"We like to hit this Morningside Italian restaurant for aperitivo hour, which includes drink specials and $12 Neapolitan pies. "Chef Pasquale “Pat” Pascarella of the White Bull, Alici, and Bastone opened his Neapolitan pizzeria and Italian restaurant Grana in the Piedmont Heights neighborhood in 2020. The menu features wood-fired pizzas, meatball selections, and Pascarella’s handmade pasta paired with classic cocktails, Italian wines, and beer. Sofa chairs with chic fire pits line the space’s back wall, so you'll see couples cozying up while deciding which hand-stretched Neapolitan pizza to go with. We suggest the classic margherita, but we have a soft spot for the potato, a sweet and savory one with pistachio and truffle honey. "The rooftop at Grana has a lot to offer if you’re a fan of watching cars whiz past on Piedmont Ave, but we prefer to gaze lovingly at the meatball flight on our table. And after a three-story climb to reach this Morningside rooftop refueling is a must, so snag the potato pizza (our fave) drizzled with honey and pistachios. If pizza cramps your style, the Italian restaurant also has a great Happy Hour. Take your cocktails or glass of wine to their comfy lounge area with fire pits or to high-tops beneath string lights.
