I saw so many reviews on this place and I had to come try their star dish-- the dumplings! We came around brunch time and were seated right away. This place is really casual, with lots of staff working, and a huge menu. We ordered the small pot of the dumplings & soup, the fish cakes, pork rice rolls, and scallion pancake (not pictured). Most of the items on the menu were brunch/dim sum items, nothing special. The food does come out piping hot, but it was a little bit of a wait for the items.
The dumplings were definitely the star of the show. I did read some reviews that the broth and dumplings was both sweet and savory, making it confusing for others to distinguish the flavors. Understanding that the broth may not be the most "authentic" and "slow cooked," it tasted fine. The soup had seaweed and veggies, but it didn't add any value to the soup, so it was alright for me. I was more concentrated on the flavor and texture of the dumplings. The dumpling wrapper was definitely on the thin side, which is what I love for a dumpling, and the filling had a large amount of shrimp and filling. Overall, the dumpling it self tasted good, and for the price of a small order, it was not bad. It was not the BEST dumpling that we have ever had, but it was pretty good for the price.
The rice rolls and fish cakes were not anything special. I could have done without the items, but we wanted to fill up on food since we were here. This place was overall alright, though most of the food seemed like it was missing something. Maybe it was missing the "wok hei" that Cantonese dishes usually have. In addition, the dishes on the menu were pretty simple and plain.
