Take a Look Inside the Golden Monkey Tiki Bar on the Las Vegas Strip | Eater Vegas

"Inside Resorts World's Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge I found a polished, island-inspired lounge full of fish-faced mugs, cocktail umbrellas, floral leis, surfboards decked in leis, bamboo accents and tiled shelving stacked with tiki mugs; the lounge chairs are upholstered in palm-frond and butterfly patterns and the tables are covered in shiny pineapples and bowls of seashells. The bar stocks about 50 types of rum and a 20-drink menu that includes staples like mai tais, jungle birds and rum runners as well as signature cocktails such as the Feelin’ Coconutty (rum with a purple ube-coconut syrup), the One Way Ticket (rum, passionfruit liqueur and pineapple, set on fire) and the Fire Dancer (spicy mango syrup served in a smiling green tiki mug). Drinks run about $16 each and many can be prepared punch-bowl style for up to four people for roughly $50. The space was rethemed from what used to be the Genting Palace Lounge, is accessible from the Hilton lobby, and aims for a warm, welcoming tropical oasis vibe with vacation-inspired music from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.; the bar’s name comes from a golden monkey statue that’s sat on the bar since the venue opened in 2021." - Janna Karel

A Tiki Bar Is Back on the Las Vegas Strip - Eater Vegas

"On April 17, the bar will reopen as the Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge. The Las Vegas Strip hasn’t seen a tiki bar since the early 2000s, when the Venetian Resort closed its short-lived Taboo Cove. The Golden Monkey promises to be an elevated retreat with vibrant colors and playful features typical of tiki bars. The venue, which already boasts bold colors, will get an infusion of golden monkey statues to sit high above the bar and other more modern touches. The bar will serve traditional tiki drinks like the rum-based jungle bird and mai tai. Many drinks will be available in punch bowls meant for sharing with large groups — and taking pictures of. The Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge entrance will be located through the Hilton Lobby at Resorts World and will be open daily from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Reservations can be made online." - Janna Karel

We came here cause the wife has been wanting to come to a tiki bar and while this technically fits the bill, I didn't really get tiki vibes. The place is nice with pretty decor, but it felt like a normal Vegas bar/lounge. Regardless, I ordered the Bird of Paradise drink and my wife got a Latitude Adjustment. They were both pretty good, with the Latitude Adjustment being a bit better. The drink was a decent price, like $17 each. I've likely outgrown my fruity drink phase, as they were both very fruity and sweet, but other people may love them. The bartender was very friendly and helpful and offered us water while we selected our drinks.

As you step into the Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge at Resort World, you'll find yourself transported to a tropical paradise that exudes luxury and leisure. The bar's decor marries classic Tiki bar elements with modern touches, creating an inviting and lively ambiance. You'll be greeted by striking golden monkey statues perched above the bar, which adds a whimsical touch to the tropical escape. The attention to detail in the decor is impressive and elevates the entire experience, making it an immersive setting that's hard to forget. Apart from the ambiance, the beverage menu is equally impressive, showcasing the Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge's commitment to delivering a unique and flavorful experience. The One Way Ticket and Fire Dancer cocktails are the real stars of the menu, fusing traditional Tiki bar classics with innovative twists, utilizing high-quality spirits and carefully selected ingredients. The food options are also a delightful surprise, with the coconut shrimp and egg rolls served on charming shark plates being a crowd favorite. Despite some reviews suggesting it may be a better hangout spot, the lounge's personalized and attentive service made our experience grand. Though the lounge may have been less crowded, the skilled mixologists crafted exceptional drinks, offering a perfect balance of flavors. In conclusion, my experience at the Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge was terrific. The ambiance, drinks, and unexpected culinary delights made for a memorable visit. I wholeheartedly give this establishment a well-deserved five-star rating and encourage others to experience the tropical allure of this sophisticated and enchanting Tiki lounge at Resort World.

Don't sleep on the Golden Monkey. Best drinks I've had up to this point! The mixologist who crafted these cocktails is worthy of praise. Fresh ingredients always make for better anything, and cocktails are no different! We had a rum runner, a maitai, and lattitude adjustment. All amazing!

This place has amazing atmosphere and phenomenal, well thought out, tropical drinks. If you're going through Vegas and you want the island experience, this is your place. And the music is off the hook amazing. You've got to check this out.

We had a Freaki Tiki, a Firedancer, a One Way Ticket, and an Altitude Adjustment. They were all great. The atmosphere is relaxing and fun, and the service was good. The only thing is that our table asked for water and the server brought us bottled water instead of just tap water, which seemed like upcharging for upcharging's sake.

3 stars due to value. Drinks are great, but about 60-70% ice. At $18-20, feel like it shouldn't be mostly ice. Seriously, you could drink the entire drink and the ice was still at the top. Picture is of a fully finished drink. Servers were great though. Cannot comment on the food though.

They missed the mark. This is not a tiki bar. It’s a weird hotel lobby-like bar with some tiki mugs on the wall and bartenders wearing Hawaiian shirts that happens to overlook a jewelry store. The worst part is the music. So inauthentic! Jimmy Buffet is Key West—not Polynesia. Sheryl Crow, Burning Down the House?! OMG. Trader Vic is rolling in his grave. Wait. I forgot about the strange drink choices for a tiki. Rum Runners?! Again…this is not the Florida Keys. The drinks were pretty and only took about 10 minutes compared to other reviews, but the bar was quiet that night. My Mai Thai was decent. Pearl Diver very good. Doubt I’ll be back. If they want to survive, they need to add bamboo partitions to enclose the bar like a tiki and ditch the horrific playlist. If You Like Pina Coladas?! I almost spit out my Mai Thai.

Didn't try the food but got a drink (feelin' coconutty). It was pretty good. The server was pleasant and correctly attentive (not pushy or absent for an extended period). The ambiance was nice: dimly lit, which improved overall social engagements. Overall, it's not a bad place to visit and I'd go again.
