Love this spot! Got two drinks based on the staff’s recommendation and were really happy with them. The PBJ latte and strawberry matcha were delicious. There’s some seating inside where you can enjoy your drinks at.

Immediately upon arrival, I was captivated by the delightful atmosphere and aesthetic of this establishment. Its unique character truly enticed me to enter. I was hoping to purchase a refreshing beverage, and I was successful! I ordered the Cherry Limeade. It was exceptionally fresh and delicious, receiving a perfect 10/10 rating from me! It even included a cherry and dried fruit, which was a lovely touch. I definitely plan to try their coffee on my next visit.

Super cute spot to work or catch up. The benches could maybe have a cushion option for comfort but aesthetically it’s a very pleasant cafe. I had the matcha strawberry latte and it was very good, kinda like a dessert. I was told it would be rich so I was expecting it but it’s definitely sweet. My boyfriend had the yuzu latte and found it a bit tart/bitter. Perhaps it needed tonic to level out the yuzu and coffee flavors. I also noticed everybody was give a plastic cup. I guess it’s pretty common nowadays but if you’re dining in the plastic waste seems unnecessary. Plus I’m sure they’d make cute mugs/merch.

Even though we have some other solid coffee shops in the area, I've been waiting 13 years to feel like I had a true community coffee shop. This is it. Outstanding coffee. Super friendly owner and good baristas. AND, most important, they didn't forget that this neighborhood is not yet fully overrun with wealthy peeps. Some of my neighbors have been living in their houses for well over 50 years. They've priced the coffee more fairly, hoping everyone will feel welcome, which is amazing. GO

Good Friend is really cute with both indoor & outdoor seating. I had their drip & yuzu cold coffee and they were both delicious. Baristas were so sweet + helpful!

Love this place! I wish we had one in Inglewood, custom service is wonderful, everyone is super friendly. Anytime I’m in their area, I always stop by for the pbj latte! Parking is a bit hard to find on the street as this is more of a local favorites spot, they also have a parking lot in the back a bit tricky to find but definitely worth swinging by.

As soon as we walked in, we fell in love with everything in there.💙 Before I talk about the drinks, let me just say that how lovely their space is. The color variation: blue, red and overall woody tone combines well together. Their merchandises are adorable too(wanted to get the mug so bad). The drinks, came out pretty fast and were tasty👅. We got iced vanilla, june gloom, sweet matcha, and americano. The sweetest one was the matcha and june gloom had a strong tea taste. Vanilla latte had a good amount of sweetness! You can’t open a coffee shop if your americano sucks, you know what I mean😉. Probably will get matcha next time cuz it was so good!

I got the matcha latte here and it was pretty good. I believe they use Rocky's matcha which is a pretty smooth one. No grassy taste or anything but just smooth. Parking is very difficult cause there isn't a lot so you will have to find street parking. I can't wait to come back to try their coffee next time!

The matcha latte was good, though a bit on the lighter side. That said, their pastries were a standout! The staff were super sweet, and the space had a minimalist yet welcoming vibe. ENJOY! Go early - and you'll get an easy metered spot, otherwise parking is awful.

Every sip. Every morning. Is a memory. Without further sway let's begin this review. Good Friend Coffee (est 2024) is cute corner coffee on Virgil ave in East Hollywood LA. It offers mostly espresso-based drinks like Americanos, lattes, cappuccinos, drip coffee and iced coffee. Its aesthetic interior design of white and blue color scheme was visually attractive and pleasing. Moreover, it's very spacious with plenty of cute lil coffee tables and chairs. I like this cafe's neat and organized appearance. I came here early morning to grab some coffee. I was promptly and warmly greeted by a male staff. I perused their glass covered menu and I ordered a hot latte (8oz). It was simply okay and the coffee cup size was extremely small that doesn't equate with the expensive price. Anyway, this cafe has a nice and relaxing atmosphere. They sell coffee bags, mugs, merch and pastries. Prices seem on the high end for commoners like myself. Finding street metered parking this early on a weekend was easy. However, on weekdays parking situation in this area is a challenge. Staff were okay and service was on point. Collectively, this is a fine modern hip coffee shop. Overall, I had a good experience and latte. I'd come back to try other drinks. I therefore, recommend this Good Friend Coffee shop.

We checked out Good Friend coffee as our starting point for an early neighborhood walk. I ordered the vanilla latte and love the logo and sign. There were people studying and brought their dogs. The wait was not too long and the ambiance was chill.

Went with a friend that lives walking distance to this place. Parking on the street seemed like it may be a hassle, or maybe just a short walk away if you find parking nearby. There was some construction happening in the area the day we went so maybe that also contributed to the parking hassle. But once we arrived, the people working there were friendly and upbeat. The place is clean and bright. They have some tables inside, people were working on laptops. It wasn't super busy where we couldn't find a table to sit, but luckily someone was leaving so we grabbed their table. They have a pretty straightforward coffee menu and a limited pastry menu as well. They have a seasonal drinks menu, which is always fun to look through. I was surprised that they still had the pumpkin matcha, so of course I went with that (iced). I originally wanted to try the PB latte, but I'll be back for that. The pumpkin matcha latte was really good, creamy, I loved the taste of pumpkin but still got the taste of the matcha. It was a good balance. I like that the place is nearby my friends house, so we'll definitely add this to our rotation of coffee date places.

I was in the area, so it was perfect to revisit. The service has improved. I got the right drink I ordered, and it showed up pretty quickly. I had their espresso tonic this time, and it was delicious! The dehydrated orange slice added a pleasant aroma. I was able to do some remote work which was nice and I enjoyed my 2nd visit.

Was a pleasure to stop by Good Friend Coffee as the staff are exceptional. The young lady who took my order was so warm and welcoming! That's exactly what I need in the morning so shoutout to her (and them). The space itself is light and cozy. There are...so many hipsters in the space, but it was a Saturday morning so. I just did not expect that crowd which isn't bad or good...it was just a surprise lol. I ordered the PB&J Latte which I enjoyed! It gave me the mouthfeel that peanut butter gives after you eat it. The drink had the fruity notes of the Jam and was sweetened well. However, I would say it tasted like "Peanut Butter" and "Jelly" as two separate things and not necessarily a "PB&J". Was good and would try again just to see aha. A good place to grab a coffee and hang out!

Arriving there right before noon on a Sunday, left me with a nearly empty pastry case. Yep, literally 3 things left there, and I had to sadly see the customer in front of me ordered the one I wanted. Prolly not surprising knowing the place was relatively new and people wanna give it a try. Besides, the venue was indeed so cozy with gigantic open windows. Somehow it reminded me of La La Land cafe, but made it blue #IYKYK. I wasn't adventurous enough to give a go on PBJ latte, but I did go for one of their most fave, the Vanilla Latte. It was super good morning caffeine dose for me as the coffee was strong and the vanilla syrup just came at perfect ratio. Learning my lesson and would definitely come earlier next time!

Very cute coffee shop to hang out or do work! I'm always on the look out for coffee shops to do work at. This was a great place to work as there is free wifi, lots of tables, and honestly good music. They have very unique drinks. I tried their June Gloom and loved the earl grey flavor. The baristas are very friendly as well. I will definitely be back!

Cute coffee shop, not the best matcha, friendly staff. It was kinda grainy, bitter and way too hot--beautiful latte art though. Perhaps the coffee and pastries are good? Many places to try so can't guarantee I will be back in the area to give it a second chance.

This is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee spots in LA. I absolutely loved the vibe of this place. All of the little details- from the Sonny angels and smiskis to the pops of color- I really loved all of it!! As for the drinks- the matcha had a subtle nutty flavor and was not too sweet either. The baristas were super welcoming and I overall really liked the vibe of this place. I would definitely recommend.

Stumbled upon this new coffee shop and immediately loved the vibes inside! Got a pumpkin spice coffee and a donut and the baristas were all so nice - definitely want to come back with my laptop and work from here! Pro tip: they have outlets to charge your laptop

Loved this place! Came early on a Saturday right after opening and found a great parking spot, was greeted by everyone there. The staff is friendly and the baristas as well trained and knowledgeable. The ambiance is cool, super clean and plenty of indoor seating to chill and sip on their coffee/drinks. I ordered one espresso from their single origin from MadLab offering and it was super delicious. Also tried the PBJ latte with oat milk, this one had so much potential. The blueberry syrup was superb, but way too much of it, and not enough peanut butter taste- had there been a better balance of the flavors this would have been at 9.5/10 drink because their other espresso from Dayglow was nicely extracted as well. Overall it was a great first visit and excited to try some of their other menu items

This coffee shop serves great coffee. Whether you want an espresso, pour over or traditional, you need to check out their rich and smooth coffee.

Updating my review: Based upon the owner's response, I'm turned off by the confirmation that the larger sized matcha lattes do not have an equivalent ratio of matcha to milk as the smaller size. If I order a large matcha, I feel like it's normally expected that I would be paying for more matcha and milk, not just for more milk. I should not have to add an additional shot of matcha to make my large matcha taste the same as a small matcha. Another reviewer also said that their latte tasted watered down, so it seems like this is the norm here. Original Review: My friend and I were super excited to try this cafe after seeing it on The Infatuation. The cafe serves Rocky's Matcha, which we both love. We were pretty disappointed. We both tried the matcha lattes with oat milk. The color of the lattes were a nice deep green, but the drinks did not taste like matcha because they were so diluted with milk. I added vanilla syrup to mine and it still tasted like milk. For over $8, I expected to actually taste the matcha. My friend threw her drink out before even drinking half of it. The cashier and baristas were friendly and nice. The interior had sufficient seating when we went on a Sunday afternoon. It's an aesthetic place, but since the drinks aren't good and there's only street parking, we won't be back. We had to circle around the surrounding streets several times before finding a spot. It's near Sqirl and Courage Bagels, so you'll be competing with the bagel and cafe crowds for parking.

tried another new coffee shop in the area. the vanilla latte with cinnamon mixed in is so good. there's a decent amount of seating/a few little tables. metered parking but also street parking nearby.

Met up with someone here today for a quick coffee. It was an easy ordering process and there were some interesting drinks on the menu. I liked the coffee. The pastries are the same ones at all the other shops (delivered daily). The merchandise is well designed if you're into coffee merch. The only thing I noticed that was a little off was that the seating lines the perimeter of the shop and faces inward, so everyone is awkwardly glancing at each other across the room.

So so excited to see this place open! Beautiful space great for working (plenty of outlets and good wifi), chatting with friends, or relaxing. Friendly staff and amazing drinks as well, everything you could ask for! I tried the pb&j latte as well as the matcha tonic which was some of the best matcha I've had in a while. Stop by and welcome them to the neighborhood!

When I walked into the coffee shop, I immediately liked the layout and the overall vibe of the space. Few things that could be improved. They currently have two separate menus for sweet and regular drinks when you go to the online menu if you search it, which can be a bit confusing. It might be more convenient to combine everything into one menu and maybe add the menu to the instagram page they have. I also found the prices to be a bit high--specifically, an iced coffee without any add-ons was $6.02. While I appreciate some of the options they offer, a few adjustments could make one want to make it their to go coffee spot in the community.

Vibes here are perfect! I ordered the Matcha Latte with whole milk and vanilla... The Matcha was extremely smooth and overall delicious . Definitely my new go-to shop for Matcha and coffee!

I stumbled upon this amazing coffee shop by chance, and I'm so glad I did! The vibe is fantastic, and the coffee is top-notch. They even serve drinks in real glass cups when you enjoy your order in-house. The quality of the coffee, the friendly service, and the cleanliness of the shop are all exceptional. I highly recommend visiting Good Friend Coffee--it's definitely worth a stop!

I have been hoping for a coffee shop on Virgil but its an overpriced, hipster coffee spot. It aesthetically pleasing to look at but the coffee wasn't good. I had a vanilla latte and I couldn't finish it. It had a weird taste to it. Not really understanding the hype.

My updated review! I first had a vanilla latte and it wasn't for me. I then tried the PB & J Latte, which was better but if you love peanut butter and jelly + bittersweet drinks you'd like it! I tried the JUNE GLOOM and that was THE DRINK, it's very delicious and a balanced of sweet and bitter! :)

Cute new coffee shop in Virgil Village. A pretty quiet atmosphere good for a chat with a friend or catching up on some reading. Coffee and pastries are good, too.

So excited to see this place open up in the neighborhood!! The staff was pleasant and the atmosphere is really nice and relaxed inside, mostly people reading or working. I've visited a few times now and ordered an iced vanilla latte, an iced americano, a hot latte and an iced vanilla matcha with oat milk. I loved my hot latte, it had a fruity sweetness to it so you know the beans they use are qualityyyyyy. The matcha here is perfect, it has a great toasty earthy flavor. One thing I do have to knock them for is how they are building iced drinks with syrups. For both my iced latte and iced matcha, the vanilla syrup was all collected at the bottom, rather than it being already mixed in with the shot. I personally just prefer to not have to stir my drink, especially when there aren't any aesthetics involved like their PB & J latte. But I'll definitely be becoming a regular here!!

awesome unique drink selections! love when cafes have their own unique menu. the renowned pb&j latte did not disappoint. both flavors in a latte was unusual but really really good, and did not overpower the coffee with sweetness either. the sweet matcha was good too, just a little lacking on the matcha flavor profile. overall great service, cute open seating, and great drinks :)

Beautiful quaint little space with nice windows, pretty good coffee. Only drawback I would say is the music was too loud, it felt more like a night club than a coffee shop.

Incredibly disappointed by the coffee here. They have to be watering down their coffee, because this tastes so incredibly weak, I truly don't know if I've ever purchased something that tasted this much like coffee flavored water. After the first time getting an iced coffee, I decided I had to try it again because they must have accidentally messed up my order. After trying again, it unfortunately still barely tatsed like coffee. Both times I had my friends try to confirm I wasn't just being picky, and they were both shocked at how weak it tasted. Additionally, they charge $6 for just an iced coffee and charge 50 cents if you just want the tiniest splash of oat milk in your coffee (not just to substitute for a milk heavy drink), which is just the cherry on top. EDIT: the owner message me and let me know that charging for the oat milk was a mistake.

Overpriced for a small iced coffee that was filled with way too much ice. I was only able to take a few sips and the blond girl added way too much cream as well. So sad. I won't be coming back.

Coffee, pastries, vibe, and service were amazing. Parking was not. The spinach and cheese pastry was crispy and flavorful. The latte are was also super cutie.

Was super excited to try this place as we are missing more speciality coffee in the neighborhood. However the vibes were not what I was hoping for. The seating was lacking, music choices were not great and the service felt stale. When it comes to the drinks, I have tried the PB+J latte, limeade and the vanilla latte. All of them were sub par. PB+J didn't taste like Peanut Butter and the Jelly flavor was not great either. The limeade was too sweet and tasted like syrup and the vanilla latte was lacking in espresso and tasted artificial. I hope this place can improve. I'm still holding out hope that these are just growing pains.

definitely my go-to favorite spot . yesterday's visit, I ordered june gloom, and to my surprise it was great but i had mentioned to my friend that the j.g tasted too strong to my liking that left an espresso tingly in my mouth to which i questioned if i should have asked and added more syrup as i'm not a strong/espresso enthusiast. unbeknownst that shortly after i had mentioned that, Max, the owner who had heard my statement, had funnily walked to my table to give me a cup of syrup, and that itself was great service followed with "i got you Leira, always hearing the customers out". Let alone the customer service, you can feel the leadership from him, staff members who take the time to talk and greet you, and Max's wife, all in which collectively work great as a team. Today, I ordered an iced matcha with oatmilk, and it was so delicious. i found myself to navigating new drinks, and so far Good Friend Coffee has met my expectations.

THE BEST!! I went to Good Friend to get some work done and had a few drinks and each one was perfect. It was also a great place to sit with lots of seating, outlets, and good music. I tried their signature PB&J latte and it was just the right amount of sweetness to coffee. I am a big iced coffee drinker and normally get it with milk, but the owner let me try it black and it was perfect without any additions at all!! love this new spot and can't wait to go back

I recently just went and ordered their sweet matcha and it was perfect. The staff was so sweet and patience with answering my questions. The perfect environment to sit with friends and do work.Will be coming back!

Good Friend is my new favorite coffee shop! The owner Max is so cool & friendly. The vibes are immaculate and everything on the menu is to die for. Last time I was there I got the PB&J latte, which was FIRE. Could not recommend this place more! Definitely my new go to spot
