"New owners have taken over the former Good Day Donuts, with an equally sunny name that delivers on its promise. All the desserts at the small counter spot are simple but satisfying. We’re talking flaky maple bars, croffles with delicate strawberry frosting, excellent mochi, and old-fashioneds begging for a little coffee dip. There are lots of vegan varieties, too, which have such an airy texture that it’s hard to tell them apart from the udder-based options. Just pick out a mixed dozen at random and leave happy. "We have this White Center shop to thank for one of our favorite donuts of all time: the sea salt glazed. It is what it sounds like. But it's not just this shining sweet-savory hybrid that keeps us coming back. It’s also the selection of wackier donuts—like a cheesy apple fritter, Trix cereal donut, or lemon cake with Golden Oreos. They also have a full vegan selection available Thursday-Sunday. Yes, there will be plenty of sticky fingers from the sugar-forward selection of cinnamon twists, glazed doughnuts, apple fritters, maple bars, and just about anything else that you can put sprinkles on. But Good Day has a savory side as well. The meatball sub comes loaded with beef and pork meatballs dripping in red sauce and blanketed with mozzarella, and the bacon, egg, and cheese, made with a banh mi bun from An Xuyen Bakery, is a hearty mouthful. "Chances are, you’re at this incredible White Center donut shop for donuts. The breakfast sandwich, however, is another reason to line up outside before they open. It comes with either chopped bacon or sausage mixed into cheesy soft scrambled eggs, all packed into a pillowy baguette. The crispy pieces of meat hidden inside the creamy eggs add a salty snap to every bite, and we can't stop thinking about how well the bread soaks up the filling.
