Respected Caterer Will Open Gourmondo Cafe in Lower Queen Anne | Eater Seattle

"I'm excited that Gourmondo Cafe will open in Lower Queen Anne in early August at 201 Elliott Ave W; it will feature a patio and a pool table and offer everything from grab-and-go items and a full coffee bar to pressed sandwiches and seasonally influenced entrees for dining in. The cafe will source baguettes from Le Panier, use custom spice blends from World Spice Merchants, serve Molly Moon’s ice cream and Washington-farmed produce, and run a happy hour with discounts on local beer and wine. Other beverage options will include energy and health drinks and canned cold brew, and a small retail area will sell snacks, booze, and meals to go. The new cafe adds to owner Alissa Leinonen’s portfolio — her company employs 250 people, she started her first public cafe in Pike Place Market from 1996–2001, and now operates additional cafes while having garnered awards as Seattle’s largest and longest-running women-owned full-service catering and gourmet box lunch company." - Megan Hill

My union ordered us lunch boxes from Gourmondo's this year for Labor Recognition Week and it was AMAZING!! I remember previous catering they ordered fell short and this delivered in so many ways. My salad had fresh everything, I think they even made their own rasins or crasins because they were plump and still juicy, I have never had rasins like that before. The dressing was perfect and usually I skip the dressing altogether. My turkey, bacon sandwich on sourdough with chipotle aioli wasn't too spicy, just the right amount of slow burn. My potato chips with sea salt were the perfect side for that sandwich, I regularly prefer salty chips over flavored ones so this was a delight! It even came with a decent sized brownie which was baked perfectly and was not greasy. Even the box and the utensils were impressive and fancy! I will be keeping the utensils for future use and the whole experience really made me feel valued as a union member. Thanks so much Gourmondo!!

I beening coming here for few years and there's been a change. Their drinks are hit or miss depending on who makes them. Most the time their portions are off so the drink comes off as flavorless or chalky (matcha). $7 after tip for distasteful drinks. umm, no ty. additionally, there's been a few times that I got sold food past the best buy date. Granted, I never good GI issues, but it'd be nice if they were discounted items. Several of my coworkers agree and have experienced similar issues. I hope management reads this and continues better training for their baristas and QA. I would like to continue supporting them, but not at $7 for flavorless coffee/tea and expired food. Found hair in the salad/dressing. 😕

Huge spot, lots of space, great cold brew. Music is really loud, even noise cancelling headphones can’t keep it out. At least it was good music.

I rarely post reviews on places but the level of customer service always received at this location is incredible & should be noted. I want to particularly give a shout out to Znuie who is not only perfect at this job but is a most warm welcome presence on Elliot Ave; Ty!!!!

I grabbed an iced mocha for a morning walk. The person working there was really nice, and I liked the vibe of the place, but the mocha syrup was all over the sides of the cup instead of being mixed with the drink, and I could barely taste the coffee. Not for me, but worth a shot!

Been here a couple times now for lunch and I've got zero complaints. Good food, good prices, and friendly people. Tons of (delicious) ready-to-go food options along with your standard cafe fare. There's plenty of seating and even a shuffleboard set-up.

Great food although would have appreciated if the place was open a little longer.
