New Owners Take Over Drago’s Shuttered Il Buco on Robertson in Beverly Hills | Eater LA

"Isaac and Chancey Gamboa are converting the former trattoria at 107 N Robertson Blvd into Gourmando, a new restaurant that will offer a casual breakfast-and-lunch counter (with a small bakery display and a mini-donut shop staffed by pastry chef Betty Park) and a fine-dining dinner service showcasing California seafood, produce, and meats. Evenings will shift to a formal mood with a cocktail menu by Josh Curtis. The sizeable space — 2,250 square feet on the ground floor plus a 630 square-foot mezzanine — will be revamped with new booths and flooring while retaining the main room’s classic chandelier. The Gamboas estimate about three months until opening." - Mona Holmes

Every bite was packed with rich flavors. It was happy hour so we tried the Brussel sprouts, slider, and fish taco and oh my goodness we were pleasantly impressed. Our server Chancy was attentive and kind. We had a great experience at Gourmando. We’re definitely going back. I highly recommend.

We stopped in after a movie and shared an appetizer and steak frites. I am not exaggerating when I say these are the best french fries I’ve ever had! The service was perfect, the ambience was lovely, and the food was delicious. Everything about our dinner was perfect! Highly recommended!

Here’s a NED-style review for Gourmando: --- ✅ What Works Well - Charming café with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. - Delicious sandwiches, salads, and baked goods—perfect for casual meals. - Cozy, artsy vibe with friendly service. - Great coffee and a solid selection of pastries. - Ideal for breakfast, lunch, or a quick coffee break. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Limited seating—can get crowded during peak hours. - Menu leans casual, so not ideal for formal dining. - Some items can be on the pricier side for a café. - No extensive dinner options. --- 🎯 Verdict Gourmando is a beloved spot for fresh, tasty café fare and great coffee—perfect for relaxed, casual dining in a cozy setting. Rating: 4.3 / 5 --- Want top sandwich picks or pastry recommendations?

Review of Gourmando – Beverly Hills I am not the easiest person to please, and my reviews tend to highlight every detail — both the admirable and the imperfect. Having traveled extensively throughout Europe and nearly every state in the United States, very few restaurants manage to surprise me. That said, I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised to discover Gourmando, an establishment nestled in the heart of Beverly Hills. Behind its modest, unassuming exterior lies a place of true culinary artistry. I visited with a close friend, and we were both thoroughly delighted. We began with soup — a course I rarely expect much from. Yet the tomato soup was subtly elegant, perfectly seasoned, and deeply satisfying. The second course, however, was nothing short of extraordinary: perhaps the most delicious chicken I have ever tasted. I tried to discern the spices, but the harmony of flavors was so precise that identifying any single element proved impossible. Gourmando is more than a restaurant — it is a statement in refined cuisine. I wish the team continued success and look forward to returning very soon.

The burger was nice but could use a different bun. The pear salad was ok but nothing to write home about. The fries were really good.

Beautiful Location and very delicious food but it just took too long to get it served at our table. They apologized mentioning that our order was at the end of the list but we noticed that other people that arrived after us were being served before us. Not sure what happened but I must admit that my burger was very delicious.
