Update to respond to owner question - I did not try one but did see them on the counter when I was leaving. I will be sure to try one next visit! Met up with a friend for breakfast. Having never been here we asked our server Heather, about the history. She was very knowledgeable and added information about some of the market items. Food was delicious. I had the Cali Benedict. It isn't served on an english muffin so I added one, ordered firm yolks, and my side was the hashbrown casserole. The paprika cream sauce was a tasty change from hollandaise sauce. Atmosphere is very comfortable. Service was great! I will definitely return.

Have been asking my friend who is a big foodie what the best breakfast spot in Knoxville is. He would always say Holly’s. Was headed to town for a Sam’s run and texted him to verify. He mentioned that it’s actually called Gourmet’s Market but had always referred to it because of the former Exec Chef’s name. Arrived just before 11 and it was very crowded. Almost left when we saw all the people outside but went ahead and asked how long of a wait (it was Saturday morning). They said 20 minutes and gave us beeper #13. At 10 minutes we started seeing people that arrived after us be seated. There were several open tables and my wife started to get a little testy. Since they said 20 minutes I figured I’d wait it out and then ask if the beeper was working. Just after 20 I did just that and they asked my last name. When I told her she couldn’t find it realizing whoever gave me the beeper didn’t write down the name so the beeper wasn’t in the seating rotation. She took us to a table immediately. Backing up, they do have a very small market inside with some cheese, maple syrup, unique sodas, trail mix and other treats. They also have a Coffee Station where you can order your foo-foo drinks or hard core caffeine hangover helpers. Got to our table and talked to our server (Lex) who was 10-Star. She directed us through the menu and got us rolling. I went for breakfast but she talked me into the Vitello Sandwich. Wife had the Egg Sandwich Panini. We enjoyed both but the menu and plates going by us had us so curious that we are definitely going to return and work our way through the menu. The Breakfast portions looked perfect and the prices were very reasonable. Did I mention that Lex was an awesome server? Will definitely try to find our way to her table next trip.

As a fan of chicken salad and scones, this is a forever go-to. I’ve never once left this place feeling like the food or the service could’ve been better. They also make a mean dirty chai 🥰

Google
This place is amazing for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating and parking spots. Very much suitable for large parties. Our server Gina was very sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable as well. I ordered a spicy NERD bowl ( spicy biscuit, topped with 2 eggs and delicious sausage gravy). For my side I choose fresh fruit. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Google
The food, staff, and atmosphere is outstanding! I’ve never had a bad experience or even a mediocre experience eating here. The servers are fantastic and kind, and the food is always amazing. I try to come here somewhat regularly as the food is great and the prices are pretty decent! I recommend the piggy bowl or the nerd bowl for sure. Their lattes and cold brews are also worth a try!

Google
We found this small place in search in something different and new, not a chain. We were very happy with our experience! Their menu options are unique and fairly priced, sweet, savory, heavy, light, and breakfast is served all day. We got pancakes and a Bennie and both were delish!!! Also got the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice which helped wash it all down. Highly recommend stopping in to try this locally loved gem! Our server was very helpful and on top of everything! Nice outdoor seating area for cool mornings.

Google
Had a great breakfast. Arrived on Sunday around 10am and was seated immediately. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We selected this restaurant as they have unique offerings for breakfast. I had the breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs, goat cheese, onions, grilled tomatoes, and avocado. It was delicious. The server was kind and knew the right times to check on our table.

Google
This is a nice family owned business with servers who take the time to explain the menu and not rush the experience. We mentioned this was our first visit and our server went above and beyond to give us a bit of history and go over the executive chef specials. Now the food was an EXPERIENCE! I’ve never had hash-browns with that much flavor. I ended up ordering the Southern Breakfast bowl and if you like spicy the spicy biscuit included gives a great kick not to mention the other peppered in spices that give a unique taste. 10/10 experience with extraordinary food. We recommend an early visit or weekday visits since this is a brunch destination spot. Wait time could be long during the weekend especially after church crowd on Sundays. Busy or not the food is worth it!

Yelp
I've been coming long enough that I remember when it started with "Holly's" on the name! ha Solid 4.5 / 5 with a couple visits over the last 3 months since the recent name update. A lot of the experience looks and feels the same to me, with the staff being one of the most pleasant parts of it. The inside is wide, with interesting things to see all around, and generally clean without any concerns on that front. Good for 1-2 or a group of 5-6 comfortably. My go to are the bennys and some form of a meat with it. For me some of the sides could use some love or a refresh; at times the sides are a little on the tough side or the temp just isn't where i'd want it. The mains and beverages are always delicious with zero issues there - so, just minor feedback from me there. I'll be back again and again and you'll probably see me around, I'm a fan, go and try it!

Yelp
A very public school, boring, nothing special, generic grocery bag of salad, with few interesting items in the salad...Salad wise, Chick-Fil-A and Panera would have been a step up, Tomato head would have been a big step up. We noticed another table that ordered salads also didn't seem impressed. I think the waitress could have given us more suggestions then starting out with some cake?...huh? Apparently the cake wasn't moving that day? Maybe there are better things to order on the menu but we probably won't go back to find out. Just an ok but definitely not gourmet.

Yelp
People seem to like this place, and I had never heard of it until I came with a group for an excursion, for lack of a better term. We were seated really quickly. I ordered an omelet and scone. The omelet was okay, nothing too impressive. The scone, however, was legitimately inedible. It tasted old, not fresh or buttery. Seemed like they just added a bunch of sugar to make it good. So, overall, I was not really impressed by their breakfast.

Yelp
Shoutout to our waiter (whose name I believe was Dagen), who gave us great recommendations and exceptional service, was very warm and friendly, and made this brunch one of the most memorable parts of my Tennessee trip by engaging in a friendly and entertaining discussion about what counts as a bowl. This review comes a little late, as we visited on October 6, 2024. We arrived on a Sunday at around 10:30 AM and were seated immediately. I ordered the chipotle breakfast bowl at the recommendation of our waiter, who said this was one of the more protein-heavy options. It was soooo good, I really enjoyed it. If I could go back to Knoxville now, I'd order it again.

Yelp
So glad we came here for breakfast!! Absolutely a must stop, 9 stars if I could!! Wonderful customer service that had fun with us. Really good food per all 3 people in my group. I'm not from the area but next time I visit Knoxville, this is an absolute go-to! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
I have been eating breakfast here for over a year, with friends on occasion. About a month ago, a homeless man came into restaurant and asked me for money, I told him I would be happy to buy his breakfast, but he said no-just money! He finally left, and I mentioned it to management. Fast forward to this week, I was eating with friends, we ordered our breakfast. Everyone received their food, then mine came out in a to-go-box. When I questioned this the manager said I had been rude and ugly to their employees and she wanted me out of the restaurant. Needless to say, I disagreed with her but finally ate my food from the to-go container paid and left. My friends agreed, we won't be going back. No amount of food is worth being insulted and treated so badly. I guess they would rather have panhandlers vs paying customers.

Yelp
What a cozy friendly place near to get a hearty breakfast with good service and good food. They offer a variety of dishes from bowls to several Eggs Benedict and oatmeal. Outdoor seating is available and they even have a small selection of jams and sauces to go. Make sure you try the tomato jam! Available to go.

Yelp
Food 5/5 - The food was delicious! The Holly's Benedict was tasty and the fruit was fresh. Service / Ambiance 5/5 - The people at Holly's were very kind to let us set up a table for a small bridal brunch. Our waiter was nice and patient. He was extremely helpful suggesting menu items. We had a great time and really appreciated them letting us do that. Great experience!

Yelp
Just what was needed! Every time I come here there is easily a wait but that's because who wouldn't want to wait on amazing food. I got the rib picker and it hit the exact spot. I needed it too. The piggy was ordered by my family member and it was mouthwatering good. I never come here without an exceptional meal that just warms the soul. Shout out to our waiter Benjamin today who was phenomenal. He gave so much good energy and so many amazing recommendations.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite local breakfast spots! The food is a southern charm and the servers make you feel like family. The homey vibe of the restaurant is welcoming and there is also a little gift area to get for friends and family!

Yelp
Unique atmosphere with food and goods to purchase as you walk past the entry to be seated. So many delicious sounding breakfast and lunch entrees and I will undoubtedly be back to try more. I ordered: Rib sticker bowl (biscuit, bacon, eggs, cheese, sausage gravy): salty but satisfying. The bacon was the best part-crisp and perfect. Side of fruit and berries (cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, blueberries): so incredibly small, but the fruit was ripe and juicy Hot latte (no flavoring): creamy, hot, and a cute design. Hit the spot. My friend ordered a scrambler and a side of hashbrown casserole. Nothing mind-blowing, but the scrambler was well-cooked. She said the hashbrown casserole could have used more creaminess and flavor inside and crispness on the outside. Our server was friendly and prompt. My only minor gripes would be the size of the sides, which were very small if you pay the full $5. As a $2 add-on to an entree, it's not too bad, though. In addition, we were there a few hours and never had waters refilled nor were we checked on to see if we wanted another coffee. Lastly, the gravy was incredibly salty on my dish. Not unbearable but borderline.

Yelp
This has to be in the running for friendliest staff on earth. Everyone is welcoming and chatty, while also being super efficient. Our food was really great and came out incredibly fast. We got there around 830am and it was busy, but there was no line. About an hour later, there was a huge line to get seated.

Yelp
Great looking menu and I was so hopeful so I took my sister for breakfast for her birthday. The smallest eggs I've ever seen on a breakfast Benedict.. barely bigger than a 1/2 dollar size and barely any sauce to cover them. That's not a good value for a $17 dollar breakfast plate right there. My sister didn't even get toast with an omelette without an extra charge. And it took forever to come out. Plenty of other good breakfast places.
google avatar

Yelp
Had take out from here our last day on vacation for breakfast. It was good and kept us pretty full until we got home that night :P it was only take out so can't say much else but the food was good.

Yelp
We came for the first time last week and the food was wonderful! We got the rib sticker and southern bowl and both tasted very good. The ambience was great you could really see the joy in the diner, very family oriented atmosphere. We definitely want to come back for more dishes. Something that kept this review from 5 stars is we were charged for several add ons without being told it was extra, practically each item was a dollar or more. For instance when my wife ordered a latte the waitress asked "would you like brown sugar in that?" When the bill came it was $1 charge, definitely took us off guard to see 4 more additional charges for things asked in that manner.

Carly L.

Yelp
We were able to sit down quickly on a Saturday morning (except college students aren't here right now), and the hostess and waitress were very nice. We got power paninis two different ways, and they are very open to substitutions. We also got the rib sticker and it was amazing- all plates were cleaned! Also, highly recommend trying their French toast of the day- it is always divine!

Yelp
Can't believe we spent over 2 years here before finding this cute little spot in bearden. It's in one of those older circa 60s/70s buildings that makes you immediately feel at home. Very enthusiastic and friendly staff. Nice outdoor seating. The menu is smallish... Which is a plus! The boursin cheese grits will turn even the most ardent grit-haters into raving fans. They'll definitely go on my imaginary 'last meal' list. Everything is fresh and perfectly prepared, served promptly, and then you should take your time enjoying the food and the place. Oh, and it's breakfast all day!! Highly recommend.

Yelp
BACK AGAIN TO Holly Gourmet Market Brought a new friend that works as a server in Cafe 4 in Market Square I ate Frog in the Ditch..Swaggerty Sausage Gotawold grilled bread and eggs My friend had Hash brown Casserole and Chicken ASHTON, THE SERVER OUTSTANDING
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, what a gem this spot is! Let me begin with the service, Danielle, unbelievable! Southern hospitality, outstanding attitude and efficient! The restaurant business as a whole has declining service...but not here! Every person at Holly's was smiling and seemed to love their jobs! Food, yum! My entire party loved their meals! I had a great salmon bagel! Prices are very reasonable! Today was a nice spring day so we enjoyed the patio! This is a must for a great breakfast or brunch!

Yelp
I now know why this place is always highly recommended and sought after by locals and travelers alike. Over the last week or so I've dined here twice. On a Tuesday for lunch and Sunday for brunch. Both experiences were top notch: the service, food, and atmosphere. Everything full of flavor, eggs perfectly cooked, beverages always topped off, great hospitality. Everyone in the family seemed to enjoy their food and I will 12/10 be back.

Yelp
I always have a great breakfast experience at Holly's. I really enjoyed the build you own breakfast burrito. It is refreshing to be able to select fresh high quality ingredients that fit your pallet. I do wish they has some type of breakfast potatoes as a ingredient choice. Some of my family members got different bennies, omletes, and the chipotle breakfast bowl with verde sauce. All enjoyed their breakfast and were very complimentary. I am not normally much of a fan of hollandaise sauce but enjoyed Holly's. Lighter and less sweet and more flavor with the smoked paprika. I was also impressed that they were able to make the bennie to the same standard and gluten free. I like to take out of town guests to show them what Knoxville local shave to offer. Excellent dining and service and dishes that stand on the food flavors and are not over salted. I also really like the atmosphere that offers a feeling of being in a group version of grandma kitchen table without being right on top of each other. Pro tip. If you do the build your own, you need to order sides additionally. Closing thoughts. Our Oma called a week later saying she was still thinking about that breakfast and I remember walking out saying "why don't I come here more often"?

Shonna T.

Yelp
We were in on an early, rainy Sun morning. This was our first visit. Staff was friendly, responsive, and as quick as possible. When things began to fill up & there was a wait time, I was impressed that a complimentary table of snacks was set up, even though the line continued to move smoothly. The 2 of us ordered lattes and breakfast. Both were very enjoyable. Server was great. Had a lovely time & plan to return.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I had family in town, so we took them here for breakfast. It was delicious and the service was great! I love how they include local products to the menu. My fave item from today's breakfast was the Cinnamon Scone! It was still ooey gooey hot from the oven. I shared it with the table. It had chunks of cinnamon chips in it which made it extra cinnaminie! I loved it sooo much I ordered cinnamon chips, so I can make my own. The only bad thing was the price. Any extra item you want to add to your meal was a big tally to the bill.
google avatar

Kelsey T.

Yelp
The food is literally amazing. Get the hashbrown casserole you won't regret it! Service has been quick and good, both times i've gone the wait is so much longer than it ends up being, they get you in quick! It's like a market with fun foods and jams but also a restaurant all in one. Great atmosphere plenty of tables!
google avatar

Lesley M.

Yelp
I love breakfast food, and this place did not disappoint. We went with family and their friends (table of 7). I think half of Knoxville was at this location at the time, but luckily we had reserved a table for 1030. We drank a pitcher of mimosas, and they hit the spot. I was a little confused with the menu when it came to wording, but I made a quick decision to go with the spicy biscuit w/ brown gravy. The spicy biscuit was flavorful but not too spicy. The brown gravy was different for a breakfast option, but it was surprisingly very good. I personally don't care for sausage gravy so the brown, bacon gravy enticed me. Their lunch menu looked great so if we are in the area again I hope to visit again.
google avatar

Catrina B.

Yelp
Good menu, great service and good ambiance. I had the chicken quesadillas and they were good. It's clean, attentive and very lively.
google avatar

Derek M.

Yelp
Great place to eat a good old American breakfast or some unique breakfast options. We were closer to lunchtime, so I grabbed a ham and bacon sandwich with a side of fruit. It was delicious, and I highly recommend it for anyone. They loaded the sandwich up with a lot of meat, and the fruit was very fresh. My son opted for the pancakes with chocolate chips. He said they were delicious as well. Our server was very nice, and the place was hopping when we were there. We luckily had someone reserve a table for us ahead of time. We had to wait a few minutes to order, and we received our food in a timely manner as well.
google avatar

Cody C.

Yelp
If you get a chance to sit at the bar, ask if Mary is working! She is awesome to talk to, and she's wonderful as a server and bartender! The food is always on point and it's a fun environment for a Saturday morning when you have been able to sleep in! The Bearden locals can be a little overwhelming to deal with, but the staff is friendly to everyone and you always feel welcome at this great little spot!
google avatar

Janet T.

Yelp
The choices for a Monday morning breakfast were varied but also include all the tried and true items. I chose the quiche and soup special. Absolutely delicious!!! They also have a small selection of favorite items on 'to-go' shelves/cold case like syrup, snack mix, flavored sugars, sauces, baked goods, beverages, etc. Prices were fair for what you get and what is paid at comparable places in the area. The service was quick, accurate and they were polite. If I'm back in the area, I will return.

Steph A.

Yelp
I only pop in every once in awhile. And despite the gaps between visit, I am happy to report it never disappoints. I was there earlier this week (on a Tuesday) and the parking lot was packed. That should tell you all you need to know.
google avatar

Martin O.

Yelp
Nice place for breakfast or brunch, busy but you can normally get seated fairly quickly. Friendly and pleasant staff, great choice of breakfasts to start your day. Clean and bright inside plenty of parking outside. Only issues we had was they only give you one small cup of syrup for your pancakes and charge 75c for a second. Found that a bit petty, also they have no sugar or sweeteners on the table for teas coffees etc.

Steven B.

Yelp
Good food, reliable service. Rarely a wait but when there is they put out hors d'oeuvres which is a nice touch. It's a regular stop when family is in town visiting!

Stacy S.

Yelp
We enjoyed breakfast at Holly's recently. We were a party of four plus a dog. We arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday and were seated very quickly on their outdoor patio. Our server, Stephen, was amazing! He was very attentive to our needs and was very friendly. We all loved our food choices. My dad loved their grits especially. I chose their plate of side dishes and each one was delicious. Next time I am in Knoxville, I will eat again at Holly's.
google avatar

Sally W.

Yelp
My daughter and I ordered the quiche special with Salmon and a side of fruit. The quiche was delicious. I also ordered green tea to drink and it was exceptional too.
google avatar

Whiskey M.

Yelp
Came in on a busy Sunday around noon. Place felt busy but tidy. The little market is a nice touch. Had the Chipotle Bowl...wife had the Bubba Bennie. Everything was hot and delicious. Our server Seth was kind, laid back and accommodating. Had a double shot mocha latte - also, very good. In-house granola was yummy! We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Amelia B.

Yelp
A neighborhood favorite! You can't miss with any of the menu items at Gourmet's, but the daily quiche special is my go-to. I've never been disappointed. Gourmet's is not the most inexpensive option around, but the service is always fantastic, the covered patio is dog friendly, and the little shop area is always filled with great options. I never leave without some chicken salad to go and a few treat bags for friends and neighbors.

Phebe P.

Yelp
Special of the day- broccoli, ham, and cheese quiche. My favorite breakfast in town!
google avatar

Debra P.

Yelp
The menu is large and creative, just doesn't excite me . Went today for brunch, had the muffalatta sandwich. The ciabatta roll was too soft, not chewy like I expected. My friends enjoyed their choices, chicken salad on a croissant. Piggy bowl w/ eggs, spicy bennie. Just not my jam but lots of folks love it.
google avatar

Kyle J.

Yelp
Never been to holly's gourmet kitchen so we decided to try it out for brunch on a Saturday. The wait wasn't long at all and the atmosphere in the place seemed really cool. The staff was awesome everyone was really Polite. The food was cooked perfectly! I had the rib sticker breakfast bowel it's now one of my favorites lol. I had a house coffee with it and a vanilla sweetener the coffee was really good as well. We ordered the French toast to just try it the it was amazing as well. She ordered the dirty chai for her drink and I don't drink chai I have never really like it but I tried the dirty chai and it is something I would order for myself now. She had the biscuit bread pudding with chocolate chips but we didn't get the chocolate syrup on top instead we just used maple syrup but it was amazing and I would Recommend anything we ordered to anyone. Awesome place and great food!

MaryBeth J.

Yelp
Delightfully unique food and excellent service, provided by Ashton. Very knowledgeable of the menu and kind. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Love their brunch special. Literally anything. But today, I tried the Myrna chicken salad sandwich and it's the best I have ever had. Besides the top tier service, Gourmet Cafe has risen even higher in my books!
google avatar

William T.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast a couple weeks back and had a decent time. The parking lot was reasonably large so we found a spot pretty easily, and the dining area looked like it could accommodate a good number of people. I wasn't feeling super hungry so I ordered the oatmeal, and it was only OK - I definitely felt like they could have imparted some more flavor in it. It was also $9 (with the 2% milk), which felt a little pricey given that it wasn't too tasty. The atmosphere inside was kind of fun for a breakfast get together, so I may come back and give the food another chance.
google avatar

Joy L.

Yelp
Hometown feel, quick service, and delicious food. Also, have a small shop area with homemade trail mix, granola, or dessert items to go. We enjoyed the delicious Belgian waffles with fried chicken and many more yummy options!

Joelle G.

Yelp
Love this place! Also love the power panini! Such great food! Fresh grapefruit juice is delicious. They also have the best salsa

Yelp
A year and a half ago, we ate breakfast here and it was better than your average restaurant so with the lifting of Covid protocol, we decided to return. Our server, Gina, was pleasant and helpful. The quality of the food was not as good as my first trip. I ordered the California style Egg's Benedict and because they are the only Bennie on the menu without a muffin, I was up-charged $1.50 to have my eggs served on top of a biscuit. My order came out, it was nicely plated, but I couldn't find the "biscuit." So thinly sliced was it that it was difficult to even taste. In the South, big fluffy biscuits are a staple, but this one was half again as thin as an English muffin. My poached eggs were overdone, so there was very little if the "ooey-gooey" yolk. The flavor overall was good, but the entree in general was disappointing.

Grant G.

Yelp
Disappointing experience with Hollys Gourmet Market this morning. My family and I try to eat their 2-3 times a month, whether that be take out or in person. Called this morning at 10am to place my family's to go order and after a brief moment in hold I said I would like to place a to go order, the response was online? And I said well I'm on the phone so I'd like to place it over the phone. The response was we prefer people to place their orders online during the weekend because we are busy and it frees up the phone line. Really? If that's the Company policy, fine, have an automated message saying that before you talk to a person or just unplug the phones. During our short conversation our order could have been placed. If your in a pinch during the weekend, I'd recommend going somewhere else to place a pick up order over the phone
google avatar

Gary J.

Yelp
I'd give this place five stars all day long. Good food with quality ingredients. I really appreciate the attention to detail on every meal. Our waitress Danielle was outstanding in every way.

Molly H.

Yelp
I'm a little biased cause I worked here but I do really enjoy it. The food is amazing (pancakes and breakfast burritos are to die for) and it's really good when you're hungover. Also the mimosa carafes and breakfast cocktails are delish! Just try if you're in Knoxville. Ps: get the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Life. Changing.

Yelp
One of my all-time favorite breakfast places in Knoxville is hands down, Holly's. They always prepare everything with love and the owner and staff are amazing!! It's literally the only place that I know when I order over easy eggs they come out over easy!! They have breakfast and lunch, but I'm always set on breakfast here, it's a great way to start the day right. They are social distancing and you will feel very safe eating here as they are practicing all the safety guidelines and more. Dine inside or outside or order takeout but you must go support them as it's another favorite of mine!! And if you haven't had their biscuits and gravy, damn are you missing out!!
