Near campus for more than three decades, this red-booth classic keeps the drive-thru humming. Visit Lincoln notes its old-school appeal; regulars come for crab rangoon, hot tea, and dependable plates that taste like Lincoln tradition.

Even though this place isn’t open for customers to dine in, I received a text talking about the new lunch specials and that they were serving lemonade just outside of the restaurant, I went out and bought their lunch special and got a lemonade there, talked with a few workers and found out that they hoped to be able for dine in service next month. Great cause I’ve been waiting for a few years now for them to open up the dining room area. Food is excellent and I can’t wait till they open up the dining room for customers. Very good food and prices. Ken S. Lincoln

Google
We love this place & usually don’t have any issues with my order. Ordered the Kung Pow Beef with no bamboo extra water chestnuts which I usually order… Ended up with the opposite. Changed review from 3 to 5, my boyfriend went back today and the owner fixed my order. He hooked me up with some extras as well. Thank you so much, we will be coming back. ❤️

Google
Better than Wall of China on food, service and delivery! At least for me everytime! The food, atmosphere, and service is the best ever! I always tip them for their service! ❤️❤️‍🔥

Google
I grew up going to this restaurant! Pork fried rice was the main dish we always ordered. It tastes like nostalgia. The best fried rice I've ever had! I will definitely cry when or if this restaurant closes! 🩵🩵🩵

Google
The Golden Wok is not my favorite restaurant when I’m craving Chinese food but it is on my side of Lincoln so it’s convenient because it’s on the way home. The food is decent but the crab Rangoon is outstanding! It contains 8 peices is never over cooked and super hot when you get them!

Google
I live right down the street from this place and I've gone here for years and years but last night I decided to go and get hot braised pork there was hardly any sauce on it it was not good also I ordered shrimp toast and it was burnt I was very disappointed

Google
Golden Wok, which is now drive-thru only, has apparently raised all of their prices due to inflation but these prices increases are not reflected on their menu board. They blamed me for forgetting about taxes- that would have been a 31% tax rate! Restaurants should be honest about pricing and charge what they publish. Last trip there ever; too many other great establishments.

Screw Panda Express. I’m switching to this place now cause it’s got better fried rice and has a drive through.

Yelp
Golden Wok has always treated me right! Their prices are very fair and still affordable! This business should have a line at all times!! Their employees are always very kind polite and cordial. As well as always being friendly to me. 10/10 recommend!! Absolute favorite from here is their hot and sour soup. Another favorite entree is the Moo Goo Gai Pan!! I've also religiously had their Tso's chicken, and broccoli beef. SO GOOD!!!!!

Yelp
It was okay. Packaging sucked, they put it in a paper bag then inside of a plastic bag so the steam made the paper moist and it ripped (choose one or the other not both!) Had chicken and broccoli, it was edible just very little flavor and didn't even look like there was sauce on it so I doctored it up at home. Crab Rangoons satisfied the craving however weren't great. I wouldn't not recommend this place but I'm certain there are better options. Nothing to call home about.

Yelp
The dining room isn't open yet but last time I was there, the manager and I were talking about how excited I was for the dining room to open and they started having customers eat inside again. Long story short, I was pleased that they were starting up their lunch specials again so I decided to stop by today and get some takeout lunch and go home. little did I know that the worker who screeched in at the last minute before her shift and they opened. I walked in, said Hi and walked over to the counter to order my takeout order for lunch, I started telling her that I was going to be ordering a lunch special and that it was a to go order. As I was ordering and told her what I wanted, she shook her head and asked which order I was ordering. As I told her that the lunch special came with a partial order of each entree , she said that they didn't have it, I then asked for the manager and she said that he wasn't in today. So, I told her that I ordered this like two weeks ago but she didn't know anything about it and she didn't really understand English very well. Last time the manager got me to stay with them since I've been a long time customer but I guess I'm not going to go back anymore as the workers are not in touch with the policy or the manager just don't care about the customers anymore. Yelp
Not very inviting, very dull outdated spot, tried this place once and that's enough, fried rice terrible and clumpy with no flavor, nothing seems fresh or cooked well all just thrown together. Will not be back.

Kenneth S.

Yelp
When the dining room is open for customers, I really like the lunch menu along with the price. The food is great but since the dining area has been closed for remodeling, I feel that the prices are a little high and I can't get the lunch special. I've been told that the they hope to have the dining room open again yet this year. Can't wait

Yelp
Too expensive, the appetizers are terrible, some dishes are OK like pork with black mushrooms

Trevor L.

Yelp
The best orange chicken I have ever had. This place isn't just amazing but also uses healthy chicken and you can absolutely tell in their food. Along with producing consistent awesome food. Golden. Wok. Is. Great.

Yelp
Must be owned by Morton's Salt. How do you create food that is both salty and flavorless. After two different meals, i didn't even want my plentiful leftovers. If they were inedible the first time what would they be heated up except a meat and sauce glue. The decor is beyond description but a cross between Chiang Kai-shek out of it and Hei Muer (black fungus). After two attempts, I gave up trying to find the gold or a flavorful wok. The only thing good is the exit sign and the door leading out to the restaurant.

Yelp
Great place. Very tasty and affordable. Lunch special less than $7. It includes a main dish, choice of soup, choice Egg Roll or Crab Rangoon, and hot tea. Great deal and very tasty! We had the chicken Lo mein and Garlic Chicken for main dishes. Both were excellent.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Overall it's okay and the food is relatively good in a Chinese Fast Food kind of way. Fried rice is pretty greasy and has only small pieces of Carrot in it, no other veggies. Shrimp in Lobster sauce is pretty tasty and could be split between two people if you got a little extra rice. Speed was super fast. The exterior of the building and the neighborhood could probably make someone think twice about coming over but the food is solid. I can't help but get kind of a creepy feeling though, like the food isn't clean, so it does take away from the overall experience for sure. Took a star away for the really strange ordering process. Very old school (think 70's) speaker outside and it is too loud for one and half the time they can't understand you. You're lucky if they can understand your order even if you go up to the window based on how some of the people in the window barely speak English.

Yelp
Whenever I want comfort food this place is one of my favorite places to go. Most of the front house staff are friendly and welcoming, and if you start coming here often they recognize and remember your usual order. Most of the time when I come in I'm asked how my family is and how I've been doing since my last visit, so I appreciate the neighborly vibe. Plus, as soon as you're seated you're brought water and complimentary hot tea, perfect when it's cold out. All the times I've ordered carry out my food has been made promptly, mirroring how fast I get it when I dine in. I like starting with the egg drop soup, and usually get crab rangoon or the pot stickers for an appetizer. My usual standby for my entree is egg fried rice, but I've tried a handful of the chicken dishes, like the sweet and sour, and while sometimes the pieces of chicken can be a little gristly, overall it's tasty. They give you a full plate of food, and most of the time I take home leftovers for the next day's lunch. The sizzling rice soup comes in a bigger portion by default, so if you feel like sharing something delicious (or want this as your meal), this is a great and tasty option. The decor is a bit dingy and dated, and after sitting in a handful of the booths you can tell they've lost a lot of the spring in the seat. It's a little annoying, but not worth asking to move. I'd really like to see them do some kind of redecorating or renovating, maybe brighten up the interior since it can be a bit dark in the dining room. But, I'll gladly sit in a slightly-sinking booth seat for a sizable and delicious Chinese meal.

Yelp
Wow! I'm astonished by the quality of the food here. I'm from California, so there are lots of great quality Chinese food in the area. I never thought I would find one in Linoln, NE. The food is not salty and the staff is friendly. No recyling of left over food here. Dishes comes in a timely manner and I actually likes the Chinese accents of the waitress. Adds cuteness to a Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
We tried Golden Wok tonight since the reviews were pretty good...pulled up and it looked closed down from how dumpy it looked. But we figured, hey maybe the food will still be good! Don't judge a book by its cover...no...I should've gone with my gut BC the fried rice was dry, chewy, and discolored, the sweet and sour chicken had no flavor and it was mostly pineapple, the beef and broccoli was mushy and the meat had a funny taste, there was a weird soapy taste in some of the food, the potsticker sauce was so sugary I couldn't even use it, they mixed up parts of our order with other food even though it was repeated back to us correctly, and there was barely enough food inside the containers for my family of four! The only thing was was remotely decent or edible were the crab rangoons and potstickers. I should've gotten pictures but I was so disappointed that I just threw it away.

Yelp
We've just moved from CA to NE... we'd been on the hunt for an amazing Chinese food place, and we stumbled upon Golden Wok. We were seated right away, food was HOT, DELICIOUS and served fast! Staff was amazingly friendly and kind. We had definitely found our new go to Chinese food place!

Yelp
Not fancy but one of the Best restaurants around if you like Chinese, Good prices, good service, Great food - what more could you ask for.

Yelp
I would consider this somewhere between 4 and 5 stars depending on what you order from their extensive menu. And keep in mind, this is a casual Chinese restaurant with "Americanized" food - it's not fine dining, nor is it meant to be. Service is almost always very fast unless they're swamped, which is pretty rare in my experience. The speaker at the drive thru can be difficult to understand, but they get your meals out quick once you get up to the window. I've never run into a bad dish here, but there are definitely some I find better than others. I particularly enjoy the Kung Pao Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Green Pepper Chicken, and Cashew Chicken. My standard dish, though, is their Tso's Chicken but done without the breading. This takes an average Tso's Chicken, where the sauce is badly muddled by the taste of the breading, to a great dish in which the sauce really shines. I do like their Hot & Sour soup and Crag Rangoon, and prefer them here to most places. The Hot & Sour is not done in a way that makes it overly dark, which I assume comes from lots of soy, and that's a big bonus for me. And though I'm not a huge fan of either no matter where I go, the Egg Rolls and Egg Drop soup are decent here. Lunch portions make a decent sized meal and come with soup and a couple Crab Rangoons. For the price, it's a great deal. Dinner portions are larger and usually make a couple meals for me, which keeps them as a good deal, too. When you consider speed of service, price, and the overall quality (and consistency) of the food, you can't go wrong with Golden Wok if you're in the mood for Chinese.

Yelp
This was by far the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life. I ordered the sweet and sour pork and it tasted like they burnt the sweet sour sauce and the lo mein was Soooo gross and no flavor we will NEVER go back!!!

Yelp
Pretty dang good! It's in the top 3 for my favorite Chinese in Lincoln along with Shen Cafe and Mr. Hui's. It's close to my work so I may come here more often. The decor inside is typical sit-down Chinese restaurant. The food is reasonably priced with generous portions. The service is friendly and the restaurant wasn't too loud or anything. The only thing that kept it from getting 5 stars was the lack of a wow factor. Sorry this is kind of a boring review, but overall this place is a really solid choice to get Chinese food in Lincoln.

Yelp
Hands down our favorite Chinese place to eat in town! Somehow we always try to go on Mondays when they are closed. Too bad they cant be 24/7!! Tried a lot of different menu items and have never been dissatisfied. Always fast, fresh, and employees are nice.

Yelp
They always say never judge a book by it's cover and I'll admit, I'm definitely guilty here. From the outside, I always wondered how they stayed open, because you never really see anyone parked out front, not many customers at all. BUT! The delivery and pick up is where they really excel, and probably make the most money. Food was excellent, I ordered for pick up, and it was ready within 15 minutes, overall taste was very good, not too salty, plenty of flavour, and definitely enough of it there for the price. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely

Yelp
Golden Wok is a favorite. Family owned & operated, I am always happy to spend my money knowing I am supporting a local business. PROS Lunch & dinner specials are fantastic. Food portions & quality are excellent for affordable prices. Dining area is clean & pleasant. Drive thru. Delivery. Open until 10:00 pm. CONS Wait staff's accent, I have noticed amongst other customers, can sometimes make special requests a little bit more time consuming. CONCLUSION Highly recommended. As you become a regular, you will begin to recognize other regulars, as well.

Yelp
Cheap and fast. So fast I didn't know what to do with the rest of my lunch break. Check out their motto on the front of the menu, it's lengthy and uses made up words. Props to them.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
I'm always satisfied when I eat here. They offer large portions, good lunch specials, & complete dinner combos. I like to get soup & appetizers with my meal & they give you the option to add them to your entree for a fair price. Good family run service. One of the few reliable Chinese restaurants in town!
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
This is by far the best Chinese in Lincoln and the surrounding area. Best I have ever had actually. I love the people that work here and run this business as they are always so kind. Very affordable, healthy, and just all together yummy! I always recommend this to family and friends. I will admit, the building could use some updating, especially on the outside. But it is so good! Support local! Way better than Panda Express! And not far from Downtown!
google avatar

Simon G.

Yelp
Portions are good, prices are fair, and the food is awesome. They also deliver for free to most of Lincoln! My only complaint is how rude the staff can be sometimes. They guy at the register made me feel guilty for ordering carry out at 9:25pm when they close at 10. I was out of there by 9:40 and they still had tables so I don't get what the big deal was but he was very unhappy with me. He told me to order earlier next time and when I went out to my car for a second he yelled over to me not to leave bc he was going to lock the doors. There was still a half hour before closing time. Chill out bro! I had to laugh about it.

Yelp
I am not a huge fan of Chinese food. Golden wok has changed my mind about so many things. I've had Chinese food around this whole town and always thought eh. I have never had a bad meal from golden wok. I tend to get simple things. Mongolian beef is my favorite. I can eat that stuff with steamed or fried rice and never be disappointed. I recently visited and took my husband with me. He had never tried as it is in a kind of sketchy part of town. He is also a fan now. This is our go to fast Chinese food. They have a drive thru but I haven't tried that yet. I have had them deliver and they are very fast. I had my food within an hour. I don't live near golden wok either. The staff have very heavy accents and are hard to understand at times but they are extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend golden wok to my friends and family.

Patty K.

Yelp
Ordered the hot and sour soup, which was sweet, not sour or spicy, and the black mushroom with tofu and bamboo. Both dishes were inedible. Not sure why this place has good reviews.
google avatar

Nathan R.

Yelp
Great value for great food. Lunch special has sweet and sour chicken, an entree, hot tea, choice of soup, and choice of egg roll or crab rangoon. Best value for lunch in Lincoln. They offer carry out, but I would recommend eating in before making a judgement on their food. Locally owned and operated.
google avatar

Sara K.

Yelp
THE BEST Chinese food in town!!! I highly recommend the Princess Chicken, but everything on the menu is amazing. Everyone is super friendly, and the service is excellent.

Nick Y.

Yelp
Called for carry out, they messed up my order because they don't speak english. It's like I asked for 1 soup, the guy yelled "okray you get thfree suups", and I said no. Just one soup, and they proceeded to yell that I get three soups when I wanted one. When I picked up the order I asked if they can take the two soups off, they said I had to pay for it all or I could buy any of it. So i won't be back due to communication problems.

Margaret A.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing, you get a lot for what you pay for especially during the lunch hour for any restaurant in lincoln so far. The staff is kind and the decor is so beautiful. If you want a nice meal with a peaceful setting, definitely recommends!
google avatar

Hassan K.

Yelp
Always been my favorite Chinese restaurant. Their lunch specials that they run are very cheap with big portions. My favorite is the Hot Braised Pork and Princess Beef, both extra spicy.
google avatar

Keith C.

Yelp
Good restaurant in an iffy area. Food was outstanding. Can't wait to try their other menu options

Yolanda F.

Yelp
Not real fancy. Doesn't need to be. Clean. Service is always super fast. Best Crab Rangoon in Lincoln. Wonderful Sweet Sour and Egg Drop Soup. Only been disappointed once simply because it didn't suit my taste. Love their Broccoli Beef. Husband likes the Chow Mien. They have a drive up that is really busy and they also deliver. Super reasonable prices.
google avatar

Angie W.

Yelp
This is my go-to Chinese restaurant in Lincoln. The owner remembers me and what I order every single time... and I don't go there that regularly, maybe once every few months. The service is super fast, and I really like that they have a children's option; I find this to be very rare at Chinese restaurants. The Mongolian Beef is my favorite dish, but sometimes the meat is tougher than others. When it's tender, it is amazing. When it's not, it's still good.
google avatar

Aaron O.

Yelp
Excellent food and excellent value for the money. The Crab Rangoon is great, and I can't stray away from the peanut butter chicken.

Adarsh G.

Yelp
The lady at the front desk was very rude when I asked her for a cup of hot sauce with my takeaway order. She harshly replied me that it costs $1 extra because I didn't mention it while placing the order. She also told me not to repeat this next time. I thought in my mind (but didn't say), that who's coming here next time! Also I observed that they have very small portion sizes compared to many other Asian restaurants and a separate menu with almost $2 higher price per item for takeaways.

Ana B.

Yelp
Went here for a quick bite to eat when visiting the Nebraska state capitol and on our way to chimney rock. I came hungry and eager for some Chinese food but left angered and offended. The server would not let us order egg rolls at first and insisted that we take a look at the menu before. My son was very upset by this. My dear friend with Celiac Disease was accompanying us and asked the server if there were gluten free options. The lady working replied with a cold, hard "No". Zero explanation or apology. We even asked again later and she still offered no remorse. Our poor friend sat there watching us ingest sub par Chinese in despair. Our sever was rude, basically ordered for us, and not once filled up our water glasses. The service was horrible, food was the least impressive, and we basically paid to get yelled at by the server for not eating all of our food and asking about gluten free options. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Food is pretty good, but the delivery service was horrible. We ordered two chicken dishes with a side item, and when it was delivered we recieved a box with what we expected to be our order and the driver went on their way. When we sat down to unpack our food we found out we had twice the amount of food but nothing that we ordered. Figuring the driver wasnt going to fix this issue since they had been gone for a good 10 minutes we decieded to make due with what we had and eat the messed up ordered. Not 2 minutes later a random phone number kept calling my boyfriends phone. After three missed calls he finally answered and it was the delivery lady demanding we pay more money for the delivery she messed up. Of course he said no since it was her mistake but she decided to come back to the house anyway. When we opened the door she let her self in and with out an invite barged into our living room to inspect the food and take what wasnt opened. She still wanted more money, but was not going to give us our original order so we had to forcefully say no so she would leave. Not the best customer service.

Gail F.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for cheap eats and the added convenience of a drive thru window. Their lunch menu is cheap and filling. Tso's Chicken is good and I like a lot of their tofu dishes. For dinner I like to order their Shrimp with Golden Tile, a great shrimp and fried tofu combo. Alas, you can't order this item at the drive thru but you can always call in your order for pickup or delivery. Their pan fried dumplings are a wonderful appetizer and their hot and sour soup is good too.

Dania G.

Yelp
When we called the restaurant for a delivery since we haven't eaten there for a while since the last time we were there inside one of our soups was like a used napkin (it was disgusting and they kept saying it was one of our napkins but we haven't even touched the food since it just got there). But we decided to give it another try but the guy was VERY rude. He gave us attitude and was just plain rude so we canceled our order. We do not plan on going back. The food was always cold and some didn't even have flavor anyways. I do not recommend this restaurant AT ALL!

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I absolutely love the food here! I am not very adventurous and usually get the sweet and sour chicken or the cashew chicken, which both come with crab rangoon. Both meals are consistently hot, fresh, and tasty. The ordering process is fast and the staff is friendly. You get quite a bit for your money and if you don't want to go to them, their deilvery area must be fairly large, because I've had it delivered before and I don't live that close. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Jeremy C.

Yelp
I've stopped in a few times. Atmosphere is lacking for sure, also in a shady part of town. Food itself was "ok", BUT ive had better. One time i found hair in my food and lady told me it was my own hair (hair was long and black, but mine is short and brown)

Agustin T.

Yelp
I don't mind spending money on a good meal but the food definitely ain't worth the price. Left feeling ripped off.

AJ F.

Yelp
The food was not very good the price was quite high and the delivery service lacked a lot to be desired. We won't be coming back....

Ronni P.

Yelp
I have been eating at the Golden Wok for over ten years. My mother first took me and my brother and sister for lunches here when I was about 12 years old. Nothing has really changed since the first time that I had eaten here, I am still amazed by how great their food and service is. I love Chinese food and I have tried many different Chinese resteraunts and nothing even compares to how fresh the food is and how fast the service is. The reason why I give this particular resteraunt 5 stars: Affordable prices, fast and curteous service, relaxing atmosphere if dining in, variety of delicious foods, fresh food that is made to order, options of eating in, drive through and pick up orders, and delivery. The food is very tasty and very cheap with large portions. I love the fact that I can eat in and have lunch for around $6 and be full afterwards. Lunch specials usually offer for around $6: Choice of your entree, choice of 2 crab ragnoon or 1 egg roll, choice of a bowl of hot and sour soup or egg drop soup, unlimited hot tea, and a fortune cookie plus fast and friendly service. They also offer a variety of appetizers as well, my favorite is the deep fried pot stickers and plain fried chicken wings with sauce. My favorite soups are: Egg drop and Sizzling rice soup. My favorite entrees are: Beef Fried Rice, Beef Lomaine, Ming Beef, Garlic Chicken, and moogoo guy pan . There is so much to offer at the Golden Wok and I can go on and on about how great it is there but it is a resteraunt that must be tried by others to truly appreciate what it has to offer.
