Gracie's Diner

Stopped in for a late lunch and had the classic New York City diner experience. Tasty omelette with home fries, bagel, and cream cheese on the side and a bottomless cup of coffee. Really hit the spot. The staff was very kind and efficient. Recommend!

It’s a nice place diner to get a quick bite or to hang out for a bit. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and con beef hash , so pretty simple and good. The server was polite, patient and friendly. I definitely had a nice time with my friends.

I ordered their "flame grilled beefburger" ($13.95) and requested red onions, the combination was very good. There was no extra charge for the red onions. The burger came with coleslaw and pickles. On a previous visit there, their lamb shank (a special of the day) was dry and had little taste. They recently raised the price of oatmeal from $7.50 to $8.95. A price rise that I find hard to reasonably understand considering the fact that they moved to the present location about 9 months ago, so what changed so much since then? They are open 24 hours a day and located on 2nd Avenue at the corner of 85th Street.

Recently, three family members and I ate lunch at Gracie’s Diner. It was a lot of fun! Loved the old school, comforting vibe, unmistakable NYC ambiance and roomy seating (for Manhattan). I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich Deluxe, which was served with a Greek salad and fries. Everything was delicious, and tbh, I was so hungry that I forgot to take any food photos! Sorry, y’all ~ will, hopefully, add them the next time I go back! Post lunch, I ordered a cup of decaf coffee with oat milk, which was lovely. The wait staff was very kind and so attentive. Our main waiter returned with a cup of fresh coffee (with oak milk), before I even asked for it! All in all, Gracie’s Diner comes highly recommended, especially if you’re looking for a more casual, family-friendly place on the UES. There’s something for everyone (including vegetarians), at this establishment. We all enjoyed what we ordered and went home both full and with leftovers for later. Best, Kat

Ordered 2 different soups, Mashed potatoes with Gravy and fries for my kiddo. Even with being sick and unable to taste and smell, I was able to taste all the salt packed into all the above items. If it was one thing ok, but 4 DIFFERENT food items were PACKED with salt. Added a pick of two of the 4 items.

Great diner. I had a basic burger and a cup of coffee after. I will definitely get back as the service + food are both excellent.

I've been a loyal customer at this diner, living right across the street and enjoying many good meals here, but after my experience last Friday morning, I cannot overlook the unacceptable service. The food and coffee were as good as always, but the service was downright appalling. My friend and I were casually chatting in our booth after breakfast when the waiter abruptly asked us to leave. With at least 10 other open tables and no waiting customers, he first brought the check and then returned five minutes later, waving us off with a curt, "Could you guys please leave." No explanation was provided, and no courtesy was extended. The hostess, sensing the awkwardness, even offered to comp our meal—a kind gesture that felt inappropriate given the waiter's unprofessional behavior. While her offer was well-intentioned (we didn't take her up on it), the real issue is the staff's conduct. Management should focus on retraining this waiter in customer service skills and appropriate interaction protocols. As a long-time regular who has dined here for years, I hope the restaurant will take meaningful steps to address this incident. Diners should be welcoming and respectful, not places where patrons are arbitrarily rushed out. I trust management will ensure such treatment does not happen to other customers

The best, love to come here and have a classic nyc diner experience . Staff is so sweet and food is always good
