is it just me or is the price actually quite steep at rm13? went on a weekday lunch time wait time less than 20 minutes, kuey teow seems to be full of wokhei and the fragrance of pork lard. I hardly even like prawn but the prawns here are very nice for me. crunchy texture and fresh.

Goggle Man Char Kwey Tiau in Penang is hands down some of the best char kwey tiau I’ve ever had! It was so delicious that I went back twice during my trip. And the prawns? Incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. A must-try for anyone visiting Penang!

This place has been around for decades and it is still consistently serving up the best CKT and Kopi I've had in Penang. Generous huge Prawns, the flavour of the Wok, noodles and Spices is just right. Looking forward to coming back again. Must try!

Deceptive business and rude. Ordered a CKT for RM13 as advertised. On the picture menu.. there was 3 big prawns on the plate... My ordered came with only 2 prawns. When I asked him why only 2 prawns and not 3 prawns.. he said only 2 prawns for CKT. To make things worst.. the next plate of CKT he was frying.. there were 3 prawns... so I asked him again.. and he said this was for his friend. Wah liau eh.. like that no need do business for other people lah.. just do business with his friends lah... In fact you see the pics that ppl post.. all the foreigners got only 2 prawns.. locals got 3-4 prawns... so inconsistent and based on his mood. It's like 1 group of people deserve less for the money spent. I am not even a foreigner and I am pissed off with his attitude and business method. Will not buy his CKT again. There are other CKT that taste better lah.. like the CKT auntie just a few meters away (Btw.. this is the OG Big Prawn CKT .. only went to Goggleman CKT because the auntie went to CNY Holiday), Siam Road CKT and even the old Genting Cafe CKT is better lah. Take your business elsewhere if you don't feel like being cheated.

My 2nd visit to this hawker stall, seems like my mom’s favorite CKT, I personally think CKT is based on your own taste preference, this stalls served CKT that is not super oily, wok hei so-so, I preferred one without chili, seems better. With that price, you able to get 2 big prawns, with quite a good portion of kuey teow.

Very good Char Keoy teow (although I prefer the one next door). Super friendly staff and excellent range of cold drinks. Good prices, lots of seating and the fans mean its a cool environment on a hot day.

For RM12.00 per serving, Goggles Man Char Koay Teow comes with 2 huge succulent prawns which were so fresh that it is crunchy, fried pork lard, and slices of Chinese sausage (lap cheong) in a paper plate. You need not ask for no cockles as it is not served with cockles. It is lighter than my favourite Tiger Char Koay Teow at Carnavan Street. There is a history behind the stall as the original Char Koay Teow stall here was the rude Red Hat Aunty that moved down the road to take residence in Kafe Heng Huat after she bought the premises. Goggles Man then took over the CKT spot here, built up his reputation over the years and ended also buying up the shop lot renaming it KTG Cafe from the original name of Low Eng Hoo Cafe. So there are two famous Char Koay Teows along this stretch of Lorong Selamat that have a following on food blogs, Instagram and Tik Tok.
