I can only speak to the late night experience here but we had a great time having drinks here with friends. The DJ playing added to the overall fun vibe here. The bartenders made perfect classic cocktails. Love the high ceilings and couches.

I came here with a friend and I ordered the Coupe de Jardin and it was delicious. Fruity but not too sweet with a creamy texture and pretty strong to sip for a while. My friend ordered the Old Fashioned and he liked it as he usually orders straight whiskey. The staff was so kind and efficient, the waiters kept refilling my water and checked up on us a couple of times. The décor is beautiful with rich and luxe fabrics, colors, and textures; the atmosphere is warm, with candle-lit vibes with space to come with a group of friends or a 1:1. The music is pop but not that obnoxious new stuff, more tbts, and it's not too loud but still contributes to the vibe.

I went for lunch with my wife yesterday. She ordered the salmon, and I ordered the steak. I don't have enough words to describe how bad my steak was. It was obviously frozen meat that was never given time to defrost. The quality of the meat itself was atrocious. I wouldn't feed an animal with this meat. You didn't need to cut or try the meat,,the sight was enough to put you off.

My go-to bar in New York. I have YET to have a drink there and not be spoiled by the service team. Bar staff always welcoming and conversational.

Beautiful, beautiful space with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, service leaves much to be desired. Our waiter was snippy and impatient — almost as if he didn’t have time to take our orders (only to be tapping around the POS for a solid 5-10 minutes to act busy — it wasn’t busy by any metric). When the drinks came, he placed down the wrong drink and rolled his eyes when notified. No one frequents an establishment like this to be treated as less than. I notice that many of the poor reviews are in reference to lackluster service. If this is something management wants to address directly: we were a group sitting in the bar room on 10/29 around 4/5pm.

Would not reccomend. We sat, didn't receive water for almost 20 min on a wed night. The server wasn't around often. So we left a cash tip, just for my card to be charged again when I got home for a second tip that the server added. Would not recommend

Great place to grab some drinks and listen to music. Bar gets full quickly and it’s usually hard to get a table if you don’t plan ahead.

Was there first week in Dec with friends for a drink before our meal. Wonderful atmosphere with live music but not so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. They make a great cocktail too.

Food was really good. We got pancakes, shakshuka, egg sandwich and sweet potato fries. Sweet potato fries were especially crispy and flavorful. Pancakes were really good and so is the shakshuka. Drinks were fine. They were able to accommodate our party of 7 on a walk in. Would come back

We live nearby and decided to pop in for dinner. While the ambiance is great. I was underwhelmed with everything else. What stands out the most is that my husband ordered a salad and asked to have salmon added. The salad came out, no salmon. He immediately said something and the salmon did not come out until the entrees arrived. By this time, the greens on his plate were gone. He had said he wanted the salmon with salad and the server straight up said-this is fine as is. He asked for some greens to accompany the salmon and the server asked if he would like to purchase a second salad, which he did. The way this interaction went down just did not sit right with me and this review started out as a 2 star but after getting this out in writing, I reduced to one star. Really didn't feel welcomed. It's unfortunate because it would be a great spot for business meetings and we live so close. Will never return

The food here is delicious. We got the short ribs, which were so tender, and the mac and cheese. The drinks were well crafted the service is impeccable. I have been several times and never disappoint.

I was there yesterday afternoon. They had a great all vinyl dj. This is a great spot to bring anyone you'd want to impress.

One of my favorite lounges in the city, Robert the Maitre'd is amazing, he takes care of each guest in the kindest way, and he is fabulous ok?! The bartender William is good at his craft, Christian is one of my favorite servers, music is popping on the weekends, and the crowd is diverse. Definitely a fun spot. I'll always come back.

the only good thing about this place was the chocolate cake i had. it was very tasty but i have lots of cons. first of all i looked at the menu and the cake wasn't on there at the door. so i asked the hostess how much the cake is and she said 12. ok good......they sat me down and i was near a lady on a zoom call -_-......seriously? .........table is tiny and not much room to put my bags. i don't like putting them on the floor so i put them on a small chair next to me. the blue chair i sat in was comfy. i just thought the zoom call was very distracting and loud. i thought the place looked classy but it reminded me of starbucks with ppl on their laptops -_-...........the cake came with ice cream on the side which was also good but i just took a tiny taste of it. i wanted to take the cake home and they packed the ice cream with it!!! who does that?? it will melt!!!!! so i asked again just the cake only. i didn't yell at them i asked nicely and they were nice enough to pack it again. but still i was shocked to see a place pack ice cream. as for the bill i saw the cake was 14!! plus tax it was 15 and change. THE FUCK?! get your prices right or put it on the menu outside!!! i paid and got the hell outta there.

The star is simply for ambience and crowd, which was great, but no stars for the bar. My drink was absolutely awful, no where near what it was supposed to be, and then it took another 20 min of getting ignored just to get the tab so I could leave. Will not go back, simply because of the bartenders. And I've bartended myself in the city for years so I know how busy it gets, and I have tons of patience and understanding, but Jesus you guys - you did absolutely nothing right. Several people around me (at the front of the bar!) also getting frustrated and even leaving before they could order because of how impossible it was to get to the bartenders. How do you have 3 bartenders but no customer is getting tended to?

Whether for a glass of wine or a classic cocktail or a late night snack or a full meal, Grand Bar is always there to fill the need. Not necessarily the best food or drinks in Soho, but extremely consistent and reliable. Convenience means a lot and being on the second floor of the Soho Grand Hotel makes it extremely convenient. Always reliable.

This place is not what it used to be. They describe themselves as "lavish"? It used to be a glamorous place for the stylish & beautiful. They've majorly lowered the bar. Last night, crowds of young people on a Fri night in T-shirts and sneakers. ALL of them. This is now a place for Tik Tok kids in mom jeans and no longer the sexy upscale place it once was. Really sad that NYC is dying and the soho grand is dying with it. GET A DRESS CODE AT THE VERY LEAST!!!!! Pathetic.

Had a great time in the lounge during a rainy and windy Sunday. It was a great crowd. I had a few snacks, but they also have a full menu with delicious options. The DJ was great and played some nice tunes - no hip hop or house, just old school tunes. I had the Tuna Crudo and highly recommend. I would highly recommend this lounge if you're in the area. It's a nice and classy place.

Excellent food! Please do yourself a favor and try the grilled cheese or the pasta with burrata (OMG!). Trim, our sever was excellent and super on point and would offer us drinks when we were just about ready for another. The DJ on Saturday nights was excellent! And the scene is fashionable & vibing. Great for dinner or late night snacks/drinks. Must go if you're in Soho and "want to get away from it all..."

This is a whiskey bar (obvious from the large selection of bottles behind the bar) but the wine list was decent too. I really liked my glass of rosé. The ambiance is dark and romantic. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city.

This was a great bar in the Soho Grand. Cozy and lively at the same time it's a perfect place to start or end your evening. I love French martinis and Jay made me a lovely one on our recent visit. Nice patrons, solid drinks. What more do you need?

Pretty cool bar inside the Soho Grand Hotel. Inside the door and up the stairs to your left will get you to the lounge and the bar is to the left inside past the hostess stand. On a Friday night we grabbed a couple seats at the bar, the place was comfortably busy with plenty of small groups in the lounge in the cushioned chairs and sofas. We ordered two tequila based drinks off the specials cocktail list and our bartender did a great job preparing and serving us with a welcome hospitality. I think our drinks were called Hells Hundred Acres with was the better of the two drinks, a smokey tequila with a nice bite, the second was the Spicy Sanchez, which was more in the line of a margarita with some sweetness added by agave nectar. Cool place, cool vibe, our barkeep mentioned famous people pass through or stay at the hotel on occasion but he couldn't mention names. Perhaps I'll explore staying at the hotel on a future visit.

Great looking bar with a lounge type area and then a normal bar area. The type of crowd that comes here isn't the normal people I would hang out. Maybe Worth checking out once if you're in the area. There's a private party area that we snuck into with a live DJ as well

Decent drinks, but the staff is fairly terrible. The waitress we had was aggressive - no other word is appropriate. She slammed drinks down and generally was unpleasant towards us. My wife ordered a French 75 - a cocktail she gets very frequently - but the bartender was making it incorrectly (e.g., you don't shake a champagne cocktail (because it's sparkling)), and as a result we brought it up thinking it was an unintentional mistake. Instead of offering to remake a drink or offer something else, the bartender and waitress insisted that "everywhere else you've gotten it is wrong." That is not service you expect for an $18 cocktail. Cool place, but better to go to Gilligan's outside and save yourself the attitude.

Train your bar staff to be more attentive and friendly!!. Horrendous service. I walked out since the waiter had no interest in taking our order. He was apparently so overwhelmed by this one couple who showed up way after us and wouldn't leave their side.

Great whiskey selection, bar is well lit during the day and both the bar and the lounge have a ton of people with laptops open and working during the day so you actually feel productive while putting off work to put down some booze. Grilled cheese with roasted tomatoes, french fries is a nice cold day dish. It's hard to call this a grilled cheese sandwich as there is 4x's the amount of bread to the cheese (which almost feels like a cheesy-butter spread). Filling yes, the kind of gooey and greasy sandwich you crave, no. Butternut squash soup is a large portion and well seasoned. Nothing fancy or unexpected, just a good bowl of soup. Cobb salad with butter poached lobster is a let-down. The salad comes arranged like you'd expect to find in the to-go aisle at the grocery store. The lobster thrown on top feels like an afterthought. For what they're charging, I was expecting something MUCH better.

Classy but overpriced for what you get. Nothing really special. Though I have to admit, we are spoiled here in the city, we expect to be wowed every single time we go out. Slight mistake and stars come off. 3 starts, because the service was below our expectations. We only stayed at the bar for few drinks but the bartender was not as attentive as you'd expect in $$$$ place and it took her a while to get us the check. As I was waiting for a friend, she asked for my credit card when I ordered, again, pretty common practice in New York, but for less upscale places. If you can get a bartender other than the blond, I think you'll be fine. Interesting interior and lighting, spacious with comfortable chairs.

The girls and I came here on a Saturday night because it was walking distance from Cipriani Downtown. Once you enter Soho Grand Hotel, you have to take the stairs up to the bar. We were seated in the lounge like area all the way in the back by the bar. I thought it was the best place. Our server was nice. Reason for the 4 stars is the music. OMG, it is hard to find a place where they play GOOD old school music. This place on a saturday night (can't speak for their other nights) had THE BEST music. I was trying to find the dj to thank him but he wasn't by the booth. By old school, I mean they played Nas (If I rule the world), old school Jay Z, reggaeton, it was great!! No one was actually dancing but my friend and I did :-) I would come back here on a Saturday night again. Oh, the drinks are pricey, but this is Soho.

I was staying at the hotel and decided to eat breakfast here. The food is not anything to write home about so when the service is below average, it is not a place that I would return. Service - below average but other guests received over the top service. Food- ok depending on what you order Service - I agree with the review below. Staff could be better trained. Not only was our waitress (French woman?) not attentive, gave us attitude and treated other guests with better service, she automatically added a 20% tip to the bill for my fiancé and I. The funny thing is that we tip pretty well, normally above 20% for avg. service. Food - Coffee was not great. I had eggs, potatoes, sausage and a pancake, which were all fine. Fiancé had the fruit with yogurt - not worth it but he was looking for something healthy.

I've been here on multiple occasions, but I was here the other week so I thought I'd finally review it. I love the comfy couches, beer / wine selection, and vibe. The ambiance is great, the food is decent. I was catching up with someone who I hadn't seen in a year here. I thought it wouldn't end, but the with comfortable seating and great space, 2 hours flew by. Definitely recommend this place for intimate conversations and spending time getting a drink with friends. To be honest, I didn't even notice the music, so I can't really tell you if it was good or bad, but knowing the Soho Grand, I'm sure it was just fine. Drinks are pricy, but not out of this world. I've had drinks here alone and drinks with groups - it suits both. It's a nice place to start the night or end it. Come here, sit back, have a good conversation, and enjoy the day/night.

This is the bar where I realized most bartenders in New York don't like making Jager bombs... After a nice dinner at BLT Prime we decided to go to a chill lounge where we can just relax, converse and have a few drinks. We were a bit lethargic from the long flight so we decided to have some Jager bombs to pick us up. What a mistake that was. Instead of Jager, this jerk gave us some crap called Sambuca. WTF is Sambuca? It's something that tastes like sh*t. It was as if he knew were from out of town and wanted to play a mean prank. Haha. Our friend told us that a bartender he knows only gives Sambuca to people he hates. Hmph. Anyway, after we drank the "Sambuca bomb" we decided not to order from that bartender again. We stuck around for a bit longer. Drinks were expensive but I guess at this establishment you're paying for the great ambiance and for the eye candy because most of the people, patrons and employees, were attractive. People were really well-dressed too. It made me feel really under-dressed. Maybe because I was. I was too tired to get dressed up. I was in jeans, t-shirt and chucks. Ummm...now I know for next time. Always dress up when going out in New York City.

Since I haven't been able to fit the SoHo Grand into my budget as far as staying there - I finally made my way over to the Lounge for a drink the other night. Nice place - dark, comfortable, loungey. We found a comfy spot on the couch and our very pleasant server suggested we try the margaritas - which we did. This is quite possibly the best margarita I have ever had! It may have cost somewhere around $18, but after drinking it I barely cared. Definitely worth the trip!

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this hotel bar on the way home from midtown, and boy am I glad we did! The hotel itself is ultra-chic. The grand staircase is lit, and leads up to a bar and lounge with plush, oversized chairs and giant bird cages filled with indescribably ornate paper-mache birds. We nuzzled ourselves in to one of the over-sized chairs and were immediately greeted by a waitress. We enjoyed wine, cheese, and some really delicious cocktails for hours. This bar was the perfect place to spend our last night in New York City. I'd highly recommend coming here with a big group of friends (there is a more "clubby" room by the lounge) or a significant other.

Yawn. Another lame hotel bar. Dark decor, dark couches, dim lighting, grumpy bartenders in dark shirts, a DJ lazily alternating between Gorillaz and James Brown and thinking he's spinning hot ish, all catering towards an uneasy, vapid repertoire of white-collar uppity types and trashy-glam, $400-ripped-jeans clientele. It's a stuffy vibe in there, and while the girls were attractive and some of them actually nice - we struck up a conversation with two Irish girls who were rightfully treating the states as a weekend shopping spree - there's no element of adventure or improvisation at Grand Bar. It's almost like you're riding in an elevator for a long time with somebody you know from work, yet nobody says anything. I also think the only way you could possibly charge 18 bucks for a margarita is if Salma Hayek comes included. Case closed.

Delightful place, either for a Sunday day-drink and a snack or a nightcap.

We were originally going to go to Felix but instead walked over here as there was a large event going on there. There were 6 of us and we asked if we can sit at the couches instead of the tables. They happily obliged. Pricey drinks but what else do you expect? You see tall, leggy blondes, ladies in fur and one couple had three white, carefully groomed and ribboned Malteses barking up a storm but no one said anything to them. Our server was professional and gorgeous herself. Classy venue and a great place to grab a drink before dinner.

I've had dinner here twice in the past three months. I had a burger and I had the salmon. Both were very good. You won't leave raving about what you ate, but you will be pleased. It's simple, traditional food that's prepared well and tastes good. The salmon was only 24 dollars, which is a fair price for the area. A glass of Macallan 12 costs 15 dollars. That's all I ever order. So, I don't know what the drinks are like. This is a fine place to grab a good dinner. It's not a place that presents culinary masterpieces that will be discussed in foodie magazines, but it's very good food. The service is exemplary. The ambiance is terrific. The Grand Bar is a nice mix of opulence and whimsy. It manages to be both posh and a little steampunk (the lights on the actual bar are naked low-lit bulbs encased in a glass box and there's a big lithograph of Peter Sellers from Kubrick's Lolita on the wall). The designer seems to have tactfully fused elements from the 20's with contemporary. The only problem with the Soho Grand's drinking and dining areas is that they are a bit small. They include two small studio apartment size bars connected by a long narrow corridor filled with sofas. Places like SoHo Grand are the closest you can get to an upscale night club without having to wait in line for entrance. Overall, the people range from 21 to 71 (it's a hotel). But the majority of people on the weekend are affluent trendsetters around 30. But there are always fortysomething couples on dates. On certain weeknights (at least in the past), there's an up and coming DJ who draws all the 23 yr old hipsters from east of Bowery and Brooklyn.

I had a really amazing first date here. So much so that it reminded me that all of this and these kind of places are to help people connect, and if they are lucky, in a special way. It didn't hurt that the ambience was just perfect, exceeding my expectations and what they have on their website. This is really a hip dark cool lounge. The interior actually reminded me of Daniel the restaurant a little, but with music. It was laid-back and casual and really a perfect place for a first date. Comfy couches too with coffee tables. The only thing that really stuck out and didn't make sense but I didn't care was they have all these fake birds in decorative cages here amidst the couches and a DJ. That was a bit random, but then again, this is Manhattan. I ended up having a mint tea (my choices were lemon verbena and mint) in a tea pot, which came late and so they actually waived, and sweet potato meringue pie (yummy meringue which tasted like pumpkin pie a little). I think my date had three drinks. The waitresses wear cute black cocktail dresses with open backs and cute big bows covering their bottoms. The music wasn't that great (they should work on that), but the connection between people the place enabled by being the perfect backdrop and setting, definitely made up for it.

As far as upscale hotel bars go, this one is fine. Not too big, not too small, not too stuffy, not too obnoxious. I came in the early evening when it was still empty, so I'm interested to see what the night vibe is. Staff was friendly, although they automatically included a 20% gratuity for a party of 4--so much for the large party rule. Cocktails were nice.

We have visited Grand Bar before and last night it was deja vu. I love the grand doors as we entered the hotel, however when we were in the main hallway, lighting was very dim which gave me a gloomy, dull feeling. It didn't stop there. We spiraled up the stairways and came across the bar/lounge area. The hostess greeted us with a smile. And of course, no surprise, there were no seating in the lounge area. What else is new in NYC! We approached the bar area and my mood swung into joy.. With a pleasant surprise, a fellow gentleman offered the us, two gals, to sit down. It was Cool! The bartender greeted us and waited for our order. Great smile and service. But, No martinis on the list. So, I went the conservative route and ordered red wine by the glass. It was ok. My friend ordered a special vodka on the rocks and it appeared to be a unique bottle. He looked up the price on the internet and $15. Not bad! Good choice! Guess what, this day and age, everyone doesn't socialize in gatherings anymore, you will see friends glued to their mobile screeen, one way or another. One individual in our group who is a newbie yelper had friend requested over 1000 contacts from his phone list the same night. He excitedly yelled out, "I have 12 friends added me within minutes". Another hooked on YELPER and counting.... Time was ticking and clock striked past 12am. It was time for my beauty rest. Would definitely recommend this elegant, sophisticated bar..

3.5 stars. While the Soho Grand never fails to catch my eye everytime I whiz by in a cab... and while I also enjoyed my time here, I have to say that overall the experience here is only a 3.5 stars for me. We were in the living room having drinks by the couches. Since we were a party of 3, we each grabbed a seat in different couch seating on each of the 3 corners of the table. The problem with the seating is that it probably works only if you are here with a date and plan to cuddle or sit close together. For a party of 3, conversation is a strain if you lean back into your seats and in order to get a decent conversation going, you'd most definitely be leading forward - depending on how long you stay here, it could become slightly uncomfy. They have a DJ spinning in the living room and tonight he was doing some 80s track... and I distinctly heard Bizarre Love Triangle two times in my stay here. Maybe he really likes that song (I do ;p) Drinks were good. We had some port and mint lemonade (my fav! more places should serve this!!! I last had a mint lemonade when I had the bartender make it @ Lupa but really first discovered it in Manhattan Beach at can you believe it - Le Pain Quotidien. Hmmm more of LPQs in NYC should catch on this.... really.)

I'm surprised by the low rating. I thought the bar/lounge was perfect: cozy, comfortable, sophisticated, classy. Cocktails are $16, but generously sized and really good. Loved the waitresses dresses! I also tried the food - had the salmon with vegetables and pesto, and it was filling and delicious.

Wow, probably the coolest place I've been in a long while. The W hotel chain (yeah I said it, ...chain) aspires to this but will never be Genuine and warm I'll be back

I mean, its nice and fancy, but I wouldn't say its $10 for a bottled beer fancy. My friend enjoyed her cast iron cocktail, worth the price if you're a guest and get those drink tickets. There were like 4 hosts / hostesses standing around looking beautiful, but it still took them 10 minutes to tell us whether or not we could sit at a table if we wanted to just order drinks. All in all, it was okay, but there's classier places to warrant spending your dough.

This is one of our favorite brunch locations in Manhattan, It has the quintessential Soho vibe and the lounge area is the most comfortable seating arrangement with comfy couches and chairs that make you feel like your living room. The service is great and the food is terrific, and done exactly as ordered. Some of the best omelettes and French toast anywhere, and whole wheat pancakes like we have not found anywhere else. The manager Murat is friendly and accommodating and the service from everyone is exceptional--Zwenksa and Barbara among the best. It's the best Soho spot we know

We must have gone to the Grand Bar & Lounge on an off day. Don't get me wrong, I can certainly see how it could be an splendid spot. However, the time we went, the host disappear for like 30 minutes and no one could find him. A line of people were forming at the front and started wondering in and out looking for a place to sit. I think this bar is very much on the tourist map. There were absolutely no Americans there. We heard English accents and other european languages. I think it's a bit too touristy for my liking. The decor was very nice, luxurious and svelte. When crowded, it would be great. May be we should try it again.

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Saturday night. This is a well decorated, classy venue. We were surrounded by beautiful tall people (sucks to be short?). My friend had reserved a space for everyone to sit and chat. The music mix ranged from '00's R&B to indie pop, to I don't even remember, but it was good to sing along, dance, head bop, etc.

Always a nice place to grab a couple of drinks and whine down..

The breakfast here is AMAZING! Really good food - and priced very reasonably. The Full English and the Full American are both super yum. Service is also very good. You won't be disappointed!

A friend of mine was staying here so we decided to meet for drinks at the bar. If you love the whole speakeasy vibe, you will love it here. The hotel itself it unspeakably beautiful. The bar upstairs has great Prohibition style drinks, and it's very open and inviting. We then went into the club room to have food and drinks, while listening to some live music. I literally died and went to Heaven. You truly feel like you're in the movie Casablanca. There were pictures from the movie all over the walls, a piano in the back, comfy couches, a huge fireplace, and two people playing instruments with music from the 20s. We ordered the grilled octopus, quinoa, crab cakes, and sweet potato fries. I thought everything was great. My only complaint was the service. It took forever to get a drink. Either way, the ambiance is beautiful and enchanting to say the least.

If you are the type of person who enjoys mingling with the SoHo art crowd, the proto-hipsters from Chinatown and a healthy dose of European tourist, this is a good spot. I didn't find it annoying in the way high profile bars can be. The prices are higher, which is to be expected. The service was decent which was a bit of a surprise. I prefer to go to the James hotel when I'm in this area and looking for a hotel bar and I'm more inclined to go to the Mercer if I had my way, but the Grand is a reasonable alternative...

Cool vibe. Very good service, great food. Relaxing atmosphere. Dining on sofas works at home so why not in an expensive hotel? Huge windows give the room a lot of drama. I like it. I had the eggs, ricotta pancakes + pain chocolat. all very good.

It's a must for me, to enjoy a cocktail at the Grand Bar and Lounge every time I visit. I've only ever been here in the afternoon..(yes, I get started early) usually right after a day of shopping in SoHo. I haven't been disappointed yet! The service is immaculate, and the drinks are delicious! I love the vibe and the high ceilings here. Don't know how it is at night, but definitely love the decoration and the fact that service is great, flipflops or high heels.

I had the pleasure of staying in Soho Grand for fashion week. My favorite drink was the spa it is a cucumber, gin, fresh, yumminess! I also became addicted to the macaroni and cheese!

Overall, overrated. This was a decent spot with bars at either end and pretty ample seating in armchairs and sofas. It was a warm winter night when we went, but the fireplace was roaring so it was a bit uncomfortably hot. The sofas by the fireplace would make for a nice spot on colder nights. Service was pretty slow and spotty. It a while to get our drinks, though we were a fairly large group. The music was OK.
