The Hottest New Restaurants in Queens, May 2024

"The open-space dining room gets packed with Flushing locals, so be prepared to wait during peak times. The specialty here is fresh seafood — you’ll see many tables topped with lobsters lacquered with saucy seasoning — and as the name suggests, wontons. The wonton soup here features a variety of wontons, each as fat, slippery, and perfectly wrinkled as the next, with strands of bok choy and seaweed swimming in the rich broth. If you love whole fried small fish, the anchovies here are crispy with a fluffy coated batter. There’s no cart, but the dim sum mainstays like shrimp rice rolls are always on deck." - Caroline Shin, Eater Staff

31 Glorious Chinese Restaurants to Try

"The Korean neighborhood of Murray Hill (in Flushing, not Manhattan’s East Side) may not be the first place you’d look for a first-rate Cantonese restaurant, but this place has it all: dim sum, fried fish, noodles, great wonton soup (as the name suggests), and several premium lobster presentations. Don’t miss the deep-fried anchovies." - Robert Sietsema

Very busy restaurant, we had king crab dinner with other dishes. Service was great and dishes were fantastic. Wonton soup, king crabs, fried rice and shrimp was my top favorites, but really liked all dishes. Can’t even remember all of them. Definitely recommend, and make sure to call ahead.

Busy restaurant with great Cantonese-Chinese dishes. Service was very fast. We ordered: Pan-fried flounder, fish fillet and tofu casserole, and seafood chow fun. The portions were generous.

We wanted a seafood dinner and decided to try this restaurant. We ordered the king crab dinner for $888. This included: 1. Lobster with Fresh Fruit salad 2. Sauteed dual sea clam w.crispy milk curd 3. Pan fried lamb chop w. dried shallot 4. Four Treasure Stew Soup 5.King crab, Two Ways (7 LBS) (Fried rice/house special style) 6. Famous garlic aromatic crispy chicken 7. House special steam live fish 8. Snow pea sprout W.three king of eggs 9. Braised noodle W.chinese mushroom It is suggested for 10 people but since we had 3 children with us, we could not finish as the portions were big. The king crab was so good and I liked that we tried it in a variety of styles. At the end of dinner, we had a dessert soup too. The restaurant had a decent amount of people in it, large parties and small. All the dishes looks amazing. The king crab fried rice was my favorite.

My go to spot for Lunch/Dinner with my family. Came here tonight with my friends, we got the famous fried rice and half aromatic chicken and pea shoots. (Forgot to take a picture). The food came out quickly and great service.

Google
This restaurant might serve some of the best Cantonese cuisine in the New York area. Their dishes lean toward traditional flavors, and both the main courses and dim sum are incredibly authentic with perfect cooking techniques. Their signature dish, especially the dumpling soup, is the best I’ve ever had — thin skin, generous filling, and incredibly flavorful broth. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Cantonese food.

Google
Great restaurant, have been coming to this restaurant for many years with family, and they can accommodate a very large group. Once we had a group of 15 and needed 2 tables, but we made it work. They get very busy with dinner and on the weekends. This spot is great for eating alone or for groups. Cash and credit are both accepted, but cash can be cheaper. Unisex bathrooms are available. Highly recommend getting the grouper and the Peking Pork chops. 05/2025

Google
Really solid Cantonese spot here on the outskirts of Flushing. Portions are huge, and prices, while not cheap, are reasonable for the quality. Been back several times now, and can see why it's quite popular

Google
Our first time here for lunch. It's a bit expensive if order dim sums compared to many big Chinese restaurant around... The lunch special is $9.99 with white rice. This price is pretty good and the portion is moderate. Very tasty but really too salty. We also ordered 西洋菜 watercress dumplings noodles and the dumplings are very salty.

Yelp
We dropped by for a quick snack but were super pleased by both of the dishes we got, so will definitely be coming back for a full meal. Of course, we got the wonton soup which was delicious. I believe they scale the number of wontons based on the number of people (and also the price, lol) so no need to order more than one unless you really want a lot of wontons. The soup itself was flavorful and the wontons were superb - they definitely deserve to call themselves Golden Wonton King :) We also ordered the salt & pepper fried squid which was also very good. The dish was clearly freshly fried and the squid pieces were extremely crispy. Make sure you ask for a side of chili oil to just add a bit of spice.

Yelp
Best deal in flushing for cantonese lunch special!!! $10 for lunch!!! Tax not included extensive menu from veggies, pork, seafood, beef and chicken. Comes with rice and soup. Done takeout and sit in. Quality is the same for both. I would come again definitely. Service was fast for pick up. Lots of locals dining in. That's a good indicator of the value this place has!

Yelp
Went on a busy Sunday afternoon for lunch and this place was buzzing! Despite it is a ways away from the Main street center, about 10 min drive outside of prime Flushing. This location is perfect with ample street parking, unlike that of Flushing! We waited about 15 mins for our table. We ordered many dishes to share, such as the Lobster rice special, steamed fish, beef with asparagus, water spinach, eggplant chicken casserole and of course had their famous wonton soup! You cannot leave without ordering their wonton soup! Which is made with homemade wontons and dumplings in a white bone broth. So satisfying! Overall, very busy restaurant, especially during the weekend, food is solid and extremely delicious. I will absolutely return!

Yelp
I have a mix bag of feelings for this place. Don't get me wrong. First impression the food was great. We came here for lunch and got their signature wontons, and dumpling varieties and their beef rice noodle rolls and curry stews. Definitely top notch. BUT, this review is literally day and night. Lunch was great but dinner was a different story. We've ordered their supposedly famous roasted garlic chicken, their walnut shrimp, the stir fry maws, their clay pot fish and tofu, their salt and pepper porkchops. First off the chicken was old. Definitely was pre made before hand and reheated. Most places makes it fresh and keeps the juices where the white meat melts in your mouth. Majority of the meat was dry and tasteless. They doused it with large amounts of toasted garlic to hide the smell of the chicken. THIS was a disappointment. Their response was that is how it suppose to smell like. Strike one. Their stir fry maw that we've ordered was a special discounted dish. They even have that on their poster stating that it is one of the specials that you can order. They up charged us full price and their excuse was that we have to STATE that we wanted the "discounted" version vs the full price version. I didn't feel like arguing how business works... so please be careful when you do see a special discount on their walls. Make sure to let them know. In most businesses they would honor the discount and apologize and let the future waiters know to let the customer know that you have to verify if you wanted the discounted or full price of a dish. This would've been a correct way vs them showing me the plate.... as if I was an idiot and didn't understand how ordering works... Which was rude. Also one of the waiters said they would discounted this time and at the end he changed it to "Sorry, you ordered the full price version". I didn't care for the cost, but the principle and how business works. The walnut shrimp was also a dissapointment. I'm assuming due to overwhelming orders. The chef fried the shrimp but didnt give it enough time to crisp up and then tossed into the sweet mayo... they somehow stirfried it where the flour became goop....and the mayo melted like gravy... it just had a weird texture. The Salt & Pepper Porkchops. I think they forgot the salt part? Cause none of it had any flavor... just Pepper and garlic. The Fish Tofu was probably the most tasteful one out of the bunch. Overall dinner was a bad experience. I probably won't come back for dinner if they're gonna penny pinch or if it's over crowded cause they can't seem to bust out the dishes with enough seasoning.

Yelp
I love the food here and the staff were very nice. The place is always crazily busy, especially at dinner time. Unfortunately, it can get really loud. I would recommend come here for lunch instead dinner.

Yelp
It's good to have a Cantonese restaurant amongst Korean eateries in the area. The food is ok compared to other Cantonese restaurants. The fish was flavorless. Their signature garlic chicken was good - crunchy on the outside and moist inside.

Yelp
Very competent Cantonese seafood/dimsum place in Flushing / Northern Blvd. Had the usual: clam black bean sauce, sautéed beef scallion, snow pea shoots. But the lobster over sticky rice special, was really really good. Compared to other places, the rice was crunchy and full of interesting ingredients. Not steamed sticky, but more like fried rice with crispy bits. Per my Cantonese friend, this is the painintheass way of making this special rice. 2 pound lobster fried mixed in. About 50, total worth it. Place is growing on me.

Yelp
We went here last weekend for Father's Day off a recommendation from my friend. This is such a great place. Walking in, you can tell the place is clean, spacious, and don't feel crammed at all one bit. For soup, we ordered the wonton soup. Initially, I asked myself why am I ordering wonton soup from a Chinese restaurant such as this. But wow, it was amazing with the wonton beautifully homemade and wrapped with plentiful ingredients of meat and shrimp. Really fresh and you can actually buy a frozen pack of 30 wontons for $30. This was an amazing dish and a must order. Another dish that knocked my socks off is the veal platter which was really tender. We also got the filet fish which they deboned and with the fish bones, they fried it and used it as a base. That dish was very clean to eat and the okra pieces complimented it. Of course, the lobster with mayo and walnuts are a staple in any Cantonese restaurant. Some so-so dishes are the peking pork chop which we felt were a bit too fatty, and while we enjoyed the lobster sticky rice, it was a tad too oily...but a definite try for sure. Overall, the dishes are very decent in portion and service was excellent. In terms of parking, it is just street parking and shouldn't be that hard given it's close to a residential area. This is a must try and highly recommend.

Yelp
Another visit, another delicious Cantonrse style family restaurant meal. Ordered the lobster with sticky rice and beef chow fun. Lobster any style here is only $34.99. The sticky rice will add another $15 but worth it. The beef chow fun dish portions is huge and only 15.99. Service here is always great. Will be back for more!

Yelp
Located right outside downtown Flushing which makes it a little less crowded and easier to find a parking spot. Friendly and prompt service. We tried the mixed fried rice, Singaporean noodles, lobster, garlic chicken, sweet and sour spare ribs, and tofu. Our dishes came out pretty quickly. Decent sized portions and there was plenty to go around. Lots of large parties here for dinner even on a week night.

Yelp
Went here to dinner for 3 last night. Place is jam packed with regulars and big families. Been here for the 2nd time now, service is fast and neat. The master chef who cooked behind the layer was tremendous at his job along his comrades. There are no bad dishes, anything you can imagine is cooked to perfection. They have live dungeness crabs, alaskan king crab, live fish. I love Canto food, this place is a solid 4. We ordered Jumbo shrimp mayonnaise with broccoli and walnuts, salt peppers squid, NY wonton soup, the green veg sauteed with garlic, and half crispy garlic roasted chicken. Everything fresh, especially the squid, its easy to know if squid is fresh or not is thru their texture and chewiness, if you chew and easy to shallow, then its good to go... this would definitely be a place to be back once every week or month, you wont be disappointed!

Yelp
BLUF: Well-executed standard interpretations of Cantonese fare. Unpleasant acoustics. Golden Wonton King (糖潮滋味館) is a Cantonese restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. The food here rivals the top-tier banquet hall Cantonese restaurants in Queens, but we find the acoustics of the main dining room to be terrible. One can barely hear oneself or others at one's table when the restaurant is crowded. Between dine-in and take-out, we would likely choose take-out for future visits. Food: Very Good (4 out of 5 stars). Standard interpretations; well-executed and well-balanced -- not too salty, greasy, etc. Dishes we've had include: - Jumbo Shrimp with Walnuts in Mayo Sauce (沙汁核桃蝦球): $28.99. - Rack of Lamb (香煎羊仔扒): $32.99 for Small order. A bit dry. - Salted Fish, Chicken & Eggplant Casserole (鹹魚雞粒茄子煲): $18.99. - Sautéed Snow Pea Sprouts (炒豆苗): $19.99. - Sautéed Clam with Black Bean Sauce (豉汁花蜆): $18.99. - Dumplings in Soup (淨水餃): $9.99. These are very good, seem quite natural. Decent flavor to the accompanying soup, not like dish water from other places. Other: - Service is good. They are attentive to additional requests for drinks, refill our teapot, and give us a change of plates without being asked. - Complimentary VPN-friendly Wi-Fi is available.

Yelp
I was always curious how there was always a humongous crowd outside this restaurant and finally got to try it. We came for a late lunch on a Sunday and it was bustling even after prime lunch hours. We got a wonton noodle soup, Peking pork chop lunch special, and the beef chow fun. Everything was delish! The beef chow fun had a good portion size and had the softest beef pieces. The Peking pork chop comes as a lunch special option which is ideal when you just want a piece or two per person. The wontons were flavorful and plump but the egg noodle and soup were a little lacking for me, contrary to the restaurant's name. If I had to get this next time, I would probably just get the wontons with no noodles. I've also tried the tang zai jook for take out before - many toppings and very flavorful! I recommend reheating this and adding a little water at home if you like a thinner consistency. Parking can be a challenge challenge but will probably be back soon!

Yelp
I came here from NJ because my father wanted to try this place. It was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to drive here from NJ. If I'm in the neighborhood, why not. The food was authentic, but some items missed the spot on taste. We ordered a lot of different things but nothing stood out. Solid 3 stars.

Yelp
We loved this place so much, we went back again with my wife's parents. They don't eat that much do we just ordered the 2 lobster special, shrimp fried rice, Chinese greens and No. 1 wonton soup again! Inflation is ridiculous because 1 week later and the 2 lobster special is more $5 more! Still a great deal, just not as good as before! We also tried the turnip cake dim sum, which was pretty good but not as good as the go to items above. We will be back to try the Dungeness crab special!

Yelp
Review #888 is an auspicious and good luck number that I wouild like to confer on Golden Wonton King. After having both lunch and dinner here, I can say that I can highly recommend them for their Cantonese cuisine. At lunch, the Bone Broth Wonton Soup is fantastic! It seems the milky white broth had been simmering in the kitchen for days, extracting every last bit of flavor from the pork bones. There is not a lot of difference between the wontons and siu gao dumplings. Contrary to what is said on the menu, they both contain pork and shrimp, so be careful when you order. My friend is allergic to shrimp and had to send his pork dumpling soup back because it has the same filling with shrimp. The limited dim sum offerings are made fresh to order, so we tried the roast pork rice rolls and the fried dough rice rolls. The soy sauce they use is too thin and they should use the sweeter dark soy sauce for the rice rolls. My favorite was the Pan-Fried Shrimp & Green Chive Dumplings and I'm glad they come 6 per plate because I ate half of them. Returning for a group dinner on a separate night was a good idea. Our group of 6 walked up to the restaurant and they were advertising dinner specials in the window that I wanted to take advantage of. $30 for a pair of lobsters (any style) sounds like a good deal. The pair of crustaceans were a little on the scrawny side, but we had them done Cantonese style (w/ minced pork & egg) and the wok hay taste was great. The other special was Fish Lips & Peppers in XO Sauce, which sounds strange but was pretty tasty. Other dishes rounding out dinner were West Lake Beef & Cilantro Soup, Egg Tofu w/ 3 Mushrooms, Scallops & Squid in XO Sauce and Ong Choy (Chinese Water Spinach) w/ Preserved Bean Curd. We also tried a dish of the Beef Chow Fun (dry). It didn't look that great when it came with the rice noodles looking really mushy, but I was pleasantly surprised because it was pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if they made the rice noodle sheets fresh in-house. My favorite though was the House Special Flower (Manila) Clams. The clams were larger than what you usually get elsewhere and they were cook dry with minced pork which was really good with rice. I might have to try the Rock Snails in Black Bean Sauce next time. My only drawback was that they did not have Peking Duck similar to Wu's Wonton King in Chinatown. Dessert came in the form of Mango Pudding squares (just like at Wu's) and Sweet Pumpkin & Tapioca soup. Don't knock it until you try it! I would have inhaled the whole dish of pudding squares by myself!

Yelp
A special shout goes out to Yelp Elite couple Joe P and Cathie P for recommending this authentic Cantonese restaurant. I came here for a Saturday lunch and waited only 15 minutes to be seated when I came around 1 p.m. I was first given a number. After my number came up and the waiter hurriedly escorted me to my table, I ordered the sautéed lobster with ginger and scallion. It was surprisingly cheap: only $30 for two fresh lobster. The entree was thoughtfully put together. Fresh-cut ginger and scallions were scattered throughout the dish, and the soy sauce that I added intensified and assembled all flavors. The food was delicious as was the complimentary mango pudding. I will certainly come back to try some other menu options. I have my eye on the pan fried fish cakes with clam and celery (dim sum) and the sautéed razor clam with black bean sauce (main course).

Yelp
So you know you really love a place when you go back 3 weeks in a row to an area you can't stand because the parking is so horrible! Kids were home so we decided to have Easter lunch at our new favorite place. We were looking forward to the lobster special but apparently they sold out yesterday so we ordered the Dungeness crab, one fried, the other in the scallion and ginger sauce. I have been wanting to try the crab so it was perfect! The price not so much...but today was a special day so we splurged and ordered way too much. We ordered the usual Number 1 Wonton Soup and the Chinese greens. Daughter was not feeling shrimp so we opted for the House special fried rice. We also ordered the Singapore noodles. The soup is still a favorite. Just so rich in flavor. We actually enjoyed the House special fried rice more than the shrimp fried rice. The singapore noodles also had solid flavor. The place was packed and we were told 10-15 minute wait. Sure enough it was about a 10 minute wait. Don't be scared of the line out the door. Just be careful where you park. Today being a Sunday, parking was thankfully okay.

Yelp
This place has delicious seafood dishes! To my surprise, the have lunch specials! The price is not too bad and they serve it with a bowl of soup. I had the fish fillet and tofu lunch special and the 2 style wonton soup with noodles. It was way too filling and perfect on a cold day!

Yelp
TLDR: Solid Cantonese fare in an area of Flushing that's predominantly Korean restaurants. Definitely get the signature Wonton soup and don't sleep on the radish cake. I've been wanting to try this place for quite awhile. Popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprise. We were short on time but got a few things. Salt & Pepper Silver Fish. Crispy but nice and airy, very enjoyable especially with the fried garlic and chilies. Pan-fried Radish Cake. Wow - hot, crispy but tender on the inside with plenty of radish. Probably better than most versions I've had at even the better dim sum houses. Probably my favorite thing from this meal. Rice Roll with Crispy Dough and Shrimp. Silky smooth rice roll, HOT crunchy dough and the shrimp was perfectly bouncy. Signature Wonton Soup. This is a bit different, it's a creamy bone broth with three different types of dumplings. Very generously stuffed and super tasty. Flat Rice Noodle with Fish Balls. This was just OK. Something was missing from it - probably wouldn't get this again. However - just based on the other three dishes, I know this place is good. I'm planning to return to see what's up for dinner very soon. This place might be famous for their wonton but the dim sum here is on point.

Yelp
I took out food from Wonton King while shopping nearby. Order same quickly and delicious! I tried their salt and pepper pork chop and Singapore. Noodles! Spring roll also. All Yummy! My friend enjoyed them too.

Yelp
Third visit didn't disappoint. Sauteed lobster with sticky rice, house special fried fish, bok choy we're all exceptional. I love this place.

Yelp
This is a very traditional and local Cantonese restaurant The signature fried rice is the reason we came here for. It taste damn good OMG It contains dry scollop slice and little dry shrimp, stir-fried egg slice and raisin. And the most important is, there is something crunchy inside. I asked the staff what it is. The staff said this is their secret recipe lol. Even the chef didn't tell them. Their fried rice is the definite worthy coming to try. Recommend to everyone. I also ordered Yummy Chicken Casserole, and Egg Tofu Mix Mushroom. Both taste good. However, the Squid Salted Pepper is bad since the squid is not that fresh, and it's bland. They will provide some dessert after meal, each for per person. I was served a Mango Pudding and Pumpkin Sago. Both taste good. The staffs here are all nice, especially when you speak Cantonese, they will treat you as families. Well but I couldn't represent those people are not Cantonese. Sometime they will feel rude about their tone of speaking.

Yelp
The food wasn't bad! There's a lot of seafood dishes, and there's a really nice vibe. I definitely suggest getting their seafood if you go here. The crab was good but can be a bit messy with the shells. However, the stir-fried dishes were amazing. The restaurant is quite large, with lots of seating. Servers were attentive and would suggest dishes to try if you're not sure what to get. Love all the Canto style dishes so this was an A+ for me!

Yelp
Authentic Cantonese cuisine! There aren't many left in the area. It's nice to see a new one open up. Rice rolls. Had the beef version. These were awesome. The Rice roll itself was a perfect texture, smooth and silky. Beef tasted good, not too much added starch like many other restaurants. Definitely get one of these. Try the 3 dumpling noodle soup so you can 3 different types of dumplings. Choose your type of noodle. My preference is ho fun noodle. So you get 2 of each type of dumpling. Each were well made and quite tasty. None were too salty. Perfect the for health conscious or elderly, but still tasty enough. If you need more flavor, dip them in soy sauce which is on each table. All the dumplings were a nice size and not filled with big chunks of fat like some other places. Decor. A medium to large sized restaurant with lots of floor to ceiling windows. Simple decor with several large tv's decorating the back wall. Clean and well maintained fish tanks filled with live seafood, are in the corner. The have a few private dining rooms off to the side. They speak English and Cantonese here, so break out your rusty Cantonese if you know it. Final Note: They serve old school, rice casserole in clay pot! The hot pot is brought right to your table. Looking forward to coming back and trying one of those. Looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes!

Yelp
Had another refreshing meal here! The seafood is so clean and fresh. I loved both the eel and the clams. The eel sometimes gets rubbery, but not here. The meat sauce comes with the clam is really flavorful. I combined the garlic oil from the eel and the meat sauce with the rice, and it's to die for.

Yelp
Bone broth wonton soup- love their lunch specials and it's a solid Cantonese restaurant in this area without having to go into the heart of Flushing. I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner. I'm coming back as I know their food has been consistently great quality

Yelp
New, clean restaurant on Northern Boulevard that serves traditional Cantonese food. Everything we ordered was flavorful but salty. Pan Fried Veal Chop w. Dried Shallot: Super tender meat. House Special Style Dungeness Crab: Garlic stir fry crab coated in a crispy batter. Fish Filet & Tofu Casserole: Soft fish and fried silk tofu. New York No. 1 Wonton Soup: My favorite dish. There was a whole shrimp in each wonton! They served two free desserts at the end - mango jelly and sweet pumpkin tapioca soup. The soup was so delicious - I still think about how good it was!!

Yelp
Great, fast, attentive service for a CHINESE restaurant. Brightly lit, full of commotion, and peak noise. Such is a true Cantonese establishment. Came here for an early Mother's Day dinner, table for 6 and 8 and was promptly seated. We got the usual canton affair which consist of half a crispy garlic chicken, twin lobsters Cantonese style, golden fried rice (their house special), salt and pepper pork chops, fish filet casserole, pork belly with preserved vegetables, and mixed vegetable with Japanese egg tofu. Everything was flavorful and rich in depth. I would say the outstanding favorite for ensuring was the golden fried rice that had a balance of subtle savory with a hint of sweetness from the gold raisins. This restaurant reminded of Canton Gourmet IYKYK... Highly recommended off the beaten path of flushing!

Yelp
Had the curry beef over rice and the fish with tofu over rice. Both were absolutely delicious for a typical Hong Kong style lunch. My only complaint is the location. Parking can be a little tough during busy hours.

Yelp
Above average taste and selection however felt every table was rushed due to many patrons waiting. Lack of street parking especially on weekend.

Yelp
Second trip within a week Knocking my original score of 5 down to 3.5 Waited approximately an hour for a table. It's Saturday night. Super busy. The wait staff was not as pleasant as on our first trip. The air conditioning was insufficient and there was a number of flies in the place everyone had to keep swatting away from their food. Was really in the mood for a steamed fish (ginger and scallion)... was disappointed at the firmness of it. (I expected it to be smoother, softer). The crispy fried chicken was a bit tasteless and the breast meat was dry. Though not their fault... the twin lobster over noodles was not great steamed (it should have been prepared the usual Cantonese style... someone in my party ordered it steamed). Wasn't a fan of the Eggplant/veal casserole (but others in my party liked it). Dinner is usually accompanied by complementary dessert and/or fruit and they had tan out of it. The wontons were good! My true rating for this trip is 3.5 stars. Will still go back at an early hour to try their noodle soups and congee.

Yelp
I am always looking for a good Cantonese restaurant. I read a lot of good yelp reviews and I decided to give a try. The restaurant was bright with a modern decor. the service was excellent. The food was average. The shrimp with the sweet sauce and walnuts was over sauced. The sauce made the shrimp room temperature. We ordered salt and pepper pork and the pork was more fat and bone than pork. The lobster with ginger and scallions needed more ginger. The sautéed snow pea tip were crispy and delicious. The place was packed. Cantonese people know good Cantonese food. I disagree with my my fellow yelpers. The food was average.

Yelp
FREAKIN RIDICULOUS!!! We went there for a birthday dinner. We order a special deal where we can choose 2 seafood out of the 4 choices. We choose lobster for 34.99 and geoduck for 49.99. The lobster was ok but the geoduck...THIS CAME OUT!!! IT WAS SO FREAKING LITTLE!!! We confirmed with a waiter and he said this is it and it's on special for the price. YEAH...SPECIALLY EXPENSIVE FOR THAT AMOUNT! Other stuff were okay but THIS WAS A TOTAL RIP OFF! BEWARE!!! Do not order the special unless you don't mind your money go to waste. The only reason it's 2 stars instead of one was because the food was ok.

Yelp
It's no wonder why they claim they're New York's #1 place for wonton soup! I used to think Big Wong was the best, which it still is. However, this place comes close and isn't as far :). Even their black pepper beef and seafood is authentic for Hong Kong style dishes at an affordable price. Parking can be a challenge on the street, so park in the nearby shopping mall lot to buy some groceries while you're nearby.

Yelp
Authentic Cantonese Style food with fresh ingredients. The flavors are not too salty and the portions are pretty big. They have lunch specials on weekdays. It does get crowded after 1230pm on weekends. The wontons and watercress dumplings go well in any of the noodle options.

Yelp
We have frequently this restaurant at least five times in the last few weeks - mostly dinners and one lunch. Great Cantonese food every time and very reasonably priced. Some photos below that I'll add to when I go back. Reminds me of the old places in Manhattan Chinatown but much more brightly lit. Agree with Cathie P. about the parking - got to get lucky but check a couple of blocks away for more options.

Yelp
I have high expectations for a new establishment. Especially for hygiene purposes as we are still living in this pandemic. Extra attention to detail should be warranted. We found stains and a piece of hair on supposedly washed plates to start off our dinner. Made our tummies turned a little. I feel the price for all the dishes were overpriced. We got a small fish dish that the server pushed on us and found out later that it was $70. I would say it can be justifiable if the dish was more flavorful. However, it was super bland. Also, not a typical Cantonese restaurant that offers free tong sui. We ordered the sesame tong sui and it was $8. I'll definitely come back and give it another chance after they work out the kinks.

Yelp
I saw so many reviews on this place and I had to come try their star dish-- the dumplings! We came around brunch time and were seated right away. This place is really casual, with lots of staff working, and a huge menu. We ordered the small pot of the dumplings & soup, the fish cakes, pork rice rolls, and scallion pancake (not pictured). Most of the items on the menu were brunch/dim sum items, nothing special. The food does come out piping hot, but it was a little bit of a wait for the items. The dumplings were definitely the star of the show. I did read some reviews that the broth and dumplings was both sweet and savory, making it confusing for others to distinguish the flavors. Understanding that the broth may not be the most "authentic" and "slow cooked," it tasted fine. The soup had seaweed and veggies, but it didn't add any value to the soup, so it was alright for me. I was more concentrated on the flavor and texture of the dumplings. The dumpling wrapper was definitely on the thin side, which is what I love for a dumpling, and the filling had a large amount of shrimp and filling. Overall, the dumpling it self tasted good, and for the price of a small order, it was not bad. It was not the BEST dumpling that we have ever had, but it was pretty good for the price. The rice rolls and fish cakes were not anything special. I could have done without the items, but we wanted to fill up on food since we were here. This place was overall alright, though most of the food seemed like it was missing something. Maybe it was missing the "wok hei" that Cantonese dishes usually have. In addition, the dishes on the menu were pretty simple and plain.

Yelp
If you love Cantonese food then this is the spot! I'm based in Brooklyn but I would not mind traveling all the way to Queens to eat here. Place does get packed pretty quick. I highly recommend their signature wonton soup which is an assortment of wontons. My bf is very picky when it comes to food and he enjoys this place very much! Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the wonton soup but the lobster with sticky rice is amazing as well!

Yelp
Food was overall good. The chives in stir fry was old/hard to chew, but maybe its just for that time? There's also fried crispy small fish in the house special stir fry. All the dishes were fried before finish (egg tofu, lobster and chicken) so they soak up the flavor. We also ordered the New York #1 wonton (forgot to take picture). There were three different types of wontons in the soup and I def recommend try it. It comes in a decent size and we shared among three people.

Yelp
Many, many choices for Cantonese food in the Flushing area. We were told that this is the Flushing branch of the one on East Bway in LES. Small dinner with buddies and wanted to try the freshness of the.luve seafood. The live shrimp were medium sized, but somewhat mushy, not the crisp texture we were expecting as in our other experiences. Borderline "ready to sleep" shrimp. The dual lobsters "Cantonese -style with black bean, egg and sauteed pork sauce" were better and tasted like childhood. Ginger and scallion style has been the most popular for the last 20 years, but it was always "Cantonese style" before then. The "New York's #1" soup dumplings were flavorful and the bone broth they were gently swimming in was rich and savory. Problem was mostly the super bright lights and the border line freshness of the live seafood. We Cantonese know our seafood and can tell when they're just past prime.

Yelp
Had a assorted wonton in soup forgot to take a pic of it. 3 different kinds of wontons consist of 3 different stuffings and all tasted great and juicy. The soup was good too especially on a cold night. Special stir fry dish has chives, squid, some kind of small fish like anchovies, mushroom and some other stuff. Great texture all mixed together. Mushroom with egg tofu was flavorful. Garlic crispy chicken has enough flavor and the fried garlic bits topped it off nicely. Although waited very long for it. 2 lobsters cooked in stir fry style and they were in decent sizes. Could use a bit more flavor in it but the meat tasted fresh at least

Yelp
Recommended by my Hong Kong friend and this grand open restaurant does not let me down. On Easter sunder dinner time, I was impressed by the crowd at the restaurant. We ordered NY #1 wonton soup, garlic crispy chicken, chicken& taro XO sauce casserole rice, and braised noodle w mushrooms. The wonton soup has 3 different kinds of wonton and the portion is big enough 3-4 people. I like shrimp dumplings most. Garlic crispy chicken is super delish. The chicken skin is very crispy and meat itself is tasty enough that you don't need any other sauce for it. The casserole rice could be a little better if rice crust is more burnt. The noodles with mushrooms is fresh and fine as we have expected. I will definitely go back to try more different dishes.

Yelp
Pretty new restaurant in the area that opened about half a year ago. The inside was very brightly lit and very clean. The staff were nice and friendly as well. New York No. 1 Wonton Soup: Very delicious, the meat was crisp and the skin was thin and smooth. Each wonton was a hearty mouthful of meat. The soup had kind of a milky and earthy flavor which was interesting. Braised Noodles with Chinese Mushroom: I've been craving 伊面 for a long time now and this dish definitely satisfied that. There were plenty of vegetables inside as well which I liked. The noodles were firm enough that it was nice and chewy and still held up its own shape. This dish was a bit more oily than I'd like, though. Lamb and Bean Curd Stick Casserole: The lamb does not taste gamey at all. Lots of the chunks of lamb are mostly bone though. The bean curd sticks are pretty soft with a nice texture. The flavor of the sauce was pretty rich, but not too overwhelming.

Yelp
The taste was average, blend like Chinese taste. A little too pricey but the service was excellent, fast service and polite. Everything was fine but Chinese Broccoli was very bad with cutting. It was too big and it was hard to eat.

Yelp
This review is not for the food but for the service. The food was amazing, however I'm deeply disappointed with the service of my waiter. We added an order of beef before the arrival of our food. After finishing all 8 dishes and asking for the check, we noticed that the beef never came. This was almost over an hour after we had placed the order. Since we were already served dessert and about to leave, we asked to cancel. That's when the waiter began arguing and almost yelling at my dad. Thank god the manager came over and immediately apologized, canceled the order, and gave us a new check. My dad even apologized to the waiter and gave a 25% tip making the bill close to 300. I was so shocked when the waiter shoved against him rude as hell and ignored his apology!!! What kind of service is this?! What kind of waiter ignores an apology from a customer who gives over 25% gratuity?! I understand if the dish was made but it's been over an hour! If you haven't served it and people are about to leave then you should remove it from the check! I've attached a photo for reference. I've been to many Chinese restaurants and I'll admit they don't have the best service. But I've never met someone this rude. I hope this great restaurant with this reasonable manager fires this server. He needs to fix his attitude. *Forgot to mention my parents are old customers that come here multiple times a year. They told me not to write this review but I cannot stand someone being rude to my parents.

Yelp
Ordered chicken with cashew nuts and fried rice. Fried rice is fantastic but the chicken dish is very disappointing. Never seen green been in chicken with cashews, the whole dish tastes so different because of the beans :(

Yelp
The place is very standard Cantonese. It is clean and absent of fancy decor. I come to this place whenever I crave the standard Cantonese style steam fish. It has not disappoint. The service is always very prompt as i stay away from Fridays and the weekends.
