The 38 Best Manila Restaurants | Eater

"On the outskirts of the central business district, by the residential side of Makati, Goto Monster serves beef tripe porridge with a twist. The best sellers include goto with bagnet (the Ilocano version of deep-fried pork belly) and chicharon bulaklak (deep-fried pork intestines). All bowls are served with a salted egg and a heaping portion of fried garlic. It bears mentioning that the house-made ice cream pops are just as divine, particularly the leche flan and the ginataang halo-halo flavors. Goto Monster is open 24 hours and best experienced anywhere between midnight and 3 a.m. after a night out in Manila." - Toni Potenciano

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve eaten here — that’s how good it is. Their signature goto is excellent, rich, savory, and piled high with toppings like bagnet, salted egg, and crispy garlic that make every spoonful satisfying. It’s the perfect kind of comfort food whether you’re coming from a long day or late-night out. The atmosphere has a laid-back vibe. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable considering the quality and variety you get.

We recently ate at Goto Monster and the food was a bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it. The servings were generous and everything tasted great, their itlog na pula in lugaw — a combination I couldn’t even imagine at first — but it surprisingly worked! When we asked a staff member to take our photo, they even took a video of the place, which was a nice touch and really showed how good the ambiance is. We went on a Saturday evening, and surprisingly there was available parking and the place wasn’t too crowded. Overall, a solid experience — good food, good vibes, and great service. Would come back!

Comforting Pinoy food, open 24/7. Honestly underrated. I swear, this place has been open for over a decade… and somehow I’ve been roaming Makati like a clueless NPC not knowing it existed. The betrayal. My own stomach deserved better. Solid late-night spot. Generous portions, comforting flavors, and a vibe that feels like a warm hug after a long day (or a long night out, depende sa choices mo). Alfresco dining is super chill, but be warned: it starts getting packed around 1–2AM with people who look like they’ve survived a full pub crawl. What we ordered: • Pork Bagnetsilog - Crispy, well-seasoned, and surprisingly generous. • Talong Chips + Tokwa - My ultimate fave. I kept “trying one more” until suddenly… nothing was left. Zero self-control, and honestly? Worth it. • Chicharon Bulaklak + Tokwa - Dangerously crunchy. Perfect with rice or on its own. • Coffee Nagaraya Sorbetes - Fun idea, but the coffee flavor needs a little more oomph. Still worth a try. • Leche Flan Sorbetes - A sinful dulce de leche situation — sweet tooth approved. Only downside: Parking took 30 mins to 1 hour. Will we be back? Absolutely. Probably sooner than parking trauma can heal. Another late night go-to unlocked. 🔓

Nice chill out place to cure your hangover or just a chat with your friends. Love the open area set up with the greeneries in the area. Their Goto is quite unique with hint of Indian curry spice. I enjoy the bowl of Goto and the tokwa great compliment for the Goto.

First time trying Goto Monster, and we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere! The dining area being inside Comuna gives this Filipino eatery a unique experience. We had beef tripe lugaw, bagnetsilog, fried spring rolls, and the waffle desserts. We didn’t get to take a photo of the lugaw, silog, and spring rolls because we were so hungry that we devoured it immediately. The portioning of the lugaw and silog are huge, while the flavors when you bite the spring rolls are so good! The waffles are a unique experience too, you have to try it from top to bottom in one bite so you’ll get the full experience. We are happy to know we have such place that is very open to elevating the taste and flavor of staple Pinoy food ❤️✨

We went here for food every day! Delicious, high quality food, cooked fresh. The best breakfast in Manila. And their version of Filipino coffee with condensed milk is delicious-would strongly recommend

Google
The food was great, I ordered lugaw with bagnet. Serving size is quite large compared to the goto I have been. The place is cozy. Service is good, the staff are friendly. Its my first time there and I don't usually eat red egg. And I don't know if there is an option for white egg. Maybe a signage would help or asking the customer. We just use public transport going there. But I saw a parking space at the entrance of the vicinity. It's a cash only for payment. Would love to have other payment options.

Google
Goto Monster serves good Pinoy food. A bit pricey but worth the taste, have a many food options to choose from. We liked the different Goto options, specially the Goto Bagnet. They also serve yummy dessert options which we liked. Service is good, well attended customer. Not crowded ( 👍👍 ). The place is well ventilated, no Air-con so bring portable fans if you need more ventilation 😊😊 The place is easy to find, just along the road. Parking… Well… very limited. So you’ll line up waiting on the road to be parked. No vehicle, pasok agad. Well recommended for hungry tummys. Hope this helps 🐾 Happy eating.

Yelp
This place is open 24/7. I always order their Bagnet Lugaw. It is expensive for other lugaw but their price is justified. The lugaw is so good with good consistency. Not watery, just right. And the toppings and sauces to adjust your taste. I recommend this spot

Yelp
It was our last morning in Makati, and we've been wanting to try this place the entire trip. Decided to order in to our hotel, and use Grab. Unfortunately, for some reason, Grab wasn't allowing us to use credit card, but not a problem - we were able to just pay with cash when the driver arrived. We got the mushroom lugaw and the chicken adobo lugaw. They came with salted egg and calamansi. Also got a ginger calamansi tea and a buraka coffee (which was very rich and very strong). Everything was amazing. Perfect end to our stay in Makati.

Yelp
Invited by my brother and sister-in-law to have dinner at Goto Monster. She was able to google and find good reviews about the place. We were surprised to see diners casually eating in the middle of the street. The village gates are closed at night and become the dining area of this restaurant. It was about 8-9pm. Makati area is free from traffic. Arrived at the scene with a crowd of goto lovers. We were able to sit right away. There was a fast turnabout. We ordered gotos' with beef tripe, bagnet and plain lugaw. Served in a mid-size white bowl. I noticed the bowls we ordered have common toppings like tinapa flakes, thinly sliced green onions, chicharon and salted egg. There was so much garnish, it was overwhelming. I could not appreciate the taste of the lugaw. Although it looked gastronomical, I wasn't fond of their Goto. The porridge needed a touch of seasoning and could taste even better if it was served piping hot. The average wait is 10-15 minutes for an order. So that figures why my porridge had gone cold. The pork bagnet was good. Well seasoned and crispy, then again not warm. Also tasted the homemade strawberry popsicle. Sweet and creamy. I highly recommend tasting other flavors. My sister-in-law liked the fresh vegetable roll with bagnet. Comes with 3 spoons of dipping sauce (peanut, pesto and chili garlic). A major hit in Social Media. Not a fan of this Goto place. For balikbayans, worth the photo-op! The food presentation was indeed excellent. Price is reasonable. The exterior and elements of the place looks great with an eclectic theme of red and white. The owner was very informative and accommodating. For the taste, it's a matter of personal preference.

Yelp
The only answer to a gloomy day is Lugaw With Pork Bagnet and Tokwa. We braved the rain just to have the most delicious congee ever. Ordering was quite a breeze as you need to pay at the counter where the menu is clearly displayed. The price may appear steep for some, and the wait time may take up to 15 minutes. But trust me, you would forget everything once the food is served on your table--al fresco. The outlet is good for groups, so solo diners may need to plan their visit during off-peak hours. If it gets full house, you could request to set up your table on the street once the Primo de Rivera gate closes at 10:00pm and, of course, if the weather cooperates. I'll definitely go back soon with a bigger group, and hope they all could accommodate my horde.

Yelp
When I'm feeling down, there are certain foods that I look for to make me feel better. Now that it's the rainy season, I've been craving for comfort food even more. I just need something to warm me up inside and make the cuddle weather more bearable. Goto Monster is one of my go-to comfort food places. :) I found out about this place because it is quite near Carlo's home in Makati. There was one night where I just needed a bowl of arroz caldo; it was 230AM. So, instead of going to the other 24 hour places, Carlo recommended we head to Goto Monster. Yes, it is open 24 hours. If it's your first time to eat here, order the Goto Special. It has salted egg, meat, and tinapa flakes! Served warm and with all the fixings, it really hits the spot. I always order the Bagnet Special. Crunchy Pork with soupy rice is just a perfect combo for me. Also, other than the Goto, they serve different "silog" dishes. A specialty that I have yet to try is the Bibingka Waffle. It is always unavailable when I go! Oh, please do try the Talong Chips and also the Salabat drink. :)

Yelp
I had breakfast at Goto Monster today. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. If you enjoy eating food as the locals do it.. This is an authentic spot to with a good variety of choices. It is open 24 hours a day. It's very small walk up and order store front with two tables right off a busy main road with a lot of cars and foot traffic which is exactly the atmosphere I enjoy when trying local food.. I chose chicken adobe, it was tender and delicious! Please give them a try! You won't regret it Note: If you are a first time traveler to PH or any other country you should never drink tap water or purchase iced drinks.

Yelp
I'm not really a goto eater, but this place has changed my mind! Awesome place that puts an interesting twist on an old favorite! Bagnet and chicken skin in your lugaw? Why not!

Yelp
One of the hipster carinderias in NoMa, that's North of Makati, Goto Monster offers authentically delicious goto (tripe porridge) for the emerging middle class market. If you're feeling up for a challenge, try their Goto Monster Challenge - a huge gargantuan bowl of thick goto porridge that you have to finish in an hour. If you finish it, it's free. If you don't, you pay 750bucks! Aside from regular goto, other gourmet porridge toppings are available, like bagnet, wild mushroom, and the special - a combination of different toppings. I like hanging out here, sometimes alone just to have a quick, quiet meal after work, or with a friend for a chat.

Yelp
Whether you woke up in the middle of the night or just get out from a head windling liquor party, this is the perfect place to recover your senses back again. First, when i woke up at around 2 am in the morning, and the weather is cold due to non stop rain, i want to have a good warm meal. So i decided to go here and had Bagnetsilog. The garnish with vinegar is absolutely spot on, the pork is well cooked and crunchy, the seasoning is superb, the fried rice is bountiful and top it off with egg sunny side up. Second, after a long booze of non stop drinking and ktv with my friends, i suggested to go here and they loved it. I ordered their Bagnet Goto. The serving was many and i really had recovered from booze because i ordered a pinch of their home made chili oil. I will definitely come back again.

Yelp
This is one of those places where you get more bang for your buck. The reinvention of everyday food and drinks is what makes this place amazing. I had bagetsilog which is your usual silog variety and i like that my plate isn't glistening with grease - which was to be expected. The mustasa side salad perfectly complement the sinangag and bagnet. I had champorado special for dessert - this isn't your typical boiled rice with tablea thingy but it mimics the champorado with condensed milk and tuyo. This version is a chocolate waffle, topped with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with melted chocolate, sprinkled with rice crispies and dilis on the side to balance out the umay factor. I would say that this is an ultimate hole-in-the-wall! They are open 24 hours making it the a great after hours pitstop.

Yelp
Oh God this place is amazing! The food is great, the prices are great, and OMG HAVE YOU HAD THAT BIBINGKA WAFFLE A LA MODE?!? I'll say it now, Goto Monster's Bibingka Waffle is Metro Manila's best dessert, and I don't care if you don't agree with me. Everything I have tasted in this joint is fantastic, and that includes the Goto, the Bagnetsilog, and the Bagnet Fresh Spring Rolls. This place deserves five stars, never mind if it's a bit of a hassle to go to, it's cramped, and the seating is limited. Incredible.

Yelp
They are doing a good job here. We had a late breakfast this morning. A good strong black coffee " kapeng barako" with bagnetsilog, fried pork belly with egg and garlic rice. Nice tasty little extras like mini caramel peanut clusters included with the coffee and a fresh flavorful chopped tomato salsa with the breakfast. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her " goto house special", the restaurant's namesake dish. Service was courteous and attentive. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Just went back to the Phil. after 10 years!!!!!! I was looking for a place with good comfort food I used to eat as a boy!!!!! Somebody from the hotel I was staying recommended Goto Monster. I found it with the help of a friend, Mannnnn! the food was fantastic. The place to bring back memories of childhood comfort food!!!! The Goto was superb, but the Bagnetsilog was to die for!!!! The Bibingka Waffle ala mode was a pleasant surprise. The food was creative specially the desserts! I kept coming back during my stay in the Phil. Prices were affordable, but it was the food which left me wanting more!!!!!! Definitely worth the trip! I will definitely come back when I visit the Philippines again!!!!!!
