Graham & Rollins Hampton Seafood Market

THE BEST fresh seafood market in the state! They have a wonderful selection of seasonally available freshly caught fish and seafood, including hard to find items such as live Louisiana crawfish and a plethora of shellfish. Everything that I have ever purchased from the market has been fresh, very reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. One of the best features of this place is their unique dual business that features the seafood market on one side and a sit-down restaurant attached to the other side that features a full independent menu as well as the ability for customers who purchase seafood from the market to have it cooked on site and served to you in the restaurant. I live almost 3 hours away and make the trip religiously when I'm in the mood for seafood. The live/steamed blue crabs, live Louisiana crawfish, fresh sea scallops, and clams/oysters are my absolute favorite things to get when I visit. If you are a fan of fresh delicious local seafood, then I highly recommend that you make the trip to check out Graham & Rollins Hampton Seafood market! You will not be disappointed! I would give them 10 Stars if I could!

I came here for lunch with co-workers and this place is actually busy. It’s a fish market with an attached restaurant. The restaurant side is spacious and the fish market offers a variety of fresh seafood and select frozen meats. I ordered the fried Cajun catfish with collard greens and Mac and cheese. It was a little pricey $19. But you did receive 2 big pieces of fish and small servings of the sides. The Mac and cheese was lacking flavor and so did the greens. It took a lot of salt and pepper. Not a fan other sides at all. But, the fish was perfectly seasoned.

The wife and I had been in NY for the past 9months but talked about the foods we missed, so after being home for 4 days we went to get our soft shell crab sandwich from G & R. This sammich is a soft shell crab on a bun with a crab cake, bacon, lettuce and tomatoe. And of course I added some of their BoomBoom sauce. 🥰👀. We usually get one during the summer to satisfy that craving. This thing is no joke. I have eaten other items off of their menu but this is my go to. I drove 4 1/2hrs to Md to get this same sandwhich a few years back, but in Md I paid $48 per sandwich, all because wifey say that place on the Food Network. G&R got this thing for $17 without the 4hr drive. I'll makw sure I get me another before the season ends.

My wife and I are new to the area. We thought to check this local seafood spot out and ended up getting two pounds of shrimp. They rang us up and asked if I wanted them to steam the shrimp we purchased for $3 a lb. In my head, I figured it was convenient and they probably could do a better job than I could but that was an awfully wrong assumption. We got to our house which was about an 8 minute drive and opened it up to extremely overcooked shrimp. It was probably my fault for not checking before we left the store and maybe the steam from when they steamed the shrimp kept cooking them. Overall the seafood in the market looked good, I would suggest if you don’t want overcooked seafood to cook it yourself.

Great hot crabs and service. Crabs should come with butter or condiments. For extras condiments the charges will be ok.

Crab Cakes (broiled AND fried were absolutely delicious (just watch for the few small shell pieces 😉)!!! The She Crab soup and scallops were amazing as well! McKenzie provided excellent service!!!! Overall, worth it!

We drove from Connecticut to visit this fish market. This place is off the hook. This place is special, one of the staff workers named "Jac" she was super awesome and very friendly. Make this a stop on your list when you visit Virginia. My personal vote for the best seafood restaurant/shop in Hampton. Also purchase a T-shirt to take back to your town or state. The prices are the best and being from New England we only buy the freshest seafood. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. Also note if you buy, they will fry!
