15 London Starters That Are The Main Event - London - The Infatuation

"Nowhere in London makes a summer roll with the care and precision of Eat Vietnam Bar-B-Grill. Vietnamese Spring Roll Shop Heading to Hillcrest | Eater San Diego

"Opening its first brick-and-mortar after two years as a local farmers market vendor, Goi Cuon will launch a Robinson Avenue storefront in the heart of Hillcrest (grand opening Monday, June 10) while keeping its weekly Hillcrest and Ocean Beach market dates; the shop will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will make its spring rolls to order. It specializes in goi cuon (fresh Vietnamese spring rolls) with traditional fillings like sugarcane shrimp and Vietnamese pork sausage, plus a range of vegan options such as crispy tofu, avocado and strawberry, and bean curd skin, with peanut sauce served on the side. The menu also includes crunchy egg rolls, fried and steamed dumplings, and two original roll creations—one based on Vietnamese crepes and another on pho, featuring thick rice paper wrapped around grilled meat or tofu with avocado, cucumber, basil, lettuce, cilantro, and a side of coconut sauce—along with rice noodle salad bowls and banh mi (fillings from grilled chicken to over-easy organic eggs); $9.99 meal combos come with five different items plus soup and jasmine tea." - Candice Woo

Google
Pretty solid place for Vietnamese food! I got the Pho Rolls Grilled Shrimp, Special Goi Cuon, and Pork Sausage Crispy Spring Rolls, along with a Thai tea with coconut milk. One fewer star because some of the veggies were brown.

Google
Such fresh and authentic Vietnamese food! I’ve had their combo #1 and #2, they are delicious and great portions for the price. The shrimp crunchy spring roll was my favorite but the fried rolls were delicious too. The combos come with soup and a such tasty jasmine tea. I feel like I am in Vietnam! The staff I believe is all Vietnamese and you can see them cranky out rolls with expertise. Highly recommend this spot, there is free parking and service is quick!

I love this place! Every time I visit San Diego, I end up at Goi Cuon for lunch or dinner. The food is fresh, tasty, and well priced. Lots of people come here. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. No wonder I keep going back.

Google
The service was good. I was super excited when I saw the extensive vegan menu, however, the food does not match up. I got the vegan pho to dine in and the broth was flavorless and the noodles were overcooked. I’ve had much better vegan pho. I also got combo 3 for takeout and the only things I enjoyed are the crispy tofu and the spring roll with avocado. Maybe I should’ve stuck with the spring rolls.

Google
Amazing vegan options!! I love the tofu bahn mi I sub the tofu ham for fried tofu so yummy. I tried the vegan egg rolls for the first time today they were great and a good price. Definitely recommending this place! All this and a Thai iced tea $20 😋

Google
Amazing nem nuong (pork sausage) rolls! Got three rolls that came with a yummy peanut sauce dip and a pho delivered through Door Dash and everything was packed super thoughtfully. All I had to do was pour the broth into the noodle bowl and agitate it a little with the chopstick to get the noodles unstuck, which it did very easily. The amount of broth was exactly perfect for the noodle bowl.

Lillie G.

Google
Tasty and inexpensive! The bahn mi is incredible. I got tofu and added avocado and it was super filling for less than 10. Vietnamese coffee is always good here too.

Google
Combo number 4 all the time every time. The spring rolls are heavenly. I crave the spring roll with mint on a daily basis, and the vietnamese crepe roll with the coconut sauce is out of this world. Simple, nutritious, decadent, I always come here when I go to san diego.

Yelp
It was raining in San Diego so you know what that means - pho time! I was in the area and needed my pho fix so I decided to try Goi Cuon for the first time. The parking lot is tight but it's free so that was great. I found a spot right away and made my way inside. The restaurant gives off good vibes and it was busy for a weekday lunch hour. I ordered at the cashier and sat down at a table. I tried their rare steak pho and the broth was incredibly savory and steaming hot - just the way I like it! It costs $17 which is a little steep but for the size of the bowl was a good value. Their Thai tea was exceptionally creamy and sweet and the perfect balance to my rainy-day pho. I would highly recommend you check them out next time you're in Hilcrest for their great service and delicious food!

Yelp
I went back again to try their noodle dishes - Pho Beef Special and Special Vermicelli Bowl. And wow, I was thoroughly impressed by the noodle dishes! The pho was very fragrant even though it was takeout. The broth warmth my soul after I heated it up at home. It wasn't as hearty as other places but was still comforting. The amount of protein was also plentiful. YUM. The only downside (not really a downside) was the type of noodles that were used. They were the thicker noodles that's I didn't care for as I prefer the thinner ones. The vermicelli bowl was beautifully prepared. It came with two sauces: one peanut and one fish sauce. The only downside was the shrimp! They were quite small. But overall, the entirety of the dish was delicious! I do think the next time I visit, I would mix and match with the different items the restaurant offers rather than sticking to one specific item such as only the Combos or just the soups. The variety really gives a better experience!

Yelp
This is definitely my go-to spot for fried egg banh mi! Must admit it's been a while since I've tried their pho, but their spring rolls are definitely on point. I will usually get a side of beef broth with my egg banh mi and if that's an indication of their pho it's gotta be good. My favorite thing about the banh mi that I get are the crispy fried garlic pieces they put on top of the egg. Service is solid, nothing over-the-top but never ever rude. Food always comes out pretty fast and it's always good. The place itself has plenty of seating, I've never been there and had trouble finding a seat. The tables are always very clean and the counter where the food is served is also always spotless. Parking on the other hand is a completely different beast -just be flexible in where you park and be ready to walk a few minutes if there's no parking in the lot. Solid spot!

Yelp
I was on my way back to LA after visiting San Diego for a conference, and I needed somewhere to grab dinner before I hit the road. I was craving Vietnamese food; I find it to be light and "clean," which makes it ideal as a pre-travel meal. In I went. It's not a huge place, but it's comfortable and welcoming. I'm a sucker for a good vermicelli bowl, and theirs, while technically on a plate, ticked that box for sure. I opted for the special bowl, which came with an egg roll, grilled pork and shrimp. It came out fairly speedily, and everything was nicely cooked--loved the pork and the egg roll in particular. It was an extremely satisfying dish. Service was friendly and efficient, and they were nice enough to let me fill up my water bottle prior to the trip. If I were back in San Diego, I'd be happy to dine here again.

Yelp
Always wanted to go here and a friend chose this place to take me to lunch. What a delight . The food was yummy for sure and a reasonable quantity for the cost. The ladies making the food were a delight and they showed me how to make some rolls.

Yelp
Pros: - Spring rolls were good in size. Great ingredients and great combo options. The fried tofu in my combo was silky soft, meaning that they made it fresh. Combos come with black or green tea (unsweetened). - No wait on a weekend in the afternoon. - Place also sells typical Vietnamese street snacks, etc. I love the fact that there's a window to look into the kitchen to see them making the food. - Clean environment and efficient service. We love the mom-and-pop shop type of feel. Cons: - Parking might be hard since the lot is small, but we came during the weekend and found parking just fine. For $14, you get 2 different kinds of spring roll, a little appetizer, a side and small soup with tea. The meal was light and refreshing, but kept me happily full. Tip: get the coconut sauce dip. I have no clue what's in there, but give me a whole bottle of it. It compliments spring rolls with protein like pork or beef really well.

Yelp
Wow. Just wow. This Pho spot is probably in my best 3, that I have ever tried. We were seated right away, and they took our order within 5 minutes. The food did not take that long to come out, 5 minutes tops. The Pho was amazing! Beef broth was very rich in flavor. I got the S2 filet mignon (no onion and no chives) $18 (I like to add a bunch of chili to mine, I added racha and chili oil + jalapeños) My husband got the S1 Pho Beef Special - this had a combination of slices of rare beef, fatty brisket, lean brisket, flank, tendon, and tripe. $17 We also got two kids pho and those were $5 each. We also got the P4 - Pho Grilled Beef Roll Everything was DELICIOUS. The one thing I would say is that the noodles were a little too overcooked for my tasting but not enough to knock out stars. Small but has indoor seating, nice place and not too noisy inside. My husband said it's been the best Pho he's had in a long time. Would definitely make the drive from LA down to SD for this again. (We were in town for San Diego Comic Con) Overall definitely recommend!

Yelp
This restaurant is probably the best pho I've ever had in the U.S. the staff is very respectful and friendly. They go above and beyond to please their customers and I recommend this Vietnamese restaurant to anyone that's how good it is. The locations is amazing and dinning in is as good as take out.

Yelp
Gỏi Cuốn is always solid. The rolls are super fresh, packed with herbs, and taste amazing with the dipping sauce. The staff is chill and helpful, even when it's busy. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but the food is definitely worth it. One of my go-to spots whenever I'm craving something fresh and tasty.

Yelp
Was in a hurry as it was raining outside and I put in a large order to try many different items. The Pho roll's were both amazing! The Goi Cuon fresh spring rolls were all so succulent, especially the avocado shrimp, grilled chicken, grilled beef, grilled pork, and the omelet fresh spring rolls. I ordered so many to-go items. The fish sauce, coconut cream, and peanut sauce went well with all of the rolls. Very first time having coconut cream as a dipping sauce. :-) Great customer service and for sure will be coming back.

Yelp
Full disclosure Vietnamese food is not my favorite food in the world but I like it well enough. Visiting my friend in SD, she's a huge fan of this place and definitely was willing to give them a shot. I had the COMBO #2: - Grilled Beef Pho Roll - Vietnamese Sausage Pork & Crispy Snack Spring Roll - Shrimp Egg Roll - Chicken Dumpling - Crispy tofu - Vegan Soup - Hot/Cold Jasmine Tea (non-sweet) All three rolls were delicious, the chicken dumpling was good, I was surprised how much I enjoyed the vegan options on my plate, and I went with iced tea. Inside of the restaurant was small but very homey and definitely had a very intimate and local's vibe. Service was fine, not bad but nothing to write home about. Love the welcoming they are making clear that this Hillcrest business is welcoming of the lgbt+ community. I know, not difficult to do in the neighborhood but it's appreciated nonetheless. Definitely see myself returning as it's good and close to my friend's place.

Yelp
Hmm staff was friendly! 5/5 Good taste 4.5/5! Parking was 4/5 I got lucky the bank already closed and I took one of the employee parking. I can see regulars come eat here. The menu has a wide variety of items to choose from!

Yelp
Loved the vegan pho with assorted veggies here on a recent visit. Husband enjoyed their pho as well. Meats were soft and tender to him. Both broths were flavorful as well. It's rare to find a place with vegan pho that tastes so good! We will definitely be back when in the area again. Fast and friendly service as well.

Yelp
Came here with friends after seeing the holiday lights at the zoo. We ordered pho, Thai tea and their specialities (spring and other such rolls), such as fried pork roll and one of their tofu pho rolls. The pho was good, but overall, per my friend who tried it, their pho roll was very good. I'd come again just to try the pho rolls!

Yelp
Really good assortment of Vietnamese fare, and very decent prices. Stopped in for dinner recently, ordering up a variety of items: --fried pork egg rolls --fried shrimp egg rolls --fried vegan eggrolls --shrimp crepes roll --shrimp spring roll --pho shrimp Egg rolls were really good. Tasty, crispy, and super hot when they were delivered to our table. Let them cool off for a bit before chowing down, because you will surely burn your tongue. Spring rolls were not the best we've had, but they weren't bad. Pho was super. Yummy, tasty broth, packed with noodles and delicious shrimp. Side of bean sprouts and Thai basil provided - not a bean sprout lover, and Thai basil, no matter how much spice I like, is still a bit too potent for me. Glad they included it for those that love it, but I'm especially glad they gave me the option. Jasmine tea was also ordered and very refreshing. Great pricing and prompt, friendly service. A somewhat meagerly decorated interior, but we weren't looking for anything fancy - we just wanted good food. And that is what we got. For those wanting take out, this spot does a hopping take-out business. Orders were well organized and when customers came in, they were all ready to go. An efficient operation on that front.

Yelp
The food is consistently fantastic at Goi Cuon. The service is quick too. I like this casual dining spot. It's perfect for large and small groups. I am primarily get takeout here and it is always well packaged and prepared quickly. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely hands down my favorite place ever!!! Get the vegan pho, it is so healing! I have the app and order it whenever I need a comfort meal or feel under the weather! Staff is always super friendly and I love trying all the menu items here! The coconut Vietnamese coffee is 10/10, any of the spring rolls are 10/10, and the pho is phenomenal.
google avatar

Yelp
Subpar Vietnamese food and unswept floors filled with candy wrappers. Service could definitely use a lot of work. Finished eating and had to wait 10 minutes for the check and another 10 minutes to complete payment.

Yelp
Goi Cuon is known for their spring rolls, and they deliver! I really like #8 of the spring rolls, which is the Vietnamese Sausage Pork and crispy snack. The peanut dipping sauce is so so good and I feel like I could just drink it. Prices are good and I can get pretty full off of just 2-3 rolls. I haven't really tried many of their other menu items so I can't really say anything about it. Parking can be pretty tight, but I've always found a spot in their lot.

Yelp
Stopped in for bbq pork bánh mì, loved the decor and clean layout of the restaurant. A huge glass window separated the dining area from the kitchen so you can see your food getting made. Service was swift yet warm and welcoming. The bbq pork bánh mì was excellent, 10/10 on everything I look for: baguette had a perfect crackle, house made Asian mayonnaise, a proper crunch from the veggies and real bbq pork with just the right amount of fat left in. Best I've had outside of little Saigon. The spring rolls and pho rolls are excellent!
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
My go-to spot for ordering spring rolls, there are so many different options. Unlike other places that stuff it full of bean sprouts and lettuce to fill it up, goi cuon actually uses tons of rice noodles and protein so it feels like you are getting more value out of it. Their peanut sauce is really good, and everything is seasoned well. You can get the classic tofu, or shrimp spring rolls, but they also have beef and chicken and pork. It's incredible and a great and healthy lunch option.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a few months now and was pleasantly surprised it was on my way to therapy. Greeted twice, once by the automated door sensory and then by the cashier. Definitely cozy spot for some classic Vietnamese goods. The diversity in Spring Roll action is what drew me in. With all the options it took me a bit to decide. Love that they offer combo meals. Decided on Combo #2 To Go, little bit of some of the things I wanted to try. Overall very fresh tasting. Was not prepared for the avocado in the Pho Roll. I love veggies but would of appreciated a little more protein and sauce. But great value deal. I suggest raising the price and adding more meat.

Nadia L.

Yelp
My bf and I are visiting from out of town and I had a feeling this spot might be fire! The rolls especially, did not disappoint! Combo #2 rolls - has a little bit of everything and omg everything was so good!!! The sauces matched perfectly to the rolls to be dipped in. (If you don't know which goes with what just ask them. I had to do that so I can get the correct experience.) Rolls are made freshed and with chefs kiss. *THE COCONUT SAUCE IS A MUST ORDER! Yum* Pho beef special was good. Definitely helped with my pho craving. Price is resonable for the amount of food portion sizes. My bf and I shared these 2 items. Service was nice! You order at the window and they'll bring the food out. The place was clean and well kept. Definitely would come back for the rolls and the coconut sauce! Cons: Parking very small structure.
google avatar

Mayeli H.

Yelp
It's alright. Was excited to come here because the reviews were good but I was disappointed. I got the chicken pho and fresh spring rolls. Pho was extremely mid, broth was tasteless and noodles were overcooked. Fresh spring rolls were okay, not great. Service was slow. Wouldn't come back here.
google avatar

Sandra H.

Yelp
Honestly, I've heard about this place when it first opened and I think I didn't go because I've always wanted to open up a spring roll shop and the worst part about it is it's nothing like anything. I thought I could open and is so authentic and tasty and I went yesterday for the first time and I'm ordering it for delivery today. Yesterday when I went and I got combo number two. And it came with the pho beef roll a fried shrimp fried tofu a little mini soup and this sausage roll with like crispy stuff inside and the side sauces were unbelievable and I just can't get over it. Even the service was wonderful. The guy was super friendly and the service online is me so it's perfect, but the place was large but small at the same time so it's definitely a place where you're in and out but anyone who loves this type of food needs to try it it's excellent and I can't wait to try the shrimp sandwich that I got that's different. I'm sure it's going to be so good.
google avatar

Mimi E.

Yelp
Casual joint. Fast and friendly service. Great price for fresh rolls - fusion rolls but love the sauce. Combo comes with soup and egg roll. Great Vegan & Vegetarian menu too.
google avatar

Tiana S.

Yelp
The servers were very friendly. The food was good! The goi cuon summer roll was a deep fried spring roll wrapped in a summer roll. It was served with a miso peanut sauce that had sesame seeds and shredded carrots which was different but still good. The pho broth was good. They had all the condiments to adjust the broth as you want.
google avatar

Liz J.

Yelp
It's a bit of an overdue review for this spot but I stopped by here on the way home from work. I grabbed one of their banh mis and a few of their goi cuons (spring rolls). Service here is great and all the food was fresh. While I am honestly not a spring roll person, I loved the rolls here and especially the one with avocado one. Their banh mi was really good and held up well for lunch the next day. There is a small lot to park in, but I did find that on a weekday after work, it was pretty crowded since there are other businesses in this same plaza. That being said, I'd recommend checking this place out if you want spring rolls.
google avatar

Mindy S.

Yelp
What in the world are all these spring rolls? Strawberry spring rolls? Pho rolls? These are so weird! Let's go! I'd love to try them! Were my first impressions when I saw their menu. It's funny because my Vietnamese bf said he felt offended by these roll variations, that we had to try them. My Vietnamese friend also said the same when I showed her their menu. But I've seen strawberry in salads or Thai som tum before, and I love to try weird food combinations, so Goi Cuon was a perfect stop. We ordered Combo #1 and #2 plus an Avocado & Strawberry Spring Roll. This part of the menu is confusing me. I assume the Special GOI CUON is the Shrimp Crispy Vietnamese Crepes Roll in Combo #1. But then the crispy stuff in the spring roll is not the deep friend crepe roll, it's the small crushed bits VS. in Combo #2, Vietnamese Sausage Pork & Crispy Snack is the deep fried roll... so I think the name of these two crispy stuffs should be swapped? Anyways, I love the assumed, Special GOI CUON. It's my favorite of all the rolls we tried. Pho roll was pretty good too, but noted that it didn't taste anything like a pho bowl. The peanut dipping sauce was really good. I'm not sure what to do with the coconut cream. It was really weird and felt like it didn't belong to any of the rolls... Since the peanut sauce was really good, we finished them quick. The waiter noticed that and gave us an extra one without us even have to ask for more! So nice! @tableformin
google avatar

Nadiyah S.

Yelp
The spring rolls are SO good! They're like mini Vietnamese burritos with rice wrapping =] We got the grilled beef roll (make sure you ask for the nuoc mam cham sauce for the grilled rolls...this is the sauce that's used for the bun noodle salads), shrimp roll, sugar cane shrimp roll (which comes with a rolled up deep fried crispy twill inside that they call "crispy snack" on the menu), and vegan egg rolls. Everything was delish!!! If I had more room in my stomach I would have gotten the crispy crepe and omelette spring rolls. You can order the rolls individually or they also have set menus. I recommend trying a variety of rolls. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Tina L.

Yelp
Very solid pho and cuon. This is a no frills type of place. You place your order at the front counter, and there is a place for you to get your own water and utensils. The food was good. Not life changing, but gets the job done. Very fresh ingredients and solid flavors. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely return. Just fyi, it's located in a small plaza so parking can be tricky.

Yelp
After years of not ordering from Goi Cuon, we decided to give it another try--but unfortunately, it was a letdown. My husband went in when the restaurant was nearly empty (only one other customer), so there was no excuse for mistakes. He ordered two combo meals, Combo 1 & Combo 2, and an extra roll which were clearly listed on the receipt. However, when he got home, we found that the box for Combo 2 only had vegetarian rolls, which was not what we ordered. To top it off, my husband even tipped $5 on a to-go order--for what? There were four other employees standing around doing nothing, yet they still managed to get a simple order wrong. It's frustrating when you support a business again after years, only to be disappointed. Attention to detail and customer service matter, especially when the restaurant isn't even busy. Sadly, this experience didn't make us want to come back anytime soon.

Delaney D.

Yelp
Peanut sauce was GASSSSS. Really fresh and good size!! They skimped a bit on my shrimp and forgot one of my rolls which was catastrophic to my morale but overall really good.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
Not terrible but not awesome. The rolls are made fresh and filled with crisp vegetables, noodles, and your protein of choice. The dipping sauces are weird- i wish they would just give you the classic sauces normally paired with each type of roll. The coconut butter was bad - sweet and savory is a weird way. Portion sizes are small - i had to order 2 entrees to get full. Pho is ok - the broth was a little on the sweet side - but the noodles were fresh and the slices of beef were excellent.

Yelp
Came by here on a Saturday afternoon around 6pm.. it's a smaller restaurant with some tables inside and a lot of orders taken to go. If you do choose to dine in, your order is taken at your table. Anyways, we made our selections, and the wait for our food was only a few minutes. The guy working was busy, but stayed on top of things! I also like the large window looking into one of the kitchen areas. Omgg, if you like Vietnamese eggrolls and banh mi, this is the place for you. They have a lot of selections for spring rolls, and good selection of banh mi, salads, and other main dishes. I chose the pork spring roll and crispy tofu spring roll. We also ordered fried eggrolls, a chicken salad (vermicelli bowl), and banh mi. What can I say, all of it was delicious and tasted so fresh. If you order a banh mi, add egg. Just trust me! Their dipping sauces are on the thicker side which is fine with me because they stick on so well to the rolls. The prices are also comparable, if not slightly cheaper than other restaurants with similar items. a casual spot definitely worth going to! Perfect for a meal or snack.

Yelp
Me and the Mrs were in the area on vacation so we wanted some Vietnamese food. I love goi cuon and my wife wanted their egg coffee. Well dont be deceived by their online menu because the lady on the phone told us the egg coffee is only available on weekends, which their online menu that you can order from does not tell you. We even ordered it even though it wasn't available!! My other complaint is that we needed to extend our pickup time and when we called about our order she proceeded to tell us about the egg coffee only being sold on weekends. What happened if we never called? What if we never called them? What would they have given us? The we got a few goi cuon and they were quite big and stuffed. They were delicious but I was not expecting it to be so expensive and it being sold per roll. Overall I am upset about the false advertised egg coffee they sell only on weekends and how pricey the rolls were. Would only come here if you have money to burn.

Yelp
Was on a cruise and was craving pho. Pho was not worth the $17 for that bowl. Meat was so little for what you get...broth was okay. To top that $6 for a vietnamese coffee that doesnt even taste like it. Waitress didnt look friendly. She was having lunch and watching her phone and was going back to take orders. For all the foodie out there please avoid this place otherwise you will be disappointed. Ambiance is a pay first and go sit down type of place.

Yelp
place is not that big but wonder if the floor can be renovated. lol... it is not dirty but some shows like black spots and feels like dirty. service is quite fast and staffs are nice. for foods: 1. pho beef special: i will say just ok. the broth is not that rich while i expect very rich with great taste. quantity is wise and meats are just ok 2. goi cuon special rice dish: they put combinations of beef, pork, and chicken. the beef and pork are ok but chicken is off. may be because i used to eat in bay area and seldom see served with chicken 3. sugar cane shrimp and pork sausage spring rolls: putting more mints should taste better and thank you for putting the crispy spring rolls which make a bit different from other stores overall, taste is just mediocre while price is also average. three stars for me...

Julia S.

Yelp
One nice thing about Goi Cuon is that it's not too far from Balboa Park - so it's a short uber (or bike ride) away. The owners are very friendly, welcoming each patron in earnestly. There is limited seating, so it helps to know what you're ordering ahead of coming in. You place your order at the counter, noting if you'll be dining in or out. If you're dining in, you seat yourself and your food is brought to your table. I had their beef pho and I can't say that I was particularly impressed - but it was fine. There wasn't anything wrong with the noodles or the protein but the broth wasn't quite to my taste. I felt that it could've been a bit richer. Even after adding in the condiments (onions, jalapeños, bean spouts, lime, and basil), I felt something was still missing. My friend did note that their vermicelli plate was tasty - so maybe I just didn't order their specialty.

Mia L.

Yelp
It's hard to compare a restaurant with what you're use to eating. The spring rolls are not big, nor is it small. I do feel the spring rolls here is a bit smaller than when I get it other fast food type Vietnamese restaurants. It can be costly for just spring rolls. It was good, we got about 3 different types of rolls. They're good but not mind blowing. If I'm in the area I would try it again, but other than that I wouldn't go out of my way.

Yelp
Such a cute place and super food and inexpensive! Service was great and I would definitely come back! Super authentic Vietnamese. I had a Thai tea and a coffee with condensed milk. Both were delicious! They have self serve cucumber water as well. I got 2 shrimp spring rolls and they were delicious! The peanut sauce had fried onion in it. Which gave it a good extra pop of flavor. I wish we got more! My entree was the shrimp vermicelli bowl. Super good. It came with peanut sauce and fish sauce (fish sauce does have a bit of a kick if you don't like spicy) it was super good.

Yelp
summary: pricing is great and the service/food comes out fast. The food was solid, but I did feel like it was missing a little something (flavor-wise) that left me desiring more. When I think of pho, I think of a broth that has a rich depth to the flavor profile and I felt like my bowl was missing a bit of that. That being said, it was still a solid bowl of pho especially for the overall price point here. The goi cuon roll was good! Good bite/snap to the roll, flavor, and dipping sauce. The venue itself is a pretty small area with old-school Asian restaurant seating. Not the most conducive for larger parties, but can totally get the job done if needed. Overall: solid spot and would recommend!

Yelp
Overall: fair priced, fresh, and tasty food, super quick service, in a casual ambiance with an inclusive single stall restroom We ordered beef pho, spring rolls, and the special vermicelli bowl. The food was fairly priced and came out so quickly. It was empty when we got there around 6pm on a Friday, but people rolled in when we were leaving. The pho broth was super fatty, delicious, and flavorful. The vermicelli bowl was fresh and balanced and I enjoyed getting to try a bunch of different meats. The spring rolls were fine, nothing I'd go back for though. The shop was kind of small and sticky. They had high chairs and you can treat yourself to water and extra silverware and bowls which was helpful with having a little one.

Yelp
I was totally surprised by this place! I was originally going to go to the Pho place around the corner but couldn't find a good parking spot and ended up here cause there was parking right in front and boy am i glad i did!! The spring rolls were EXCELLENT! I got 2 of the avo/pickled carrot/sesame ones and 2 pork rolls. Damn. I will definitely be back with friends! The server was so sweet and I loved the homey vibe of the place. Rockin' alter!

Yelp
Such fresh and authentic Vietnamese food! I've had their combo #1 and #2, they are delicious and great portions for the price.

Yelp
This restaurant had become one of my go to places when if comes to eating fresh Vietnamese food. I usually order combo 1 and 2 and share this with my wife. All the rolls are delicious, but the sauces that come with these combos makes this meal memorable. In addition, these combos include vegan soup and jasmine tea. The service has always been great and treated me well. The restaurant has chill vibes, but parking is limited.

Yelp
This place is such a gem and i'm so happy we stumbled upon it. An absolute win for me due to the variety as the menu has plenty of vegetarian options (as well as meat). I love the combos because they have a ton of different things to try with different flavors and textures. The pho rolls and broth are especially tasty, but everything is phenomenal. My favorite on the menu are their sandwiches. I get the tofu ham sandwich with an added egg and it is absolutely remarkable. This place is excellent for when you want something fresh or a variety of textures. The staff is quick to help and we often get our food pretty quickly. They are always kind and helpful. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and has a cute vibe. It seems like a lot of customers order through delivery services as people come in to pick up often. I highly recommend this place, and I can't wait to try more from their menu.

Yelp
This restaurant definitely deserves top ranks and let me tell you why. So Goi Cuon has been on my list for quite some time but since it's quite out of the way from where we normally hang out, I never had the opportunity. Just to forewarn you, parking is very limited.. and you want to avoid parking in chase. We found $4/hr parking a little bit down the alley between the plaza and Chase that's not a far distance away. So I'm a huge mom-and-pop restaurant lover and this place surpassed my expectations. We dined in, but they do have a counter for those who need a quick take out order. There's a limited amount of seating, just fyi. I ordered Combo #2 and hubby ordered the special pho and we got a couple additional goi cuon to share. Everything on my plate was amazing. The shrimp roll was perfectly fried and full of flavor... the chicken dumpling had the perfect combo of crispy with moist and savory fillings.. I always love a good crispy tofu with sweet and sour sauce, the firmness was ideal!.. the spring pork sausage with crispy filling roll was really flavorful and that peanut sauce was EVERYTHING.. but, the star of my dish was the beef pho roll. Oh. My. Goodness. It gave off basil/coconut flavors with each bite! You must use the coconut sauce, it literally makes it SO good. The beef was SO flavorful and so tender. It was nothing I could have anticipated and such a great find. Absolutely loved it! As a side dish, we also ordered the sugarcane shrimp and beef goi cuon which were really good - the peanut sauce really completed this dish. Hubby enjoyed his pho: his high notes are the broth and the generous portions of meat. If you like pho with more meat than noodles, you'll be pleasantly happy to order their pho. Finished off with a Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk to go and it was definitely one of the best Vietnamese meals I've ever had in San Diego. I'm quite jealous of Hillcrest and this amazing gem. I will literally go out of my way to come back here - AMAZING.
