Family-run and firmly local, known for big portions and friendly counter service. A go-to on Grafton Street for Szechuan tofu, fried rice, and crowd-pleasing apps.

I’ve ordered from here quite a few times now and each time has been consistent. The food is delicious and keeps me and my friends coming back for more. I will say their coconut shrimp is so good! I feel like the price is pretty reasonable and they give a decent portion size. The staff are also pretty friendly. Inside is pretty basic, there are a few tables, there is also a couple tables outside on the porch. Definitely give them a try if you are looking for good Chinese in Worcester!

Google
All I can say is that this place is simply amazing. I traditionally have gone to a restaurant in Grafton called Wong’s but in the last few years they have significantly fell off. This is where Golden walk shines. The quality of the food is well above average for Chinese food in the area. The quantity may not be as much, but it will certainly fill you up if you get any dinner combination plate. The idea of Chinese food isn’t to make 20 meals but to have one amazing meal and this place did a fantastic job of that. The food was ready on a Friday night within minutes, I can confidently say this is my new go to spot.

Google
Noodle to sauce ratio is an absolute travesty. I highly recommend that if you want chow mein, DO NOT, get it here!

Google
Above average Chinese food, well prepared and not oily. The lunch specials are served in plastic containers (even if you get table service). Abundant portions and the quality of the white rice is good. The restaurant does a brisk take-out business. Both Chinese and Thai offerings on the menu. The place is clean but not attractive as a place to eat — take-out is best option and a good value.

Google
so this has been one of my go to spots for years; deep in tha hood, the food is great, service is fast and order is always fresh and hot.

Google
I'd been looking for a cheap but decent place for Chinese take-out, and after trying two other places around town, I happened upon this little gem. The third time was definitely the charm! They have a sizeable list of Lunch/Dinner specials which include your option of appetizer (egg roll, shrimp roll, crab rangoon) and either fried rice or steamed white rice. The only difference in the Lunch and Dinner specials are that the Dinners are a tad larger and cost a bit more. The place appears to be run by a husband and wife team (maybe brother and sister? I haven't asked specifically), and both are friendly and efficient. They do a brisk takeout operation, for one time that I actually dined in there, no less than six people came in to pick up, pay for, and leave with their orders. I highly recommend the General Tso's chicken special; it's my favorite!

The Blues Electric Resto Bar

Google
Top of my list is the best Chinese food I've ever had. Chinese food is typically a go-to for me, but this place was different. The food is much more delicious!

Google
We have been a customer of Golden Wok for nearly 15 years now. They are our "Golden" standard for a real tasty Chinese and Thai food. Both husband and wife working there are so friendly and welcoming. After Covid they became mostly a take out restaurant, but they do offer some seating. But seating area is very basic. Lady who picks up the phone can recognize all her regular customers over the phone and would remember our preferences. Its best place in this area to get Chinese/Thai food at a very very reasonable price.

Yelp
Food is delicious! Really good quality, taste and prices are reasonable. Service was quick, food was hot and fresh even after a 20 min drive home! Cute restaurant but more of a take out restaurant. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
We bought so much food for a very affordable price. My family and I were craving some cozy Chinese take out and WHAT A FIND. Service was great. We kept adding to our order and the staff was so patient with us. There was also parking outside the restaurant which is ALWAYS a plus. Overall, exactly what we needed after a long work week. We will definitely order again!

Jemma A.

Yelp
We usually get food from golden wok and it is usually good but this time wasn't good at all. I ordered pad thai with shrimp and chicken lo mein. The pad thai was so bad it tasted bad and smell awful.

Yelp
So I haven't stopped by here in a long time thought I would stop and get a quick meal and as always the food is absolutely amazing fast service food is hot and fresh absolutely love it

Yelp
If you're craving umami Asian flavors THIS is your spot! Everytime I come here it hits! I always get the Singapore Mei Fun which is packed with chicken, shrimp, veggies, egg, etc. it's flavorful but I always add a pack of soy sauce to level it up. The portion is huge- I get 3 meals out of one order. The egg drop soup is just a basic egg drop soup, can't go wrong. I always utilize their online ordering system and order in advance. Food is always ready and still got when I go to pick it up. The guy working at the counter is very nice too! The interior is kinda old looking but idk, it kinda adds to the ambiance? This is my go-to spot when I want fast Asian food and I highly recommend!

Yelp
Wicked awesome love their food, the people who work there are always friendly and happy to see you, the seating is great indoor and outdoor seating. Food is always hot quality is good and it doesn't take them too long even on a Friday.

Kim N.

Yelp
Quite disappointed for the house fried rice and lo mein we ordered. The pork tasted stale and started to smell foul. We paid more for the same quantity of food.

Charlene N.

Yelp
1st time going, was very disappointed it was extremely salty threw $48 in the trash! Place could use some updating, especially the floor gross.

Kay P.

Yelp
Golden wok is my go to Chinese cuisine place when I am craving Chinese, the food is out of this world the crab Rangoon is just super delicious,! The service you here is what you want to get when you come to a restaurant and the atmosphere is just amazing

Yelp
Love this place for take-out! Vegans- ask about dishes and they will let you know about ingredients. I asked about dairy in the food (read: I sometimes eat egg so I didn't specify about this, but I feel like they'd be accommodating if you asked!) and they said they hardly use dairy for any of their dishes. They can get busy on weekends but still they're always kind and efficient. The veggie lo-mein is so, so delicious and super yummy as a leftover, too. Also a huge fan of their drunken noodle with tofu (spicy!) and general tso's tofu (comes with white rice).
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
We order take out here at least every month. My favorites here are chicken wings, lo mein, crab Rangoons and their Thai dishes - Thai basil fried rice and drunken noodles.
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Great food and super affordable! My favorite place in the area for Chinese! Can order on an app through their website too
google avatar

Marco A.

Yelp
Really solid food and great prices as well. Ordered it fro a group of friends and everyone was pleasantly surprised how good it was as well. The food came out shortly after ordering it. The best part about Golden Wok is the great prices. I would highly suggest ordering from the lunch plate and combination plate menus.

Yelp
Great restaurant and great food.. The PUPU platter is good for me and my hubby. Also love the crab Rangoons.

Yelp
This place has a good reputation and it's not easy to find high quality Chinese these days ... I didn't find it here. Ordered 2 large vegetable fried rice, 4 egg rolls and large boneless spareribs. I gave this place 2 stars instead of one because the egg rolls were tasty and cooked nicely. Ribs were pretty meaty as opposed to fatty and if you like your ribs in a saucy mixture you may like these; as for the rice total disappointment; had to search for a vegetables which I find illogical because veggies are not going to break the bank but what is worse then the sparsely decorated rice was the fact that the guy collecting the money... which I assume is the owner ... acted like he was parting with a kidney when I asked for some duck sauce! he said he was going to do me a favor and give me a small container for free ... I expected that the one he gave me for "free" was in addition to the one that came with my food but when I got home there was no sauce or mustard with all this food!! Thank goodness I asked for some or we would have been eating dry rice. I have NEVER in all these years had to pay for duck sauce as they usually put some in the bag with your order! I will never patronize this place again too many other places that want to keep the customer happy.

Skye J.

Yelp
I love this place! Nice, family run and very fast. I have always gotten take out and everything you need is always included. I am only sad they do not serve my favorite sesame noodles anymore, but I still love them!
google avatar

Ella Y.

Yelp
Omg this is literally my favorite Chinese food spot in Worcester. The beef lo Mein has that nice smoke to it from the wok and tender meat. You have to get their crab Rangoon it's actually so bomb. I always usually get the combo meal and I order the beef lo Mein with double boneless spare ribs and crab Rangoon so good. With the spare ribs you get real chunks of meat and not shrubs of fat and some meat like other restaurant places. Plus my sister loves the chicken wings here.
google avatar

Kurtis L.

Yelp
I order the large pepper steak & onion. It mostly onion and peppers and not a whole lot beef. Granted I had a few bites already but it was probably no more then double what is shown in the picture. There was no flavor. Most of the flavor came from the onions. Disappointed, like I knew I would be. Most of these reviewers haven't been to a good Chinese restaurant.
google avatar

AJ C.

Yelp
Easily my favorite American Chinese food place in town. Food's always fresh, whether be the crispy sesame chicken and egg rolls or the savory black bean sauce. If you're expecting authentic, not your place. If you're expecting new and exciting, not your place. If you're expecting cheap, salty MSGoodness, this is your place.
google avatar

Kaylee A.

Yelp
My go to Chinese fast food takeout in Worcester. Their food is good! They're also very quick. I haven't had anything bad yet. However, I still prefer best chineses chicken wings on Main Street. The chicken wings here are a little sweet or something.. can't beat best Chinese's chicken wings

Hea K.

Yelp
I've been to Golden Wok many times for takeout, and they are consistently great. They do stir fry entree dishes better than anyone else in the area. They also give a small rice with every entree you order. We are a family that typically does not like a lot of meat in our dishes, and they do a better job balancing the dishes out with fresh, well cooked vegetables. The broccoli is always crunchy and not soggy like other places we order from. The owners are very nice, and they are happy to change sauces on our stir fry entrees. We will continue to order from here!
google avatar

Yelp
I was looking for a quick lunch since my usual Chinese spot is closed for three months. The reviews were decent here, and I understand why! May not look like much when walking in, but food was very flavorful, extremely affordable (combo plate, bottle of soda, and a side was less than $15), and it took less than ten minutes to come to the table. I was very impressed and will definitely be coming back. They also have online ordering available via an app, which seems easy to use.
google avatar

Yelp
Favorite Chinese restaurant in Worcester!! Definitely going to miss when we leave. We get take out from here here every other week. I love the boneless spare ribs and crab Rangoons and my boyfriend always gets the beef lo mein. They are always so nice here and quick!
google avatar

Abiola O.

Yelp
I've ordered take-out from here way too many times to count. Their food is delicious and consistent, and serves as my comfort food after both a very tough or super rewarding week. My favorite dish to order is the shrimp egg foo young-it's so very flavorful, a great deal and I can make it stretch for a few meals. Often times I will pair it with their crab rangoon (!!!!) or spare ribs. I haven't tried any of their Thai dishes, nor have I eaten in to enjoy their quaint dining room, but I would certainly boast this restaurant as providing the best Chinese take-out in the Woo.

Steve M.

Yelp
Great food and great service. My favorite place for takeout Chinese in Worcester. Boneless spareribs are the best around. I pass at least 20 other Chinese restaurants to drive to this one.

Jo D.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible. Duck sauce was thick and jelly like. My chicken fingers had veins in them. Meals are small. Gross.
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite fast food Chinese restaurant. Every dish I have tried so far has been good and flavorful and on top of that they use really fresh ingredients compared to all other restaurants. They also serve Thai dishes so that's a bonus as well. Highly recommended! Service has always be good so no complaints there either. One of my favorite items to order is the pan fried dumplings. Yum.
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
Fantastic food. We go come here often for take out and have never been disappointed. The portions for the price are fantastic as well. Highly recommended.

Maria B.

Yelp
Our go-to for Chinese takeout. I love the house special hu fun, but everything we have tried is fantastic.
google avatar

Krizia S.

Yelp
I liked this place a lot. The hose lo mein was really tasty and had a lot of the different meats. The lo mein was the large and was a good portion. We had plate with ribs, chicken wings and crab ragoon. Crab ragoon filling was tasty. That plate needed more rice, but was good. The spring rolls are excellent. Not to nice on the inside but great food. They need delivery!!!!! I will definitely be coming back here. They service was good. Nice people.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been looking for a good Chinese food take-out place in MA for years. Golden Wok is everything I could ever want! They don't deliver, but you can order through the Beyond Menu app and it only takes 15-20 minutes before your order is ready. My favorite dishes are the General Tso's Tofu and Sesame Noodles. Both are delicious! The tofu is crispy and the sauce is great. My boyfriend and I will only eat from Golden Wok when ordering Chinese food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Alicia Y.

Yelp
I love this place. I have ordered from here a few times when I was visiting/house-sitting for relatives in the area, and it blows my local Brighton Chinese options out of the water. My standard Chinese food order is sesame chicken or General Gau's with pork fried rice and an egg roll. I have ordered a sesame combo here every time I have gone, and I have yet to be disappointed. The chicken is tender and flavorful, and the rice has also had a lot more pizzazz (read: recognizable vegetables and pork) than many other places, and it has never been overcooked. The egg rolls have also been crispy and yummy. And when I have gone with other people, they have also had rave reviews of their food (which included crab rangoons, beef teryaki, and boneless spare ribs). It's still not the absolute best Chinese takeout I have ever had (Mei's in Pembroke, NH still holds that title), but it's a close second. The best part is that this place is super-inexpensive with fairly generous (but not intimidating) portions, and the folks who run it are friendly and efficient. I will definitely continue to order from here when I find myself in the Grafton Street area!

Lynne M.

Yelp
This little place pleasantly surprised us. We found it on Yelp, I doubt I would have ever walked in from street. Food is very fresh and made to order. Nice variety of options and specials. The couple that owns it are super nice as well and the food is very fresh. The dining room is ok, more like a take-out place than traditional restaurant so we usually do take-out. It's a great option for around here where there aren't many great Chinese places.
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
I get takeout from here all the time. The food is always delicious and the service is always polite and curt. We generally go for the appetizers or noodle/rice dishes because their chicken dishes don't seem as good. Overall a great place for takeout or delivery.
google avatar

Nathan H.

Yelp
Golden Wok is a pretty solid spot. They provide quick and friendly service with a wide range of items to choose from on their menu. The portions were a bit smaller than I expected, and think the ingredients used could've been slightly improved, but overall eating here was a positive experience and thoroughly satisfied my appetite.
google avatar

Marissa V.

Yelp
First time going here was New Year's Eve this year. On their webpage it listed you could do online ordering. However once we started browsing through the menu there was a notice that said no online ordering. This confused us a little bit so we just called in our order to go and pick up. We had a some chicken wings, crab Rangoon's, fried donuts, sesame chicken, and pork fried rice. It was all ready within 30 minutes which I thought was decent for New Years Eve. The place was easy to find and the parking lot was packed with cars. Once we went inside to pick up the place was weirdly not furnished on the inside. It had the appearance of an empty room with just a register and one table where all the takeout orders were stacked up. It was a strange sight but the food was pretty good regardless. The only complaint is they didn't pack sauces or fortune cookies in our bag which was disappointing.
google avatar

Rob L.

Yelp
I find their food to be hit or miss. Some of their dishes are delicious and others are mediocre. However, I've yet to find anything better in the area so I continue to go there.
google avatar

Katie J.

Yelp
We hadn't had Chinese in quite awhile so we got takeout from Golden Wok since our favorite place has been closed for some time. We ordered a few different dishes such as the lo mein, chicken fingers, egg rolls, fried rice and general tso chicken. The food was honestly below average and I was very disappointed in the general tso chicken as it was small pieces of the breaded chicken fingers with some sweet and sour sauce for us to pour on ourselves. The fried rice barely had flavor and wasn't like other fried rice I've had before. I don't think we'd go back and hopefully our old place opens up again soon.
google avatar

Kaye C.

Yelp
Had stomach ache after I ate there food. Sesame chicken and egg drop soup. Had to go bathroom all night after I ate dinner. Never again. The pain of my stomach is like going thru labor I swear!
google avatar

Paulo Henrique S.

Yelp
The best chinese restaurant in Worcester. The family that works there is really friendly. I definitely recommend this place. The price is really affordable for the quality of the food.
google avatar

William F.

Yelp
Cheap Chinese takeout in very large portions. Golden Wok is probably a replacement level takeout spot. It's certainly not terrible, but nobody would go out of their way to get this. The menu has all the American-ized classics and they do a decent scallion pancake (good texture, could use more scallion). I got the feeling that the dishes are catered to an audience that isn't expecting much spice or particularly bold flavors. The Ma Po Tofu is fine if you happen to have chili oil on hand, but doesn't resemble the dish you would get a a Sichuan restaurant.
google avatar

Maureen B.

Yelp
I'm new to the area and found Golden Wok as I drove by. I got home and looked in Yelp and liked what I read. The Staff is friendly and efficient. She calls me by name and one time when I called and she couldn't get to the phone, she called me back and apologized for not picking up. The sesame chicken is crispy and has fresh chicken. Not the pieces that look like an after thought like other places. The chicken fingers that the family demand are The first ones that They didn't have to pick off a pound of batter to get to the chicken. Pork fried rice is fresh. I don't love their crab Rangoon but that because I'm picky and just don't prefer their recipe to others. Same on the scallion pancakes. I like them soft and fluffy and theirs are on the crispier side. Still fresh though. As a bonus, I feel like I get a bag of food and it's always $10 cheaper than every place I've ever ordered. Their Covid protocols are top notch also. No worries here!!
google avatar

Ray A.

Yelp
love love love this place! The food is great and the people are nice. Did I mention the food was great?! Prices are reasonable and the quality is top notch. lets just say they know me by name:-)
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
The food at Golden Wok is some of the best To be found in Worcester. It is uniquely high quality compared to typical Chinese food that you'd expect. By far one of the best items on the menu are their boneless spare ribs. While many restaurants have stringy gummy red strips, the ribs here are meaty and perfectly cooked and sauced. The dinner combos provide generous portions and a chance to try other things at a fair price. Another great item to try are the dumplings which are consistently great quality dumplings. They offer online ordering which makes it easy to get exactly what you want. The service in person is always great and quick as well.
google avatar

Brandon H.

Yelp
Really happy with this place. Wasn't expecting too much from the area as we're used to having 20 different Chinese places to choose from in Chicago, but Golden Wok was outstanding! Pan fried dumplings were really good, as were the egg rolls / crab rangoon. Mongolian beef had a solid flavor and the shrimp fried rice was a large portion, and not greasy at all. When we're back in the area we'll be hitting up Golden Wok again for sure.
google avatar

Ricky J.

Yelp
Reasonably priced, decent sized portions, tasty! I particularly like their Beef Teriyaki and Crab Rangoon.
google avatar

Ini C.

Yelp
This is my favorite chinese restaurant so far! Had the best beef broccoli. So good and NOT greasy. My husband favorite too. Keep the good work!
google avatar

Thomas D.

Yelp
Right now you're looking for your next Chinese take out joint. Stop your search right now and order here. This place is really awesome. General tso chicken is 10/10.

Yelp
Very good Chinese, best I've found in the neighborhood. Chinese is one of those staples (like Pizza) where you need to experiment with places and find ones you like. Sadly, for living in the city (Worcester) I've found it hard to find a great standby for either Chinese or Pizza. Golden Wok is my current standby, they're pretty good. I won't say GREAT but 'very good' is accurate. It's always subject to personal tastes with Chinese. Me - I am looking for your standard, greasy and delicious but awful for you appetizer type foods. (Don't expect dim sum or a Thai place - this is a standard take out/eat in Chinese place) The place is clean and everyone's friendly, the prices are reasonable too. I always pickup my takeout, though they have a dining area. (not sure if they deliver?) The food is good, the standard Chinese fare has been good to me. The rice is very good, I love the goons and chicken wings. If you venture into trying some of their entrees (General Gaos, pad thai, etc) - note that it may not be what you expect. I found both good, but it's not what most restaurants would give you as those dishes. It's hard to explain, just warning you that these dishes seem to be 'their take on' the dishes. One thing that bothers me a little is their pupu platter comes with TWO standard shrimp dishes - I don't eat shrimp. So if you like shrimp, you may LOVE this. So when I call I have to be a huge bother and substitute them out, which is an inconvenience (especially when we both have accents) - but they're friendly and accommodating. Oh also - they always ask if you want more duck sauce as they're ringing you up, which I love. They go out of their way to make sure you have enough. Some Chinese places seem to get offended when you ask for extra sauces - how dare you! "Everyone want extra" I was once told, angrily, at a different place. Golden Wok seems to want to make sure you get everything you want and that you leave happy, which is really nice. So when I'm not in the mood to drive across the city to the GREAT places (reviews to come) - Golden Wok suits me pretty well to satisfy the Chinese craving.
