The 8 Best Dim Sum Restaurants In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"Golden Dim Sum in Chinatown may be a little worn in—or just waiting to undergo a massive renovation like the shiny new digs at Fung’s and Ocean Palace—but it's the Catonese food at Golden that keeps your attention. Order everything here via the sheet on your table (with help from the full-color picture menus). Everything comes out hot and fresh at a fast clip, with the steam buns, especially the sweet and crushable BBQ pork, as standouts. And snacking on everything in a red and teal dining room straight out of a 1980s imagining of a Cantonese restaurant feels all the more fun, even without the classic cart service." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene, mai pham

Home-run items include the magnificent pan-fried pork dumplings, salt and pepper squid, and the #51 fried egg custard ball with egg yolk and almond coating, but that’s not covering it all. Golden Dim Sum Review - Chinatown - Houston - The Infatuation

"For fans of brightly colored dining rooms, 1980s decor, and dim sum, check out Golden Dim Sum in Chinatown. It’s possible the dining room at Golden looks exactly the same as the day it opened—aggressively teal walls, gold and red dragon banners—with the only addition being a full-color wallpaper of every dish on the menu permanently adhered to an entire wall. Don’t know what Golden serves? Well, the second you shift any direction in the dining room you definitely will. And while these aren’t shiny new digs, Golden still makes excellent dim sum, especially any of the fluffy steamed buns, every single day of the week. So grab a paper menu and mark up as many dishes as possible with a group of friends or just a casual dumpling-themed dinner." - Chelsea Thomas

Google
A simple, no-frills dim sum spot in Bellaire. It’s nothing fancy, but the food is great. The service is super fast, not the friendliest, but that’s typical for traditional places like this. Portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. I stop by every time I’m in Houston. They also have plenty of vegetarian options, which is a nice and uncommon for dim sum. Definitely recommend!

Google
This spot may not be the most glamorous or flavorful on the block, but it has a certain charm—especially for those who appreciate a friendly atmosphere. While the dim sum and ambience are pretty average, what really sets this place apart is the personable service; my friend always enjoys chatting with the servers. The standout dish here is the honeycomb tripe, which I highly recommend trying if you’re in the area.

If you’re looking for the best dim sum in Houston, this is it ❤️❤️❤️❤️ order by the number on a piece of paper and sit back to wait excitedly for your tasty treats!! Plenty of seating if you’re organizing a party too. Great atmosphere 👍👍 the staff is awesome. Check it out ✅✅✅✅✅

Google
I ordered wonton noodle soup and several dumplings. While eating, I discovered multiple flies in my soup—not just one or two, but several. I informed the server, and instead of apologizing, she simply said she couldn’t refund the soup (which I hadn’t even asked for). One or two flies might be an accident, but several is a serious red flag—it makes you question the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Google
The place feels dated and dark. Food tastes good but is not fresh and the ingredients they use seem low quality. Shrimp ha gow has the shrimp minced and not whole shrimp. Some of the steamed dishes are still cold. The price is affordable though.

Google
I always order the house special pad Thai noodles. It’s delicious and wholesome. The dumplings and the desserts are delicious as well. If you like dumplings then you’d be spoiled for choices here. The service is sharp and the waitresses are courteous. The restaurant seems a bit dated, if this does not matter to you then you will have a wonderful experience of enjoying the food here. My suggestion to the owners would be to get some more Ventilation in place and play some local music in the background and maybe even add some local fragrance. You may be surprised with what this does.

Google
Stopped in 6/5/23 just after 1pm. The place doesn't look like much from outside but the food they're putting together in the kitchen is really good. Everything came out nice and hot as soon as it was ready. Had lunch with a friend here and it did not disappoint. The menu is extensive so we we will definitely be back for more in the future. The shrimp dim sum was by far my favorite, simple but so good.

So, me and my girl's family meant up here for my future niece's birthday dinner, which I have a feeling has nothing to do with her. Once you're seated, you give the server all you want to order, and it comes out, and they place it on the center of the table, where it turns. So everyone can get something off the table, I love that. The whole dinner I had a variety of food I'm not used to, but open too. So I really can't tell you what I ordered. But the food was really good. Some were a surprise to me. Service was good. This was definitely an experience I won't forget.

Yelp
I'm not the type of person to leave reviews but I really felt the need for this one. As someone with a severe food allergy it's upsetting when restaurants don't fully disclose their ingredients in their dishes. I had ordered the chive dumplings thinking the filling would be vegetarian. What the description did not say was that it was a chive and shrimp mixture. I am severely allergic to shrimp. When I told my server that I didn't know it had shrimp she looked at me surprised and said "yes it has shrimp". Even after explaining my allergy it wasn't comped or anything like that. After that I didn't feel comfortable finishing any of my food.

Yelp
I wish I would've snagged more photos!!!! We came during lunch time, and were able to get SO much food for a cheap price. Did NOT leave hungry. The overall ambiance was more like walking into a HUGE motel lobby with a chandelier and tons of tables everywhere. As soon as I walked in, I knew they meant business.

Yelp
This is our go-to spot for an authentic dim sum experience. Nestled in a cozy hole-in-the-wall, they serve up freshly cooked food and a wide variety of dim sum options. But don't be fooled by the small size - they offer an impressive array of traditional and lesser-known Chinese dishes. The staff is fast-paced and efficient, ensuring you're seated promptly on weekdays. And while it can get busy on the weekends, the quality of the food and the intimate atmosphere make it worth the potential wait. We highly recommend this place for an authentic Chinese dining experience that won't break the bank

Yelp
Very good dum sum place. Not as good as the old Kim Son or Fungs kitchen but it's adequate. You need to order the food. Plenty of options. Food taste is good. Just hit the spot for dim sum. Location: in a small complex with somewhat limited parking spaces, especially on Sunday around noon time. Staff: well.. typical dimsum place (barely speak English) but sufficient to order things correctly. It's a good thing they have photos of the foods. The ambiance is a little crowded at times. Somewhat loud if there are lots of ppl.

Yelp
The egg tart was good but that was it. The meat in the siu mai had a strange smell, to the point that we didn't eat it. The bbq pork pastries were soft and not crispy as it should be. The sticky rice was mushy. The meat in the xiao long bao was mushy and didn't taste good. The shrimp dumpling tasted decent but the wrap came off easily. The fried turnip cake was soft, mushy and broke apart when we try to pick it up to eat. The place is medium size with old furnishing. Parking available in the plaza

Yelp
So happy to have found Golden Dim Sum! 4 adults and 2 children dined here on Sunday afternoon and the dim sum was very tasty. There were many choices and the portions were good. The kiddos love shrimp and enjoyed the shrimp dumplings and shrimp fried rice. The pan-fried pork dumplings and vegetarian egg rolls were especially good. My husband and I lived in Singapore in the 1980's and this dim sum measured up to what we had at restaurants there. Very authentic. Highly recommend Golden Dim Sum!

Yelp
This is our go to after Kim son across the street stopped serving dim sum. It's so good and service is always good and quick. They have lots of options and something for everyone. Very casual, family friendly place.

Yelp
This restaurant seems to get a bad rep for cleanliness and service, but I really enjoy the food here! Yes the restaurant is a bit dated, and yes sometimes you have to wave to get the server's attention, but honestly the dim sum is really good. This is in my category of "hole in the wall" Chinese restaurant with questionable service but really good food. In top of their wide selection of dim sum, they have pictures on the wall of all the a la carte dishes you can order. Try the black bean clams, steamed chicken, steamed pork ribs, egg custard Overall it's a great choice if you want dim sum that opens early, give this place a try!

Yelp
I had zero expectations when I entered Golden Dim Sum. After shopping at Linda's Tropical Fruits, I felt hungry because it was my lunchtime. I was gonna get chow fun as my lunch. But since it's a dim sum restaurant, I ordered few items to validate my presence. The service was actually better most other reviewers. But the food quality was subpar. Sorry, you don't put parsley in cilantro dish. I know it's not their fault but blame it on the grocery store. Boohoo. It's kitchen's failure not to catch it. Shanghai dumplings were not supposed fall apart as I picked up with my chopsticks. There was no soup spoon for me to catch the soup. So, the little bit of soup went all over the place. Custard egg yolk bun were flat and not fresh. They seem to be sitting in either warmer or refrigerator until customers order. Malay Sponge Cake was somewhat delightful. Not as sweet as most other dim sum restaurants. But it was ok freshness. Overall, I wouldn't want to feature Golden Dim Sum in my Chinatown Crawl events. The cleanliness and ambiance were below my standards.

Yelp
My sister-in-law suggested we come here while we were in Houston for a visit. She raved about how delicious their dim sum is, so I had to give it a try. The place was pretty packed when we visited that Sunday. We were seated pretty quickly. This is not your typical push cart type of dim sum restaurant. Everything is made to order. The dim sum dishes were pretty good, but not the best I've had. Nothing really stood out to me - just your average dim sum place IMO. But what DID stand out to me was our server! She was so sweet and fast. She even boxed up our leftovers. What?!? I was shocked at how she kept her composure even though it was very hectic in there. I wish I remembered her name, but I'm Dory lol. Golden Dim Sum deserves 3 stars, but because of the service they deserve one more star! Go give them a try! Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5

Yelp
We enjoyed some tasty dimsum on a semi-busy Saturday morning. Service was prompt, dishes were tasty, and price was affordable. The shumai was particularly plump and yummy, and all in all a decent dimsum spot. I would not recommend the salt and pepper squid as it was mostly fried squid without much flavor. I look forward to returning whenever I am in the area and looking for a dim sum fix!

Yelp
I came in here with my American friend, hopefully trying to open them up to trying dimsum and more Chinese cuisine. Unfortunately, this was not the right place to demonstrate Chinese hospitality. Despite coming in during slow hours and there being plenty of waitstaff, very few wanted to actually engage with us. It was so difficult to wave over a waitress to put in orders, despite two of them talking with another family. There was very little interaction between us, and the waitress seemed eager to leave us. Interior was relatively dull as well, quiet, but well lit. I feel like it needs more atmosphere, personally. As for the food, I must say, everything was alright for the most part. Some dishes came out a little cold, or room temperature, which was a little off putting for me. As for the salt and pepper squid, I was not expecting it to be beer-battered, as many other Chinese restaurants cook it differently. As I am Chinese myself, I can't say for certain if that's a different style or if it is just to make it appear larger and add more dough. Overall, I was a little disappointed with the service and was hoping that the food would be a little more true to my tastebuds, since it was true to the dim-sum price. I think I'll try another place next time.

Yelp
I'm not a pro at dim sum, but overall I think this is a great spot to come if you can't manage to get into Ocean Palace. Came on a Sunday at 11:30 and no wait which was great though by 12:30 it was starting to get busy. Their food options are all great, and got some standards like rice rolls, lotus rice wraps, and Harlow, etc. but in my opinion taste is just as good as other dim sum spots. And all at a reasonable price as well. Party of 3 left very full for $60! I think their portions are pretty big compared to Ocean Palace as well!

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a weekend, and it was crowded. My waiting time was about 10mins, which was decent. Service was good, and fast. They have a good variety of dim sum, rice, and noodles menus. My party had the steamed shrimp dumpling, pork sticky rice, steamed egg custard bun with egg yolk, Chinese sausage bun roll, fried bean curd skin roll, deep fried red bean ball, baked bbq pork bun, egg custard, steamed shrimp, and steamed beef rice rolls, fried egg noodle with soy sauce, and flat rice noodle with chicken. The steamed shrimp dumpling had very thin skin which was delicious. The pork sticky rice had the right texture and taste. The egg custard bun with egg yolk was not runny which was a let down. The Chinese sausage bun roll had a very fluffy bun and the texture contrast with the Chinese sausage was good. The red bean ball was very crispy but too little red bean filling. The baked bbq pork bun was delicious. Love the filling inside. The egg custard had crispy tart shell but the custard was tasteless. The rice rolls were not thin and the filling was insufficient. The noodle dishes were ok. Some dishes were worth coming back for. But this is not the place to mingle on weekends during peak hours. My voice was drowned in a sea of noises.

Yelp
Overall, a solid Cantonese dim sum restaurant. I cannot comment on main dishes, though, it seem pretty popular for Asian family style lunch/dinner. Upon arrival, it reminded me of any OG Chinese restaurant. Pretty clean for how long it's been around. Staffs are as good as it can get at an OG Asian restaurant - friendly but don't expect 5 star service. You get what you get and if you need them, flag them down. Luckily for me, this is my norms but lots of different ethnicity come to dine in for their main dishes and dim sum so don't be afraid! They will help you on what dishes to try if it's your first time here. The crab claws seem dry and small upon arriving to my table. However, looks are deceiving and I will gladly get it again. It's tasteful with lots of shrimp paste and, crispy on the outside and not drying at all. Ha gow (shrimp dumpling) and their shrimp & pork shiu mai are a must if you come here for dim sum. Do NOT skip out on it! For once, I finally found a dim sum restaurant that has shrimp and ginger in their ha gow like at a typical Cantonese dim sum restaurant. Shrimp & pork shiu mai seem to be missing something but you get a lot of meat and overall not bad for the pricing. Steamed shrimp rice roll was a bit disappointing. The rice roll was nice and thick yet chewy like what a Cantonese rice roll should be but they could have throw in an extra shrimp or two per roll. Still, not bad. Chicken claw with oyster sauce tasted exactly how it should be. BBQ pork bun, surprisingly were a disappointment and I rarely get disappointed over my favorite steamed BBQ pork bun (or bao). It tasted a tad old, too salty, and the bao was a bit dry. Weird. Could be the day... Deep fried red bean balls are okay. Oily but I expected that. Chewy but not that glutinous rice chewy dough I was expecting with the crisp on the outside. Red bean filling was a bit disappointing but not bad. Would I get it again? Only if I'm craving for it but personally, I would skip next time. Something with the texture that's not up to par. Pricing are not bad. Decent for the time we're currently in and decent for the type of restaurant. Great for couples, single, or a big family/friend group. Dress code is casual and they take credit cards/cash. Plenty of parking spaces, shared with H-mart and many other restaurants. Menus are posted on the glass by the door if you're curious. More like a 4-4.5 star to me but you know what? You can't please everyone so 5 star it is!

Yelp
Service was excellent. Loved the ambiance & those white sheets on the table. But the star of the show was the dim sum itself. Anything with shrimp can't go wrong shu mai, ha gao, etc. The noodle dishes were great, i recommend the more meat the better. But my favorite item on any dim sum menu is the ham sui gok. Tasty football shaped crunchy meat pockets with a burst of savory flavor and a chewy inner liner. I get them every time we dine at a dim sum place. They also have fried pork chops here which were also very delicious.
google avatar

Danny L.

Yelp
One of our go to spot for dim sum. A hole in the wall spot that offers fresh cooked food and dim sum. Along with traditional dim sum dishes they also offer a wide variety of other Chinese food. You'll be sure to leave the restaurant satisfied! On the weekend it's usually busy but if you go on a weekday you'll be seated immediately by the fast paced staff. Would definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
Solid dim sum spot - definitely a repeat. Rating from best to less best: (1) rice roll with XO sauce - love rice rolls, but the mixture of shallots, green onion and spice on top of this shrimp rice roll was the best (2) steamed shrimp dumpling - delicious har gow. Get this at every dim sum spot, and this one was top notch (3) flat rice noodles with beef and veggies - delicious larger dish and a crowd pleaser with my kids (4) steamed rice rolls - generally my favorite of the dim sum selection, but the sauce on top wasn't as good as Fung's or Ocean Palace - good, would order again, but not the best Not favorites from my order... (5) pan fried turnip cake - I am disappointed when these aren't crispy and are more gelatinous and chewy. (6) deep fried bitter melon ball - these were ok, but not at all what I expected. I was expecting savory and this was mostly sweet like a the fried sesame balls with red bean. They were good, but not what I expected The shrimp dishes here were the most delicious. So I would definitely try more of those - stuffed shrimp eggplant maybe. The fried rice also looked tasty. There was also a different bitter melon dish that was fried, which looked appetizing.

Yelp
We usually go to Crown Seafood but this time we decided to try a different one. This place is a typical dim sum place. Overall is what's expected. Service is good. We ordered 9 plates and totaled about $60 before tipping. Way cheaper than in Austin.
google avatar

Alexander H.

Yelp
The food is definitely very good: freshly made dim sum and this place offers varieties of unique, authentic Cantonese food. The only area that needs improvement ( a lot of improvements) is customer service.
google avatar

Philip B.

Yelp
The food really was just completely bland. Pretty expensive too. Not at all worth it. Also they neglected to tell us that gratuity was already included, and it was not on the menus either, so we ended up paying double tip which is kinda scummy.
google avatar

Stella H.

Yelp
This is the best dimsum restaurant in Houston hands down! However, if you are looking for the "dim-sum cart" experience, this is not the place. You order your food from a picture menu and they will bring it to your table, which is preferred by me as the food is fresh and more sanitary. Service is speedy as they want to get the table turned over quickly for the next customer. Weekend is packed, but if you come during the weekday then you can take your time.
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
One of the worst service I received. They were racist rude and overall judgmental. Our shrimp dumpling was raw and icy cold. Save ur money and go somewhere else.

Mo' B.

Yelp
Popular dim sum place just outside the beltway not to be confused with similarly named place nearby. Straightforward spot for dumplings noodles and tea, yum cha at its best
google avatar

Julie L.

Yelp
It is hard to find the spectacular dim sum in Houston nowadays but this place is good for the price. There is no push cart, you will be marking down items on the paper menu. The picture menu also comes in so handy and making it easy to know what to order and new items to explore. Food comes out very quickly and is steamy hot. All the food is pretty standard, but the steamed beef tripe with ginger and scallion L14 (La Sach Gung Hanh) is the best I've had in Houston, crunchy, airy, with a hint of sweetness and ginger without any foul taste.
google avatar

HsiaoCheng W.

Yelp
Decided it was time to update my review. On a Saturday at 9:30 am they were still setting tables. But we were allowed to seat ourselves. Still order from menu and bring out your order on a push cart. We got some standard stuff. It was all ok. Hard to find really spectacular dim sum in Houston though. Will come back in another six years if I'm still kickin.

Yelp
Friends and I like to go here for weekday lunch when the wait isn't too crazy... The servers are always really helpful and they keep things moving quickly. We like that food comes out as it's finished cooking so it's a bit of a progressive meal... Every once in a while we'll get brave and try something new to us; sometimes it's great like the the cilantro rice rolls or fried custard balls with almonds, and sometimes it's not so great like the taro cake but it's awesome to have such a huge selection to choose from! The prices are also really reasonable and it's good that they have things separated out by S,M, L, XL, and SP on the menu so it isn't a surprise when you get your check. Overall we've only had good experiences here, I would recommend checking it out if you're into the dim sum scene!

Jane S.

Yelp
Very good! And great service! All good and dimsum was in good servings, dimsum was very full of meat! FRESH AND FAST SERVICE !

Monrudee Y.

Yelp
Be Careful!! Food is good. Beware they don't wanna show u the receipt because they already add 18% for gratuity even we have 4 ppl . We almost give them 30% tips but my husband caught them trying to hide the tip on receipt. So check your receipt before you pay.
google avatar

Joanna Q.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I LOVE Golden Dim Sum! We found this place at random when we wanted to go to a popular buffet nearby, but the wait was over 40 minutes. We decided to look around and decided to come here--one of the best decisions we have made. We usually order a variation of the XO sauce flat rice cakes (need to try the other variations of this dish), chinese broccoli w/oyster sauce, steamed pork buns, pork soup dumplings, house special fried rice, and any of their seafood dishes. Everything always tastes great. The service is also amazing--just expect actual Asian people working here so keep in mind that in their culture, customer service looks different than it does in typical Western restaurants. The restaurant looks like a place where the food is great, because the decor is not overly lavish. We will 100% be returning often.
google avatar

Yelp
Small nice ma & pa restaurant. Didn't have to wait 2 hrs to be seated. Will come back here when craving for dim sum without the wait.
google avatar

Yelp
The dim sum was ok But they treat my 81 year old mother with disrespect. I don't know how can these people treat elderly people this bad. This place was recommended to me from my friends so I took my mom there. There were 6 waitresses there but none have the time to come by and provide service to my mom. They were not busy at all. Anyways I do not recommend you take your elderly family members there.

Yelp
Disappointed with Hidden Charges I recently dined at golden dim sum with a group of four, eager to enjoy a meal together. However, our experience left a bitter taste in our mouths, and it wasn't just the food. One glaring issue was the sneaky 18% gratuity charge automatically added to our bill for our party size. It felt less like a gratuity and more like an obligatory fee, leaving us feeling cheated and deceived. It's disappointing when a restaurant fails to communicate such charges upfront. This lack of transparency tarnished what could have been an enjoyable evening. We felt trapped, as if we had no choice but to pay this inflated tip, regardless of the service quality. While the food might have been passable, the feeling of being taken advantage of overshadowed any positive aspects of our visit. If you decide to dine here, beware of the hidden fees that might end up leaving a bitter aftertaste.
google avatar

Linda N.

Yelp
Our go-to place for good reliable dim sum in the heart of Bellaire Chinatown. Large selection of all the must-have dim sum items, along with some less common variations (the soft tofu stuffed inside the cheung fun rice roll is one of our favorites).
google avatar

Klemens T.

Yelp
Came here for the first time with my wife. We were craving for dim sum since we don't have any in the Bryan College Station area. Not as good as what I'm used to from back home in Hawaii, but I'm still satisfied. We ordered pork shiu mai (delicious, but nothing special), steamed pork dumpling (delicious), steamed shrimp dumpling (its ok), bbq pork bao (delicious), and sticky rice (its ok). Overall, pretty pricey and the food were all ok. They didn't have seafood roll or sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf or other dishes that I'm used to. Staff are friendly, but service was pretty slow. It took a while before our orders were taken and the food to come out. They have a paper menu with a pencil where you'd write on it to let them know what you want to order.

Yelp
Golden Dim Sum is way bigger than it looks from the outside. Would be a great place for large groups. They had some unique dim sum dishes I wasn't used to eating. Here's the breakdown below. Dry scallop dumplings 4/5 - pretty tasty but tastes a lot like shrimp Shrimp long noodles -3/5 - these were a bit pricey at the XL price of almost $8 Fried cappelin fish - 5/5 - I really enjoyed this one. Fried perfectly and you get quite a lot of them. They're a little like sardines but more meat. Thousand year old egg congee - 5/5 - great taste and lots of pork and eggs Fried taro puffs - 4/5 - good but pretty standard not as good as other places Egg tarts - 3/5 - hot but not as good as other places Pan fried shrimp dumplings - 4/5 these were delicious and had good filling inside Sesame balls - 5/5 - these are a lot like giant mochi. They come out hot and very chewy Fried turnip cake - 4/5 - tasty but pretty standard Overall, there wasn't a dish I didn't like. All the food came out hot and we even had leftovers. I really like how you can order some salt and pepper seafood plates and not have to buy a huge portion if you just want a taste.
google avatar

Candy C.

Yelp
Ordered to go, it was ok. Dishes were hot but they did not punch steam holes for the fried items and they were soggy by the time we got home . Singapore Noodles - pretty good Chinese Broccoli - some pieces were hard to chew Fried Tofu stuffed with Shrimp - ok Long noodle with XO sauce - needed more sauce fried pork puff - good ratio of filling to breading Pork and shrimp dumpling- Shuimai - ok Shrimp dumpling - Har Gow - ok Salt toasted Calamari- flavor good, soggy crust Fried Taro Puff - Wu Gok Fried items were better with a trip to the toaster oven and or air fryer. I know it's risky with fried items but at least try to keep them crispy.

Yelp
very good dimsum and service was top notch. They were really nice to us and always made sure we got what we need. As soon as they saw we had a toddler with us, they automatically brought togo utensils out and water in togo cup which I normally had to ask for at other restaurants. Their chicken in foil was amazing! Flavor was on point, and my 2 years old approved it. We will definitely come back when we have a chance.

Yelp
When the pandemic hit we wanted to support local businesses and fellow Asian community. I've always loved dim sum and it has a nostalgic factor. I've never actually eaten inside the establishment, but when we went to get the food it was usually pick up outside with tables. I love their shumai. It is filled generously as all their other dim sum items too. The pan fried buns are a must try. It is succulent and balanced. The bbq pork bao is okay. I have never been a fan, but my husband and sister loves it. This place is good food and good prices especially for the portions given.

Yelp
Aggressive ladies LOL but I can tell everyone was really trying hard to get the food to tables but it was very clear they were stressed. Despite that + cultural/language barrier, I don't quite think that justifies yanking menus or throwing dirty looks at us for asking about the food... It was about a 20-25 minute wait for the food after placing the order at around 12:45pm on a Monday. Though there were a few empty tables, it was almost a full house with about 4-5 older ladies running around the establishment. Food is meh - LA is probably better for the dim sum scene. **Some good things that stood out** - Durian Fried Rolls: warm and there was a nice durian flavor though not authentic - Egg Tarts: always bomb and also warm - Shrimp Har Gow: yummy and full of shrimpz $5.89 for 4 is kinda hefty imo - Shu Mai: also yummerz and juicy - Garlic Morning Glory: get this if you wanna cut the fried and the oily. So good!! Not stringy at all. - Shrimp Wontons and crab shrimp balls were juicy and a nice crisp on the outside - Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings were not bad - Free rice with 2-3 dinner entrees ordered. Some meh things to note - Black Bean Clams were way too salty - Chicken Feet fell flat in flavor and came nearly 1.5 hours after we were seated and way too full to eat more - Lobster meat wasn't as bouncy as expected - maybe overcooked? - Peking duck is overrated. And if you want to try it, don't do it here bc the skin isn't crispy and the buns are fall apart-y. Cucumbers were noticeably not fresh (plastic-y texture) - Water tasted off... had to mix with the tea

Yelp
Food below average. But service was good. Ha Gao is okay. At least I got good amount of shrimp inside the dumpling. The beef inside the rice noodles roll felt like dead meat. It was very mushy and a little bit sour. Egg tart... they were like the frozen ones you can get from Asian grocery stores. Service was good. Waitresses were friendly. Would not charge you tea if you didn't want any. Didn't enforce mandatory 18% tip like others have mentioned.

Yelp
Decent dim sum place. I'm still on the search for a really good one in Houston. You order off paper menu. Go with someone who is familiar with ordering so that you know what you're ordering. Pretty decently priced. My suggestion would be to go during the week. The weekend can get pretty packed.

Yelp
Hidden gem on bellaire in Houston. Great dim sum for the family. We ordered Togo and it was still delicious when we got home to eat with the family.

Yelp
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday lunch. We were utterly dissapointed. The pork and shrimp shu-mai taste extremely porky, with no hints of shrimp at all. They grind up their meats in all of their dumplings/shumai's for some reason (probably to add fillers and maximize profits). Their fried foods are overly oily. The shrimp rice paper rolls were the only thing that was good, but I was surprised that it costed $13 each! When I got the bill, it was $63 for my girlfriend and I. I was surprised to say the least, because dim sum is supposed to be cheap and good. This place was neither of those things. Im sorry for cheating on you HK Dimsum, we just wanted to try something new. Never again

Yelp
This place is amazing, the food is great and the atmosphere is lively. The dim sum here is actually good, and the servers were really helpful and sweet. My family came here with a party of 15 and we were well fed by the end of it.

Yelp
Great dim sum and huge menu with a few good chefs under their belt. The fried hor fun is one of the best I had in houston, have what we call 'wok Hei' hot wok with flat noodles , can't beat that !

Yelp
The service here is very quick and efficient as well as the food that came out. I love their extra menu with the vegetables & noodles. The food itself is really good too! I recommend getting the garlic sautéed snow pea leaves, it also comes with a side of white rice for you. Price is reasonable and portions are just the right amount. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Food sucked, ordered 12 plates of dim sum for 80+ and they all either tasted old as in spoiled sour taste, overcooked vegetable, and some were served cold and hard as if it was reheated. Lady kept sneezing all over the place and wasnt even wearing a mask. Asked for some napkins, was given 2 with a group of 3. Overall service was 0/10 food was 1/10 Save your money and go to kim son instead for all you can eat, better quality food as well.

Yelp
The food was amazing and nothing was wrong with it. The workers were so nice because we didn't know how to order but they helped us figure it out so when we finished ordering the food it took a little while but it was worth it. Definitely recommend

Yelp
If you ever go on the weekends, expect to wait and it can get very difficult to get the waiters' attention. It's usually a hit or miss with the foods here. I mainly go for the chicken claw and the siu mai. I do get other dishes here like the salt and pepper squid as well as the steamed ribs in XO sauce. The price is very decent for each dish type.
