The 8 Best Korean BBQ Restaurants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"K-Town has a ridiculous number of places where you can eat galbi and pork belly—but there aren’t many spots that specialize in the intestinal cuts known as gopchang. If that’s what you’re looking for, head to Gopchang Story. Located on the second floor of a narrow office building, the brick-lined space is noisy and casual, and it tends to stay packed with groups going to town on sizzling platters of meat. You can choose from tongue, heart, entrails, tripe, and both small and large intestine—or you can do the responsible thing, and get a combo." - hannah albertine, neha talreja, bryan kim, kenny yang

The Best Banchan In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Gopchang Story is situated so far on the eastern corner of Koreatown that it actually lives on Fifth Avenue. The meathouse specializes in a type of barbecue called gopchang gui, a hot pot platter of grilled beef intestines, and they serve some of the most luscious cuts of meat you really won’t find elsewhere in the city. Here, the two main banchan are the oblong platter of garlic chives kimchi and a ramekin of soy sauce pickled onions and garlic cloves. They’re incredibly light, bright, and served cold - an excellent pop of contrast to gopchang’s fattiness." - justine lee 6

A guy who speaks Chinese English and Korean is really nice, really good service. And a girl who helps us is really cute and pretty. They’re really good. Highly recommended. The seafood soft tofu soup is freaking amazing. Love here!!!! 🤩🤩🤩 wanna come here again!!!

If you’re craving authentic Korean BBQ and looking for a place that offers both amazing food and a cozy atmosphere, Gopchang Story is the spot to check out. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting vibe that makes you feel right at home. The star of the show here is, of course, the gopchang, which is perfectly seasoned and grilled to a crispy, savory perfection. Whether you’re new to gopchang or a seasoned fan, the way they prepare it will make you appreciate the dish even more. The rich, flavorful meat has the perfect balance of crispiness on the outside and tenderness inside, and it pairs beautifully with their house-made dipping sauces. But the menu doesn't stop there. Banchan(side dishes) are fresh, varied, and a great complement to the main dish. The kimchi is particularly fantastic, tangy and fermented just right. The soju and beer options are excellent, making it easy to enjoy with friends, whether you're there for a casual meal or a night of indulgence. The service is another highlight—attentive and friendly, making sure you have everything you need, and they’ll even help you with grilling the gopchang if you're not sure how to do it perfectly. The portion sizes are generous, so it's definitely a place you can visit with a group and share a hearty meal without breaking the bank. Overall, Gopchang Story is a top-notch spot for Korean BBQ lovers. Great food, great service, and an overall warm and welcoming environment make it a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to dive into authentic Korean flavors with a side of fun!

Love the atmosphere here, great grilling spot to hang with friends. The meats were great and the side dishes were fantastic. Definitely would return.

Google
Food was great. Unfortunately, we didn't have a good time with the service here. The staff were not very attentive. Worst of all, they closed kitchen without checking with us about last order. We wanted to have more food but couldn't.

Google
I’m not usually into gopchang, but this place changed my mind. It was really tasty! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!😝

The atmosphere of this store is very good. The waiter's attitude is very good. A man who can speak Chinese, Korean and English has a very good attitude.

Google
Run here. They have this new AYCE deal with unlimited draft beer. Unbelievable - they don't skimp out on portions and they seriously have the best quality gopchang/makchang in NYC. Sorry Manhattan.. but you don't stand a chance against the Flushing loc

Google
Absolutely worth the hype! Came here for dinner with friends and had an amazing experience. The gopchang (intestines) were perfectly grilled—crispy on the outside, tender and rich inside. The fried rice with egg at the end was the perfect finish.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews like this, but I feel it's necessary to share my experience. On July 18, while dining at this restaurant, a server spilled hot grease directly onto my leg--not just a pop or splash, but enough to cause a serious burn. I'm now left with a permanent scar from the injury. What made the situation worse was the server's response, which was essentially, "It can't be helped--the grease pops," as if this level of harm was somehow expected or acceptable. I contacted the restaurant through the email listed on their website on July 22, giving them the chance to address the incident privately and professionally. To this day, I've received no response at all. It's extremely disappointing to be injured like this and then met with complete silence. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but it now feels like the restaurant is choosing to ignore the situation entirely instead of taking any responsibility or even offering a basic apology. At the very least, I hope they reflect on this and take better care of their customers in the future--both in terms of safety and accountability.

Yelp
We came here few times because they have good intestine menus that other Korean restaurants don't have. Service is good and friendly. It has the Korean cool vibes. Since it has a high ceiling, and the vent is doing pretty good, the air is not smoky and stiff like other bbq restaurants.

Yelp
Food was good. It was a busy day and the service was so so. We waited quite a bit for our food. We wanted all the food to come out at the same time but they would only give us a new dish after we finished the prior dish. We had to ask several times for the fried rice to come out while we had the meat. The music was really loud plus so many people that I could barely hear my friends. It became a bit frustrating by the end. The only time the waiter would come by is when we asked for the bill. They tried to charge us for food (shrimp fried rice) that we ordered but never came. We asked them to bring the shrimp fried rice out but instead they just cancelled the order which was fine because we were very full anyways. I usually come here during lunch when it's more empty and the service is better and ambiance is less distracting. Not sure why this time the service was much worse than before. I usually come here to fulfill my gopchang craving but will try to come during less busy times.

Yelp
Our group came here on a rainy Friday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. This allowed us to order a large variety of dishes (which unfortunately I was too busy celebrating and eating to photograph) that I enjoyed. As others have stated this place specializes in intestines, which makes them the dishes to get. Our group went with the Deluxe Set figuring for the price and listed items we would get plenty of food - wrong about that. I don't recall exactly what was on the list, but I probably tried one of each (tongue, kalbi, pork belly) because there was not much placed on the grill. The items I did try were disappointing and made me wonder why didn't we just go to an AYCE KBBQ spot instead. The other dishes made up for it. I am not a huge fan of intestines, but when in Rome... I will eat and enjoy my fair share. I enjoyed the grilled Combo Gui - preferring the small intestines to the large and entrails. I suggested and the group was in agreement on the octopus, intestine and shrimp casserole. I was a huge fan of this dish - the not too spicy, smoky flavorful tomato-ey broth tied all the flavors together plenty of the main ingredients were throughout this dish. We ordered a fried rice dish with 3 servings to share. This is made tableside on a skillet and served with a ring of egg. It was a good amount and helped round out the meal. The servers were a bit MIA at times, but we managed to get all we needed. I also appreciated they do the cooking tableside. Seeing a 20% tip automatically added to the bill made us understand the service hiccups better. There was a 10% cash discount (and pro tip: there is a non-sketchy looking atm inside that did not charge a fee). I probably would have been at 3 stars considering the deluxe set disappointment, but I have an appreciation for a place that does intestines well because they can be tricky (and probably dangerous if done the wrong way) and that casserole is something I would return for.. the regular cuts of meats were unimpressive, but, all and all, cool story bro!

Yelp
A little busy on a rainy Friday night, but no wait for a table of 5. Although the space is pretty big, with some upstairs seating, the tables are a little tightly spaced. We could not sit at one of the seats (it was a table of 6), because there was someone sitting at the table behind it. They have a QR code on the table for ordering, but we preferred to order off the paper menu. That said, the service is not very attentive, as we had to flag down someone every time we needed something. There was a good variety of the banchan. We finished most of them, and requested another bowl of the macaroni salad. The Steamed Egg was fluffy and tasty. We quickly finished this, and ordered a second one. The Deluxe Set was not really worth it, as the meats besides the intestine were nothing special. It came with a few pieces of each (beef tongue, kalbi and pork belly), some asparagus, onions and a decent portion of the intestine, as well as onions. I do wish the onions were grilled. We ended up putting them on the grill with our order of Assorted Gui. You're better off just ordering that. The Assorted Gui (for 2) was a an obvious choice to get, since they are known for their intestines. It also came with a couple rice cakes, which were tasty once grilled. A must get! The Fried Rice and Fish Roe had to be ordered after we finished our intestines. We got a portion of 3, which was the right amount for us. It had a bit of a kick. The Octopus, Intestine & Shrimp Casserole was flavorful with lots of octopus, intestine and shrimp. It had a good kick to it. I liked the softer texture of the intestine compared to the grilled version. There is a 10% cash discount, but 20% automatic gratuity. There is an ATM, with no fees, inside the restaurant. If you're into intestines, this is the place to go!

Yelp
Hmm...I think this review is based on the preference. While I don't have much experience with intestines, I find the flavor to not be mine. It was a crowded restaurant on a Saturday night and I was extremely excited to meet up with friends and feast. However, I didn't enjoy the food. The intestines were so fatty and oily. The seafood pancake was fine, but not great. Overall, nothing was memorable. The service was great though.

Yelp
I come here like once a week, and it's my favorite place to eat in Flushing. This location is infinitely more spacious than the one in K-Town, and it's less busy. I always go for around 3 servings for 2 people, and I opt for the marinated large intestine and unmarinated entrails. I am not fond of the small intestine. I also get the cold noodles, steamed egg, and some soju! It's usually around $40-$80 per person after tip (depending on the add ons). My one HUGE complaint as a frequent customer, however, is with the ordering app they use. I've had at least 4 issues on different visits where I've received the wrong order. The app often doesn't clear when you sit down at a new table, and it'll add residual orders (presumably from old carts). I've been upset at the staff here for pushing the blame on me (multiple occasions btw) when from my end, the order I submitted was correct. I've gotten to the point of taking a screenshot of the order I've submitted every time to avoid more conflicts with them. It's a shame because this is my favorite place to eat, and I'm not a confrontational person at all. Food here is a 5/5! There's a cash discount! SS your order!

Yelp
Gopchang Story's rise in the ultra competitive Korean dining scene started in a few years ago, just a few months shy of the pandemic. Fast forward a number of years and they've done well, outpacing their Manhattan location (#1) in terms of quality and service. I'm a sucker for a place that stays open late (#2) and offers a fun ambiance. The interior is modern, spacious, and very group friendly. I love the souped up, overhead ventilation fans and the additional second level. I've seen dates, families, and massive groups all thrive while feasting and drinking. The food presentation is stellar. The cuts of fatty beef, the hearty jungol style casseroles, to their individual noodle bowls / rice platters are always perfectly laid out and make for a good food photo-op. From the cube steak to the flower pork belly, I'm a fan of most of their meat cuts. The beef brisket casserole earns top honors for me, but the octopus, intestine, and shrimp hot pot is also an excellent choice. In fact, for intestine lovers, this is the place to be. I think some other honorable mentions would be their boochoo gochoo pancake and the beef brisket pancake. I do think the beef tartare is wonderfully seasoned and the gopgamchi (aka fried intestine with garlic, potato, and cheese) is a surprising hit. For rice lovers, I am always partial to the tripe and intestine fried rice, which is also very tasty. I haven't had any major issues with the service and the pricing is average for the area. I do think this is one of the better a la carte Korean BBQ experiences in Flushing proper. I am already looking forward to my next (late night) visit. __________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/gopchang-story-bbq-new-york (#2) Open till midnight on most nights, but 2AM on others.

Yelp
Such a cute place inside and thank goodness for the table vents. Food is delicious and the servers are attentive. Would go back to try more of their other items.

Yelp
Came for the intestines and left blown away. I never liked intestines and tried them many places because everyone in my eating circle likes them. I had very low expectations.. but now I love them. We ordered a la carte because we were unsure how we'd feel about the intestines and food. Next time, we are doing AYCE eat for sure. It's that good. The kalbi and corn cheese were also delicious. Can't wait to come extra hungry and DO AYCE next time.

Yelp
This restaurant is A LOT bigger than the one in manhattan and the food portion bigger as well. I went during the weekday, so it wasn't crowded. I personally enjoyed the spaces between each tables and the ventilation being offered for each bbq table. Food was good and they had other variety of dishes available outside of Korean bbq/intestines.

Yelp
Do NOT wear nice clothes here because the smell will stick and you will smell like BBQ all day. If you need to lower your cholesterol levels, you shouldn't even be looking at this place. The intestines just become greasier as it cooks. The restaurant can be quite loud or quiet depending on the time you get there. The wait staff is friendly enough depending on who is with you but you don't have to worry about cooking your food. Well, you're there for the food. The restroom is clean enough and located in the back to the right side. As for parking, depending on the day, you'll either find a spot on Northern Blvd (metered) or you can drive around the block. This is a place my best friend and I visit and she orders for us (I just take pictures for the food porn to send out to friends and post on social media and I eat). You can scan the QR code on the table and take a look at the menu there and order. We get the Large intestine "gui" regular and marinated. The marinated is my favorite and it's full of flavor. You can add on but this is what we get most of the time. For the first time, we tried the Prime Beef rib. They will coat the grill plate with fat and add on the meat and asparagus (or whatever vegetables they have for the day). It was good but I wouldn't be ordering it regularly due to the price for a few pieces of beef. As you're ordering your gui, make sure you order extra rice cake. They will come around and pour out the grease as it continues to cook but you should stop them before they do. When they come out with the grill plate, add all the rice cake in that grease and let it become warm and crispy. When you're finished eating your entrails and rice cake, make sure you order fried rice with cheese and fish roe. One serving was more than enough for the two of us.

Yelp
We tried Calbi and mixed intestines. Beef large intestines are our favorite that we ordered extra!
google avatar

Mandy T.

Yelp
Much larger than the Manhattan location - the place was pretty packed and lively for a weekday night. There is a second floor inside the restaurant (there's a neon sign leading you that points upstairs). I'm not really sure what's upstairs since I didn't see anyone there (I presume it's like a bar or additional seating area). You order via a QR code here and it's pretty straightforward. Prices are a little cheaper than Manhattan too much is a plus! I always get the daechang (large intestine) but the pork belly is solid as well. I like how if you order more than 1 portion of meat, they'll cook the other portion at another table so you don't have to wait very long for your food to cook. Get the fried rice at the end! 1 portion is more than enough for feed 2 people and it's only $5.

Yelp
This is the best place to get gopchang! The combo order is my favorite. The service and ambiance are great too!

Elise L.

Yelp
The food here never seems to disappoint. I find myself coming here every other week. The yukhoe bibimbap is a must try! Everything is order off a QR code. But servers are quick, attentive, super friendly constantly checking on guests. Seating is a bit tight but they space customers apart to the best of their ability. But overall ambiance I'd say is cute for a date night/outing with friends.

Christopher C.

Yelp
Amazing every time I came. Very easy to order and everything came out very fast. Ordered a set for 2, large intestine, and the fried rice. Everything came out very good.
google avatar

Teresa K.

Yelp
I love the service here. Also, there's a lot of options you can choose from. I really enjoyed the large intestines in particular and the steamed egg... a ++.
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
The flushing spot just hits the spot for intestines! We got the platter where it had large and small intestines and we did some appetizers like the beef tartare (really good), cold noodles, corn cheese , tofu stew, and we added the fried rice at the end which definitely filled us up. We also got some terra beer! Service was good here and if there's multiple items to be grilled they also grill it on another grill and bring it to you !
google avatar

Yelp
For Sunday lunch, my family and I ate a feast. We ordered 2 servings of bbq special set which includes thinly sliced prime prime beef basket, prime kalbi and homey comb pork belly. I loved the beef and kalbi. Delicious! Love the sides that come with it. No need to order rice. Just steamed eggs. We also ordered a large marinated large intestine (pig) per birthday boy's request. It was okay, but prefer others. Overall the service was spectacular. We came out full and satisfied.
google avatar

Naixin C.

Yelp
Still love the place wholeheartedly. It's the perfect spot for happy hours and beyond. Who would mind some unctuous intestines and ending the meal with a high note of fried rice?

Yelp
The service is good here and the food is delicious. A good place for enjoying intestines.

Yelp
Recently got to try this Korean bbq place and was definitely not disappointed! It's located right on northern so very convenient to get to and it's a pretty large restaurant with an upbeat atmosphere. When ordering you can do it right on your phone which was convenient. We ordered the small intestines bbq as well as a kimchi pancake for an appetizer. The intestines were really good and I liked that the server helped us cook it. It was a lot of food and definitely left me very full. The kimchi pancake was packed with kimchi flavor and a great appetizer to start the meal off with. After we finished the bbq they also have the option of adding on the fried rice. The place the rice in the center and pour egg on the sides. We were so full at this point but the fried rice was delicious. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
Gopchang story is hands down the best place for grilled intestines. Unfortunately, it's an acquired taste for most of my friends and family so I don't get to dine there often. Been to both locations in Flushing and in K-Town and they are equally good. Pro tip: Leave the gopchang on the grill a little longer to get a nice crisp and crunch.
google avatar

Shawn K.

Yelp
Food is great and reasonable price. Good casual dinner place with soju which can't go wrong.

Yelp
They are famous with beef organ combo bbq, which is the reason we came here for. However, the organs taste so light, especially the intestine. I won't come back for this combo. But the fried rice taste so good !!! The stuff will put the white rice on the pot and then add some Korean spicy sauce , after stirring fry them together, they will put cheese and eggs, it looks good and taste good! $50 per person, overall worthy 4 stars

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Love this place, my go to place for gopchang! Please get the fried rice with roe and cheese after, you won't regret it

Serena L.

Yelp
decent amount for 1 order of large intestine to go. I bought it home, heat it up a little, it was good!

Yelp
One of the best kbbq restaurants in the city, great atmosphere, table set up is spacious and comfortable.
google avatar

Yelp
expensive and small portions not worth it time consuming bottlenecked process waiting for waiters to cook 2 oz or meat for the table

Winnie S.

Yelp
Very good portions and fresh! The service is nice! The food here is really fresh and everything is marinated well!

Yelp
Word on the street is that this is the spot to get your intestine fix. Well my gf and I ventured all the way out from Manhattan to Flushing to meet up with a friend to see for ourselves. We got two orders of the Combo Gui ($30 per order), which came with grilled small and large entrails intestines, as well as a variety of other items such as tripe, beef, and rice cakes. Split between the three of us and it was enough. We had the server do the cooking, which was done thoroughly in front of us. Everything tasted amazing. I favored the larger intestine over the smaller ones because it's fatter, hence tastier. We also got an order of the Haemul Pajeon ($5 per order), which came with a house special sauce. Fair warning, the sauce is spicy. This was also prepared in front of us by the server. Also enjoyable, but may have been too much food at this point. Verdict? Hell yeah, the intestines tasted great. Not travel friendly for the folks out in Manhattan, but it is worth the trip out if you need to get your intestine fix, or just happen to be out in Flushing.

Yelp
Great food and great service! Especially considering we went in on new years eve. Would definitely come back again

Yelp
The food at Gopchang Story is 5/5 delicious! The first time I came to Gopchang Story, I was a bit wary of eating intestines but it's actually very delicious & I ended up liking it a lot to the point that I sometimes crave it. Even other friends who said they don't like intestines said the gopchang/grilled intestine here is very delicious (for those who are worried, it doesn't have that iron-y taste that you usually associate with innards/gizzards). I prefer the Gopchang Story Flushing location to the Manhattan location because it's much more spacious with one big main sitting area as well as an upper level floor that looks like it has more seating as well. I've never had an issue with getting seating at Gopchang's Flushing location and usually just walk in (my neurotic self usually makes reservations but Gopchang is an exception). My recent visit on New Year's Day I was worried it'd be busy so I tried to make a reservation for a party of 5 but the online system only allows for parties of 6. I tried calling to make a reservation for a party of 5 but was also told that if it's a party under 6, we could just walk in. Despite being told that, when we walked in sans reservation, the staff asked us if we had a reservation and looked momentarily confused when I mentioned that they had told me it only applied to parties of 6 and larger. Despite the minor confusion, we were promptly seated once our whole party had arrived. We came at 7:30 pm on a Sunday. The seating setup is a little bit awkward with a party of 5 and the tables are a bit cramped and quite close to other tables. Our table had a setup of two grills, one on each end. When you order you have to order per person portions (the price is per portion so if you get a 2 person portion, you'd double the price). Here is what we ordered: -combo gui (2 people portion): includes assorted grilled small & large intestines, entrails & hearts -large intestines/ daechang gui (2 people portion) Each order comes with 4 rice cakes each as well as like two slices of potato? The server will sprinkle some mysterious delicious powder over it & help you grill it and let you know when it's done. I'm still trying to figure out what the powder they sprinkle on it is, it's so good (please message me if you know what it is haha). My friend particularly enjoyed the large intestines from the first time I brought her to Gopchang Story so we got a separate one to go with the combo gui for everyone to try an assortment. The large intestine is a bit round and squishy but once you grill it until it's crispy, it's really good! The small intestine is also very good, a little bit smaller and kind of tube shaped. It's a bit chewier & I found that my friends seemed to prefer the large intestines over the small due to texture. I personally enjoy all of the combo gui and think it's delicious when dipped with the ssamjang they provide. The hearts and other entrails are also great. They provide a bunch of shredded green onions that I love to eat the meat with. The banchan they bring out in the beginning also include some cold sweet macaroni (macaroni salad I suppose?) and a few other items I can't remember off the top of my head. You can grill the jalapeno peppers & garlic they provide as well. At the end of your meal, you can opt to add a fried rice/bokkeumbap (minus the kimchi) for an additional price. I highly recommend you always end your meal with the kimchi fried rice! You can ask for it after you're done eating everything off the grill or close to the end of your meal (they can put the pieces you're not done with yet into a separate plate). They'll use the delicious oils from the grilled intestines (which can be pretty fatty, the waitress came at some point to drain part of our grill because it was overflowing with oil). They put some rice on the grill which has the oils from the cooked meats and add some gochujang and make an egg cheese moat around it and top it with fish roe. If you're not a fan, you can also opt out of the cheese and fish roe and just have the rice with egg. The fried rice is also done in portions so we told the waiters we wanted a 2 person portion on one grill and another 2 person portion on the other. If we wanted to, we could have asked for a 3 person portion on one of the grills. I believe the rice portion at the end maxes out at the portion you ordered for meat (ie. 1 portion meat will only yield 1 portion rice), likely due to the amount of oil it secretes. But I could be wrong and you can maybe order a large rice portion if you wanted. All in all, the portion we ordered worked for 5 people and satiated the majority of my party (personally I could have eaten more haha). There's a 5% discount if you pay in cash. The service is alright but not outstanding. They were more attentive to turning meat on one grill & friend had to tend more to the other grill. The star here is the food & would love to try more of the menu sometime.

Yelp
If you like intestines this is the place to be! They also have your regular la galbi. They give you a good amount of side dishes. The service is decent but could be better.

Best place to get intestines. Always most ideal and optimal to have a dine-in experience because you can have everything fresh and piping hot. They usually help you grill, but I like leaving the intestines on the pan a bit longer so it crisps up a little more. The large intestines is the best, but the assorted gui is a great option if you like variety. Each serving comes with rice cakes, onions and a cut of a potato. A single is ideal for 1-2 people. The seafood pancake and beef tartare bibimbap are also great options to order too. The sauce that comes with the bibimbap goes so welll altogether and makes the meal so much more fulfilling. Seafood pancake is loaded and well worth it. I know most people love the fried rice here, but I could do without it. I think it's worth trying for the experience. The price of it adds up easily because they charge per serving and per item. The fried rice is made after the meal where they take the oil from the gui and fry the rice on it. Fried rice is most ideal with egg, cheese and roe. Service is good but they can get a little busy sometimes. But for all those people who are willing to try intestines, I highly recommend this place because it's so good.

Yelp
Was in flushing area and I can't stop by that area without getting korean bbq. It was around 4PM and it was us and two other parties which was nice. This place is known for intestines and tripe. I did not know that, but I went ahead and tried the beef intestines and tripe soup which was absolutely delicious with nice heat for a cold day. The server was nice enough to separate them into bowls so we could share. We got the 3 meat set for 90 people. They were on top with refilling our banchan and the meats just melted in my mouth. 1 star was removed for the server going super fast grilling the meats did not give me a chance to finish chewing before going on to the next meat. Also I am used to kimchi being served ALWAYS at a korean restaurant, but they did not give us kimchi banchan until we asked which was odd. Other than that would visit again. The servers were kind and helpful.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious and really amazed by this restaurant. Definitely 5 star customer service and they serve delicious authentic and unique food like large intestine and intestine hotpot. This is the only restaurant that serves intestine that doesn't have the cheap meat smell. Our server was Sion. She made a tremendous improvement on customer service experience for us. It's been at least 7 years coming to this restaurant. She provided above and beyond customer service which was very comparable to previous experiences eating here. We came late, literally few minutes before the last call, and the staffs, specially Sion, were so kind and proactive on alerting us about the time. Food came super fast and it was so delicious. We'll definitely be back again soon.

Yelp
Very much enjoyed my experience at Gopchang Story last week. I came on a Friday evening and it was a little over half full in capacity and we were seated very quickly. The table has a built-in grill and an exhaust pipe that hangs over the grill which sucks the smoke and odors from the food. I did NOT end up leaving the restaurant with clothes that smell like k-bbq, which was nice. As for the food, we got an order of beef and order of small intestine. Both were cooked by the staff and tasted very good. The small intestine was chewy and not too oily. I also liked the variety of banchan, the cheesy corn in particular was excellent. The service was good as well, the waitress came to check on us many times over the course of the meal. The only criticism I would have is that the table could have been a bit bigger because it was really full from all the various plates and dishes, and there was some Tetris style rearranging that had to happen every time we got a new dish on the table. Overall I still enjoyed it and would be back.

Yelp
If you want an evening snack and to chill with your friends, this is the place to go. The vibe is very lively inside with the people and the grilling sound and smell permeating through the air. Be/get comfortable with eating an assortment of innards (large/small intestine, tripe, etc) because that's basically what they're known for. At the end, you can get kimchi fried rice which they cook on the grill in front of you. I went with four people and we got the serving size for 2 with kimchi fried rice. I left full and comfortable. Yelp
Have to say I was really excited to try the food here given all the reviews and pictures. Note I did get the food delivered. I understand that the quality between take-out and dining in can vary but the food was just not worth it for me... I ordered the assorted gui and the portions were definitely underwhelming, most of the meats were piled on top of veggies that filled most of the container. The side dishes were mediocre, the best thing were the sauces. Even the chunk of potato that came with the dish was hard and undercooked, some pieces of meat were oddly bitter. Don't know if I was just unlucky or what, but it felt like a waste of $35 and was a huge disappointment overall.

Yelp
Came in on a Wednesday at 7pm as a party of 2 and there was relatively little wait time. PSA there is no parking except on street which is very hard to get so he aware of that! Sitting down I would say the customer service is decent. In this establishment you order via a QR code phone app so those who aren't tech savvy might be aware of coming here (maybe they can make adjustments for you) The environment is super cute with little smoke stacks on top of your table. The sides came out pretty quick and I personally really like the chive kimchi! The macaroni salad was pretty good too! With the actual menu items! The first item was the steamed egg with masago ($7) it was very fluffy and the eggs added a nice salt! It was pretty standard and kind of small in terms of comparison with other plac4/5 Second the Assorted GUI! ($29.95) It was really good :) the employee helped us mix and good everything so nothing was over cooked. We ordered one serving and it wasn't too big for 2 people. It tastes really good with the ssamjang but I personally prefer the large intestines over the small. If I had to order again I wouldn't order the mix only the large since the small intestine had a STRONG flavor. Then the honey comb pork belly. ($29.95) it was a pretty small serving but okay for two people. Personally I think it's a bit pricey for the amount. It came with bean sprouts and kimchi. Kimchi was aged and sour and I prefer fresh kimchi with my pork belly. Also, they were very thick cuts. 3/5 The beef tartare was the STAR of the show. (18.95) SO FRESH and had a egg mixed in. It had a really good gochujang sauce and the fresh pear topped it off. I would come for this again. 6/5! We also got a soju for ($12.95) and sprite for ($3) All in all, it was $125 for two people including tip and tax.

Yelp
Got seated right away on a Friday night. We ordered just the right amount of food for a party of 3. We ordered the set with the thinly sliced brisket and honeycomb pork belly, the seafood pancake, japchae, corn cheese (it comes with fries), doenjang jjigae and cheese balls which also comes with fries. The Japchae wasn't as great as I expected it to be - it was extremely sticky this time but everything else made up for it. The service was great and I would come back again if I am around the area.
