New place we happened to walk by and we were surprised how good it was. We got the kimbop and the rice cakes and both were freshly made and spicy and flavorful. I could chew the rice cakes for days. The Tom Collins were refreshing and delicious as well.

Golmok might have the best tteokbokki in Seattle! (Maybe the best anywhere?!) The sauce is the perfect balance of spicy-sweet-salty, and I appreciate that they offer you more sauce if you run low. Their twigim (fried foods), are all perfect: crispy, delicious, and not too greasy! We ate here on a late night, so they were sold out of the chicken...the food was so good we had to come back earlier the next day to try the corn-cheese chicken! And we had planned to just order the chicken, but we could not stop thinking about the tteokbokki, so we ordered it again...no regrets! Basically, if you come here, you MUST get the tteokbokki!! It's perfect for dipping twigim and kimbap. They totally nailed the Korean "alley market" vibe, so it had my friend and I reminiscing on our Seoul study abroad days. This will be my go-to spot when friends visit from out of town!

Google
Korean American here, so happy this place exists! Food is very authentic, ddeukbokki in particular has amazing texture. Rotisserie chicken is juicy and the sticky rice inside is so good. Tbh the only Korean place in seattle proper that I would consider to be actually “Korean” food and also high quality. Everything else is either Americanized fusion or just pretty meh. Drinks are tasty too.

Google
The portion size was honestly a joke. The chicken was just okay. They’re serving street food, but the price point is nowhere near street food level. I might come back if my friends are really into it,, but I’d still be disappointed by how little food I’ll get. Cleanliness: Pass Service: Pass Vibe: Pass Taste & Flavor: Fail Revisit intention: Maybe

This place just opened 3 weeks ago. Stella was our server and she was so sweet! We ordered their tteokbokki which was tasty! This was the biggest tteok ever lol. Really enjoyed their tonkatsu kim bap. Loved their offering of sugar free soju. Fun atmosphere and lively. And to top it off they were playing kpop 🤍

If you're looking for a legit Korean pocha, this is it. If you're a Korean living here and missing home, this is going to remind you of home. 한국이면 화요일 퇴근 후 술에 취한 아저씨 20명을 볼 수 있는 곳이에요~ The soondae, kimbap, and rotisserie chicken with sticky rice are all really good. We also ordered a side of tokpokki sauce which was really delicious, sweet and a touch spicy. It was opening day or near it when we went and the staff were very friendly and the speed and quality of service were perfect.

This place is very authentic. Park the owner greeted us, was extremely warm and had us try the tteokbokki which was delicious. We had kimbap and highballs and genuinely was amazing. The vibe was also awesome. Absolutely recommend.

Yelp
Kind and attentive staff Food overall is nothing special but is on theme to the retro/bar food and tastes good. BUT the chicken was new and something I had eaten in Korea only. Would recommend as a fun place to try with friends! We went on their opening weekend, got there 10minutes before they opened, and waited 1 hour. It would've been about a 45min wait but we wanted to sit at the table.

Yelp
Just went for their first day of soft opening. Super chill vibe inside - gave me a lot of Korean pojangmacha (street food) feels back from Korea! There was a long line for the soft opening weekend so it seemed a bit hectic for them, but the food was delicious! Tteokbokki: they use thick rice cakes and I liked the sauce. This has a true old-schooled street food taste from Korea. Twigim (Korean tempura): we ordered squid, veggies, porked stuffed pepper, and seaweed rolls. We really loved the fried seaweed rolls (김말이) - I saw a lot of other Korean stores just use frozen ones from Korean grocery stores but here, I could tell they made them fresh and that's so much better! Loved the porked stuffed peppers and squid as well. All of these pieces are huge! We had to ask for a scissor to eat them more easily. Odeng pot: fish cake and rice cake sticks come in pot, which looks pretty cute. The soup was super deep and flavorful. Boochimgae (fried mungbean pancake): this is a thick Korean pancake made with kimchi and pancake. My husband really liked it. I thought it was a bit too thick and wished it was more crispy, but I think that's just a personal preference. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars yet is that the service had some mistakes, although we understand this is their first day. The Odeng and fried dishes came out way before Tteokbokki. As someone who was born and raised in Korea, I'm used to dipping the twigim in tteobokki... but we realized they had forgotten our tteobboki order so we got it much later. By then, the twigim had gotten cold. It was still tasty but would've been much better if they had come out together. They had also forgotten some toppings on tteokbokki, but they were prompt in bringing them out when we mentioned it. I think our non-Korean server had some troubles with the menu item names which were in Korean. It was a bit of a struggle to place the order. Overall, we loved the food and I'm sure things will run more smoothly over time. Probably the closest thing to authentic Korean street food in Washington! I love this concept and I've had great experiences from the owner's other ventures like Chan, Meet, and the Cheese Room. Golmok did not disappoint and we are excited to come back after their grand opening!

Yelp
Was excited to try this restaurant as it's brand new in a good spot. Overall I wasn't impressed and just thought things were expensive and just average. The tteokbokki tasted fine and I did note that the rice cakes were much larger than I was used to so it was chewier but it only came with 4 rice cakes and a few fish cakes -- for like 12 dollars idk if 3 dollars is fair for one rice cake. I was pretty disappointed in the kimbap as well, we think it had been prepared or something bc the meat wasn't warm and was hard by the time we ate it. Maybe we picked the wrong kimbap but it was mainly the tonkatsu for me and I didn't feel like it was evenly distributed with the veggies. The service was really nice and friendly and prompt and I really liked the decor and the outside seating area and I liked the dishes a lot, looks like Colby jack cheese.

Yelp
Ambiance is fantastic, and Golmok really livens up the street! Service was attentive and friendly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food fell short. I was most excited for the crispy rice rotisserie chicken, my absolute favorite in Korea and something I haven't been able to find here, but the chicken came out dry, and the rice was drenched in oil instead of being light and crispy. Honestly, I've had better rotisserie chicken from a grocery store for a fraction of the price . I didn't get to try any drinks, but they all sounded delicious.

Yelp
I had the greatest dinner here! We were treating some friends for catsitting and this was a fantastic place for a shared meal together. The staff was so friendly even with how extremely busy it was - there was a line out the door and some. We waited a while for a table and they were so thoughtful they gave us free milkis when we were seated. And of course the food was gooooood. The rotisserie chicken in particular was a standout. The corn cheese treasure trove that sat above the sticky rice made my day. Put sticky rice in anything and I'm guaranteed to love it. And it came with pickled daikon and cabbage. So much food and so worth the cost. The toast, tteobokki, oden, and kimbap were also all great - although if they hadn't run out of the soondae or pancake we probably would have gotten that over the kimbap. Love the structure of the restaurant too. It's a small space but feels so open. My boyfriend mentioned he's glad that even though Taku closed, the space has been taken over by a great alternative.

Yelp
New korean spot that just opened up next to salt & straw. Maybe it'll redeem cap hill asian food, maybe it won't. Its ambiance is strikingly similar of the previous restaurant it replaced: Taku. It appears they're going for a late night korean street food with alcohol accompaniment vibe. The tteokboki's sauce was pretty typical, but the rice cakes were anything but. They resembled engorged but edible versions of the michelin man and the texture was overly chewy. 3 out of 5. The oden pot broth, however, was very very good and this was a sleeper. The perfect amount of salty, savory, spicy, and a deep flavor profile. The tuna kimbap was quite typical and there a prevailing tuna taste. It is canned though, so don't get caught off guard. The korean toast was also very standard, except the jam really messed up the chaotic amalgamation that korean toast normally is. It was overpowering and sour and really diverged attention away from the other flavors. I think that menu item would benefit a lot from keeping the jam in the jar, so to speak. I think cap hill's asian food remains where it is. This restaurant was fine but doesn't move the needle.

Yelp
I was excited to go to try this new restaurant, but left disappointed. While the ambiance and vibes were great, the food was bland. The Bindae-tteok (pancakes) lacked flavor and the Tteok-bokki (rice cakes) were alright. The tonkatsu kimbap was the best dish there.the dishes are extremely pricy for the quality of food. The servers were all very attentive and nice.
