bad service! There are many available seat in room, but the sever want to assign a seat next to restroom to me. I said I will not seat next to restrooms. After that, the server assigned another seat to me reluctantly. Despite of that, the Strozzapreti I choose is wonderful.

Solid neighborhood Italian by Court Sq in LIC with a nice curated menu of the staples. We got dinner to go and we're very happy with our oriechette with broccoli rabe and sausage and tagliatelle Bolognese. The pasta is a nice al dente and the sauces on the lighter savory side. The bolognese was a lighter marinara base with ground beef tossed with tagliatelle. It's decent but a bit different from what is at Osteria Moroni which is heartier and has a more robust base sauce. The oriechette was tossed in a light olive oil base and came with plenty of fresh crispy broccoli rabe. We also had the chicken part which was fantastic. The portion is very generous and the cutlet perfectly tender with a nice balance of sauce and mozzarella. Worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood and looking for some Italian!

I jogged by this place a few times and wanted to try it. It is on a quiet street with outdoor seatings. I have to say Go Nonna is definitely a hidden gem in LIC with very decent food and good service. We had Roasted Brussel Sprouts Salad, and Fried Calamari for appetizers. On the pasta we ordered Lemon linguine with shrimp and zucchini & garlic olive oil, and Pappardelle in Short Ribs Ragù. We also tried the Chicken Parmigiana. Everything from appetizer to pasta and entree were very tasty and flavorful. We had a great time and really enjoyed our dinner. I will definitely be back for more of their homemade pasta & Argentina dishes.

I came in to the restaurant yesterday unexpectedly because I was waiting for my husband. I was starving and was hoping they would seat me and they did! The man at the bar and nice lady worked me in even though they had reservations coming in. It was so nice of them! The waitress was nice and understood I was in a hurry and took my order quickly. The food was excellent!!!!! Definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. It's small but cozy vibes and I love that you can see into the kitchen which is very clean and the bathroom as well. The restaurant is definitely a hidden gem ! I will be back soon! Went here with my friends I ordered the short rib pasta. The food here was delicious, short rib was cooked perfectly. The restaurant is very small mostly 2 seater tables, but they made a table of 4 for us. They do have a large outdoor seating area. The decor is ok, and the service was pleasant. I will be back.

Some of the best pasta in the city, and most definitely in LIC. I live in the area and this is my go to place when I'm craving handmade pasta and a glass of wine. The vibes are casual and relaxed and perfect for a low-key night out. Everything I've had has always been delicious and I especially like their meatballs.

My GF and I have been here several times now, and this place has never disappointed. I usually don't get steak when I go out unless it's a special occasion and I'm at a steak house that I'd trust but damn. The steak was on point. The carbonara was delicious as expected. We got the eggplant to share as well. TLDR - you gotta give this place a try if you're looking for Italian in LIC. Truly doesn't disappoint.

Pastas are always al dente and they are not covered with sauce. They use just the right amount of sauce though I'm sure you can ask for extra sauce if you like your pastas with more sauce (I do not). I love their Orecchiette and eggplant pasta Maccheroni in Salsa di Melenzane (Sicilia), which is unique to them and vegetarian.

Go Nonna is a Long Island City staple. I've had just about everything on the menu and I can vouch for the quality of their food. My personal favorites are the cacio e pepe, tuna tartar, and the pulpo. The salads are also well seasoned and made with fresh ingredients. The service is always great and the staff is extremely attentive. You can choose to sit outside or inside. I personally like to sit inside bc of the music and great atmosphere but sitting outside in the sun is fun too! Overall would recommend!

This place is a gem in LIC! My favorite is the Pappardelle al ragu di carne. The noodles taste so fresh and I love the smooth yet al dente texture once you bite into it! Also, I like to order the roasted butternut squash. It's mixed with arugula, lentils, and grilled chicken tossed in a perfectly seasoned dressing. Also, I've never really had to wait to get a table here, which is so nice!

One of the best pastas I've had in New York! Definitely my favorite local spot I have never seen my children enjoy pasta as much as they did while eating at this place!

Takeout review (quarantine times). I was excited when hearing that this new Italian/Argentine spot was opening up here in LIC, and while I haven't had the chance to dine-in just yet, I've sampled several of their dishes, each pretty damn good. Plus, on my first pick up visit, it randomly decided to downpour, and even in the early days of the pandemic (e.g., NYC was not doing well), the owner was super nice and let me take shelter inside - cute spot, can't wait to dine-in...in the unforeseeable future. So, anyways, I've tried: Polpette alla Lucana - Veal meatballs braised in tomato sauce over soft polenta with wilted spinach - Delicious; while I can be rather particular with my meatballs (grew up and practically adopted by my lovely Italian neighbors), these did not disappoint - firm and saucy. And with the accompanying polenta and spinach, I could order 2 of these for the night and leave a happy man. Pappardelle al Ragu di Carne - pasta was perfectly al dente and they didn't skimp on chucks of succulent short rib in the ragu. Awesome. Chicken Parmigiana - very nice portion, served spaghetti - it satisfied my chicken parm craving and then some! Looking forward to trying more of what Go Nonna has to offer!
