"This tremendous Indian restaurant in Canoga Park has more than a dozen different types of biryani on their menu, and the truth of the matter is you can’t go wrong with any of them. That said, we really like the chicken 65 dum biryani. Chicken 65 is a spicy, deep-fried chicken dish that was invented at Buhari Hotel in Chennai in 1965 (hence the name), and when mixed with the herb and spice-filled basmati rice, it becomes one of the most well-balanced biryanis in town." - Brant Cox

Great appetizers and very nice biryani! Service was excellent - very courteous and prompt. Food was served very quickly. We would recommend their Apollo Fish, Chicken 65 and Chicken Majestic apps. We also liked the Avakai Chicken biryani and the Bawarchi Special Boneless Chicken biryani. Desserts were also nice. The only con I'd mention - the chicken meat in Majestic app could have been a little better.

Very good place. Do not let the place fool you in how it looks from outside. Good customer service and friendly staff. Great many varieties of South Indian and North Indian dishes. Spiciness can be adjusted per your tastes. Naans are tasty and so are their biryani and curries. Definitely worth the time that we had to drive here all the way from Duarte.

First time trying and wasnt very pleased. I ordered the chicken tikka masala very spicy...and instead i got zero spice. Also the consistency of the masala was not what i was expecting...it was very oily..not a fan. Staff is great though! And the naan was very soft and delicious. But i wish the chicken tikka was Spicier and was not so oily

Excellent authentic Indian food in the valley. Situated just a stone throw from the topanga mall this place serves exquisite Indian dishes very quickly. The vegetarian thali dish complimented with eight side orders including the rice pudding and other vegetable dishes is a bang for a buck.

I highly recommend Grand Bawarchi. We happened to stop by on a whim and boy did we not regret it! We ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, daal, and double ka meeta and literally everything was so delicious! The service was great. Everyone was so courteous and attentive. Overall a great experience. We are definitely coming back and bringing the rest of the family.

1st time going since the recent change of ownership. I’m upset that they didn’t bother to tell me that the chicken no longer comes with rice. So I didn’t find out until I got home. I got the chicken tikka masala, not impressed. Paid 20$ for just naan and a very small amount of chicken. I’m sad because I really liked this place.

The vegetarian options are very good. The paneer biryani was very good. So was the various paneer gravies. The done in experience was usually good. The mango lassi was OK and wouldn't recommend it. Overall, I've always liked the dishes served in the place. The portions are large enough, that sometimes you may pack the remaining as to go for next day. There is ample parking usually. During covid-19 they've been offering some online order discounts.
