Yelp
I was in the area for an appointment and wanted to find a kid-friendly place to grab lunch on the way back home with my toddler. Good Morning Kitchen and Cocktail Bar was only five minutes away and was labeled kid-friendly on Yelp, so I decided to try it out.
We were seated really quickly and the host set up a high chair for my toddler (be aware that they don't have booster seats here). Some first things I noticed were how nice the decor was and how clean it was. The plants, wall art, lighting fixtures, wallpaper, chairs, color scheme, etc. had a modern, boho, mid-century vibe to it. I also loved the look of the vintage-style glassware.
The waitress came to our table promptly to take our order. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and a Butterfly Pea hot tea for myself, and I ordered eggs for my toddler. The food was brought out within a reasonable amount of time, although our server (who was different from the waitress who took our order) was not very friendly.
The breakfast sandwich was pretty good with a nice brioche bun and plenty of eggs. It had a nice buttery flavor, but I think it was way too heavy on the eggs with not enough meat (especially for a $16 sandwich). The house potatoes that came with it were okay; they were a bit dry and there were a lot of burnt pieces, although the seasoning tasted good. I gave my toddler the pieces that weren't too dry/burnt, and he liked those with his eggs. The tea was really fun, as it was color-changing like the waitress had explained to me. However, her description of the flavor was off. She described it as floral whereas it was definitely more of a tart, citrus-heavy tea which I'm not a fan of.
All-in-all, the restaurant looked very nice and I think the interior design, visual appeal, and cleanliness are its strengths. The service and value of the food itself is pretty average. Although it doesn't particularly stand out for me as a favorite, I'd definitely come back with a friend if they wanted to try it out!
