New Owners Take Over Drago’s Shuttered Il Buco on Robertson in Beverly Hills | Eater LA

"Isaac and Chancey Gamboa are converting the former trattoria at 107 N Robertson Blvd into Gourmando, a new restaurant that will offer a casual breakfast-and-lunch counter (with a small bakery display and a mini-donut shop staffed by pastry chef Betty Park) and a fine-dining dinner service showcasing California seafood, produce, and meats. Evenings will shift to a formal mood with a cocktail menu by Josh Curtis. The sizeable space — 2,250 square feet on the ground floor plus a 630 square-foot mezzanine — will be revamped with new booths and flooring while retaining the main room’s classic chandelier. The Gamboas estimate about three months until opening." - Mona Holmes

Review of Gourmando – Beverly Hills I am not the easiest person to please, and my reviews tend to highlight every detail — both the admirable and the imperfect. Having traveled extensively throughout Europe and nearly every state in the United States, very few restaurants manage to surprise me. That said, I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised to discover Gourmando, an establishment nestled in the heart of Beverly Hills. Behind its modest, unassuming exterior lies a place of true culinary artistry. I visited with a close friend, and we were both thoroughly delighted. We began with soup — a course I rarely expect much from. Yet the tomato soup was subtly elegant, perfectly seasoned, and deeply satisfying. The second course, however, was nothing short of extraordinary: perhaps the most delicious chicken I have ever tasted. I tried to discern the spices, but the harmony of flavors was so precise that identifying any single element proved impossible. Gourmando is more than a restaurant — it is a statement in refined cuisine. I wish the team continued success and look forward to returning very soon.

Beautiful Location and very delicious food but it just took too long to get it served at our table. They apologized mentioning that our order was at the end of the list but we noticed that other people that arrived after us were being served before us. Not sure what happened but I must admit that my burger was very delicious.

Went here for Dine LA last night and was excited because it was my first Dine LA experience. My gf said last time she was here the food was great and it was worth coming back to for Dine LA. We had reservations and we were seated upon arrival. Everything was great so far, our waiter was very nice. Found it odd they were out of the duck confit, in the first hour of dinner service. Drinks: Chef special cocktail (bourbon and absinthe mix) it was ok Banshee Pinot Noir (a bit fruity, slightly dry, and smooth) For appetizers we ordered: Grilled Spanish Octopus (pretty tasty would recommend) Chile con Queso Truffle Mac (also another tasty option, truffle oil was very light) Roasted Butternut Squash Soup (great soup, loved how the pepper and spices cut the natural sweetness of the butternut squash a bit) Entree: Wild Pacific Shrimp ala Plancha (tasted good but was Abit salty) 14oz Angus Ribeye Steak Frites (steak was tasty and fries were nice and crispy. I've had better steaks but this wasn't bad) Dessert: Chocolate Ganache Tart (yummy) Reason for 2 stars: Appetizers took quite a while to come out, 35-40mins. Entrees took about an hour to come out. Our ribeye was sent to a different table and had to cook another one. The shrimp came out but was missing a portion of the entree (crispy paella rice which imo was integral for giving contrast in texture) we had to ask our waiter why it was missing a part of the entree. Food overall was good, but waiting for about 40mins minutes for appetizers and a little over an hour for our entrees sucked to the point I wasn't even hungry or had the appetite to even eat half my entree. Our waiter comped our drinks which was a nice gesture, but most likely will not return. Note: no picture of rib eye steak frites because I was IDGAF at that point to almost not care anymore.

Savory & Succulent! This farm fresh cuisine is as mouth watering as it is delectible. My visit was on a weekday afternoon(not their busiest) late lunch hours. The specials lent themselves to my appetite and were exquisitely great recommendations from the staff. I highly recommend this place for their quality of food, but they also have a great selection of drinks & wine, as well as catering service. Cheers!
