"Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is preparing to open his first Chicago restaurant — the second U.S. outpost of chain Gordon Ramsay Burger. Ramsay is taking over a space at Ontario and State streets in River North that previously housed Wahlburgers, another celebrity-backed burger chain. Slated to open in late 2021 or early 2022, the 5,000 square-foot restaurant at 2 E. Ontario Street will reportedly seat 120 and include a full bar. Ramsay says he’ll do his utmost to be at the opening — should he be allowed to travel from across the pond as flights are restricted due to the pandemic. The new location will be the third burger outpost for the superstar British chef who is particularly well known for verbally abusing both amateur and professional cooks on his plethora of television shows. The original U.S. location opened under the name Flame Burger in 2012 in Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood Resort and there’s a third restaurant inside iconic London department store Harrods. In Vegas, the Hell’s Kitchen Burger (three-meat burger, asadero cheese, roasted jalapeño peppers, avocado, oven-roasted tomatoes) is ranked among the best burgers in town. Ramsay announced the move Thursday morning on Instagram saying this will be one of the most beautiful burger restaurants in the world. “That’s right, the Windy City is getting my delicious butter-baste burgers that so many have you come to enjoy in Las Vegas,” he says, adding: “I can’t wait to see you in the River North area soon.” Ramsay also promises a special burger exclusively available in Chicago." - Naomi Waxman

I recently had the best burger I’ve ever tasted, and I can’t recommend it enough. The patty was perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. It was topped with fresh ingredients that elevated the whole experience—definitely a burger lover’s dream. What really surprised me was the price; it felt like an incredible deal for the quality of food. The restaurant had a casual, laid-back vibe, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. If you’re craving a delicious burger without breaking the bank, this place is a must-visit in Chicago .!

Started with wings with Nashville sauce...would give these a 5 star. Great sauce and crunchy yet moist. We had the ABC and Hell's Kitchen burgers with regular fries. Both were tasty and well cooked. No complaints but didn't rock our world. Fries were nicely crunchy with fluffy inside. Our server was phenomenal!

Great burger place. Burger patties are soft, tender and juicy. The bun looks so appetizing and soft. It is so soft that the juices from the meat soak it before you reach the last 2 bites of your burger. Hell’s Kitchen burger is must try. Ask for burger of the month. The burgers with caramelized onions was bit on a heavier sided due to oil. Burgers don’t come with side by default; sides need to be ordered separately, that was unexpected. I loved the street corn dip, it was light and delicious. Definitely a must try since the taste is unique. At least we haven’t tasted it anywhere else. Service was great, waiter is knowledgeable with all the burger; proactively asked for meat preference and food allergies. I recommend this place and will visit again.

My burger came well done even though I ordered medium. Still it tasted great. The order took over 30 minutes. The tortillas and salads were good.

Our server was Kevin he was very nice and kind and made sure we were satisfied! Over all the staff was super friendly and we did not wait long at all to get our food. We did think the Nachos could be better as the meat on top felt cold, but the Hamburgers were to die for. I would definitely go back for the burgers.

Service and food taste were excellent. I did have to send my burger back due to it being too rare. I had originally requested my burger to be cooked medium. Overall experience was nice. My server was excellent and has provided me with other food options to experience during my time in Chicago. The atmosphere was clean, modern and inviting.

Tried the chicken wings and the Hell’s Kitchen burger along with a milkshake. Was the best burger and wings I have had in a while and potentially the best in Chicago. The meat is succulent and made just the right way. Everything tastes so good! They also have a good selection of cocktails which though are on the pricier side. The french fries was nothing special, but absolutely nothing wrong with it either. Just that it’s one thing you will be fine skipping / not special here. The ambience is in between that of a restaurant and a fast food place which is perfect for the cuisine served. Highly recommend

the worst vegan burger I have ever eaten and, the worst, for the simplest thing: the bread. The two vegan burgers we ordered were different from the others, a bun that had become completely stale and dry, it broke when you bit into it because it was so dry. And what bothered me even more, I mentioned it to the waiter and he didn't care at all. I asked for ketchup for such an atrocity and they brought me a tiny portion. If I give two stars is because the bartender at the bar where we were before was very friendly
