My mom was craving Chinese style food during our visit to the city, and since she loves crab and seafood, we decided to try Golden Crab House. They’re one of the few Asian restaurants open until 9 PM, which worked perfectly for our late dinner plans. We arrived around 8:20 PM, and the staff was kind enough to seat us without hesitation, even though they were nearing closing time. They didn’t rush us at all and allowed us to enjoy our meal while they started cleaning up. Their thoughtful and relaxed approach was really appreciated. They had a $98 special for two that included a whole crab, garlic noodles, egg rolls, and salad—such a great deal, especially compared to other crab spots in the city, which can be pretty expensive. We’ve been to a few, and this one definitely offered good value for what we got. We added green beans to our order which was delicious. We ordered the peppercorn crab, which was tasty, though a bit salty on the outside—as expected with a salt and pepper dish—but the crab meat itself was delicious. Next time, we’ll probably try the garlic butter version to compare. The only minor disappointment was the tea; it was a big pot with just one teabag, so the flavor was a bit weak, but not a dealbreaker. Parking in the area isn’t great, especially at night, so we chose to Uber across town, which worked out fine but took 25 mins from Potrero Hill. There was no wait when we arrived, but since it was a Tuesday night, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a wait earlier in the evening or on weekends. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Golden Crab House. Unassuming, casual family vibe. It doesn’t get as much attention as some of the trendier spots, but we’ll be back for sure.

I recommend coming here on a weekday since it wasn’t busy and we basically had the place to ourselves. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely amazing. We chose the set menu for two and thought the portions were generous. If you get the chance, grab a table by the window so you can enjoy some people watching while you eat.

I went to this restaurant because my friend wanted seafood. We ordered the 2 person special for $98. It came with a whole roasted garlic crab, garlic noodles, spring rolls and a salad. Just right for a couple of hungry diners.

A great option if you are feeling some crab in the Sunset and not spend your whole paycheck! Very casual and quick and fast service. You are not here for ambiance. The garlic noodles are good. I like that this place has some protein! Chicken wings and shaken beef and not just all seafood. The seabass is moist and delicious. But, you are really here because you want some crab. The classic original roasted crab always hit the spot! Oh don't forget to add some vegetables to your diet. The refreshing papaya salad and the sizzling string beans.

I don’t think this place gets enough love. We got the 2 person crab set for $98. Came out with this salad with duck I think and egg rolls. Garlic noodles went well with the crab. Crab is excellent.

Restaurant and service were pretty good. Came here on a Friday night with a large group. Made reservations ahead of time and was seated promptly. Since there were 10 of us we ordered 5 of the prix fixe dinners which came with salad spring rolls and garlic noodles. Crab and other dishes were good and flavorful. My favorite place to go for this is still Thanh Long but this restaurant offers a good deal for couples. Parking in the area can be challenging depending on when you arrive.

Overly priced for dungeness crabs. I tried this place twice. Both takeout. I had the garlic roasted crab and the salted egg yolk crab. The salted egg yolk crab was better. The garlic roasted crab didn't have much flavor or salt. It was kind of bland. The imperial rolls were great! I did enjoy the soup dumplings although not much broth inside. I didn't like the garlic noodles. Again not much garlic flavor there and it was dry. The peppercorn prawns had good flavor but Spicy! And the chicken cabbage salad was okay but doesn't hold up the next day. Overall, a decent place but prices are outrageous. I wouldn't take a date here.

Crab + Garlic Noodles, if there's a staple San Francisco dinner, it's definitely one of the top contender. Went on a Thursday night with 6 ppl and we didn't have an issue and was sat down immediately at one of their round tables. Restaurant was roomy and modern. Didn't want to think too much in ordering so since there were 6 of us, we chose the dinner for 6 menu. Came with 2 crabs, papaya salad, sea bass, shaken beef, chicken wings, green beans and fried banana and ice cream. Asked the server if we can switch one of the crabs to make it Salted Egg Crab - $2 extra and no problem. Food was great, service was quick, and i didnt have to go vallet and drive down the beach for crabs and garlic noodles *winkwink A+

We recently visited this restaurant and opted for a set menu for 6 that came with two different types of crabs, shrimp papaya salad, chicken, beef, veggies, garlic noodles, and more. We also added two soups, crab fried rice, and imperial rolls to our order. The crabs were delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The imperial rolls were tasty and had a nice crunch. The chicken wings were blazing and crispy, a definite highlight! The best part was using the sauce from the roasted crab and mixing it with the garlic noodles--an absolute flavor bomb. The shrimp papaya salad was refreshing and balanced well with the richer dishes. The crab fried rice was well-prepared and complemented the meal nicely. The service was excellent; the staff were attentive and constantly refilled our waters without us having to ask. The restaurant is small, with maybe 10 tables, but they are able to accommodate larger groups, which was a plus for us. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for a family meal or a gathering with friends. This place really hit the spot for Asian food, and we left thoroughly satisfied. I highly recommend trying it out if you're in the area.

Golden crab is always enjoyable and great for large parties. The wait staff are always kind and make sure everything comes out in a timely matter. Highlights from here Egg yolk prawns (4/5) - Egg yolk anything is extremely fragrant and flavorful. The sauce is perfect but I do remember their prawns being plumper before. Peppercorn short rib (5/5) - the fat to lean ratio was perfect and though the meat was perfectly charred on the outside, the meat was succulent. The aromatics made the perfect balance of salty and spicy. Crab (4/5)- Their crabs are decently sized and each flavor is unique. My favorites are the egg yolk crab and the garlic crab. Great spot to check out for a group setting so that you can try a bit of everything.

This is my second time here. We had the set for 6 people. Plenty of food and lots of variety. This set came with 2 crabs (garlic and pepper) our families favorite was the garlic. Also enjoyed all of the other dishes. I only took pics of a few dishes, but everything was good, definitely be coming back again!

We got the Crab Dinner for 4 ($198 according to their website). In it included imperial rolls, papaya shrimp salad, steamed shiitake sea bass, and imperial crab. we also ordered garlic noodles for the table (MUST TRY), green beans, and this fried fish of some sort (was very salty). the place was not busy at all thursday night, and it was very clean and elegant. the attentive service got our food out quick and gave us wipes after getting hands with the crab lol.

Food is delicious. We got the crab set for 2 and subbed out the roasted crab with the chili crab, and the string beans. Garlic noodles are properly garlicky, crab is tender (though not spicy), and imperial rolls are crunchy. Chicken cabbage salad is also crunchy and delicious. Service was great. Interior is nice and clean and well spaced, not crowded like other restaurants. The high ceilings are nice!

Been having a hankering for crab lately and so browsing Yelp for some ideas. Totally forgot about this place tho it's super popular in the Sunset. That peppercorn crab was delicious last time we had it.

We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday on a Saturday night. I originally used OpenTable to book my reservations but called twice to change the time to 7pm and to confirm my reservations. I asked for a large table that would seat all of us and surprisingly, they said it wasn't a problem. There were 15 of us and we sat at the largest round table we have ever seen or dined at. Our table was not set up when we arrived. Anna said that she mixed up the dates. The restaurant was packed so they had to hustle and ask people at two large tables to get up so that they could roll out the round table top and a lazy Susan that were resting along the wall. They had a pre-set menu for 10 for $488. I thought about ordering that for ease and adding to it but I opted to order a la carte so we could try more dishes and I believed we would have larger portions to share. Our total before tax and tip was $486 for the below: 3 Xiao Long Bao 2 Pork and Shrimp Dumplings 2 Imperial Rolls 2 Peppercorn Wings 1 Spicy Wings 1 Hot and Sour Soup 1 Crab and Asparagus Soup 2 Garlic Noodles 1 Braised Green Beans 1 Shaking Beef 1 Salted Egg Yolk Crab 1 Peppercorn Crab 1 Garlic Roasted Crab 1 Crab Fried Rice 1 Oxtail Clay Pot 1 Spicy Mapo Tofu This was a good amount of food and we finished it all. The Crabs were delicious as were all the Wings and Imperial Rolls. The other dishes like the Soups, Dumplings, Oxtail, and Shaking Beef were average. The flavors and fry were great on the Wings and Crab. They were not overcooked. Nothing that we ordered was bad. People liked the Garlic Noodles and I liked the Crab Fried Rice. Overall, we all enjoyed our food. The service was not that good from the start. Other tables waved their hands for service. Granted they were busy but they didn't time our food well while other tables got all their food at once. Our food took a really long time to come out and they sent one portion of Wings and Imperial Rolls out so a third of the table munched on Chicken and another third started on Rolls and a third of the table waited. The rest of the dinner rolled out in the same fashion. We didn't get the bill until 9:30pm so were there for a while. Being that all 15 of us sat at one table and the food was mostly really good, I'll give them 4 stars.

They absolutely deserve every bit of these 5 stars! Every dish we tried was simply delicious! I recently celebrated a friend's birthday dinner with a group of four, and I must say, not a single complaint was uttered throughout the evening. We found ourselves continuously raving about the exceptional quality of the food. Everything we ordered, from the appetizers such as the chicken and celery dumplings, crab soup dumplings, egg yolk prawns, to the main courses like crab fried rice, garlic roasted crab, spicy chili crab, peppercorn chicken wings and asparagus, received a perfect 5/5 rating from all of us. You simply cannot go wrong with any of these selections! We grubbed so fast I didn't get many pictures ..oops. In terms of service, I would rate it 3/5. While the male waiter seemed rather indifferent, the female staff members were incredibly pleasant and accommodating. Despite this minor setback, I am already eagerly searching for any excuse to return for another delightful dining experience.

We're back again to finally try the peppercorn roast crab and by far, one of the best roasted crab we had. We also had their peppercorn wings again. Dry fried string beans this time. The dry fried string beans was a little sweeter than we're use to but still good.

We were here 4 mos ago and returned for a second dinner. We ordered the $188 for 4 family set menu to share and added several dishes. The imperial roll was good. We ordered an additional garlic noodles in addition to what came with the menu. I thought the garlic noodle didn't have enough garlic flavor and I've had better at Perilla restaurant. The salt pepper crab was presented very nicely but wasn't as tasty as the one we had 4 mos ago. Crab season is officially over and the crab wasn't as meaty and tasty as it was 4 mos ago. The sea bass was fresh and not fishy and nicely cooked but was bland. The pork dumplings were bland. The salt pepper pork chops was good as well as the crab fried rice. My favorite dish was the green bean dish. It was tasty and well seasoned. Several groups came in for dinner and also ordered crab.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered their roasted crab for $80.00 for take out before 12:30 pm. When I arrived at the restaurant, there was no one eating there. My order was still being cooked. The roast crab came out in pieces which is what I preferred. The flavor was very good. It was comparable to Thanh Long's (their competitor) roast crab. I would order Golden Crab House's roast crab again. There is no parking lot. I had my husband drop me off and circle around the block as parking is metered and 2 hour parking and is not easy to find.

I'm told that GCH is the red headed step child of PPQ, but I personally like this place better. The food is well seasoned and includes everything one would hope for in a complete crab dinner. Would love to repeat. BB

Food was good. Ordered 2 crabs and few dishes to go with it. The crab was good except one of them had lot of meat and the other was just so so .. the sea bass was pretty good and the garlic noodles. The other dishes were kind of small tho for the price they are charging.... The ox tail clay pot was toooo salty.... Overall was good nothing memorable. But if your are looking for Asian style crab then this is the place. At least u know their crabs tasted fresh.

"Golden Crab" haha Is this Vietnamese--no it's food in USA. I got hot and sour soup and spicy crispy chicken wings. Hot and sour soup is yummy. Maybe try the crab sometime my husband pays haha--on Irving St

This place recently rose up the ranks among my top choices for crab dining in the city, and its standout is undeniably the salted egg yolk crab. Despite being relatively less known compared to its more famous counterparts, this place manages to hold its own and delivers something truly exceptional that sets it apart from the rest Salted Egg Yolk Crab (5/5): they are very generous with the salted yolk and I adore how the richness and umami of the yolk envelop each succulent and meaty morsel of crab. Every bite is a umami bomb. The delicate grains from the salted egg yolk, the crispy fried batter, combined with the oceanic essence of the crab and a hint of buttery goodness, creates a profoundly unique and satisfying mouthfeel that I can't get enough of! While the salted egg yolk crab easily deserves a perfect 5/5 rating, the other menu items fall within the realm of standard fare and don't quite reach the level of distinction. For example the garlic crab and the pepper varieties, in my opinion, were good but nothing special. The restaurant itself boasts a clean and unpretentious ambiance, in line with most other Chinese restaurants in the area. The service is good, we got seated and served quickly If you happen to be hankering for crab and want to explore a different crab spot in SF, I strongly encourage you to give Golden Crab House a try; you won't be disappointed!

Decent crab, but not great. The string beans still had the strings in them. I'll be back to try another flavor of their crab - but skip the sides. We caught the managers and not the wait staff and they were surprisingly hostile people. Oh well, the bathroom set up tells you that they're not here for the niceties, just the crab.

We'd been craving chili crab and decided to check out this place in the sunset given good reviews. We walked in on a Friday night at 8 and the restaurant was about 40% full. There were mostly families in there and that adds up -- most of the layout had large, circular tables for 6-8 people to sit around. The menu is pretty straightforward. There are a handful of appetisers, a handful of entrees, a few rice and noodle dishes and then the star of the show -- lobster and crab! We got the peppercorn tofu (5/5), garlic noodles (5/5), and curry crab (3/5). The tofu was so good!!! It was really spicy and crisp yet tender. The garlic noodles were exactly like they sound -- which was perfect. Definitely the most garlicky noodles I've ever had. The crab itself was kind of a miss? The crab was tender but had a lot of bitterness to it. The curry sauce also tasted synthetic. It was evident that there was a lot of corn starch and sweetened syrup of some sort that made the sauce goopy. The meal ended with complimentary coconut ice cream. I'm not sure if I'd go again for the crab unless probed, but I definitely see myself getting boxes and boxes of the garlic noodles! Parking in the are can be challenging, but there are a lot of bus routes that stop nearby.

Had a nice family dinner here at the Golden Crab. We had a family dinner. We lucked out and got a table. We were a party of 6. The place was full. It appeared that there was only one person taking orders. He was working as fast as he could, and one other person helping bring out the dishes from the kitchen. Maybe they weren't expecting a full restaurant, but the food came out slow. We were ok, since we were all just chatting. The guy apologized and gave us extra garlic noodles on the house. The noodles were nice and garlicky. We ordered a couple roasted crabs. They were delightful. I would say they were on par with crabs from Crustaceans, but at slightly a cheaper price. We all thought the crabs were yummy. And although the food came out a little slow, the staff were very friendly.

quality has really gone down over the years. the tiny little crab barely had any meat and reminded me of the fried crab you can find at the seafood counter at asian supermarkets. way over cooked. so was the sea bass. It may have all been frozen, not fresh. Pork chops also overcooked. Yet prices have climbed. It was much better when they first opened. Id rather pay a third of the price for larger portions and better quality. Lady working was trying her best to be professional and courteous but she seemed very unhappy. The restaurant was empty.

Came in here for dinner on a Saturday night about 7:45pm, restaurant was empty. Looks like we may have missed the dinner rush. the interior of the restaurant was modern and clean. We started of with: Appetizers, Crab Soup XLB's, this tasted good but no soup inside was kind of dried. 4 Stars. Peppercorn Chicken Wings, this was made perfectly seasoned. the peppercorn was just right not over powering. One of the best wings I had. 5 Stars. Dinner Entree, Garlic Noodles, good texture with perfect amount of butter and garlic. 5 Stars. Salted Egg Yolk Prawns, this was my favorite dish, it was made perfect just the right amount of egg yolks. 10 Stars!!!! Steamed Shiitake Sea Bass, it only had 2 little pieces of mushroom, they should of put more on it. The soy sauce with oil went well with the fish. 5 Stars. The service was great. They kept checking on us. We are differently coming back. Overall i give this establishment a 4.5 stars. Round it up.

This crab house makes me feel like being part of their back kitchen helpers whipping all that snazzy garlic noodles and crab together. Like I would literally swim in their sauce. lol Always finger licking, who needs their crab bibs?!? We come here probably 1 to 2 times a year to celebrate birthdays and Thanksgiving. Passing up on the turkey for their set menu. What we do towards the end of our meal is pack all that leftover sauce from our garlic crab and bits of seasoning from our peppercorn chicken wings and use that baby up over our rice at home and dress it up with some other foods. Family owned and feels like my late mom and late grandmother's cooking. Most of all everyone is so courteous and super friendly family service.

The best part is that you can totally customize it to your taste! We finished our visit with a nice dinner at the Golden Crab House on Irving Street on a busy, cold San Francisco evening... We enjoyed the restaurant dining area and the servers were very nice and helpful.. We ordered the 6 Person set and added the Egg plant and an extra double order of the garlic noodles..We had two different crabs prepared with garlic butter and black pepper.. Both were great but we enjoyed the black pepper the best!

Instead of cooking all day in the kitchen for Thanksgiving, we decided to pick up some food to go. We saw this place is the sister restaurant of PPQ, so we figured it would be good. We ordered the crab for 4 set menu. - Peppercorn Chicken Wings: 8/10 very tasty. Good flavors with a little spice. - Shrimp Papaya Salad: 7/10. Good dressing. Not too spicy like other places which works for my family, but I like spicy. - Steamed Shiitake Sea bass: 9/10. Super delicious. The sea bass was tender and the sauce paired perfectly well with the dish. Just wish they provided a larger piece. Whole family loved it. - Roasted Crab: 6/10. We had high hopes for this dish, but it fell flat. Not as much flavor as we expected. This dish was the main reason we choose this restaurant. So disappointing for an $80 crab. - 5 Spices Chicken: 3/10. Super dry. We like the fried shallots on top, but the chicken was dry. - Braised String Beans: 8/10. Cooked well and good seasoning. Would definitely get this again. - Sautéed Eggplant: 7/10. Pretty good. Good sauce. - House Garlic Noodles: 6/10. This was another dish we had high hopes for. The noodles were lacking the garlicky good flavor. Overall, the food is about 3 stars and the price brings it down to about 2.5 stars. For $188 + tax = $204.50, I would expect the food to taste at least 8 or 9 out of 10 for all dishes. They do provide a good quantity. Not sure if we would go back there again. If we do, it would definitely be for the sea bass.

Great crab place with friendly staff. We ordered the steamed crab with ginger and the roasted crab with garlic and butter. We also ordered the garlic noodles and ox tail clay pot, which were good and flavorful but small dishes. Crab was easy to crack and get out with the utensils they give you. They give you a bib to wear and hand wipes for afterwards.

Came here to grab some lunch prior to heading out to the pier & while Golden Crab House has quite a high rating, this establishment wasn't my pick when it came down to options for our meal... First and foremost, parking is terrible. Annoying yes, but absolutely expected when it comes to visiting The City. We found street parking a few blocks down and thankfully we all had on some comfy shoes. Our party of 3 entered into kind of a bare restaurant with only 2 other tables being occupied and there was only one employee whom we saw and dealt with during the entire duration of the visit. With us wanting to do some snacking at the pier, the plan was to order lightly to allow for continuous eating. Lunch consisted of: House Garlic Noodles Shrimp Fried Rice Braised String Beans Peppercorn Chicken Wings Food: Fried rice was good in its flavor but so very dry. So unexpectedly dry that it was kind of hard to eat. Shrimp was butterflied completely, creating 2pcs from one. Not worth the $14 price tag imo. The garlic noodles were okay. I liked that this dish didn't taste primarily of cheese like most versions do. The garlic flavor was subtle and the noodles had a nice bite to them. Braised string beans were probably the worst dish of our meal when it came to flavoring. My daughter loves herself a good plate of beans so we are no strangers to this type of dish. GCH's style had a strong tart-like flavor that simply overpowered the veggies. Not sure if this is normal but I've never had any green beans taste in this manner. With all of the posting on this item, I had high hopes but the taste just didn't mesh well with my tastebuds. Peppercorn chicken wings were AMAZING!! Hands down, the best purchase of the meal. These babies came out scorching hot, cooked to perfection. The outer crispy factor didn't dissipate with time, the meat was moist, and the spicy garlic flavoring bits were delicious. 2 stars for the overall experience. Customer service was very short and downright unfriendly when it came down to interactions with the female running the restaurant. It would be remotely understandable if she had been understaffed and overwhelmed but the lack of traffic didn't justify that. Food quality and portions didn't reflect well with the costs. Although I didn't get a chance to sample their infamous crab, I wouldn't bother coming back.

My recent dining experience at Golden Crab House in the Sunset district was an incredibly memorable experience. From the moment we sat down, the attention to detail was evident as we were given these adorable bibs featuring their restaurant's crab mascot. We ordered two crab with different flavors: the salted egg yolk and the garlic flavored crabs. We also opted for the entrees: stringed beans, garlic pea sprouts, garlic noodles, garlic shrimp, and an oxtail clay pot recommended by the host. Each dish was so yummy, but the crab really stole the show by being super rich in flavor. I'm already contemplating a return & I'm eager to explore additional crab flavors on my next visit! The bill came out to be $400 for six people, including tip and tax, which felt reasonable given the quality and abundance of the food.

If you're just getting to the restaurant and reading this, I'll get straight to the point. You can thank me later. Ordering If you're just a couple or 3 people then the portions are ok. If you're 4 or more adults make sure you have enough orders. I'm gonna say about 6-7 orders for 4 adults. Portion size is aligned with their prices for city standard or a bit on the smaller side. In regards to the set menus, here's my tip. We're a party of 7 (3 young kids) and considered the set menu for 4. It has like 7 items. When we broke each one down it's the same as ordering individually so there you have it. You can just order on your own or mix/match individual items from the set menu. Food We pretty much got everything on the set for 4 but replaced the papaya salad with fried tofu (4/5). We also added crab fried rice which was good (4/5). I think the 5 spice chicken was nice (4/5) but it taste more like boneless crispy chicken like in most chinese places. How's the crab? I like the sauce of the roasted crab (4/5). It goes well with any of the starches (rice or noodles). The crab is $75 and it's of average size. One crab feeds 2-3 people. I didn't find the garlic noodles that great (3/5). Their vegetable dishes are fine. Pretty much similar to Chinese restaurants. I find the string beans a little overpowering on the sauce (3/5). This is our 3rd time eating here. Each time we come here it's $120 per family. Again, we always have 2 kids that eat like toddlers so it's really just 2 adults. My wife likes crab and she says it's good. I guess we'll be back.

This has been my go-to for years w/ friends to celebrate each time I get a new job but probably my last time. We usually get the set menu and add more garlic noodles and a few more dishes. Portions feel like they've gotten smaller, particularly that sea bass. The garlic butter crab is the best compared to the salted egg yolk and salt + pepper versions. Green beans didn't seem fresh while the chicken was dry. The small extra plate of garlic noodles looked like 1 portion but was counted as 2 - whoa. The total count of garlic noodles was supposed to be 4 but they came out at separate times. The service is what got me this time. Took a while to flag them down even though we sat at the table closest to them. Our Diet Coke needed reminding after 20 minutes, water and teapot needed to be refilled but had to ask, and the guy seemed annoyed to serve us. The other lady seemed chummy w/ other tables but kept blowing by ours. Gratuity was not included on the check for a party of 8 but the minimum suggested tip amount started at 18% when service received was more like 5%.

Planned a dinner with our new In-Laws in San Francisco. Checked out the reviews of Golden Crab House; "better then PPQ, Crustacean, Thang Long" per one reviewer., so we made a reservation. Location on Irving St. which is notorious for hard to find parking, we lucked out and all of us found a space right in front. The restaurant is spacious with several large tables to accommodate our party of 9. There is a set Crab meal for 10 which includes all their best dishes with two different styles of crab. Service was excellent. **** as we got our plastic crab bibs I noticed they had PPQ Crab Island on it, so I asked the woman manager who confirmed that she was the sister of the owner of PPQ and the are associated.

Miserable, cold, grumpy people serving us, food was decent, parking sucks...we won't be returning.

PPQ has always been a family favorite, so today we decided to try their sister restaurant Golden Crab House, and it is just as good if not a little better. The food is very similar, but the service at Golden Crab is better probably because it's smaller. Otherwise, both offer the most succulent, delicious crabs in SF. Golden Crab has a specialty crab dish - the salted egg yolk crab - that's their signature dish. Today we got the preset Crab Dinner for 10 and every dish was 5/5. It comes with 3 crabs - 2 roasted and 1 peppercorn - but you can substitute for the salted egg yolk crab at no extra charge. What we had... + Imperial rolls - deep fried and very crunchy. Comes with lettuce, mint leaves, and sweet chili sauce. + Shrimp papaya salad - fresh, crunchy, shredded papayas and onions topped with shrimp. Very refreshing and delicious + Peppercorn chicken wings - OMG so good. Crunchy, juicy, peppery. + Crabs - the stars of the show. We got roasted, salted egg yolk, and peppercorn. Each were perfectly cooked, succulent and drenched in flavor. The roasted crab was drenched in garlic butter, the salted egg yolk crab was not too salty and had great umami flavor, and the peppercorn had a deep fried coating and peppery goodness. + Garlic noodles - the noodles had a nice chewiness and good garlic flavor but not overwhelming in garlic. + Steam shiitake sea bass - tender fish that melts in your mouth + Five spice chicken - boneless chicken that is flattened and tender with a 5 spice barbeque-y flavor + Shaken beef - another stand-out dish. So tender and yummy. + Braised string bean - somehow they made ordinary beans extra tasty + Ice cream - the meal ended with a scoop of ice cream - choice of vanilla, coconut, and matcha. I got the matcha, and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Can't say enough about their food and service.

Really good! We stopped in at lunch, which was quiet, but the service was wonderful. Our server was really attentive. We ordered the crab set for two. Everything was amazing. The chicken salad was nice and crunchy with a light vinaigrette, the garlic noodles were so flavorful and chewy, the crab was covered in garlic you can't go wrong. I'm still full 6 hours later writing this. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it.

Amazing crab, our go to at least once a month. Love their lobster fish and the rice and noodles are BOMB. Very clean establishments, easy going vibe and obviously awesome food!

Always fresh always delicious... Super friendly service from manager/owner lady... The younger guy who speaks well English tho kind of bothered me when I noticed he was only taking down orders and checks but not helping older lady clean up, while she was doing both. That honestly hurt my heart to see.. could have been her son. Other than my own personal feelings.... The restaurant food is absolutely amazing... I ordered a whole peppercorn roasted crab, crab fried rice, and the veggie fried rolls... Rice and crab was 10/10... the egg rolls was not so great and felt it could have been made better by not frying it and soaked with grease so 5/10 on the rolls. You gotta give it a try:) Enjoy!

I am so glad I found this place! Come for yummy crab and to dent your wallet :) We got the Salted Egg Yolk Crab and Garlic Noodles and it was absolutely delicious. The crab was tender and tasted fresh - the salted egg yolk around the crab was so flavorful and fun to eat. You can't go wrong with the Garlic Noodles, which is about obviously way cheaper than the crab - so good together! If you have too much food and take it to-go, I recommend air frying the crab cause that hits different. The ambience was a bit strange for me - seemed pretty old school, trying to be fancy but outdated. Overall, I'd come back!

I came here for my birthday dinner and ordered the 10 person set menu and absolutely fell in LOVE. I love that we got to try all the crabs (loved the peppercorn over the salted egg) and added an order of the peppercorn wings because they were such a hit. The food came out really quickly and everything was packed with flavor, largely portioned and perfect! My favorites were obviously the crab and wings, but also the five spice chicken and imperial rolls. If you go, I'd recommend going with a group to order one of their set menus to be able to try everything! 10/10 would go back & love that their prices aren't over the roof!

My fiancé and I always saw this place whenever we were in Irving but we never tried it until now. At first we thought this place was a bit expensive before; but now we have money to spend xD Upon our arrival there was no one in the restaurant! It was super quiet and we were seated so quickly. I was surprised to see it so empty, but I'm not too sure if people were at the sister restaurant (PPQ on Clement). My fiancé and I ordered: -Crab Dinner for 2 ($92) +this comes with garlic noodles, chicken cabbage salad, and imperial rolls -Peppercorn Chicken Wings ($15) -Sweet & Spicy Prawns ($20ish?) I have to say everything we tried was super fresh and made to order. -Chicken Cabbage Salad: this was a very nice salad that had light pieces of mint throughout. It was a nice palette cleanser and refreshing to eat. -Imperial rolls: these were so hot when I took the first bite; but that's when you know it's made to order xD great crunch and flavor to these!! -garlic noodles: these were okay. I expected more garlic flavor to these, but adding the garlic butter sauce from the crab made it even better. -peppercorn chicken: I thought this might be a bit spicy because of the peppercorns. To our surprise, there were tons of crispy garlic and these were so delicious!!! Highly recommend trying these out. -Sweet & Spicy Prawns: these were delicious!!! They weren't overly sweet and the prawns itself were a great size. They are a bit sticky; so I do recommend using a fork if you don't want to have sticky fingers. -Roasted Garlic Butter Crab: boyyy the crab was amaaazing. The crab itself was cooked perfectly and there were tons of garlic butter throughout although crab is a pain to get crab meat out from, the tools they gave us was super handy. They even gave us wet wipes to help clean our fingers too. This won't be the last time we come back because we were both pleasantly surprised that it took us this long to try this place out. Check this place out and support this restaurant!!

How can you not love crab! I've been here a few times, and it has never been disappointing! The crab is so fresh You can easily make a reservation on Yelp! I would definitely make a reservation if you have a large party. This time, we opted for the 2 person prix fixe meal which included imperial rolls, chicken salad, garlic noodles and crab! We paid an extra 2 dollars to have it be salted egg crab, it normally comes with roasted.

The crab was listed as Market Price, but when the Crab Season has been started over a week, they still charge for one crab at $85. It is not market price. The service is poor, the glass is dirty, the crab is not good at all. The worst part is that I found out they charged more than the bill: including tips, my bill was $164.80 for a three person's lunch, but I was charged $174.80. Just found out when I was reviewing bank statements. Never be back.

The crab here is very good! Its big and tastes clean (not old). If you get the family meal, its actually a good deal. The only reason I docked a star was because they remove the guts/liquid gold of the crab :( I know most people wouldn't eat it but iykyk. Its umami, its bitter, its fishy, and makes you smarter (or so my dad said to get us kids to not waste anything). Its like a natural soup and gills too. Its one of those things where you were really expecting something and looking forward to it. Kinda makes me wonder what they do with it....hopefully its used in other recipes.

We arrived at Golden Crab House at about 5:45 on a Saturday and was happy to see that we could be seated immediately. On our visit we were a party of three and we had the salted egg yolk crab, garlic noodles, Chinese broccoli, and Steamed shiitake sea bass. The salted egg yolk crab was delicious and I feel like I have never seen crab prepare this way before. Although it's name kind of makes you feel like it would be overly salty it's definitely a great balance. This is prepared with Shell on and there's really no way around using your hands to eat it, probably not a good first date order but if you're here with anyone that you know relatively well I'd say it is a MUST ORDER. They have bibs as well as offer you a container of wet wipes so as far as mess goes I think they do a great job of trying to help you stay clean. The garlic Chinese broccoli was prepared well, it had a good crunch to it, but really we just ordered this so that we felt like we had some veggie on the table. The garlic noodles are pretty simple but what I love is that it is so aromatic, they do not skimp on the garlic, and I felt like it was a great way to soak up some of the other dishes. And now for the surprising front runner - I feel like crab and salted egg yolk are going to be obvious wins just because they have so much umami and flavor and they're just so rich - and while I did enjoy that - for me, I was pleasantly surprised by the steamed shiitake sea bass. The sea bass is perfectly steamed - The texture was perfect it was just the right amount of done that it held up to the sauce really well while still instantly melting your mouth. The garnish of shiitake mushroom as well as green onion gave it a subtle flavor pairing. The ginger highlights the freshness and this is all done with a delicate soy sauce base. This was truly so good - like, if you were full and there was still a bite left you would go for that bite.

guests visiting and deciding on crab for lunch....thinking about ppq, but finding golden crab house...a sister restaurant?...parking difficult, but finding meter parking not too far away...restaurant was empty on a weekend...asked if we wanted tea and taking...later finding $8 tea charge for 4 adults on the check...they really should inform customers if they charge extra...starting with some pot stickers $12 and imperial rolls $11...both were well constructed and good...crab fried rice $15 and garlic noodles $11 next...both portions were small...both very plain looking and hardly seeing any crab in the fried rice...five spice chicken $20 and salted egg yolk crab $77...chicken was savory and tasty...crab was decent, but thought way overpriced...$200 total for 2 families (4 adults and 3 children)...

Excellent food and service in a nicely decorated modern space with high ceilings. The food was very tasty (and not salty). The garlic shrimp is a winner. The crab fried rice was soft and delicious.

Originally learned about Golden Crab House from watching one of Mikey Chen's videos. So I decided that I gotta try this since I haven't had Dungeness crab in a long time. Had reservations for 6PM on a Saturday. When we got there, we were seated right away. The crabs are at market price so the price probably changes every so often. If you want to know before coming, you can always check their online website. Their website actually lists the price of the crab. When we went, if you wanted a Dungeness crab, they were at $75 per. Honestly, a tad high and a little weird that you pay per instead of per pound. What if they were vastly different sizes? I guess that's the norm. But they also have a crab dinner for two at $98 that comes with a Dungeness crab, chicken salad, imperial rolls, and garlic noodles. Shoot, I was going to order the crab and noodles anyways so might as well get the set! For the crab, you can choose whatever flavor (might be an extra cost) too so we got the salted egg yolk for an extra $2. The chicken salad was very refreshing and light. The pieces of chicken were tender and had good flavor. Great start to the meal. The imperial rolls are pretty much viet egg rolls and they even provide fish sauce for you to dip it in. Pretty decent as well. The crab comes in nice and hot! They give you everything that you'll need for it: cracker, bib, wet towels, more napkins, etc. It was pretty delicious even though it was a tad on the oily side. The garlic noodles were good after you eat the crab or you can eat it with the crab. When we tried it before eating the crab, it was really bland. It is definitely a dish that needs to be eaten with something else. Overall, pretty good meal. I'm glad that we got to try it. I've never had salted egg yolk crab before (had the shrimp version though). It can get a tad heavy but that's what the sides are for. Would recommend if you really like crab and don't mind the price tag. There is only street parking FYI.

Second time coming here and always good and fresh really great service. And also got free ice cream.
