The food is bland and overpriced for what it is. We've ordered multiple dishes a few times to give them a chance and it constantly disappoints. The prices are typical but the food. Mm the chow. Mein in particular tastes like someone in highschool tried to make Chinese food from a recipe they googled. The black bean beef has a few beans added but tastes like nothing... The general tsao chicken was ok.

Love, love, love this place! Been going here since I was a kid and their food has been on point every time. The General Tsos, Chicken Lo Mein, Pork Fried rice, and Chicken Egg Fu Young are my favorites. Services is friendly and prompt.

Tofu is perfectly crispy and broccoli is perfectly cooked! The brown sauce is amazing and not too salty. 👌🏼 They have a whole tofu section in their lunch specials, great for vegetarians / vegans! They also have a brown rice option so you can have healthy chinese take out :)

Pretty bad, this was like a soup. Ordered pineapple chicken and what I got was 1 a soup, 2 with no pineapples, 3 like caned chicken soup. My friends also ordered some other things and they were very disappointed. The only thing that wasn’t bad was probably the fried chicken rice. Not recommended.

Best American style Chinese food I’ve had delivered to LIC. I’ve tried multiple spots and Golden Dragon was the only one that had great chicken, rice, broccoli, and egg roll for general Tso’s. Would recommend for classic Chinese take out spot

Better than it looks from the outside. General tso and sweet sour shrimp are excellent. Usually busy with chinese customers, better to order for takeout.

The food is bland, the price is reasonable but the staff is polite.

Crab Rangoon was stale and not crunchy. General sow tastes nothing like general sow 😑. Last time I order from here.

A decent typical Chinese food takeout joint in Astoria with the typical Americanized Chinese fast food menu at reasonable prices . Had the boys over to watch some march madness , NBA games , hockey and decided to give this joint a delivery order of egg rolls, wonton soups , spare ribs , chicken with broccoli, chicken chow mein, and shrimp low mein.The food was delivered in about 30 minutes, order was correct , no spillage and overall food was good , nothing great but no complaints at all. They give alot for what they charge and the containers are sturdy . I would give golden dragon another try and with the extensive menu , I will explore other options when ordering next time . 4 stars on my yelp meter .

**Delivery Review** Super Bowl Sunday, wanted to order from a place that wouldn't have a long delivery time. Standard favorites on the menu with good prices considering the area. Decided on the Beef and Broccoli ($10) which comes with an egg roll. Packed container of rice, broccoli, and marinated beef (egg roll to the side). Broccoli maintains the sauce really well and the rice isn't too greasy. Wish there was more beef, as there wasn't nearly as much as the other two ingredients. Egg roll is okay, needed a lot of duck sauce to go along with it. Appreciate the delivery availability and amount of food for the price.

This is my go to Chinese fast food in the area. General tso's chicken with pork fried rice is always solid. I am also a fan of their combination lo mein because that container is PACKED and I am pretty sure it gives me 2-3 meals. The meals are super flavorful and the portions are large. I rec calling at least 15 mins ahead for pick up or of course with the delivery services.

I used to race in how good this food is....UNTIL TODAY!!! I ordered something so simple fried jumbo shrimp and fries. the shrimp was BURNT like how!??? and why!??? They need to change that cooking oil and should be ashamed to serve up food like that!! if they wouldn't eat burnt food cooked in bad oil then why would they serve it to their customers!??? I'm so disappointed in this establishmen.

I was craving tomato egg drop soup so I ordered delivery from this establishment. The soup was underwhelming. They just threw a few pieces of tomato on top of regular egg drop soup. I also got the pork egg roll, which was excellent and the General Tso's chicken, which was nice & crunchy, but lacking spiciness. The delivery driver was kind and the food arrived fast and hot. I can't speak to the ambiance of the place as I've never physically been there. I'd probably give them another try in the future, but my expectations are fairly low.

Delicious food every time! Really enjoy the general tso's chicken in the lunch special AND the regular portion.

This is my regular Chinese takeout spot, and I have to say I've never been disappointed. Their veggies taste fresh, and their meat and tofu are well cooked. I usually order the broccoli and garlic sauce, and ask for tofu to be mixed in, and it tastes 10/10. The lo mein is also very good, always delivered HOT, and perfectly lo mein-y. I LOVE crab rangoon, and Golden Dragon's rangoon is a solid "meh" but overall, everything is great.

GREAT Chinese takeout in Astoria. Get the steamed dumplings, they're delicious. The cold sesame noodles were amazing and you get a huge portion for under $5. The sesame chicken was great as well. I could've gone without the eggdrop wonton soup but whatever. Delivery was right on time and food was piping hot.

Best regular Chinese doors in the area by a long shot. No gross bites in the chicken or any of that.

Portion sizes are amazing here. They don't slack off when they're packing it in. Been here a few times, the noodles are fantastic. The cheese wontons are great as well. I usually get the general tso's or sesame chicken. They're both wonderful. Maybe not the best I've had, but it was delicious. Isn't that what it's all about?

Very good American Chinese takeout. I ordered a large Chicken Lo Mein, sweet a d sour chicken, and beef and broccoli. All were cooked well, not too greasy, very flavorful and salty. Exactly as I would expect for this type of Chinese food. I don't have many good options near me for American Chinese so I considered this a solid choice. Obviously not gourmet but not a disappointment at all. Would come back.

Disclaimer: this review is during COVID19 - so I'm a bit biased and favorable to any small businesses helping us out in these uncertain times and appreciate their business more than ever. Golden Dragon was recommended to me by friends that have lived in the area for a while and told me its a very standard Takeout Chinese place which was what I was craving for. I haven't eaten takeout Chinese in over a year, and the food brought back memories. If you grew up in the suburbs somewhere and are craving a typical dinner / lunch combo, you can't go wrong with this place. I had the the Sesame Chicken dinner combo. Fairly priced, especially if you'r doing lunch or any of the appetizers. I felt comfortable ordering takeout from this place as they followed all the social distancing guidelines during these times. Support Local! If you have a Chinese fix and are in the area - hit this place up.

Very good Chinese takeout. Also, at other restaurants I tend to prefer beef and broccoli over the chicken and broccoli, but here they are both great. I actually prefer the chicken.

Our food was delivered on time and piping hot. However, the sesame chicken and the spare ribs were burned and not edible. The wonton soup was good, as were the dim sum.

We eat here at least once a week. Food is delicious and consistent and everything we've gotten from chicken and broccoli, dumplings, kung pao, soup, etc is always fresh! It's our go to for a quick dinner and the staff is always super friendly and accommodates special orders. Great local spot!

Ridiculous. They are trying to save on chicken..!! I ordered chicken with hot chili sauce and I received a container with literally 90% vegetables (not mentioned on the menu) and 10% chicken. When I called I was told by the Manager that all chicken dishes come like that and there was nothing he could have done. I had to order from another place and wait again, they ruined my dinner and my appetite. How can you save money on chicken....!?!? It's unacceptable. It's a rip off.

The peanut noodles were fine, the general tsao's chicken was very dried out. I won't order that again.

The food here is actually pretty great hole-in-the-wall, take-out style Chinese food - it's definitely improved than the last time I was here at least. It's not better than Sunrise Chinese up the block on the corner of 34th and Broadway, but if you're on 31st ave already it's also not a bad back-up plan. I've had the sweet and sour chicken here with white rice, their scallion pancakes, steamed pork dumplings and tried my fiancé's chicken and broccoli from here. I've both ordered to bring home and also ordered to enjoy at Diamond Dogs (one of my absolutely favorite neighborhood bars conveniently located right next door and with a very liberal "bring your own food" policy!). Service here has always been friendly and efficient, prices are reasonable and it's also a relatively clean place. I'm tempted to give them 3.5 stars but am gonna round up until Yelp implements a new rating policy...one day :).

It might be my go to Chinese spot now. Everyone is super nice and got plenty of food that lasted more than one meal. So can't complain.

Just average. Just barely average. Although, I do appreciate your super cheap prices. Dropped in last weekend for some take out that we decided to take in since none of us had really seen the light of day that weekend. The little Chinese shop is like any other and is kept relatively clean with a few tables. I had ordered the sesame noodles for only $4 and split an order of boiled pork dumplings (8 in an order for $5.25). Cheaper than my go to take-out in Kensington, BK. However, my sesame noodles were pretty sad. It was goopey and drenched with peanut paste and uncooked raw bean sprouts and zero other vegetables, no sesame seeds. The soy sauce was placed in a cup on the side for if you wanted to actually turn your sesame paste into a sauce. Thud. Maybe people usually don't order this here but I always feel like cold or hot sesame noodles are my go to for judging a Chinese take out establishment. Anyone can fry up a piece of chicken and throw in some rice and most of it all tastes the same. Their dumplings were very doughy but the meat inside tasted okay. My friend's fiance wasn't feeling his General Tso's combination meal but she was content with her sweet and sour chicken. Allegedly, Sun Rise down the block is quite a bit better if that helps your decisions on crap fried Chinese food in the area. Though, this is pretty economical and handy, especially being next door to Diamond Dogs.

Place is dirty , when i sat down to eat my food i saw cocaroach come out from under the table and when i told the girl at the counter she said im sorry, i got so disgusting i just left my food and left, whould never go back there again, place looked real dirty to begin with.

Be careful of them increasing prices on you hoping you are too dumb to notice. My meal tallied up $1.50 more than expected. This was not a case of them increasing prices on the menu due to inflation, as they have made many freshly printed menus available to customers. When I challenged the price, I was told by the big fat guy with the black rimmed glasses that the extra $1.50 was "tax". IT IS NOT TAX AND NO TAX AMOUNT IS A TIDY $1.50 I paid it simply because you never argue with the one who cooks your meal or you never know what you'll end up eating. Look, it's not a lot of money, but I suspect they do this to all their customers. Will not order from this dishonest business ever again. You've been warned.

My dad owns a chinese takeout joint in Pennsylvania so I consider myself a pretty good judge of Americanized Chinese food. I usually measure a place by three menu items: General Tso's, Beef and Broccoli, and Fried Chicken Wings. Here's my verdict: General Tso's: excellent. Nice crust, a tad too sweet but that's to be expected. Measures up to my dad's version. Beef and broccoli: Disastrous. The broccoli was overlooked, the beef spent too much time in the baking soda marinade so it's way too mushy, not to mention it's salty as hell. Fried Chicken Wings: Nice. Not a whole lot of depth of flavor, but delicious in the basic kinda way. No extra food coloring on the crust so it doesn't look like a nuclear guido. Win. I ordered a box of spare ribs too just for shits and giggles, and man oh man was that a mistake. First thing I notice is that they were heavy handed on the food coloring, more than typical chinese takeout joint levels. The texture was hella dry, and the flavor was only meh. That being said, I would totally go back just for the General Tso's and the Chicken wings. Edit: After sitting in the fridge for a day, the spare rib tips have become jerky-like and the flavors really shine through, perfect to gnaw on while you watch a movie. Changing this to 4 stars.

When I first walked into Golden Dragon I was taken a back by the calm, yet, colorful decor. The air smelled of good tidings and fortune cookies. I placed my order, the woman behind the counter could not be nicer, which makes this review so much harder! As I walked thru the threshold of my domicile, I was glowing in anticipation of a delicious meal. I opened the bag like a child on christmas, took out the plastic container and opened it. The smell filled my nostrils, my mouth watering I could barely control myself. I grab my fork, take my first bite of my seasame chicken, and was completely disappointed! The chicken was gamey and had an odd flavor. Okay, never fear, my wonton soup will save the day! Nope! Broth lacked flavor and there was hardly any meat in rhe wonton! Then came the egg roll. It looked so good, i figured it would be the saving grace! Hell no! WTF! Who puts cinnamon and nutmeg in a f*#@ing egg roll? 2 stars.... Send nudes...

This is my go to lunch spot. The food is always good & the prices are even better. The staff are very polite and they make the food very fast. I live for the sweet tea! It's in a quiet spot, away from all of the noise of NYC.

This has been my go to Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood for three years. And today I made the mistake of ordering Shrimp Chow Mein. Instead of stir-fried noodles (which you know, is literally a direct translation of "chow mein"), I got a container of shrimp and mushy cabbage. Oh and the equivalent of crackers on the side. Called the restaurant only to have them explain to me that this is what it's supposed to look like. Really?! That is just absurd. Never again.

Fast, convenient, tasty and cheap Chinese food. On a Sunday night when most of the restaurants on 31st Avenue at shutting down for the evening this is my fast food restaurant of choice to grab a quick bite. I believe the owners are actually not from China, but they sure know make excellent BBQ pork tips and orange beef late at night. Sometimes I will even place an order and their door to door service is relatively fast and efficient. The delivery guys still seem to deliver by pedal (bikes) instead of those new fangled scooters, but that's not a serious issue. I also recommend the brown rice and the pineapple chicken as alternative, and most of their dishes are not spicy/hot. Those that are, are highlighted in red, so a late night meal won't cause you a stomach upset before bedtime. All in all, a neighborhood friendly eatery that makes an effort to satisfy those late night hunger cravings.

Very nice comfort food and you get a huge portion to come along with it. Staff is really kind and got my order out quickly. I got the chicken broccoli with white rice and ate it so quickly! I was so hungry and wanted some comfort food- they did not disappoint. This restaurant is nice as it is not in the middle of the city so you get your space, peace, and quiet. Try them out if you're looking for a quick bite of classic dishes.

I've yet to find a 5-Star chinese place in the area, but Golden Dragon definitely comes close. The service/delivery was fast and the portions were very generous. The chicken itself tasted delicious (sesame chicken), but it was a tad spicy for what I'm used to when I order sesame chicken. That wasn't the main issue, since I'm fine with a little spice. What concerned me was the $2 fee for "actual chicken" or something to that extent. Not sure why they charge extra, but that's the only reason they don't get a 5 star review from me. The $2 extra makes a small difference in price, but it's the fact they charge for it that concerns me the most. Definitely will be happy to give a 5-Star review if this situation is to change in the future!

This place is Garbage, I ordered Chicken with Chinese vegetables in garlic sauce with no rice and I told the lady taking the order to put the sauce on side and she gave me a dirty look and said with anger (then u want the Chicken steamed) and when the food came out the food was smothered in nasty thick (like glue) sauce and was so sweet with sugar, had to throw the food out right in front of her if you want diabetes this is the place to go, and the place looks real dirty and skeevy, never will go back to that place again plenty of other places near by that have pride in cooking there food.

My go to. I like the generals chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce and that you can white meat only any chicken item. Wonton soup broth is kinda tasteless and the fried dumplings have a thick skin that's not to my taste. But that being said nothings horrible and most items are tasty. Delivery is pretty fast too.

I love chinese food, and I'm always looking for places that prepare it with lots of flavor! And finally I found! Don't even waist your time ordering from another place....I've trying so many...And definitely this is the best!

My delivery from Golden Dragon was a subpar experience. The expected delivery was 35 minutes and was pushed to 2 hours. When I called to discuss, the individual who picked the phone up was less than helpful, was on a rush to get off the phone, and wasn't empathetic to their error. I won't be ordering or recommending anyone else to order from there because it seems like they just don't care.

My favorite Chinese take out place! I have been ordering for years and never have I been disappointed with the food nor service. I definitely would recommend spicy lo mein, and seasame chicken. Delicious!

Ordered via phone. The girl on the phone speaks and understood the english language. That already scores 1 star for me lol. I had the General Tso's Chicken. It was not the usual taste and sauce that I get in other take outs. I'm not a big fan of it but it wasn't bad either. I just don't prefer their version. I also ordered the shrimp w/ broccoli. It was pretty good. The french fries were okay... I would order again. Delivery time was decent. They also serve via seamless...

Horrible. I just left the table after a seriously disappointing chinese take-out experience. Every single dish we ordered was sub par. We had an all veggie meal which, you'd think, is harder to fail at. But fail they did. On all counts. The steamed veggie dumpling were thick and doughy and had an unappetizing look about them. They were ill filled. They could've just stuffed it with a healthy amount of cabbage to skimp out on the other ingredients but they didn't even manage that. The cold sesame noodles should just be called a plate of spaghetti dressed with goopy peanut butter. No sign of sesame. No spice. No seasoning. The broccoli and snow peas were soggy and soft. And by the way, absolutely nothing was crips, ever, in any of the dishes which required the vegetables to be so. Every sauce that covered a dish was bland. Unequivocally. No ginger or garlic. Just a drab generic brown sauce masked but what must be red food coloring. The tofu in both the Mixed Vegetables with Tofu and the King Pao Bean Curd was deep fired into rubber. These dished beared the brunt of every crime described above. Soggy, soft vegetables, bland sauces, just sad sad Chinese food. I did learn one thing other than to never order from this place again, and that it's not prudent to trust Seamless ratings.

Honestly, we ordered from here due to the good reviews. But it was just...meh. It did arrive quickly, was inexpensive and was warm, however the first thing we noticed was that our combos came with sodas but we weren't given any soda options when ordering. The crab rangoon didn't have much flavor and the sweet and sour sauce has a little bit of a ginger taste to it. Egg rolls also flavorless. The hubs had the general tso's and said it was hard and more breading than chicken. Said it made him feel nauseous. My sesame chicken was bland and gummy....it's too bad bc I was really looking forward to it.

Decent chinese food. It wasn't worth the 15 minute walk it took me to get there. I got beef and broccoli: it was mediocre, nothing exceptional. The wonton soup was uneventful. Very bland and the meat didn't have any taste. The soup wasn't too salty like you would find in other restaurants, though.

This place used to be my favorite chinesse on the neighborhood until last night i found a roach on my kung pao chicken it was devastating , the worst thing that could ever happened, i still fell like puking!!!! DON'T ORDER FROM HERE ANYMORE... UNLESS YOU LIKE TO EAT ROACHES.....

I walked in and I said: "yi ge shui jiao." As you can cleverly guess that meant "one steamed dumplings please." "Steamed dumplings?" YO YOU LITTLE...!! IF YOU UNDERSTOOD MY PERFECT CHINESE THEN YOU SHOULD RESPOND IN CHINESE K!?? *exhales heavily* Anyways 10 mins later my dumplings come. One word. Celery. Gosh-darnit I have never heard/eaten/seen Chinese steamed dumplings with celery in them and me, being a celery-hater could not even enjoy the dumplings. Their beef and broccoli special is like 99% of the ghetto takeout places except I believe they added extra MSG, since it tasted pretty damn nice and left me thirsty for the rest of the day. What's that? You like celery and MSG? Go for it!

2.5 stars. I ordered carryout from here twice using online apps Seamless and then Eat24. First trip: Ordered through Seamless since I had a coupon (I think $5 off i can't remember). Got General Tso's (white meat chicken option) and cold sesame noodles. Was good, kind of your typical Americanized Chinese food. For the General Tso's the sauce is WAY too sweet/heavy and that is saying something because I am a huge sweet-tooth. Second Trip: Since the first trip was OK and I had a coupon again I used Eat24 and got $5 off. this time I went with the General Tso's but did not select the white meat option. Huge mistake. I don't know what kind of meat they are using for the regular chicken option but it is chewy and just does not taste good. I felt like it was mystery meat of some kind and I couldn't finish it all - it was off putting. Also again the sauce is too sweet here, I'm used to heavy greasy American-Chinese food sauces but this was overboard. Got an egg drop soup which was OK. Pros: 1. Quick 2. White meat chicken is not bad but they charge extra for it 3. Coupons sometimes on Seamless/Eat 24 Apps Cons 1. Sauce way too sweet/heavy, even for American-Chinese food standards. (-1 star) 2. Non-white meat is mystery meat and chewy (-1 star) 3. Generic style (-.5 star)
