This is a somewhat eclectic spot on the Hampden main street. They offer a wide variety of entrees (with a southwestern/hispanic twist), including burgers, burritos, and enchiladas. All were tasteful and decently sized portions, but were quite pricey. They have lots vegan options, and supposedly started the first Vegan Week in america. They have a lot of seating indoors and can accomodate larger groups. Definitely worth a visit!

Golden West Cafe has a laid-back, eclectic atmosphere with bold wallpaper and quirky wall decor. While the space is visually fun, I was a little surprised to see taxidermy moose and deer heads on the walls—especially at a place that proudly offers so many vegan options. That’s more of a personal preference, but it caught me off guard. The staff was friendly, though not especially personable. Service was smooth and efficient, though. The food was the real standout. We ordered two dishes: the Vegan Hot Honay Chick’N & Waffle and the Aztec Burrito. The Vegan Hot Honay Chick’N & Waffle was fantastic—crispy, flavorful, and surprisingly spicy in a way that was still enjoyable (and I don’t usually like spicy food). The plant-based chicken was one of the best I’ve had: well-fried and juicy. But the real star was the sauce—it pulled everything together. I could honestly eat this every week. The Aztec Burrito had a nice twist with the plantains inside, giving it a subtle sweetness. We kept it as-is (no added meat or vegan chorizo), and while the flavor was solid, the black beans overpowered the plantains unless you were looking for them. Too many black beans. Both dishes were $15.99, which felt like a fair price—especially considering how filling they were. Vegan food often comes at a premium, so it was nice to see reasonable pricing. I also appreciated how clearly the menu marked vegan options and how flexible the dishes were. It’s definitely a great place to bring a group with diverse dietary preferences. I’ve attached photos of the menu for reference. I’d absolutely come back again and try more—this place makes plant-based eating exciting and satisfying.

Overall, I enjoyed my brunch while visiting this establishment. The cornmeal pancakes with cream drizzle was just right!!(not too sweet). I also their lemonade and latte 😋 Will definitely recommend to friends and family

Cozy Spot with Great Food and Vibes Loved my visit to Golden West Cafe! I had a hot chai latte that really hit the spot, and the High Mesa polenta with chorizo and an egg over easy was delicious. They were super accommodating with my gluten-free needs and brought out corn tortillas without me even asking. The vibe is laid back and comfy—perfect for a relaxing meal. I’ll definitely be back!

The huevos montuleños never disappoint! really enjoyed trying the restaurant week menu as well. Thanks Jack for the amazing service! Would love to see some live music in here sometime.

We enjoyed our vegan brunch dishes and desserts. The breakfast sandwich had great flavors which meshed extremely well together. We enjoyed the veganwaffle which was made to perfection. We've experienced several different vegan waffles, this one was one of my favorites. The roasted brussel sprouts were a bit too oily for me. The desserts were good.

I have been wanting to try Golden West Café since moving to the Baltimore area! The ambiance is great- the decor is funky and charming. We went around Christmas so everything was decorated for the season. The moose above our table surprised us! The food was delicious, I ordered the fish tacos and was highly pleased. The fish was crispy and the slaw and picked onions gave it great freshness. The garlic fries were OK, they were a bit cold and soggy but had a nice garlicky flavor. The service was also OK, the restaurant did seem a bit busy so perhaps that is why. Our food took a longer than usual amount of time to be prepared and was lukewarm upon arrival. Our server also seemed to be getting to know the menu and had a difficult time answering some questions, but she was super sweet and attentive to our needs through the night. It was the holiday season, so perhaps things were chaotic. Overall I would certainly return! My whole party enjoyed their food immensely and the ambiance was fantastic. Worth a try especially if you have vegans/vegetarians in your party.

We stopped in last night and had a great experience. We hadn’t been in a while but will be going back frequently now. The menu is creative and unique. Clearly the chef/cooks know what they’re doing and are having fun. It’s easy to indulge or find something healthy. We had zucchini hush puppies that were super delicious. I had the Ham, cheese, and carmelized onion quiche that was also good. Thanks and see you again soon!

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Jesse our server was incredibly positive and hospitable. Food was well portioned and presented. Manager was approachable, knowledgeable and professional. If ordering the zucchini pancakes ask to omit the green onions. Pancakes were cold. But EVERYTHING ELSE was wonderful.

Yelp
Hello, This will be a updated review. I reviewed this restaurant about 10 yrs ago and raved about the corn cakes. This restaurant has gone through many changes and the food is no longer the same. I visited on 7/2525 and ordered the same corn cakes and they are no longer the same as the ones I use to love. They had a very strong baking powder taste and were very thick. I also ordered a side of bacon and they cooked it so long it was like the worst bacon I have ever had at a restaurant. I will no longer be recommending this place. I was not able to add this to my previous review but wanted to make it know that I no longer like the food and will not be returning.

Yelp
I don't like writing bad reviews, so this one is painful to write. However, my hope is that improvement is made in some of the areas I will mention. When we arrived, the hostess started walking us to an area and said to herself "nevermind" and then started walking in the opposite area where we were supposed to telepathically know to follow her. We did and learned that she was not the hostess, but, instead, our server. I instantly wished that we had been seated in another area to have another server. She took a while to take our orders. And, when she did, she didn't seem to be knowlegable of the menu. For instance, she was not sure of gluten free options (and it was not clear on the menu what was gluten free). My daughter specifically selected this cafe after a google search and reading reviews about gluten free options. She does not eat gluten for health reasons. The menu offerings are pretty interestng, and not in a good way. There are tacos, but only fish tacos. There are burritos, but ones with ingredients you don't usually find in burritoes. The attempt at creativity was evident, but it did not seem to result in delicious output. We ordered a grilled chicken salad with apples, goat cheese and walnuts, green chile hamburger, grilled chicken burger with bacon (can't remember the name) and hopi cakes that are cornmeal pancakes. The grilled chicken salad (which we shared as an appetizer before the meal) was the best thing out of everything and it wound up costing over $20 because everything was an add-on and they didn't have a variety of salads to choose from. When the server brought it out, although we told her that we were sharing it, she brought one little itty bitty 5 tsp-sized round of dressing instead of one for each of us. She never came back to check on us, so my daughter had to go to the hostess stand to ask for some more salad dressing. The rest of the food, including the fries touted as "garlic fries," was pretty mediocre. Even the drinks we ordered-- hibiscus rose lemonade, ginger tumeric lemonade and strawberry lemonade-- were syrupy sweet concoctions that did not taste anything like they were advertised to taste like. If I were alone, I would have left.

Yelp
Good vegan food, truly fills you up, nice interior design. I've heard the staff are treated VERY sub-par and the new bar director can be bad to her employees as well (rumors I've heard from prior staff). Also I've heard this restaurant celebrates when other places on the avenue close down? Not a great attitude! But the food and atmosphere have always been good from a customer POV

Yelp
Great food, great service, fun Hampden vibe We sat inside near the open window and it was such a cute spot! Loved the decor of this place too!!! Drinks were great and all was fairly priced :) Food was sooooo good, perfect spot for brunch/lunch! The service was as well, they handled all our requests very kindly and showed us some Baltimore charm Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Not sure if it was a bad day, or just bad timing but the chorizo burrito wasn't the best. I was hesitant on ordering it due to not really being my style but wanted to step outside the box. Everything is a bit pricey but that's expected for the area, the staff was nice and inviting, but could use a few pointers in the kitchen.

Yelp
Okay so here it is bullet point style: - service: FANTASTIC!!!!!! Super kind and knowledgable. - food: we ordered pretty basic. things and they took FOREVER. It was pretty good though. However, it was weird that there was no salt and pepper on the table. I could have used some, but we just ate. - My coffee came out cold AF. My friend's was warm but mine was cold. We were cutting it close to our next appointment so we just made it work. This was my second time going there and the second time being like mehhhhh.... However, I really love the decor and the plants.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a mediocre cafe at best. Service was a bit slow but ok with friendly enough staff. The decor is a bit old and worn out looking along with the tables and chairs. A very casual dining spot for breakfast or lunch. My friend and I dined here over the weekend around noon. It was pretty busy when we arrived. I ordered a latte while my friend got coffee. For food, I chose the Fish Tacos and my friend got the Wild Mushroom Omelette. My fish tacos were so flavorless. The only sauce that came with it was the sauce from the coleslaw, nothing else was added or drizzled over it. Not the best food from my experience here but it's not too expensive if you're looking for some basic cafe food.

Yelp
I recently returned to Golden West for the first time in a long time. We were planning on just getting a quick pastry or sweet treat but ended up enjoying some carnitas nachos. We sat in the back bar area in the couch section which is beautifully decorated with thriving plants. It's such a vibe! It was around 4pm so we weren't super hungry but wanted a little nosh. The carnitas nachos caught my eye. The nachos came out fairly quickly and were made with yummy, melty cheese and delicious shredded carnitas. The carnitas has so much flavor as if they had been marinated in a careful combination of spices for hours (I sensed some nutmeg or cinnamon in there maybe?). I was impressed since I know Golden West is known as a vegan friendly spot but they sure know how to prepare some delicious carnitas too. Although this was a quick stop in, it was a good reminder that Golden West is tried and true and just as good as I remember.

Yelp
I wish Yelp had half stars. This rates as a 3.5. We had an attentive server and generally everyone had a smile on their faces for my little one. I took my 4 year old for a Mommy and Me brunch date. I tried the vegan french toast with bananas and walnuts. It was my first time trying vegan french toast so I don't have much to compare it to. Everything tasted fresh and I would def go back to try some more breakfast items. My daughter enjoyed her burger (no cheese) and the fries were yummy with those big sea salt flakes. She wasn't a fan of the bun on her burger, which was a bit burnt on the inside so she just ate the meat and fries. This is a family friendly, casual spot. There's a nice park/skate park across the street to take your small kids on a nice day. Food wasn't particularly seasoned strongly (my eggs didn't taste like they had any seasoning), but everything did taste fresh. Will def give it another try. I will say there was a plethora of vegan options here, so if you have that restriction, this might be worth a try.

Yelp
Brought my man here for dinner since he's never been! We arrived on a Monday evening around 7:30pm. They weren't busy since it was close to closing time. Our server, Blake, was great in making recommendations and checking on us frequently. I had the birria burrito which had a nice flavor and full with meat. The tortilla did get a little soggy towards the end but overall it was pretty good. The consume was flavored well too!

Yelp
Went here after my graduation and they'd JUST opened. Ordered the stuffed french toast, an egg and bacon. It took them 49 minutes to bring our food and it was cold. Sent it back . My boyfriend ordered the burrito, 2/5, nothing too special and it was incredibly overpriced. The cafe itself is cute but there are other places that will be more attentive with better food. Even after sending back cold food, the bill was still about $35 for the burrito, orange juice and water.

Yelp
I stopped here when I was in Baltimore last weekend and it was so good! I got the chicken and Brie sandwich at it was to die for! As a garlic lover the garlic fries were amazing, but buyer beware, you will need a mint after eating them. The service was lovely and was matched with a very cute interior. It felt so cozy and relaxed. We were sat at a table with a sofa and it almost felt like we were in friends at Central Perk! A must go!

Yelp
Came for breakfast and the food did not disappointment . Though it was al carte ... the food did not disappoint. The French toast and pancakes were somehow made with pure love because they both were absolutely delicious . The service was great and the wait between ordering and getting the food was little to none ! The overall place was just great . Can't even lie the Dolly Parton mural in the bathroom is my FAVE !!!!!

Yelp
My family and I have spent countless birthdays, date nights, dessert runs and brunch outings at Golden West. It doesn't matter when we've gone or what we've ordered, Golden West has delivered each time. To start, Golden West nails the vegan milkshake. My daughter is a fussy eater who is vegetarian but not vegan. She abhors most vegan versions of things especially ice cream. She asks to get a milkshake from Golden West each time we are in Hampden. She prefers their vanilla version. I like what they do with cookies and cream. They incorporate so many Oreos that it turns the vanilla ice cream chocolate looking. Along with milkshakes, we almost always grab coffee when passing by. They have many alternative milk options and different flavors. I usually just do an oat milk latte. For me, the allure of Golden West is their vegan chicken based sandwiches that use Little Fig Chicken, a mock chicken made locally. They offer many different menu items with this chicken. I've had a chicken and biscuit with gravy, a buffalo chicken sandwich a supremo chicken sandwich (with nozzarella sticks) and a chicken parm. You can't go wrong with the chicken and their is a lot of variety to fit whatever your vegan preference is. Golden West also crushes the buffalo cauliflower, vegan waffles and french toast, vegan tacos and fries. The dessert at Golden West is incredible as well. They bring in a number of different desserts from Vegan Treats in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I've been to the Vegan Treats storefront and it is the best vegan dessert I've had. Once I learned Golden West has Vegan Treats items, I started making dessert a priority. Peanut Butter Bombs and cupcakes are my normal go to. I absolutely adore Golden West for all my vegan junk food needs.

Yelp
Decided to spend the day in Baltimore with a friend and we had wandered over to Hampden because it's adorable and there are Christmas lights so naturally needed to find a dinner spot. Walked around the main street in search of sustenance around 5:30 PM and saw a bunch of people in Golden West Cafe along with the promise of live music starting at 6 PM. We ordered a bunch of dishes: -Brussels Sprouts: delicious!!! Super generous serving of well-cooked sprouts with great flavor and not too much oil (of course, I could always use less oil but these were pretty solid for restaurant sprouts) -Zucchini Brie Pancake: surprisingly good! Reminded me of a scallion pancake but also had a strong brie flavor. Both savory and sweet, with an interesting syrup pairing that tasted a bit like vanilla caramel. We were in this! -Chicken, Brie, Bacon: fairly standard chicken sandwich. The garlic fries were good though -Sopapilla Enchiladas: turns out I don't actually like Sopapilla! The sopapilla was a bit too hard to eat. The Unchicken was fine, but I could've used a bit more flavor The live music was AWESOME and the service was equally fantastic! Would definitely come back on a live music night for good vibes and more brussels sprouts.

Yelp
This place is one of my go-tos for brunch. With a huge variety of options including tons of veggie/vegan dishes, they have nearly everything one might want from a diner. They also usually have specials, sometimes highlighting seasonal produce. The ambience is really fun, with quirky decor, lots of plants, warm colors and a huge garage window that floods the place with natural light during the day. At night, it feels like a buzzy casual and unique eatery. These photos are from brunch recently; everyone really liked all their dishes. The food took a while to come out (~30-40 minutes) but drinks came out quickly and service was great. I'm docking one star because over nearly 9 years of coming here, sometimes the food is hit or miss. There's been times where I've gotten food that wasn't very tasty, cooked improperly, or in the worst case scenario, the lettuce was unwashed. But I'm glad I gave it another chance, because I love their menu and all the vegan options are really great. Overall, I would come back for brunch and for their happy hours, where you can get really great deals on drinks and apps. I don't necessarily expect the highest quality food all the time, but it's great when that happens and still worth it to go for the variety of options with a group of friends.

Yelp
Jesse was a great leader bartender, great engagement, good food selections and amazing interaction. Will come back again . I had veg chorizo nacho salad , flash fried brussel sprout, and other patron had veg buffalo chicken sandwich.

Yelp
such a quirky and charming cafe with a vast menu! tons and tons of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as meat options. my friend and i both got the breakfast burrito and it was MASSIVE and soooooo tasty. my chai latte was the perfect combination of sweet and "spicy". we had great service, although it was a thursday morning and not crowded. the restaurant is quite large but there is no outdoor seating. it's definitely more of a restaurant than a cafe but i'm sure on a weekday they would let you camp out at a table with a laptop if you purchased something. parking can be a bit challenging -- there is parallel street parking on all nearby roads (and the road that golden west is on) but can fill up on the weekends. parking is fairly cheap though -- $0.50 / hour. bring your vegan / veggie friends here and they will thank you!
google avatar

Catherine C.

Yelp
The food is solid, with fun vegan and gluten-free options, but service can be hit or miss. I've had great brunches here, and I've also waited 40 minutes for a burger. Still worth visiting if you're in Hampden.
google avatar

Yelp
The vegan options at this restaurant were really great. I went with a group of friends and we all ordered different platters from the menu to sample. I got the chance to try the vegan nachos, guacamole, and chips , vegan chicken Caesar wrap, vegan beef taco, vegan chicken and waffles, and the vegan burrito wrap. The grill and chips was delicious, but the nachos were not my favorite because of the vegan cheese which I'm not enough, but I feel like vegan melted cheese go for it. The best meal was the beef taco. It tasted like a real beef taco. My second favorite was the chicken and waffles. The chicken wrap and the burrito didn't leave any type of an impression on me but if you like beans, you can get the burrito. The chicken wrap could've used a lot more sauce. I was dry so I don't recommend it. Service was prompt. The ambience is super cute. It's a very eclectic location with a lot of different decorations and a very unique personality.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick brunch with a friend on a weekday around 11am. Surprisingly there were a fair number of tables occupied! The restaurant is currently decked out with holiday spirit and it makes for such a cozy and warm environment. We were seated quickly and the servers were very friendly and quickly told us they were out of a few items, which was helpful. They had several drink and food specials but we got a few mimosas (excellent juice to champagne ratio) and ordered off the regular menu. We had the sopapilla enchiladas and fish tacos. The enchiladas are lovely and very filling, but make sure you request hot sauce on the side if you like things on the spicier side. I am looking forward to returning to try more of the menu!

Yelp
It's become a running joke in my house when we order delivery from Golden West Cafe--what part of our order will be *missing* this time? Ordered the Drew Special and there's no pico de gallo or salsa fresca. Last time I ordered from the restaurant they forgot the dessert. I don't get it, is there a reason why my orders are incomplete?
google avatar

Yelp
All my local homies love Golden West Cafe. Whether I'm coming here for a solo lunch to read my book and get a cup of coffee or tea and have a good meal or I'm taking friends that are visiting from out of town for an absolutely wonderful breakfast. I can always rely on the golden west Café. You won't find a funkier interior or staff friendlier.
google avatar

Oscar L.

Yelp
The mushroom omelette I got was definitely filling, but not amazing. It wasn't especially flavorful or special, so I would recommend trying something else. The service, however, was great and speedy. Inside, they have a variety of western decorations.
google avatar

Yelp
We recently had dinner at Golden West. I haven't been there in years, at least a decade if not longer. The space is open and bright- I love the plants in the front dining area. We went on a weeknight so it wasn't too busy. I had a pancake, buffalo cauliflower and strawberry lemonade. The pancake was perfect. It was huge and fluffy and might be my new favorite pancake in Baltimore. I'll definitely order the pancake again. The strawberry lemonade was good but was too sweet for me. My partner loved it though. If there's a cauliflower option on a menu, I'm going to order it. I wasn't a fan of the Buffalo cauliflower. It was soggy and tasted overcooked.
google avatar

Marcus G.

Yelp
If you are looking for a down home morning breakfast with a variety of options for everyone to choose from.. then pull up. For breakfast we tried to separate dishes that were really interesting to try as they were vegetarian dishes. The space is pretty big and can accommodate a large guest count.

Yelp
1105 west 36 street Baltimore, Md May 23 ,2023 4 people 1230 Lots of options for all . Nice to see vegan option since three of us are vegan . We ordered vegan tacos , huevos ranchero , vegan burrito and everything was perfect and tasty . However we waited like an hour for our food and we were in a hurry . Service was good and friendly . Parking is street parking and this was down the block . Can't wait to come back and try some more vegan food .

Yelp
at 6:30 on a friday this place was not very busy. we were seated immediately and the staff was very nice and very attentive. i got a thai tea with almond milk which had good flavor but was pretty weak. for food, i got the vegan month special peach cobbler french toast and it totally blew me away! this was easily some of the best food i've had in baltimore. the dollop on top was some kind of vegan sweet cream. it was really delicious with a wide flavor profile (hint of banana flavor even) and i will for SURE be back. my friend got the special CBPB waffles and i tried a bit, the peanut butter cream is incredible. it's probably hard to go wrong with whatever food you get here. it was outstanding!

Yelp
We had such a great meal at the golden west cafe. In town from Nor Cali, our group included a few who are vegan or eat a plant based diet. My sister had seen this Hampden hot spot on the news so we went... The place is super funky with lots of plants and taxidermy...everything we ordered for delicious with my only complaint being that the tacos were too for me to eat all three. The owner had a chapter in Albuquerque New Mexico so some of the dishes have a New Mexican flair. Starters we enjoyed were the Brussels sprouts and the cauliflower wings. We also enjoyed the Hope blue cornmeal pan cakes, quesadilla, Aztec burrito and the tacos platter with green chili chicken. I really enjoyed the menu. The southeast decor was fun. It reminded me a bit of the Frontier in Albuquerque. I highly recommend for those eating a plant based diet and beyond.

Yelp
The sopapilla enchiladas are one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had. Good Bloody Mary. Servers should make it clear when there is an upcharge when offering substitutions like tots instead of fries or making the Bloody Mary spicy (yes, that was $1).
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Food was quite bland. I'm guessing she was a runner, but she was rude as heck. I didn't even know this woman. Cute place but we won't be going back. I've eaten better food at the hospital.

Yelp
I didn't think I would come here again not because I didn't like it the first time but because its just not a first choice. This time it was. We were thinking breakfast-y food and I immediately thought of golden west. This was a last minute decision to come and I was worried we'd be waiting for a table. Thankfully, we got seated right away. We ordered huevos mutoleos and the Aztec burrito. Each dish was a sufficient portion enough that you can save it for the next meal. I wasn't able to finish mine so I did exactly that. While both a different in their own way both, the huevos mutoleos and the burrito were bean heavy and very filling so prepared to get comfortable on the royal throne. My date liked the food. If they're happy, I'm happy. One of my girlfriends is vegetarian. If she is ever in the area early enough I would take here since they cater to vegetarians.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Hampden! I love their fun decor and food. I always order the same thing since it's my favorite but I really do need to try more things. I always get the sopapillas with chicken and green chilies. It reminds me of my time in NM. My daughter loves to get the different kinds of pancakes they offer. The Elvia pancakes are especially good. It can get super busy on weekends and they don't do reservations so plan to go early.

Yelp
Our family had a good dinner here tonight. Our appetizers included very nice fried green tomatoes and delicious broiled brussels sprouts with sesame oil. Everything else was pleasant. We had a burrito with rice and beans that was pleasant. I had a Mexican dish with bananas, beans, tomatoes that was very nice. The spices were not distinctive, and everything was good. The service was excellent. A nice place.

Yelp
Walked in and got seated in the far left corner by the bathroom, which smelled like cleaner. Didn't complain but waited 40 mins for a waiter to bring water. Thought it might be a race thing. Waved him down, and he came over in 5 mins to take my order. Got the vegan French toast and chips with guacamole as an app with their yummy ginger lemonade as the beverage. The guac came in a to-go plate, unlike everyone else's dine-in plates. Food arrived and was super yummy--the banana and nuts with maple syrup were perfect, though I wish there was whipped cream. The place looked great overall. Just a heads-up for people of color to be cautious when dining here.

Yelp
I cant tell you when Golden West Cafe went from just meh to a foodie destination but I am so glad it did. Every time I go into golden west I know they food is going to be thoughtful, creative, and delicious. The decor in there is so nice and bright with great spaces to relax, the couch next to the gallery wall at the back of the bar is my favorite place to have a drink. Also as the highest compliment I can give a place is Golden West is the only establishment where I can get a vegan meal that I dont miss meat at all. Love this neighborhood place everyone needs to make a visit

Yelp
We decided to come here for Maryland Vegan months. The menu looked interesting for the specials but when we showed up and saw their regular menu, pretty much everything can be substituted and made vegan. One caveat being it's not soy free for the most part (which is so niche I know but this is an FYI for others like my BF who wants to eat more vegan but has a soy allergy.) There are a couple options though. A lot of the Lil Fig vegan options were sold out unfortunately. I decided to get the shrimp lettuce wraps and my bf got the Bahn Mi. Both dishes were solid. If someone made me vegan food like this everyday I'd become a vegan myself. The shrimp wraps were light and yeah a bit messy to eat but worth it. My BF enjoyed his Bahn mi sandwich as well. Ambience and decor are very cool. There was a live band playing and we were sat right behind them initially. Which my poor eardrums suffered till we asked a server if we could move seats which they quickly did and apologized for the inconvenience. Very nice service. Definitely want to come back here again.

Yelp
The menu has been pared down to a fraction of what it used to be. Most of it is vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free. Service was very slow. Also, the air conditioning was on full blast, which made it very uncomfortable.

Yelp
There were many Christmas decorations and Santa was walking around which was cool. They were packed so service was not fast but tolerable. The food was mostly good although they only had vegan waffles. I recommend the farm plate.

Yelp
The food and service was amazing! The place was decorated for Christmas and they had a really cool seasonal cocktail menu with some great drinks

Yelp
DC's lack of casual, eat-in vegan-forward restaurants made me drive up to Baltimore to try Golden West Cafe. I'm so glad I made the trip! The food was tasty and the service was great. I was so impressed that I'll bring my 80+ year-old plant-based eating mom with me on my next visit.

Yelp
Before this recent visit, I have gone to the taco stand outside of the restaurant a couple times-- they have great options and I really enjoy the vegetarian tacos they have outside! Most recently, I went to sit inside because I was looking for a good vegetarian brunch with a lot of options. We were able to park about a block north of the avenue and it was about a 5 minute walk to the restaurant which was not too bad. The best part about this place is that they have SO many options! They have so many vegan and gluten free options (including burgers, burrito bowls, nachos for our gluten free friends!). It was really hard to decide what I wanted, but I ended up getting an Aztec burrito which had plantains, corns, beans, and was topped with salsa and veggies. I liked my burrito, but I did think something was missing flavor wise. it was easily fixed with hot sauce! The person with me got one of the vegan chicken sandwiches was so good! I definitely liked his better than mine. Overall, this place has a lot of good options for everyone! Highly recommend for us who have dietary restrictions!

Yelp
Generally - the food was tasty! I particularly enjoyed the guacamole that came with my chips (appetizer). I also thought my drink was beautiful with glitter!! Downsides were that our waiter brought out my dinner much later than all of my friend's dinners, and he forgot one of our drinks (had a hard time flagging him down as well, so it was a while before my friend got hers with the rest of us). He did put the drink on the house though. Additionally, the tortillas on my tacos were so dry that they immediately kept breaking (photo attached). I would likely give this place a second shot - it's cute and they have a lot of fun menu items. Just hope our service and the tortilla quality is better next time!!
