Yelp
Service, coffee and vibe is great. WiFi is hit or miss in case you plan on working there for awhile.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of their seasonal Horchata latte. It has been my summer favorite for the last few years. Good coffee is very aesthetic and consistent. Sometimes there is a line and the wait is a little long. The staff is very friendly and they are very well treated. It is very expensive at $7 for a latte with no modifications. I don't come often for this reason unless I have a very intense craving. There isn't a ton of street parking if you come after 8am fyi. The space is very clean and spacious with lots of light. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor.

Yelp
We typically stick to our usual drinks, but this time we ventured out and tried their Cold Brew and Smoked Cardamom Assam Latte, which had been highly recommended. We're so glad we did. The Smoked Cardamom Assam Latte was a unique and delightful surprise, and we finished it quickly. It was not "too out there," and was actually quite refreshing and tasty. The flavoring was light. Their Cold Brew was outstanding, offering a clear and clean taste. This coffee shop easily ranks among the best we've tried in the area. I only wish they had a presence in Southern California too, so we could enjoy their exceptional offerings more often. If you're in Portland, don't miss the chance to visit this coffee shop. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I was craving coffee and found this place, with 20 more minutes before closing. Environment: spacious, lots of shapes and the colors are modern and stylish. They have lots of other merch around the side (their own ground coffee, cups, and chocolates). Staff: She was friendly and waited patiently for us as we decided what to eat. She also kindly answered our questions. Drink: I got an iced latte with 2% milk. It was not as strong as other brands but it was very refreshing, lighting, and smooth. I enjoyed it. The price was $5.50 which is a tad more than other coffee shops but that area seems fancier, too so I guess everything costs more there. Anyways, she let us stay until it was time for closing 4pm and thanked us before we left. It was a nice place to hang out and chill and you can also sit outside on a nice day!

Yelp
For me, Good Coffee is Portland's best city-wide café. Some folks scoff when cafés expand. I understand since we Portlanders stan for non-franchises more than anything else. However, Good Coffee does a superb job of adapting its design and aesthetic to each neighborhood, and Slabtown's is no different. The large cargo doors, ambient indoor space, private tables, and open-concept area are ideal for this area. Good makes the best unique-flavours of lattés, especially when they are seasonal offerings. The team does a fantastic job at making orders quickly, so expect to leave within 5 minutes if you are in a rush. But, if you stay, there are abundant choices for seating. I like the private area surrounded by plants beside the bar area. Restrooms are tricky to find, but the staff will be there to help! It would be cool to see Good introduce unique espresso martini options in the future for afternoon/weekend service - especially since many patrons are waiting for nearby restaurant tables.

Yelp
Good coffee, spacious and comfy cafe, and quick & friendly service! I had the Matcha Lavendar Lattee and it was great - flavorful but not too sweet!

Yelp
This place is my go to coffee spot when I'm in Portland! I love the outdoor seating area and they have indoor seating as well. My drinks always taste good and I really like their espresso. I got an 8 oz almond milk latte for $6, which id say is the average price for solid coffee in portland. The indoor area is clean, bright, and has lots of plants! I love catching up with friends here. Highly reccomend :)

Yelp
1. Cool location in sba town 2. Open modern airy. Big garage doors open up to the outside wirh plenty for seating at the wooden bar outside 3 food. - look at those pastries 4. Mocha made with high end chocolate. - not too sweet. More European style. Ans no milk in it so safe for lactose intolerant and dairy free folks 5. Only criticism is staff taking order keep putting his ah de on the top of the cup - not clean. He is ah slug. Money cash register etc and then touching your cup rim. I did mention it as a teaching moment but felt awkward in doing so. Hopefully is sorted for your visit. I would go again but ask for Fresh cup if happens again

Yelp
It's a lovely summer day , they have great space to sit outside - the staff are very friendly and will painstakingly explain all their out of the ordinary lattes The cappuccino is exceptional From the moment I took my first sip, I was overwhelmed by the rich aroma and velvety smoothness of the drink A perfectly balanced combination of espresso, steamed milk, and frothy foam was a work of art in itself Ok I might gotten a little carried away but ya feel me

Yelp
Phenomenal café! I loved the vast selections the café offers. Quiet place to study, and distress. Spent a few hours organizing my Spring and Summer schedule. I assure you will feel comfortable and content. Thank you

Yelp
Stumbled into Good Coffee for an afternoon pick me up. I was drawn to the smoked fig latte with allspice with oat milk. The coffee was smooth, and I could taste the smokiness. Unfortunately, I didn't get the fig flavor. It was a very good latte though.

Yelp
Good Coffee indeed. I came here after brunch in the area after seeing everyone walking around with coffee cups and I am so glad I followed the crowd here. It's located in a communal working space building where all restaurants are connected, but the space itself is quite small. Cute space but worth just chilling outside with a larger group. I came purely for a caffeine fix and I was going to get my usual latte but when looking at their menu I saw they had a hojicha vanilla latte and knew I had to get it. I got introduced to hojicha in japan and it was definitely bitter at first but I was intrigued on how Good Coffee would make it especially with the vanilla. Needless to say it was a wonderful drink which I would come back here to get again. For $6 it is on the pricier side but I would say that is what coffee is nowadays. Worth the shot to try it if you want something that you don't see often on menus!

Yelp
quick counter service. upscale modern interior. nice area - lots of shopping & other food places. excellent coffee.

Yelp
I'd say something like "Good Coffee is as good as it gets" because the coffee and baked goods are top notch and it's a good place to sit and work, except the wifi seemed to be out of order (for me, at least). But I would definitely return and recommend this!

Yelp
Good Coffee is definitely one of my favorites in Portland. Chic and modern with outdoor and indoor seating, this is the perfect place for a chill afternoon or a coffee run in the midst of errands. Good Coffee always has seasonal drinks that are the ultimate *chef's kiss* - ranging from coffee to tea, you can't go wrong with anything. Their coffee is smooth and strong, and their specialty lattes are not too sweet - yet flavorful enough without it being just an ambiguous "sweet flavor". I got their horchata latte with oatmilk, and it was just comfort. The vanilla and cinnamon complemented each other so well and each time I took a sip, I just said "wow", and "oh wow", it's was unique, different, yet it worked. The staff was friendly and the cashier took the time to explain the menu to my out-of-town friends and explain their drinks and recommendations. While it may not be the cheapest cup of jo in town, it is worth it!!

Becky Y.

Yelp
I think Good Coffee was the best coffee I had in Portland. The horchata latte was my go to. I don't know if it really tasted like horchata, but it was still really good. If I lived in Portland, I probably would have tried their other coffees as well. They had some really interesting seasonal drinks that I had not seen anywhere else before. There's a really big garage door type wall that they open up on nice days. I guess a lot of places in Portland have that though. The outdoor area it opens up to is really nice to sit around and drink your coffee at. The employees for the most part were really friendly. They did however charge my card twice for one drink, so that wasn't cool.

Yelp
Great coffee and tea with plenty of outdoor seating where you can be well more than 6 feet away from your closest neighbor. Speedy and friendly service. I originally ordered a Snow Jasmine over ice with almond milk and they promptly told me they were out of tea. The cashier offered other tea options that were similar and upgraded my drink with no charge to one of their seasonal specials, the matcha lavender latte with almond milk. I'm lactose intolerant so I try to avoid whole milk if I can. I believe whole milk is the default option and makes the drink richer. Milk options aside, wow, delicious. I drank it in no time sitting at one of the tables outside. Even with the plethora of coffee and tea options in Portland, I would recommend Good Coffee for their location and outdoor seating options.
google avatar

Dian M.

Yelp
We always enjoy our coffee here when we come in to town. I'd like to try the seasonal specialties. They're well balanced and not too sweet!
google avatar

Bre K.

Yelp
Coffee was just ok. I wouldn't come back due to the service. The barista girls were not friendly.

Yelp
My husband and I went here on a trip through Portland as we were looking at places that served oat milk and had unique offerings. I got the smoked dog oat milk latte and he got the pumpkin spice oat milk latte. With tip it was $15.50. My husbands was really strong flavored with the pumpkin, which was nice. No mistaking it for just a sweetened latte! My latte was good, but I really couldn't taste any smoke or fig, just more like a sweetened latte. It was a big disappointing because I was really interested in tasting fig in a latte. Nevertheless, the latte was good so I would be back. All the indoor seating was closed off which was a bit of a bummer. Plus, they serve oatly barista which is by far the most superior for lattes so that was a big plus!
google avatar

Therese A.

Yelp
The name says it all! Good coffee, good location, good service, good and safe seating options! And bonus for good merchandise - perfect for gifting or just for yourself! My fav coffee to order is a latte, extra hot with soy or oat milk. Good Coffee makes it smooth and satisfying to sip on while catching up with a friend. I don't mind indulging in a pastry either while sitting on the outdoor deck. Grab a cup of Joe at Good Coffee and enjoy!

Yelp
I absolutely love this coffee shop. I love how clean it is as well as the outdoor seating. They really have the whole social distance one way in and out down to a science. I absolutely love the matcha lavender latte. I think I bought 2 in one day as I was in town visiting a friend. I loved it so much that I actually bought the match they used to take it back home with me. The baristas are super cool and efficient. I loved the ambience. I will definitely come back every time that I visit Portland. Keep up the good work!.....see what I did there. Xoxo
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
The good coffee is really. Good. Bold, flavorful and deeeelicious. Although they're iffy about dogs being there, if you catch them with the garage door open then your pup can wait in line, otherwise be prepared for them to ask you to leave as dogs aren't allowed. But they tell you nicely, so I still like them :)

Yelp
It was good, but expensive. Had a little trouble finding it, being inside, but it's a pleasant environment and the folks were nice. Coffee and muffin both tasty, but it was expensive

Sharry M.

Yelp
Loved their Horchatta Latte. The barista mentioned it was seasonal and they had a little bit left and I was able to order. Will try other lattes in the future.

Yelp
Solid coffee in a good location. Nice staff. Great indoor and outdoor seating options.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but was left feeling unsatisfied. The atmosphere was light, clean and bright. I ordered a iced americano and a mocha, both were weak. The coffee was watered down with small sizes of brew. I prefer a robust blend not watered down swill. I will not be returning.

Yelp
This coffee shop embodies Portland culture. It's hip and trendy while maintaining a very low-key and comfortable vibe, all whilst the shop faces outward so that you can both people watch and keep up with your work/conversation. The name truly doesn't do the shop justice - it's not just "good" coffee; it's definitely worth stopping by and trying it out. This coffee shop is located in the Alphabet District of Portland. There's only street parking, but because it's not too crowded - parking isn't that hard to find. I was pretty amazed to see the openness of the coffee shop as coffee sippers slowly drank their coffee while they got a nice tan from the sun. But walking into the shop, I was even more blown away by the super cute, very aesthetic, incredibly eye-pleasing décor. Shrubbery hanging from the pipes, stacks of coffee piled on top of one another, geometric tiles, and a very openness that gives the customer (or me, at least) a sense of comfort and security. There wasn't a big sign that designated the cash register, but one of the baristas pulled up the menu and spent quite awhile explaining the differences/specials before making the drink and ringing us up. It felt like a bar experience - but with coffee. Their menu is pretty intricate, with not just coffee, but teas and seasonal items as well. We just ordered a cappuccino ($4), which came with the ever so-welcomed latte art on top. I have to admit, I normally don't order cappuccinos, but this was really nice. Smooth, not too sweet but not too bitter, and just really made the stomach feel happy and warm upon drinking each sip. After our failed boba attempt at a shop nearby, taking a trip to Good Coffee really made up for it. I kind of wish I ordered a latte as well, but we had eaten so much that day... I also love the cleanliness of the building that the coffee shop is apart of. So if all the seats in the patio or inside the shop are taken, you can find additional seats inside the building. And the restrooms are so clean! tl;dr - Highly recommend coming to Good Coffee if you're in search of a "good" coffee shop. Really think this place will exceed your expectations. Barista was super nice and there was a calm and welcoming vibe that just made me feel happy. The cappuccino was really good, but I probably would order a latte.

Yelp
This is our first time here. Great experience so far. The Matcha is very delicate and lovely. My husband has a coffee and he said the same thing about the coffee. We will definitely come back!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Good location. Good coffee. Good people. Got my usual vanilla latte to go. It was flavored just right. The latte art was perfect. The baristas were friendly. Love the location and the little patio in front.
google avatar

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my coffee here, which was a mulberry oatmilk latte! My husband ordered a horchata latte, which was spectacular too. In normal times, this place looks modern and cute to hangout and get work done, or catch up with a friend. Right now though, they only allow outdoor and socially distanced dining on their patio. Obviously not their fault, but hopefully things will normalize soon. Great, fast service.
google avatar

Bryce W.

Yelp
I really like the layout of the place and features it has. The coffee was really good (go figure). Nice friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be going back when in Portland again
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in Portland! I consistently get my beans for my home pour overs from here. They also will grind out a bag of whole beans for my pour overs. Parking can get a little tough here, but I usually go when they first open so parking is do-able (before it costs money!) and no crowds to fight. The vanilla latte is a top favorite of my partner.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Best latte I've had in a very long time! The coffee wasn't burnt, flavor is perfect and they have oatmilk!!! Also, the gluten free, chocolate chip, banana muffin was perfect! Nice work, guys!
google avatar

Takako S.

Yelp
My favorite new spot. Meet with friends, getting on the go coffee or get some works done. Cozy space or outdoor chairs if the weather is nice. Order to brew coffee and homemade granola with choice of your milk, get your day going.
google avatar

Andie B.

Yelp
Finally stopped by Good Coffee after a number of people recommended it! Overall, I was pretty happy with it! I got their smoked cardamom assam latte, which was super lovely. The spices suited the coffee really well and the flavours were balanced. I also adore the space they have at their Slabtown location. Super beautiful as well as loads of outdoor seating!

Reviewer E.

Yelp
They have a big difference of attitude. The gentlemen before me was welcomed with a gigantic smile and a chitchat of 5 min before his order. Then the barista, while working on his order, yelled at me asking what I want in a rush to get it done. I did not feel welcomed here as a foreigner with an accent. White Americans may be welcomed though.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
So glad they're in the area now. One of the best coffee shops in Portland. They also roast their own bean now. Their shops in SE are great too. This one is the most spacious. Atmosphere is minimalist and attractive. It's in a nice building with extra seats if you need to have a meeting and the coffee shop is buzzing too much.
google avatar

Yelp
Good coffee does a good job!! Tried: Marionberry Cacao Latte - Marionberry was subtle and I liked the freshness and fruitiness it brought to the chocolate. Maple and Smoked Orange Latte - the cinnamon really complemented the different flavors. Would definitely come back. Love that their lattes have really interesting flavors and you can tell the sauces and simple syrups are unique and made specifically for the store and their seasonal flavors.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Pros: coffee was good, nice people, cool vibe inside. Cons: a 16oz iced caramel latte is $7 add the tip and you're looking at $8 Overall, I liked the flavor of the iced latte. Not overly sweet (looking at you Dutch bros) but a nice balance. The espresso taste still came through, but wasn't harsh. I just can't justify $8. I'm not sure if the prices were increased due to covid? Or if this is just how it is.
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
A cool place that's kinda hidden in a way if you don't pay close attention to it. Its smoking the newer development (Carson) that is going in the area. The inside of this place may look kind of small, but when you go out of the side doors, there are additional seating. I ordered the Iced Song Red tea and my friend got her matcha latte. My tea was pretty good and his matcha was also good. The service here is pretty efficient and friendly. I led that they had some outside chairs to sit and enjoy the weather and scenery.
google avatar

Rae M.

Yelp
The coffee is amazing, the non-coffee drinks are also amazing... But these baristas are really what makes Good Coffee the best! Portland has coffee shops literally everywhere, and it takes a lot to stand out. My partner and I have been going here nearly everyday since moving to this neighborhood because the baristas here are so personable, warm, and welcoming. Honestly, whatever you order is going to be great, but take some time to chat up a barista here-- they make my day every time I come in. Shout out to Casey, Liz, Liana, Seth, and all the other folks behind that bar working hard. I adore you all!
google avatar

Esther T.

Yelp
I came here after finding out they have a matcha lavender latte! What could go wrong with matcha and lavender combined? The 16 oz was $6 - it was creamy and delicious! You can choose oat or soy milk for an extra 0.75!
google avatar

Yelp
Hubby and I were in the neighborhood waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant when we stumbled upon this coffee place. The coffee really did live up to its name and more. Located in Slabtown in the NW part of Portland near New Seasons Market. This coffee shop has a beautiful space with tall ceilings, marble counters, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. When weather permits, they open up the "garage door" which makes the space open and airy. Hubby and I ordered: - Maple & Smoked Orange Latte - Matcha Lavender Latte Both were excellent, but my favorite was the Maple & Smoked Orange Latte. It was so flavorful, and you can still taste the espresso amongst all the maple and smoked orange. Service was excellent. We were greeted warmly upon walking in and acknowledged with a goodbye as we were leaving. Too bad this place isn't close to home or I'd be here every day!

Francisco A.

Yelp
Two thumbs up for Stephanie and Giselle this Sunday! Two vibrant individuals with incredible latte making skills ! Woooo thank you both for making my day
google avatar

Quinn A.

Yelp
So far, so awesome! I've been here twice, both times with friends who love coffee. We all agree, they've got a good brew going on here. Today I had the drink that must be mocked: an oat-milk matcha lavender latte. It just sounds like something in an ironic skit, doesn't it? My bestie said, is there even coffee in that? Well eat it, haters, because this drink was one of the best I've ever had!! Green and foamy, sweet but not cloying, delicious in every sip. I tipped the glass and waited for the last bits to dribble out. Hubby had a nice cup of coffee today, in a comfortable mug outside on the patio with our dog. He also had the marionberry scone, which was pretty good. The three of us are all over the place when it comes to coffee and milk and drinks, but we all agree, Good is great!
google avatar

Matt E.

Yelp
I love Good Coffee. As I've lived in different areas of town, I've frequented both their SE Division and SE 12th Street locations. The coffee has always been more fantastic than good, and the people and the vibes are pretty great as well. All of that continues at their new location in Slabtown, and they've managed to improve on the original by building a MUCH larger shop, making it that much easier to actually find a place to sit. Great espresso drinks and cold brew. They always have a few interesting specialty coffee cocktails available. Their baked goods are tasty. The people of Slabtown are lucky to have an outpost of Good Coffee.
google avatar

Timothy H.

Yelp
Pros: Unique coffees (e.g. blackberry walnut and matcha lavender) Friendly service Cute decor Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating Cons: Coffee itself is mediocre, and the flavor gimmicks did not work for me Not impressed by the taste of the espresso or the texture of the steamed milk Recs: N/A
google avatar

Tee L.

Yelp
First place we went to our first morning after moving across the country & I have to say it's a great representation of how friendly and nice OR residents are! They made use feel welcome in a world where we feel unwelcome a lot! The coffee was amazing! My husband got a black coffee and I got a latte, which was soo delicious!!
google avatar

Jacob M.

Yelp
I think the coffee is good just as the name says. The service is ok they aren't as friendly as Dutch bros. It's a little more stuck up, classy, and pricey. Don't dare sit in the lobby that's connected to the coffee shop. There is open seating but maintenance in the building told me something about not wearing my mask while sitting and drinking coffee. He told me to just lower my mask when taking a sip. There was no one in the lobby but me so I didn't see a problem until he walked up on me. I won't go back to good coffee after my experience with the maintenance in their building! No thanks. I'm human, treat me like one!
