I entered wanting to try local Munich foods and asked the staff to recommend me with a dish they said was very delicious, but the real taste was disappointing. And, the bartender even sparked his mouth water onto my face - unapologetically because they got too busy😭and when I asked about vegetables, they seemed to got too panicked to understand what vegetable is…the restaurant was so disorganized that I wouldn’t visit again!!!

The food was okay, I expected more from the food taste both meat and fried onions , reasonable price big portion. Good old restaurant style. Good service. It’s not easy to find parking lot. And it’s 10 mins walk from U1. Which is totally fine.

They moved us to a cozy little room that had lots of books. the staff were very nice and the food was great

The food here is top notch! If you’re looking for authentic and flavorful German food, look no place else! I was so happy with the food here, I returned within two days so I could sample the rest of the menu with some of my favourite childhood dishes. The best German food, beautiful interior, decent size outdoor garden. I will be back next time I’m in munich!

We came on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant wasn't too full. We got a spot right away. We ordered the Munich schnitzel, the pork knuckle with potato dumpling and for dessert the kaiserschmarrn. The schnitzel was the best thing we had. It was crispy on the outside and went well with the potatoes. The pork knuckle was dry at some parts and moist at others. The crispy outside was too crunchy for me. For me personally I didn't enjoy the potato dumplings. But the portion are very generous. The dessert was a bit on the sweeter side. You can get it with raisins or without. We got it with as its traditionally served with. It adds that extra chew. It goes well with the apple sauce and the rhubarb sauce. Service was really nice. They checked up on us a few times. They spoke perfect English. Food came out fast. The bathroom was also really clean and had all the feminine hygiene products you would need. There's also magazine available in there. Overall food is not bad but not great either. Atmosphere is great and service is good.

Perfect pre dinner/drink spot before attending Coldplay at Olympia Stadium. Only about 25 min walk to the venue which was great after a delicious meal and a couple of drinks! The service was prompt and the food was delicious - we loved the schnitzel!! Tasty Bavarian cuisine with surprisingly friendly service. I would highly recommend coming here.

The service was great and it may have been traditional German food but wasn't the most appetizing. It was all very heavy with interesting flavors. The steak tasted very much like it was made with wine but not simmered down. One thing that was good was a cheese appetizer with bread but it was the only thing we all agreed on being good

Nice restaurant that seems to be a local favorite. Tables are large and communal, beer is excellent, and food good. There's not that many vegetarian options in German cuisine but I had the dumplings in red sauce and it was the best vegetarian German meal of my trip.

This Bavarian spot is a fun memory of my time in Munich (visiting from Los Angeles). The décor was quaint; the menu was darling. Of course we ordered "The Alps Trio" (sausages and potatoes, served on a tier). They bring a little basket with scrumptious fresh-baked bread and soft pretzels. We tried some great beers. I would highly recommend this place to any travelling friends asking me for dinner recs in Munich.

Very solid food and beer selection. Quick service - even when fairly busy. I also had the sliced pork appetizer which was very good.

This place made me sooo happy. The zucchini schnitzel was so good. The atmosphere is great, old-time and hip. In truth I'd spent a long painful morning touring Dachau; I was staying around the corner from Görreshof and came in hungry and beyond emotionally spent. This comfort food was a little bit of the medicine I needed.

This is one of my favorite German restaurants ever. Whenever I'm in the area, my boyfriend and I always have to stop by. We've had their meat board and pork knuckle and both were incredible. The staff is also really great and attentive and they wear traditional German dirndls and lederhosen all year round. We came after Oktoberfest once and it's just a great late night place that we've shut down time and time again. Always busy but it's worth the wait!

This was recommended to us by a local for trying authentic Bavarian food, and the recommendation couldn't have been more spot on. We started with Prosecco apertif and as an appetizer, had the obezda. I had the Munich schnitzel for my meal. Everything about it was beyond excellent. The atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming. Perhaps my favorite meal of our trip.

To begin with... Beer great...food outstanding...Schnitzel and spaetzle is the real German experience. Comes with nice little side salad. Bit pricy but when you deliver deliciousness it's worth it. Downside: service was PAINFULLY slow. Now the server was busting her rump to clear tables and bring bills to others but it took us 15 minutes to get menus and 20 minutes to get beer! When I tried to flag her down she didn't look at us but offered a grunt of acknowledgement...(thanks). Eventually we ate and we're satisfied but just know if you come in starving you may be tempted to hurt someone if you have low blood sugar problems.

We walked in here after looking up places in the local area. Should be probably listed as Wirtshaus Görreshof. I personally got the Görreshof Pan: Medallions of Pork, beef, turkey in a mushroom cream sauce with crunchy bacon, fresh vegetables, and homemade spaetzle. It was exactly as listed. There were two pieces of each and it was quite delicious. Service was nice as well. Good place. 3.7

I have been here a few times now and must say, the food is excellent. The atmosphere is cosy and very Bavarian and, the service is good and friendly. Four of us went here for lunch and, we all enjoyed it very much. The Kaiserschmarrn we had for dessert was simply amazing and, we all loved it. They have a good few things for vegetarians and, the salad choice was also good. The side salad I had was excellent and made with fresh greens. I really like the organic sausages they have on the menu and, the drink choices are plenty. They serve Augustiner beer here along with wines, schnapps, aperitif and non alcoholic cold and hot drinks. I will definitely come here again. It's good hearty Bavarian food for a reasonable price.

This is a neighborhood place for us and we've been coming here for a few years now, often several times a month. My boyfriend was born and raised in Bavaria, and this is our favorite Bavarian restaurant in Munich. The current management took over a few years ago and from what I've been told made the place much better. There is a standard menu with items such as Nurmberger sausages, Brotzeitteller, and several kinds of Schnitzel. There are also daily menus and seasonal menus in addition. There have been Advents-themed menus, Bavarian wild game menus, etc... They mostly use local meats and produce and the food is prepared to a very high standard. There is a lunch menu with items that rotate throughout the week. They also have very good classic Bavarian breakfast items like Weisswurst. Cozy ambiance and good service. In the summer there's also a back garden with a little cottage that has a table for 4 set up. Sometimes they have special events ranging from live music to book readings or for major football events, viewings. If you're visiting the city and want well-prepared, authentic Bavarian food, skip the tourist traps and come here. Location is easy to get to on the U2 and still quite central. If you come in the evenings, even during the week and are with a group of four or more, a reservation is recommended. It gets quite busy on weekends. Typically most of the really high-end Bavarian places are located in countryside inns, but here they manage to retain the quality of food and ambiance within the city. There's also free wi-fi available, but you have to ask a server for the login and password.

My spouse and I were in München a couple of weeks ago and wanted to eat Bavarian food. We tried to eat a multiple places but ended up being turned away plus everything was overcrowded. We decided to find a restaurant outside of the more touristy areas and found Görreshof! Luckily we made a reservation because a line began to form outside the restaurant. We had a great experience from the moment we walked in to the time we left. We told the server we planned on sharing a meal, he graciously brought us an extra salad which was savory. Everyone was polite, the food was both hearty and delicious, and the atmosphere was comforting. Recommend this place but it's best to make reservations in advance!!

Yes to finally tasting traditional, heavy Bavarian cuisine, I was eager to be as empty as I can prior to our dinner reservations at Görreshof. Upon our reservation was our table shared with another guest of two, and I am okay with that. I loved the Bavarian feel here, how traditional it felt and its dark wooden interiors. All day I had a schnitzel dish in mind, but my taste buds were lingering for something else that I saw in photos that consisted of creamy mushroom reduction. What we had: G Ö R R E S H O F P L A N D L [ 17,90 € ]: A cast pan of steak, turkey, and pork with mushroom cream reduction, tasty spätzle, and the most delicious vegetables I tasted, I think I know what heavy Bavarian cuisine is considered now. As I rarely consume red meat, I was pleasantly surprised by how well this dish was served and I most enjoyed the warm spätzle with the mushroom reduction, and the delicious medley of fresh peas and turnips, and the carrots and broccoli. H A U S G E M A C H T E S P I N A T K N Ö D E L [ 10,50€ ]: I came to a conclusion that German cuisine makes the best vegetarian dumplings; spinach dumplings in tomato and cheese; as I have been craving cheese lately, this dish was an instant winner. Soft, warm and delicately covered in warm cheese and light tomato reduction, we were very satisfied with this light one as we already had a much heavier dish in hand. I certainly want to come here again to try their award winning Schnitzel! Sometimes, I day dream about it to this day that maybe I should have changed my order for the Schnitzel than the Görreshof Plandl, but then other times, I know I will be back again x

While travelling through Europe in June, my girlfriend and I stayed in the Universitate neighbourhood in Munich for a couple nights. Gorreshof was suggested to us by our AirBnB host as a great local restaurant serving up traditional Bavarian fare. A couple other locals also told us that Gorreshof had one of the best schnitzels in Munich. We ordered the roasted pork with potato dumplings and side salad and a veal schnitzel with sauerkraut. The schnitzel was definitely top notch. The veal was perfectly coated and fried to perfection. The homemade batter was full of flavour. It was the critical factor making it one of best schnitzel's either of us have had. Unfortunately, the pork dish was far too salty. We can handle a fair share of sodium, although this was approaching inedible. Prices are mid-range to high... $18 euros/main. Beer is average and on the pricey side. The crowd is a good mixture of young professionals and families. We were likely the only tourists in the place. Service was a bit rushed, but that seems to be the nature of the place.

Our first and best meal in Munich!! Everything was amazing!! The sausages, kraut, beer, etc!! I would come back here in a heartbeat. Staff speaks great English, so no issue with language barrier for English speakers. :)

We came to this restaurant for an early dinner as a tourist. This is a typical Germany restaurant with various traditional dishes. Costumers were a blend of tourist and local. We ordered sausage as a snack and a toasted roster pork as main dish, which was "munichen" according to their recommendation. The beer was good and full of flavour as well. I would recommend this place to tourists, as it is relatively fur from sights so the neighbour hood wasn't too noisy but it was clear that this place was popular to locals. It would be a great place to try if you were looking forward to go Bavarian on diet while visiting.

This was our first dinner in Germany. Not knowing, I made a reservation, although at 1730 that wasn't necessary, it was pretty empty. Only a few other tables were there. The waitress was very sweet, asked us is we spoke English or German, gave us English menus. Hubs ordered the wiener schnitzel and I ordered the kasspatzn, which is basically mac n cheese with crispy onions on top. I don't normally eat meat, but when on vacation, I am more open. The schnitzel was fabulous. The kasspatzn was wonderfully cheesy, but you better like onion, because it's heavy on the onion. If I had know, I would've asked for half the onion, or just gotten something else, but there's a LOT of onion in and on, and I'm not a fan of onion, but even with that, I really liked it, so that's really saying something. Schnitzel came with a small side salad which was very good. Good white wine. If I was in the neighborhood, I would come back for sure!

2 stars due to the fact that something might have gotten lost in translation. However, body language is universal. Was there at 10:30pm and they close at midnight. The place is large and had about 10 patrons. The staff was winding down and ready to close. I asked for the food menu and was told the kitchen was closed. (Understandable) However, I asked for a beer an the lady in the traditional German attire looked as if she had been hit by a ton of bricks. She stutters and said y-y-yes and looks down in disappointment. Now this may be just me but I was the only customer with melanin and the whole experience was reminiscent plain old racism. I do hope I'm wrong. However, that's just how I felt. Note; she was all smiles with co-workers and other customers. Can't help but wonder. Hope this helps fellow customers who have some color in their skin.

In town for Oktoberfest, was looking for something uniquely German. This place checks all the boxes. Very friendly staff, exceptional food-try the Goulash, and all the beers you need to pre- or post-game Oktoberfest. Will be back again!

Delicious food and friendly staff! I had the wienerschnitzel which was great it came with potatoes. We went for lunch and the place was filled with people. The atmosphere was great! My boyfriend had a beer and wienerschnitzel as well. I had the astrian style while he got the Bavarian style wienerschnitzel. The waiter was very friendly and spoke some English, but not necessary since my boyfriend knows German! I would recommended this place to anyone who comes to Munich, Germany!

An excellent meal. We ordered the Munich Schnitzel, which was recommended and it was incredible. Complimented by mustard sauce and potatoes this meal was one of the best in Germany.

Was here with international guests. The apple strudel was delicious. Also the Leberknodelsuppe. The reason for giving only 3 stars is the steak. This was not ok: 50% were fat and cartilages - too much. I will come back hoping that this was an accident.

One of my favorite German restaurants in Munich. Great, friendly service. The schnitzel and Potato salad were great and prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was like an old pub feeling. Would definitely go back if I was in the area.

We ate here right after arriving at night in Munich (our place was right down the road). The staff was very friendly, spoke English well, and made sure to check in on us throughout our meal often to make sure our dining experience was pleasant. They were very accommodating about us sitting at a reserved table so long as we finished prior to the reserved time. Traditional German food. The schnitzel was amongst the best I've tried in Germany. The apple strudel and beer were also great. The price was very reasonable especially considering a similar restaurant with that level of nice dining ambiance and good service would cost 20-30% more in the USA. Overall, our favorite restaurant throughout our 5 days in Germany!

Amazzzinnngg Bavarian food. Perfect dinner spot for our first trip to Munich. Started with the Bavarian potato soup which was absolutely heavenly on a cold winter night. Ordered the München Schnitzel as my main meal and it was wonderful. Had the flavor of horseradish but wasn't spicy. I split it with a friend and it was the perfect amount of food for the two of us. The house salad they brought out with it had an amazing dressing. Finished with the apple strudel which was great and came with really good quality vanilla ice cream that everyone loved. Reasonable prices and a delightful waitress helped explain the whole menu to us. Would go back in a heartbeat

We chose this place based on Yelp recommendations. What a super find. THe waitress was wonderful and the food superb. The Munchner snitzel with roasted potatoes and a Helles beer could not have been better. If Munich had a Cheers bar, this would be it. Lots of locals, families and us. We really enjoyed the entire experience. Yelp community helping me get great restaurants once again.
