"I'm excited that Gourmondo Cafe will open in Lower Queen Anne in early August at 201 Elliott Ave W; it will feature a patio and a pool table and offer everything from grab-and-go items and a full coffee bar to pressed sandwiches and seasonally influenced entrees for dining in. The cafe will source baguettes from Le Panier, use custom spice blends from World Spice Merchants, serve Molly Moon’s ice cream and Washington-farmed produce, and run a happy hour with discounts on local beer and wine. Other beverage options will include energy and health drinks and canned cold brew, and a small retail area will sell snacks, booze, and meals to go. The new cafe adds to owner Alissa Leinonen’s portfolio — her company employs 250 people, she started her first public cafe in Pike Place Market from 1996–2001, and now operates additional cafes while having garnered awards as Seattle’s largest and longest-running women-owned full-service catering and gourmet box lunch company." - Megan Hill
