The 22 Best Restaurants in Houston’s Montrose

"With its California-cool aesthetic and wraparound patio overlooking the Montrose Collective, Graffiti Raw feels like an escape within the city. The all-day menu draws from various regions around the globe, with plates like charred octopus, a Thai chili-basil crab and shrimp fried rice, ceviche, and red enchiladas. Weekend brunch, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, reveals even more sweet and savory enticements, like rum-soaked Texas toast, chilaquiles omelets, and a golden schnitzel topped with Grafitti’s signature spaghetti carbonara." - Brittany Britto Garley

Graffiti Raw - Review - Montrose - Houston - The Infatuation

"From the same restaurant group behind spots like Flora comes Graffiti Raw, an all-day restaurant in Montrose inspired by Mediterranean and Mexican cuisines. The space is designed with the laid-back, beachy energy of California in mind, and there are dishes like ceviches, crudos, spaghetti with uni and calabrian chili, and whole roasted branzino." - Gianni Greene

We had baked oysters for appetizers, Crab and shrimp fried rice and the cheeseburger. Baked oysters; 3 stars , the oysters were not cooked thoroughly. Fried rice: 5 stars, excellent flavor and quantity Cheeseburger and fries: 5 stars, very tasty meat and the fries superb We had two grapefruit drinks, one with alcohol, one without. Very good choice for a restaurant in the Montrose district, will come back for sure

Delightful place with a shaded patio right in Montrose collective! Come here for some air, wine, and Sunday Brunch. The area is always happening so a good way to enjoy the day and stroll and shop after. Note: valet is complimentary if you’re dining here as parking can be a real challenge!

Great place to grab lunch or brunch... I want to eat everything on the menu! Everything looks so delicious! Great patio area, too!!! I had the spaghetti carbonera, and it was so creamy and good! 5 STARS!

This is the type of restaurant you’ll want to return to! Food and service was amazing. My friends and I each purchased four courses with Houston Restaurant Weeks for $55…and what a deal. La Perlita was tropical perfection. Everything was rich in flavor. The caviar paired with the onion dip on the chip was delicious! The calamari was seasoned and perfectly fried. The chocolate tart was thick and smooth. Absolutely delicious paired with the berry compote. Overall, every single item I tried was beyond amazing and memorable! This is a small restaurant, but it is BIG in flavor!

We visited Graffiti Raw in Houston for Happy Hour, and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Each dish felt thoughtfully crafted, from the fried rice to the vibrant cocktails. The drinks were refreshing and paired perfectly with the food, adding to the overall experience. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxing, making it an ideal spot for an evening out. Highly recommended if you’re looking for great food, excellent drinks, and a fun ambiance in Houston!

Came for the last day of Houston restaurant week and it was amazing! Got the cod croquettes, tuna rice cake, red snapper ceviche, crab and shrimp fried rice, clam linguini, roast chicken, tres leches, and chocolate tart. The croquettes were great with the sauce and the rice cake was unique and perfectly chewy and had so much flavor from all the accompaniments. The fried rice was a little too salty for me but good flavor overall and good chunks of crab. The ceviche was absolutely delicious! I wanted to drink the juice! The linguini and chicken were also flavorful with big portions, but the spinach that the chicken came with was so delicious on its own. And last but not least, the desserts were divine! Love the berry compote for the chocolate tarts which tasted like brownies, but the tres leches was heaven!

Easy to find, hard to park but there’s a paid parking garage right across. Cute outdoor seatings, and inside is real chic gives you that LA vibe. I came here on a Thursday for lunch, shoutout to the manager on duty. He was so nice and accommodating because I made a reservation and was 30 mins late. The server was nice and informative as well, gave us a few recommendations. This place is good for friends and date nights. Le Pepino cocktail (5/5) - I’m not much of a drinker but this was delicious and refreshing The jacy cocktail (3/5) - a little too sour but perfect spice level Octopus (5/5) - perfectly cooked and seasoned Carbonara (5/5) - creamy and rich! Branzino(4/5) - the Brussels sprouts was perfectly cooked and the fish was fresh! Cheesecake (4/5) Overall, the food really impressed me and would definitely come back!

I visited here for brunch and the food was delicious. I was impressed by the unique dishes and the service was impeccable. The server was very knowledgable, gave great suggestions and was attentive to whatever we needed. The atmosphere is nice as well. Great lighting, cute decorations and I love seeing real plants. My only gripe was the food was a little too seasoned. Like at one point I wish they held back just a little. I could see myself coming back here and I would recommend others to give it a try. Oh and My mimosa glass was half full so it felt more like a sip. Just a heads up on that but all in all, this is a nice gem in Houston.

Yelp
Run. Don't walk, the octopus is out of this world (in my opinion). I have tried octopus in pretty any restaurant that has tasted it... and this was far superior. Davis the Manager on duty touched our table and came over multiple times to check on us. We had a couple of kitchen mess ups, but Davis and Daze (sorry if the spelling isn't correct) made it right and were amazing. Burger was delicious, and the mussels linguine were delightful. Loved the boho chic/relaxed look and feel, and we will definitely will be back for that Octopus!

Yelp
Finally decided to pull this off my restaurant list and visit on a perfect Saturday afternoon. The hostess and our waitstaff was wonderful! We were initially provided a drink and brunch menu and had to request a regular menu - so both are available. We had both a regular martini and a lemon drop martini for lunch - both were good! The appetizer guacamole had a great taste and consistency. We both ordered the chicken milanesa - was not impressed...and would not recommend. The decor is light and breezy. Complimentary valet parking is offered, there is a parking garage and depending on when you go, you might find street parking.

Yelp
My wife and I drove into town to join in on a birthday dinner for a friend at Graffiti Raw. This was our first time eating here. We arrived on a Friday around 7 PM and we were surprised to find our 3 friends, including the birthday girl, seated outside in the dark. Our friend stated to us they had made a reservation, but for some odd reason they sat us outside. Our friend stated to us that management or the server had told them they were having issues with the exterior lights, which for us would make sense that they would seat us inside where we could actually see everything on the table in front of us. We could literally see so many vacant tables and chairs inside, it was so frustrating. Server was nice and mostly attentive with bringing our food, drinks and checking on us, but can't give them too many props for not advocating for their customers who would be tipping them at the end of the night. I'm pretty sure a manager even came out to check on us and apologized for the lack of lighting. You can even see my need for flash in my pictures of the food. Food-wise I ordered the Shrimp and Crab Fried Rice--it was okay. Definitely a little more spice than I was expecting. Don't believe it is worth the price it's sold for. To drink I also had an overpriced Frozen Margarita, also just okay. Pretty disappointing first experience here, don't know if we'll ever come back.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this restaurant in the Montrose Collective area. I joined my friend here for brunch/lunch. I like the California cool ambiance and food theme. I ordered the chilaquiles omelette. I thought the tortilla chips stayed crispy despite the sauce. The egg was light and thin. I think it could've done without the extra salsa on top because the chilaquiles salsa was already tart. Then pair that with the dollop of sour cream, it was all around too acidic. If it was topped with a few slices of avocado, it could've balanced out the dish more. I ordered a side of crispy potatoes that were cut kind of homestyle in cubes. For $5, it wasn't worth it. The presentation wasn't great. It was greasy and also had a squeeze of what tasted like lime in it. All my dishes were too acidic/sour. The potatoes were also over and undercooked throughout. What I enjoyed the most was the mocktail called The Golden Hour. The green tea was refreshing, and the peach slice was nice and frozen. I was torn between that and the La Perlita which has pineapple and crème de coco. Actually I had told the server that I wanted the La Perlita, but she forgot I switched from the other. It was fine since I was open to trying either, and I enjoyed The Golden Hour. I think their mocktails are just as fancy as their cocktails and reasonably priced compared to most restaurants who up charge even though there's no alcohol. The chocolate hazelnut ice cream was also fantastic. It was rich but not overly sweet. I liked the chopped hazelnuts throughout. Perfect for a hot summer day in Houston. I wasn't blown away by the food quality that day and for those price points, but I would probably come back for the drinks and try something else from their lunch or dinner menu to give them a second try.

Yelp
This is based off HRW 2024 menu Service: Service was pretty good. The waitress was super nice and explained things well. The manager came by as well to see how we were doing. We went with a group of 5 people and Apps: Crispy rice tuna: it was a decent bite. I wished the tuna colder. The rice inside was mushy on the inside but crispy on the outside. 3/5. Calamari: I enjoyed it a lot. The seasonings weren't typical Italian. Kind of citrusy and very crispy. I enjoyed the butter lemon sauce. 4.5/5 Miso Caesar: this was surprisingly delicious. Nice and bright. Crunchy. Good texture. Everyone at the table enjoyed it. 5/5 Ceviche: it was good. Ceviche was firmer than I liked. Flavors worked well together and was good. 4/5 Caviar and potato chips: good. My companions liked it more than I, but everyone else enjoyed it. 4.5/5 Fried rice: this was delicious. The rice had a nice bite to it. The only complaint is that one person got a sauce on the side and the other didn't. The little sauce which was vinegar based I believe was really nice and added some oomph to the dish which my companion wished she had gotten. 4/5. Mains: Clam pasta: was sooo sooo soo salty. I love salty food but 4/5 of us got this dish and we all agreed that it was painful to eat. We asked for the manager because it was soo dang salty. They remade the dish for us but it was just as salty. The manager let us know that the head cook who made this dish didn't add any salt and that the clams were salty, but the thing is, if you have a lot of complaints about it, and the chef had made it right the first time, then they should have doctored it up to dilute the clam juice if they had to to control the salt levels. They could have offered for us to get something else instead of the same dish. Our sweet waitress brought out some cream and lemon to help salvage the dish for us. It made it edible but still with us doctoring it at the table it was super salty. 1/5. Chicken dish: nicely done. Crunchy, well seasoned, and the salad with arugula was a nice accompaniment. The potato on the dish was just a boiled potato but it didn't detract anything from the dish and was a side. 4.5/5. Dessert: Beet cake was delicious. 5/5. Tres leches: pretty good. Horchata rum flavor was strong. 4/5. We thought it was funny that they charged .75 cents per slice of bread. Our pasta was so salty that when they took our first pasta that they took the bread too, so when the dining companions saw the .75 cent charge, it was a little annoying.

Yelp
Took my dear friend out to celebrate all her accomplishments based off recommendations from friends and I'm glad I listened! First off the service was amazing! From the general manager to our waitress Brittany... we were well taken care of! It was a Saturday evening and business was booming ! Even with how packed the establishment was, everyone was very attentive ! Drinks - we tried the barefoot in Barcelona, welcome to Miami of their summer spritz list and capped off with espresso martinis (tequila) ! Well crafted ! Food - we had a feast. Started off with the calamari, oysters, and garlic shrimp. The calamari was a bit over fried but still good. The stare of the apps was the shrimp... the sauce it is glazed in was perfection. We split the crab & shrimp fried rice and the steak frites! The rice is the star of the show! That girl! The steak was also well seasoned and we asked to pair it with the sauce the garlic shrimp was made in and it was amazing! For dessert we had the tres leches and did not disappoint. Overall ... please make your way here!

Yelp
Taking down the positive reviews due to absolutely horrible service tonight. Sadly my friend was too nice to allow me to tell the manager but I will never come back based on this dreadful experience.

Yelp
Had dinner during restaurant week. Great service. Loved the California vibes of the decor. Drinks and food were excellent! Can't wait to return. Favorites: pearl drink (think pina colada on the rocks); calamari appetizer is a must, crunchy and fantastic on its own or with sauces; dinner was ok nothing bad but nothing that made us want to come back for it; beet cake is an experience not sure if I liked it enough to have again but I didn't regret trying it (and I love beets).

Yelp
Came here on a weekday during happy hour. Waiter was great, knowledgeable and said all the items I ordered were good and he wasn't lying! Everything came out pretty fast, the ambiance was nice. Cute brunch spot, their decor so pretty too, lots of windows for a nice scenery. --Raw Oysters (5/5) - Refreshing! Not too briny and their from the East coast which are the smaller oysters. The smaller ones are always the better ones. --Chips and Caviar (5/5) - Nice little savory appetizer, chips with creme fraise and caviar that was not too briny. --Roasted Oysters (4/5) - Big gulf coast oysters. Good but not much flavor just a creamy crunchy texture. --Ceviche Combo (4/5) - Some were a bit fishy too me, but the sauce sort of steered me off the fishy ness. --Linguine Alla Vongole (4/5) - Creamy pasta with clams, the sauce was a bit too watery to my liking but it was still good. Hints of spiciness to it --Crab and Shrimp Fried Rice (5/5) - Very flavorful, reminds me of a Thai style fried rice but a better version. The basil, spiciness with some shrimp, crab, and they weren't shiesty on the eggs which is usually a problem to me. --The Jacy (5/5)- a spicy tequila drink that's right up my alley! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant makes for a perfect date night. The modern decor and lively music lend itself a great dinner. We chose the linguine allá vongole and the sphagheti rustichella for our two entrees. The were both amazing, but would recommend the linguine allá vongole, especially if you prefer a little spice. The spaghetti was good but didn't stand out. Our server was very attentive throughout the night. I would recommend a reservation as it may be hard to get a table inside as a walk in. They have a nice outdoor seating area but would recommend indoor for the full experience. On the weekends they do have $5 aperol spritz in the evenings.

Yelp
This place was on my Houston Restaurant Week "to do" list. So of course we had to check it out and see what the hype was about. The food did not disappoint! They have a 4 course meal and I wish I would have taken more pics because they say the first 2 courses are half sized, but I was full before the main course arrived. But big boy is going to make space. I don't usually eat seafood but this place had me indulging in shrimp and crab fried rice, calamari, and even clams. All of the food was amazing. The service was exceptional and they even kept my son company while I ate. The chicken was delicious and crispy, a California twist on chicken Parmesan, but better. We enjoyed every bite. The interior design is simple, yet amazing, it gives feels of eating alongside blue water and I loved basking in the ambiance. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
We came in for houston restaurant week and it did not disappoint! The service was amazing and attentive. The food was all brought out in good timing and everything was delicious. It was a little loud and the seating can feel cramped especially with a lot of the waiting parties waiting at the bar area. We felt like we had to shout
google avatar

Coya A.

Yelp
Food and Service was extraordinary. They provide a complimentary cocktail while you wait. Saturdays get packed so I'd recommend a reservation. I tried them out for HRW 24 so that may be why. Everything I ate was delicious. The chicken paillard was light yet filling though it was fried. Wasn't a BIG fan of the potatoes that accompanied it. The crab and shrimp fried rice had a fresh flavor. It was one of my faves. The calamari was ok. It was light and cooked well. I felt something was missing flavor wise and I think it was the sauce. I'm a sweet chili or aioli girl. For dessert I had the beet cake which was surprisingly yummy. I would go back to Graffiti Raw again but not on a weekend. One star was removed because we weren't seated for another 35 minutes after our reservation time. Restaurants typically cancel your reservation after a 15 minute grace period
google avatar

Yelp
Cute restaurant in the Montrose collective area. They have a great happy hour. Lot of their dishes are half off, but slightly smaller portion sizes. Got the fried rice and calamari, both were made well and had the right balance of flavors! Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Houston restaurant week review! First course, we had the calamari and rice/tuna. The calamari was seasoned well and perfectly crispy. The rice/tuna was good too but the proportions were way off. The calamari was a good size. The rice/tuna was a one bite situation. Didn't make sense why there was such a difference in sizes of courses. Both were delicious but the sizes didn't add up. For second course we had the red snapper ceviche and the fried rice. Again the proportions were wayyy off. The ceviche was maybe 3 bites (little bit of ceviche with lots of chips). The fried rice was a good size for 1-2 people. Both tasted good--but wished they were better sizes. The third course we had chicken paillard and roasted salmon. The chicken lacked salt and was covered in an arugula salad (literally just leaves of arugula lol). The salad lacked flavor and color. The potatoes were very bland. We didn't enjoy it. The salmon was basically swimming in butter along with the greens. Way tooooo much butter and no seasoning at all. For the fourth course, we had chocolate tart and beet cake. Tart was okay. Description says pistachio crust but there were just crumbs of pistachio sprinkled on top. Beet cake was not it. That's not cake yall. It was stodgy, dense and lacking flavor. I couldn't taste cinnamon or pecans. There was supposed to be a cream cheese icing but that was straight up buttercream. No tart from cream cheese. Cake is supposed to be fluffy, crumbly, and moist. This was so dense, as if it had been prepared weeks in advance and frozen. Definitely not fresh. Dessert was a disappointment. Honestly giving three stars for the service-incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The staff was 10/10. The ambiance is a very lax, beachy vibe. The first two courses were tasty but lacked in proper sizing. The last two courses were not good. I don't think I'll be coming back--def not worth 55$/person.

Yelp
Amazing. The decor, the waiters' attire, the chairs and tables, it's all amazing and with how great it is and being in the Montrose area I would have expected higher prices! Dishes are an affordable $16-$27. Because of that I'd go again. I stopped in to celebrate my birthday with a few friends and we loved it. Our waiter was amazing. The chicken cutlet entrees are to die for. Get them! Everyone raved about the seafood fried rice as well. But everyone wanted to keep eating my chicken cutlet! The greens on the avocado toast were simple but tasty too.

Yelp
I really enjoyed going here. Me and my friends went for a Galentines dinner and I was not disappointed. Our server was very nice and suggested we try the Orange wine. This was my first time trying orange wine and I really liked it. We were also feeling a little boujee so we got the caviar and chips. I didn't know what to expect but I really enjoyed the flavor combo with the salty caviar, light cream, and crunchy chip. I also liked how all the food on the menu were things you would see at most restaurants with a slight twist to it. My favorite dish was the fried rice. The restaurant itself is super cute and I love the decoration. It feels cute yet casual and low key at the same time. I didn't have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
Beautiful dinner outside on the patio. Service with a smile and great recommendations on wine, a delicious white burgundy. Crab stuffed avocado, octopus, and mean green salad hit it out of the park. Crisp, fresh, bright and bold. Entrees, Cioppino and sea bass special, ridiculously good. Beet cake? The answer is YES!
google avatar

Sophia S.

Yelp
The ambiance is great! It's a cool vibe with a classiness to it. You can dress up or down a little. The service is phenomenal especially from the owner who is super kind and always recommending things. I've been twice and so far has not disappointed! Also the food is sooo good even if it is a little pricey. A must have is the spaghetti rustichella and you can get it with lobster in it!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have always loved this place, but our recent experience was disappointing. We decided to have dinner there, only to be told by the manager, Helen, that they were closed due to a slow night--despite it being an hour before closing. We decided to give it another try the next day, so we called ahead to confirm their hours and ask if we could dine in. The person on the phone said yes, but when we arrived, the manager, David informed us we had only 3 minutes to order. His behavior was rude and unprofessional, and he claimed he wasn't responsible for the hours or rules. This is one of our favorite spots, but it's unfortunate how unethical and unprofessional the management has become. In the end, we were the first to leave, even before the other guests who were already there before us.

Yelp
Love Graffiti Raw! Tried their dinner menu for the first time and it was really really good! I love how smal and intimate the place is. We sat at the bar for dinner and drinks and let me tell you, service was fast and excellent! All the seafood options were so amazing! Will definitely return again to try more!

Yelp
Ambiance, is so California chic. The place is kind of small, and I actually love that. The restaurant felt very quaint and private. The service was quick and staff were all polite. They offer complementary valet next-door, just don't forget to validate your ticket. All of the ceviches on the menu sounded so good. We chose to go with family style dining and shared the red snapper, jicama, mango, and avocado one. It comes with some lightly salted crispy chips that pair perfectly with the ceviche. The main course we decided on was the clams and linguini that came in a white wine sauce with some mild spice (it does come spicier, but we told them mild). The pasta was so tender and the clams so juicy. The amount of sauce was light and aromatic. A great compliment to the dish, without being overwhelming, like some places. For dessert, we had the chocolate tart with pistachio crust and berry compote with a side of chocolate hazelnut ice cream. That was the cherry on top! I highly recommend coming here. I can't drink, since I'm expecting, but the drink/cocktails looked and sounded good too.

Yelp
Have been meaning to try Graffiti Raw since it opened and finally made it in on Mother's Day. The restaurant was less than half occupied which did not lend to an upbeat atmosphere but was actually nice because it was quiet enough for us to have a really nice visit with my parents. Our waitress could not have been better or more helpful. She made wonderful suggestions and was just an overall delight. For my main I ordered the forbidden rice bowl and subbed chicken for salmon. I don't know if that feels worth $31 but it was delicious and filling and I would absolutely order it again. Parking is kind of a pain in the *ss and I would be curious to see if it is more bopping on a Friday or Saturday night, but we will be back.

Yelp
This new spot in the Montrose Collective is so aesthetic but also so delicious! I came here for a gorls dinner and it did not disappoint. For drinks, I got the Lustre Pearl, which reminded me of piña colada and I wanted to finish the whole thing! We got the roasted oysters to share, and this was so tasty with chipotle butter, parmesan, and breadcrumbs. Also the oysters were huge! For the main, I got Linguine Alla Vongole, which was with white clams, and it was so flavorful and garlicky despite having chili in it, it wasn't spicy at all, which was great for me since I'm bad with spicy food ): I finished everything with their beet cake, which reminded me of carrot cake but BEET. It was my first time having beet in a cake and after the initial shock, it was quite tasty LOL! This place gets packed quick so be sure to have reservations just in case!

Yelp
I am so happy I finally got to try this place after hearing about it from literally EVERYONE lol. This place was super packed on a Friday night. I definitely recommend making a reservation if you want to get a table without waiting forever. I made a reservation days prior and still ended up waiting about 20 minutes. The inside of this place is super chic, reminded me of a restaurant that you can find near the beach in California. I loved the decor and it felt super cozy inside! We were greeted right away after seating with water and our waiter came shortly after to get our drink order and give us a brief run down of the menu since we were first timers. To start I ordered the collective, a pineapple mezcal based drink with white rum. It was delicious! I ended up ordering a few of these throughout dinner. For appetizers we ordered the caviar & chips, roasted oysters, and tiradito de salmon. All three were amazing. The roasted oysters were made with a chipotle mayo that was super tasty, I couldn't stop eating them. The tiradito de salmon tasted so fresh and the orange zest made it the most refreshing appetizer. Since we had a good amount of appetizers, for my entree I ordered the whole roasted branzino. This is a pretty small portion and no sides are included. It was perfect for me because I was starting to get full but if you are hungry, I would definitely a couple of sides to go with this. However, this branzino was delicious! Lastly, we ordered the tres leches for dessert. Super moist (as it should be) and delicious. And this is coming from a person that normally does not eat dessert! I also wanted to highlight the service that we recieved here. Dejah was amazing! She was attentive, knowledgable, and overall super entertaining. She kept us laughing all while provided 10/10 service. I will definitely be back :)

Yelp
General Description: A modern, artsy, and vibey restaurant with a California inspired menu. The good: - Service was great. I felt like they had too many servers compared to how slow it was. - Presentation of the dishes were great. The bad: - Every dish was salty; especially the fried rice. It was as if the kitchen got too happy with the soy sauce. Our server was kind enough to have it remade and packaged togo. However, upon checking the rice when we got home, the dish tasted the same. I have a feeling they just heated the same rice up and packaged it nicely. - Food took long to come out. - A bit overpriced for subpar food. Other notables: - Complimentary valet. Overall: Disappointed.

Yelp
Another solid montrose collective establishment. Honestly I was hesitant about trying this place thinking it would be mediocre over priced food. Happy to report, that's not the case. Fully worth trying out the HRW menu with its 4 courses. Highlights were: crispy rice and tuna- tasty sauce accompaniment shrimp and crab fried rice- just a solid basic fried rice with tasty morsels of crab and shrimp vongole- this was garlic city...super flavourful, and filling! Our server was very attentive- some might say a touch too attentive- checking in with each course, but super nice and friendly! They have some nice patio seating, with fans! Would be nice for when Houston cools down a bit. Definitely take advantage of complimentary valet, or can park in the garage.

Yelp
Love this beautiful restaurant! Interior is warm and inviting. Staff are friendly and attentive. Crowds come in fast and furious during dinner time. It will be good to have reservation. Parking can be challenging here. Either street parking, garage parking, or valet. My partner and I had the HRW dinner menu. I chose the cod croquettes, caviar and chips, linguine alla vongole, and beet cake. I also ordered The Jacy to go with my food. My partner had the crispy rice & tuna, crab & shrimp fried rice, pan roasted salmon, and chocolate tart with an additional scoop of chocolate hazelnut ice cream. Cod croquettes: generous amount of cod in each croquette. Nicely seasoned and the spicy sauce that came with it complemented the croquettes. Good dish. Caviar and chips: chips were seasoned with a little salt. Caviar had the natural saltiness in it. But all the saltiness was balanced with the sour crème fraîche. Good dish. Linguine alla vongole: the ingredients were fresh. The white wine and lemon butter sauce gave the dish different flavors in a bowl. The dish wasn't spicy though I was told it would be. But it didn't matter to me since the dish was already well balanced. Beet cake: the cake had the same texture as a carrot cake. All the said ingredients (beets, pineapple, pecans, and cinnamon) were present in the slice. The frosting was not overly sweet. It was great with the cake. Crispy rice and tuna: rice was pan fried beautifully, and the tuna was fresh. Not sure the need for a small slice of avocado, nonetheless, it was a good dish. Crab & shrimp fried rice: very flavorful and the cook on the rice was perfect. It has a little spice to it but it was good. Pan roasted salmon; fish was fresh, and cooked at the temperature desired. It was properly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Chocolate tart: very rich chocolate but not overly sweet. The chocolate tart resembled chocolate truffle. The chocolate hazelnut ice cream was rich, and of perfect sweetness. Delicious! The Jacy: spicy, sour, and slight sweetness in a drink. The drink was refreshing, and had the right amount of alcohol in it. Very good! I had a wonderful dining experience. Definitely coming back here again for the wonderful food!

Yelp
After shopping, my friend and I decided to stop by for a quick drink. We ordered the Drip and The collective. The drip was delicious and had a nice chocolate hint of coffee. As for the Collective, it was very refreshing but the mezcal was a bit overpowering for my taste. The bartender was nice enough to switch it out and recommended I try another drink, which I cannot remember the name. Plan to return soon for the food.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate 2 couple friends of ours wedding anniversaries. Very laid back environment that makes you feel like you're on an island vacation. The staff was on top of keeping our table clean, getting our orders right, and even comp'ing some of our dishes to celebrate the anniversaries. It's a bit on the expensive side but you should know that most places in this newer block of Montrose are the same way. There is some parking on the street but there is a huge garage right across the street.

Yelp
We visited Graffiti Raw for Houston Restaurant Week with a few friends. First let's talk parking- Graffiti Raw is in the Montrose Collective area. Unfortunately, they would not validate for parking in the parking garage but would for the valet. The inside of the restaurant is super cute- Miami Beach vibes. It is small. We sat in the middle and we were fairly comfortable. The menu was a little pricy, including the drinks. We were thankful for restaurant week. We loved our appetizers. The cod croquettes were delicious. The ceviche was very fresh. The caviar served in the caviar chips were plentiful, but they did charge us when we asked for extra chips. IMO the best entree was the burger and fries. I would skip on the chicken and the salmon. Just very average. The desserts were fun to pass around as well- the beet cake was the most unique. Overall, I would come back for an nice dinner.

Yelp
Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! They don't miss! I went in with friends and we got plates to share (mostly) so I was able to try different plates and nothing that came out was mediocre. The seafood is good. The drinks are good. I would highly recommend. They have complimentary valet (just tip). They also have indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
After seeing so many high star reviews on Yelp, we decided to give this restaurant a try. Very small but cute place with coastal vibe decors. It's in the busy Montrose area. so parking options are: valet, paid parking garage, or test your luck with limited street parkings. Service was very attentive but also it was a weekday and they were not busy when we were there. Overall, food presentation is A+ but everything was over salted. We kept asking for our water carafe to be refilled to wash all that saltiness down. What we ordered: _ -Charred Octopus: 3:5 was very small to be sharable. The one dish that was not heavily salted. Spaghetti Rustichella: 1/5 because it was the most salted dish we ordered. Other than the uni infused flavor, it was just plain salted spaghetti noodles. Too pricey for just a simply dish Nori Tostada: 4/5 Probably the best dish we had but too small to be shareable as well Forbidden Bowl: 2/5 Nothing too special. More like a vegetable rice bowl. There were very few pieces of salmon- 2-3 cubes of salmon to be exact Whole Roasted Branzini 5/5 was the best dish out of everything we ordered because the fish was well seasoned and not over salted like everything else. Sautéed Daily Greens 0/5 mixed green sautéed with 1 pound of salt. It was left untouched after the first bite because it was so salty. Plantain & Taro Chips 3/5 chips were perfectly fried, not greasy. Again over salted so we had to brush the salt of with the tablecloth to be edible. We will definitely not return to this restaurant.

Yelp
Montrose has changed so much over the years. There's a lot of new up and coming restaurants such as Graffiti Raw. Parking in this area can be tricky. If you're unable to snag a street parking spot, there's a parking garage in the building across from the restaurant. My friend and I came here for dinner for HRW. The ambiance inside was very earthy and coastal with plenty of rattan decor. Unfortunately, reservations fill up fast so only patio seating was available. This made the experience slightly uncomfortable because the Texas heat even around 6PM was still pretty intense. The servers did their best by providing fans outdoors. We ordered cocktails to cool us down. I highly recommend the paper plane if you're a fan of whiskey-based cocktails like me. Our first course was the crispy rice and tuna and the cod croquettes. The crispy rice and tuna was probably one of my favorite dishes of the night. The crispy rice was done really well and the tuna wasn't too fatty. The cod croquettes were also pretty good but I mainly just tasted the potatoes. The second course was the crab & shrimp fried rice and the red snapper ceviche. The fried rice has Thai chilis in it so be warned that it has a kick to it. Thankfully, the freshness of the ceviche balanced it out. My friend loved the tortilla chips paired with the ceviche. We both ordered the roasted chicken for our third course. I was surprised with how big of a serving we got, both the leg and thigh. The chicken was moist yet the skin was really crispy. The chicken was paired with a chimichurri sauce and a bed of greens. We were already getting pretty full but managed to make room for dessert. The chocolate tart was very decadent and had a rich chocolate flavor so I'm thankful we shared since I probably could not eat more than one. We were intrigued by the beet cake but it was just okay. The cake was pretty much a carrot cake with a lot of cinnamon. The beet "frosting" added a bit of earthiness. This was one of the few restaurants participating in HRW that offered 4 courses for their dinner menu so I'd say the total cost of our dinner was worth.

Yelp
Vibes all around in a prime location! I was struggling to find parking, then found out later that they validate for free only if you park at the lot next-door. Prices are a bit high for smaller portions, but definitely worth the experience. The aesthetics here are spot-on and photogenic for Instagram. We shared the charred octopus (highly recommended), roasted oysters, clam linguine, and miso Cesar salad. Would come back and order all of these again, in addition to their other seafood dishes I'm tempted to try. All of their cocktails are well crafted and beautiful in presentation. The restaurant itself is pretty loud and gets crowded, so I would make a reservation if you're coming during prime time!

Yelp
It was date night on a Wednesday evening and we had reservations at 6:45. We arrived a few minutes early so we ordered a cocktail at the bar first. The place was very busy and there was not much room to walk between tables. My partner ordered a gin & tonic which was served with the torched rosemary. Very clean and refreshing cold drink! I had the Big Sur that I saw on their instagram. It was good! It had more orange juice than I thought it would. It was kinda like a tequila sunrise. I would probably not order it again unless it was earlier in the day, like at brunch. First we enjoyed the tuna tartar served with plantain chips. The baked oysters were AMAZING! Next time I want to eat an order of six all by myself! Our server described the special for the night: linguini with a delicious lemon white cream sauce and added diced tuna. It was tempting, however we chose the linguini either clams. It was delightful! We were seated near the restrooms which made for interesting people watching. There are two gender-neutral restrooms on opposite sides of each other. A person may try one side, it is occupied, so they walk over to the other side and it is occupied. Fun stuff. Will return for those oysters!

Yelp
I've come here a couple of times and really enjoyed the look of the restaurant, the great drinks and wine program l, the bartenders (Des, Audrey, and Eaker) are fantastic and Gia is an excellent manager. All of them are so personable and make the experience 5 stars. My friend wanted to do his birthday here so we came here on a Friday. We ordered the charred octopus and calamari for starters. Both were delicious and had a good amount of saltiness and acid to the dishes. Also ordered the Regalis Caviar Osetra (they have Hackleback, too) and it's served with tater tots and crème fraiche. I asked for plantain chips and I had never had Regalis Caviar Company before and their osetra was just as good as any out there. Entrees were the mole ribs, savory but not sweet at all. The steak frites with the chimichurri, and the branzino (deboned and two filets) with garlic and parsley. The table also ordered the forbidden bowl and linguine and clams. We ordered some great wines too at excellent by the bottle pricing. Dais, our server also ensured we got dessert, which was also great. I'll be back next week for sure.

Yelp
This place had it all. The service was top notch. Everyone works at delivering the food so the server focused and making sure our needs are met. The food was very unique but nothing that was too bizarre that was intimidating. We loved it all.

Yelp
Walked in to a cute, very energetic small restaurant. Had a wait a while for my reservation (20-30 minutes) which was disappointing, but they did offer me a sample frozen margarita. Table service was excellent followed by roaming manager assisting. Food was wonderful, delicious menu! Overall 5

Yelp
Everything we ordered was delicious. I was craving cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly on a weekday lunch and the restaurant has a nice ambiance. There's a nearby parking garage across the street.

Yelp
Get the octopus!! You absolutely will not regret it. That is all. :) Side note- every single dish we tried here was amazing. Super cute ambiance for a date night!

Yelp
Been wanting to try this spot out and they recently started doing happy hour so it was perfect. The service was excellent our server was so knowledgeable and gave us some great recommendations off the menu and the manager Alex also came to check on us throughout the night. The happy hour menu in my opinion was amazing, it was high quality food for a decent price and portion sizes. They also had about 4 cocktails that were part of happy hour just not on the happy hour menu. The restaurant itself is beautiful it feels intimate with dim lighting. The happy hour menu is featured every day from 11am-6pm. Our personal favorites were the crab fried rice and the guacamole. There is valet, a parking garage or street parking. Will definitely be returning soon!!

Yelp
Love this cute little place at the Montrose Collective! Parking: Valet, paid parking garage across the street, or limited street parking in the neighborhood. Ambiance: Modern yet casual, great for a dinner with friends. Not too loud which is a plus. Service: I was greeted immediately upon walking in and the staff was very attentive and friendly. Food: - Charred octopus: 3/5, was a fairly small portion for our group of 4 to share but otherwise grilled well and I enjoyed the chorizo it came with - Seared scallops: 3/5 - East coast oysters: 4/5 - Miso ceasar: 5/5, this is sooo good. Nice and crisp, I love the garlic chips it's topped with - Tiradito de salmon: 3/5 - Pink tartare: 5/5, the salmon and tuna was nice and fresh - Cheeseburger: 4/5, this is made as a smashburger and it tasted great! - Linguine alla vongole: 5/5, this dish is amazing, the pasta is made perfectly and the sauce is delicious This place is a great addition to the neighborhood and I can't wait to come back and try out the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Another good addition to the area. The parking garage makes the whole complex easier to visit, but they suggest that you valet with Uchi or Marmo so that you can get the valet validated. The aesthetic is great, beachy boho that really doesn't falter at any point of the restaurant. You feel wrapped in the vibe here. Service was great as well; Deja was chipper and eager to answer any questions and offer plenty of suggestions. The food was really strong on our shareables/appetizers round. Oysters, caviar, ceviche, octopus, and some others were all super flavorful and bright. Very balanced and yummy. Not overly large portions, so definitely get a couple more than you'd think. Anything under the apps, ceviches, and crudos sections is great. Honestly you should just do a big family style and order exclusively. The entrees were kinda lack luster. I got a catch of the day Mahi that was ok. Very well prepared, but nothing I'd order again. Someone else got a $36 seafood fried rice that had hardly any visible seafood, that's a big knock if you're gonna charge that much for rice. Overall enjoyed the visit!

Yelp
Located behind Uchi and Marmo, Graffiti Raw struck me initially as being a bit millennial-pretentious with its name; it's not quite a name for an up and coming Indie band or an alt rock outfit. Parking is a bit of an issue in this area; there wasn't valet so there is the paid parking garage opposite the restaurant. After the meal, our waitress told us to use the valet for Uchi or Marmo; too late! Interior is going with a very uniform tan/dirt/beige color way; interesting. Our server was extremely friendly and enthusiastic about their menu. Big fan of their chair design and interior. They proclaimed being a California/Venice Beach concept; I don't really see it outside of the few seafood dishes and definitely didn't really see anything particular off the menu during the times I've been in Venice, CA. We ordered a few apps and mains. Octopus 4/5, cooked well, portions are a bit small Shrimp 4.5/5, great sauce Crudo 4/5, decent sauce and plenty of octopus, portion was slightly weak. Oysters 3/5, a bit bland and breading a bit over cooked Shrimp and crab fried rice 1/5; at $36, this is the worst thing we ordered. No lump crab spotted in there. Stuffed avocado 3/5, not spectacular, slightly bland. Overall, ambiance is a solid 4/5 for those who like Chip and Joanna Gaines. Color palette is consistent for the interior and a good look. The menu seemed like it could've been a more concerted approach to me but most of what we ordered was good. Value is a 3/5, portions definitely on the smaller side for some dishes. The appetizers definitely were better received than the entree's and that would be the recommendation; order apps and go family style.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday around 6pm for dinner. We originally had reservations at 7:30pm but they were accommodating and seated us immediately since there were open tables. It did get busy soon after and noticed people had to wait so I would recommend making a reservation if you're going to come at prime time. Street parking is available if you're lucky. There's also valet and a parking garage you have to pay for across the street. Overall ambience felt like a vacation. I loved the bohemian decor and natural lighting. The drinks we got were the Lustre Pearl and The Jacy. The Lustre Pearl was on the sweeter side, but if you like pina coladas, you'll enjoy this drink. The Jacy is good if you like spicy drinks and tequila. For appetizers, we got the Greek Crudo and Charred Octopus. The octopus was easily my favorite dish of the night. It had a good charred flavor balanced with the seasoning, creme fraiche and lemon juice you squeeze on top. Our waitress cut the octopus for us to make it easier to eat. The ceviche was just ok. I felt like it was missing sauce so it felt like we were just eating dry seasoned fish. For entrees, we ordered the Spaghetti Rustichella and Pork Ribs. The spaghetti was pretty good and the uni wasn't too fishy. I wouldn't say it was super amazing though. The ribs require an acquired taste. We were unfamiliar with mole so we didn't know what to expect. It had a slightly bitter taste and we could taste the chocolate in it which we weren't huge fans of. It didn't have any standout flavor to it, but the ribs were cooked well and were very tender.

Yelp
Had a great date night here. The server was courteous and quick. We had the rosted oysters, ceviche combo, westcost tuna and a delicious tres leches! A great all around meal. The ambiance music was hit or miss but the food was incredibly tasteful.

Yelp
We came in on a Saturday for dinner reservations at 7:30 pm, we had to wait for our table and it was understandable given how busy they were. There wasn't much room to wait by the hostess stand so we had to wait outside and it was cold, wished they had some outside heaters. Both of our dishes were SO salty. Got the clam pasta and shrimp and crab fried rice. Our drinks we ordered arrived after our food due to the bartender being overwhelmed. Would not come back anytime soon. Decor was cute. The waitress was great and very friendly so at least the customer service was good! Shout out to her for handing so many tables on a busy night.
