The staff have always been incredibly helpful and kind every time I’ve visited. The meat is great quality, I recently tried their jalapeño cheddar brat that changed my life. Their kielbasa and pot pies are also top notch! Very reasonable prices as well. Definitely worth checking out!

I’ve been a lifelong customer of Grand Butchers and have always appreciated their products and service. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed, and I feel I can no longer support this establishment. A few days ago, I purchased a whole chicken, but when I got home, I noticed it was in an unacceptable condition—bloody and, frankly, disgusting. I immediately contacted the store, and a male employee was incredibly polite and accommodating, agreeing to exchange the chicken. The next day, when I went to make the exchange, things took a turn for the worse. A female employee, who I later found out was the manager, appeared noticeably upset as soon as I mentioned the issue. She told me I’d be refunded, but when the male employee reminded her that he had agreed to an exchange, she reluctantly complied. Her attitude was unprofessional, and her frustration was evident as she abruptly grabbed the chicken and tossed it into the trash. While I understand that returned food can’t go back on the shelves, her approach felt dismissive and disrespectful. Feeling unsettled, I called the store afterward to express my concerns about her demeanor. Instead of listening, she became defensive and argumentative. It wasn’t until I reminded her that I’ve been a loyal customer for years that her tone shifted, and she eventually apologized. This experience was disappointing on so many levels. A manager should set the standard for excellent customer service, and I don’t believe her behavior reflects that. After years of supporting this business, I’ve sadly decided not to return. Their loss.

I have been a customer since they came to the neighborhood. I should have posted a review a long time ago. Fantastic butcher shop! Service and product are second to none. We pre-ordered smoked chicken wings for our football tailgate last weekend and they were amazing! Everyone at our party commented on how good they were. Thank you Margie and staff! Well done.. again!

Outstanding! Purchased some boneless skinless chicken breast and some bone in breast. Both were great. They recommend a flat iron steak So I picked one up. God damn! One of the best flavored steaks I have ever eaten.

One of the first butchers we found in Grand Rapids and we love them. They are about quality and I've never been disappointed. Recently made a pork loin, which was amazing. So moist, tender and full of flavor. Their sausage is amazing as are their smoked meats. Check them out, you will be glad.

Great selection, great prices, kind staff! Margie was very helpful over the phone in suggesting different meats I could pick up while doing Whole30. The sugar free bacon has awesome flavor and is thick-cut. Sweet Italian brats are also great and less fatty than something like Johnsonville.

I stopped in to Grand Butchers to look for some steak for my Christmas Eve meal. I was greeted right away and the friendly employee cut me two generous ribeye steaks. It was about $20 per pound, which is certainly better than any restaurant pricing so I was happy. I don't buy a ton of meat so I'm not sure if that pricing is in line with other stores, but I wanted to support this local shop right in my own neighborhood. They had a large selection of other cuts of meat, chicken, and packaged items like crackers, sauces, dips, gifts, and more. I'm definitely coming back to Grand Butchers the next time I need a more special cut of meat. Love the large parking lot and I was in and out in no time.

Went in and asked for a basic cut of meat, 1.5" to 1.75" ribeye. They only sell precut cuts of meat. Pretty misleading for a butcher shop.

I'm so glad I finally came here! Super convenient location for those of us on Michigan Street-- without the stress of parking! They have all cuts of beef, pork and chicken including sausage! They advertise as "grocery" but it's really just add ons to meat. Packets and bottles of seasoning, along with a fair variety of pantry items. They also have an impressive cheese selection which I noticed was less expensive than surrounding businesses. The chicken breasts come in packs of two and I got one pack of regular chicken breasts, one pack of organic chicken breasts, 1 cut of ribeye and one bone-in porterhouse - TBONE. totaling $40. That's close to what I would spend at Meijer. The sales people were very kind, and I know I was doing my part to support local businesses !

An excellent butcher shop. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. They will cut your order to your specifications and can obtain specialty items if you give them a little lead time. Amazingly, if there is anything they cannot get in a timely fashion, they will actually tell you where to get it. Also, the house-made jerky and meat "snack-sticks" are wonderful!

I wish all of you would quit talking about how great this place is. The last thing I need is some kind of long line to get in there. Now, to be clear, I would be willing to wait as this is the best meat/service/selection I have found in years. I do know a lot about meat, love this place, but please keep it to yourself! What the heck, tell everyone!

I've been looking around for some items, so I facebook-messaged Grand Butchers to inquire if they offered what I was looking for. Not only did they respond quickly, they offered their phone number to call and hold items for pick up. Surprisingly, the few other butchers and local farms I contacted did not offer such a quick or helpful response! The extra time spent in responding made me call them for an order, and I picked it up last night. And the price was very reasonable on top of it all! Pro tip- they said if I needed an item and I knew I would be freezing it right away, to call and ask for their frozen cuts instead of their fresh cuts. The pricing is better on their frozen cuts, apparently. Thanks so much for the great service, Grand Butchers!

Great local butcher shop with fine products and service

We get our chicken here - it just tastes so much more flavorful than what we get at the grocery! Nice staff. Kids like the candy by the pound selection. Not too much more than the grocery and way better quality!

The place to stop for quality meats. Great service, helpful staff. Prices are reasonable although a little higher than the grocery stores. Been going there for a couple of years, never had a bad experience.

This is my favorite butcher shop in town. The staff knows their business and are always more than helpful. The quality of their product is always excellent and price is reasonable. A bit higher than Meijer but better quality. We will return often.

My go to place for great meat in Grand Rapids. The honey bbq sticks are must have every time we go. The honey bbq chicken sausages are really good too. I've always been pleased with my purchases and it keeps me coming back.

Love this place. My favorite is their all angus beef hot dogs. I have called ahead and they set them aside for me. You can buy hot dogs at other places. There you get something to eat, at Grand Butcher, you get a meal. Their Chicken Cordon Bleu is awesome. The staff there helpful. I have had to call them with questions on how to cook the cordon Bleu. Very good brats also. Several varieties to choose from. I have them on speed dial b

The best jerky and snack sticks in the area. They also have a fantastic selection of steaks chicken and pork. In addition the people are great and the price is right. Love this place.

This place is a real treat. The staff is so kind and helpful, the location is great and accessible. Their homemade items are fabulous, from chicken pot pie to specialty sausage. They will fulfill any request, trim, cut, and wrap however you like. They stock deli meat without nitrites, and they don't have their meat stacked a foot thick in the display case so their product is always fresh. Please give Grand Butchers a try, support our local small business!!

Convenient location. The meat is fresh. They have a good selection of steaks, pork, chicken and also a fair selection of sausage. Their spicy beef jerky is great. I like that their products don't contain sodium nitrite, which is a carcinogenic preservative that the industry puts in a lot of meats, particularly sausages and jerky. Unlike other nearby butchers, parking is never a problem here at Grand Butchers. If they don't have a product you are looking for, the owner is always willing to help make an accommodation or place a special order. This is the type of flexible service that the big box grocers are lacking. My favorite item here are the Flat Iron steaks. I'm the type of person that likes to go to Meijer for all my grocery needs. However, I make an exception when it comes to my meat. Meijer just can't compete with the friendly service, flexibility, personal attention given to each customer, and the quality of meat.

Went here for the first time and we loved it! The customer service was phenomenal, she (unfortunately, I did not catch her name) showed us around and explained what makes their meat different (it's all locally-sourced, grass-fed, all cut and smoked in-house, it never comes in frozen, etc.). We got some treats for ourselves and for our dogs - we can't wait to try the ribs and steaks we just purchased and we will definitely be back soon!

If I could give six stars I would.The people & service are over the top.Margie is a great woman who cares about her shop & customers.The meats are excellent!I am not jerky eater but one taste out of the smoker & I was converted.I love the selection of stuffed chicken breasts.Price is more than fair & all the work is done for you!Also recommend the pork broilers & flat iron steak.I rarely buy my meat at the supermarket anymore.

Waited in line way too long & then they waited on people who had just walked up. Just lost my business.

They have great bone in Ribeye steaks and pork ribs. Always friendly and professional, no matter how busy they are.

This place is amazing. We stopped in while walking the dog. They had smoked pig ears for dogs which took my dog a good 30 minutes to get through. He walked home the whole way with it in his mouth while trying to lay down on random lawns and eat it. So Rocky gives this place 2 paws up. Everything in there looked fantastic. We got some buffalo blue cheese chicken brats that we just cooked. They were the most flavor we ever had. And there's a ton more options to try. They said they would even make custom brats with whatever we wanted in them. Definitely stop in here.

Love this place. The staff is super helpful and will cut anything special for you and also give you pointers on preparation. Amazing jerky and snack sticks, also loved their Parmesan chicken. Best butcher shop in town!
