Yelp
Hotel and room was fine.
Staying for 2 "weekday" nights. Reservation for $110.00 total for both nights + resort fees ($36 x 2) and taxes.
I kept receiving emails from the hotel re room upgrades. I clicked on it twice to inquire about info/rates, but never received any emails or calls re upgrades. See pic below, it states if upgrade requests are fulfilled, you'll receive an email prior to your arrival.
At check in, I was told my stay was $850, based on my upgrade request?? I advised them that no one contacted me prior to my arrival about an upgrade. 'm not staying in downtown Las Vegas on a weekday for $400 + a night?
Front desk person went into the back for 15 min to figure it out. Came out, asked to see my emails, which I showed him. He went into the back again and offered what I understood was a $40 a night room rate. Better then my $55, so no problem.
I asked him where my final room total amount was, he said based on the credits and changes it would be provided at checkout? Red flag
The room I received was basic Vegas room. The view was overlooking industrial roof tops full of ducts and AC units (See Pics Below). It was facing the roof of the downtown experience. It meant loud music/and flashing bright lights until 2 AM. Would this be a $40 a night upgrade to you? Not an upgrade!
Heck if you look at the email pic below, they offer a strip view upgrade in that tower for $15. Guess my $40 extra a night that they charge me didn't cover this upgrade?? See my view pic below :(
At TV checkout, no amounts provided on the TV checkout screen. This is a first for a casino?
My credit card wasn't billed until a few days later. They charged me about $90 more than my original rate.
I'm 5 calls in. I was told the front desk had to review and they would call me back. No return call. Finally was able to talk to someone, Victor G, who represented that he was a manager.
Although he wasn't a party to my original conversation at check in, he advised that I requested the suite upgrade automatically by clicking on the upgrade email. He couldn't explain why no upgrade confirmation email was received after making the change. Red Flag
Scarier thing is that with resort fees and taxes, I was charged about $140 a night by this place on a Monday & Tuesday night in early June.
Victor then stated the $40 was for a room upgrade from my original room/rate. I agreed to it at check in? Huh?
Based on the above, Victor told me that they won't refund me for the non disclosed upgrade and to go challenge it with my credit card company. Nice!
When I asked Victor to email copies of receipts, emails or anything they had to support my agreement to the "upgrade" extra charges, you know their proof, he declined and said he would only send it to my credit card company???
Funny, I received an email to confirm my initial $55 a night room reservation with them. But not one re the $400 a night or the $100 a night room change.
Maybe it's just me, but Caesars, MGM, Tropicana or Wynn, anytime you do a room rate change at one of these places, it generates an email confirmation.
If you stay (you were warned), You had better get a receipt showing the charges before leaving the front desk with this place!!!!
Looks like I had zero chance of getting the $55 room rate I reserved, thanks to their constant self serving room upgrades.
