"Best Fish Tacos in Toronto: Grand Electric Brace the line ups because this is one of the most popular restaurants in Toronto . It's getting the accolades too: En Route named it one of their ten best restaurants in the country. The premise is simple: tacos, bourbon and loud hip hop and rap music. That said, there's an eclectic Mexican menu from Colin Tooke (ex Black Hoof; Big Star in Chicago ) and Front of House Manager/co-owner Ian McGrenaghan (ex-Black Hoof) that changes regularly. I'm a huge fan of their fish tacos and their key lime vaso. And the best part? The tacos are $3.50 each. It's good quality food that's affordable. The wait has become a bit more manageable due to a back patio (in the summer months). The boys are opening up an extension upstairs as well. It's worth the wait! "Grand Electric, Parkdale by Format. When it first opened, the line-up was three hours long to get a table. Five years later, Grand Electric has become a Parkdale institution. It's a casual place to eat tacos and listen to hip-hop, with delicious food and zippy cocktails. Also check out its sister restaurant, Electric Mud BBQ, nearby on Brock Ave."

"When you walk into Grand Electric and one of the first things you see is a possessed rams head on the wall, you might wonder whether this is some sort of cult front. Thankfully, as long as you like tacos and tequila, there’s no initiation necessary. It’s a small place and they don’t take reservations, so post up at the bar solo or with one other person, talk to the bartenders, and load up on tacos. The ceviche was so good and such a large and generous portion! All of the tacos were also really good... I've mostly enjoyed the cauliflower and mushroom as well as the shrimp. I think both the cauliflower and mushroom could use a bit more spice so don't forget to add some hot sauce! The shrimp was really really good! And my partner really enjoyed the chicken and pork tacos. Staff were really nice and the shop is set up well for covid-19. Only one customer allowed in at a time for pick up, face masks must be worn and are worn by the staff and there is a plastic divider for pickup!

Nice tacos in a very hipster atmosphere. I really enjoyed the fish one that was as tasty as it was nice for the eyes. A good place in the neighborhood to enjoy a quick bite in their patio. It is quite popular so don't be scared to have to wait or reserve your seats in advance ;)

Great taco joint in Toronto! Very small space so wait can be lengthy but worth it. Drinks are on point and the choice of hot sauces on the table is decent. Gotta love the decor to with a huge shark hanging from ceiling as you walk in. Cool exposed inner wall as a bar is a nice touch too.

It is a very small restaurant. They have a nice bar area and a few tables for 2-4 people. They serve a variety of tacos, quesadillas and several kinds of starters. If you look on their blackboard, they have drink specials. Paid parking on the street. Great atmosphere, great food and service! Thank you!

Grand electric has a very social, high energy feel to it, even when the restaurant isn’t full. It’s small but cozy! 5 years ago, I would have rated them an easy 5 star. But unfortunately their food and service is not comparable to current date. By any means, the food and service is not bad at all. It’s still a good place to get some food with your friends! Consistency just seemed to fall off over the years so it is disappointing in that sense only. If you’re in the Parkdale area, give them a try, especially in the summer time.

I really enjoyed the food at Grand Electric and it was the best part of the restaurant. The tacos were great, not huge - not small, they had great flavour with a variety to select from. Would highly recommend the Baja Fish taco along with Kale Caesar salad as my favourite dishes. The seating was a little tight and the dishes can be tough to squeeze on a small table. The waiter that served my table was not having a great day - visibly frustrated and upset, even muttering under her breath as she would walk away from the table. Although I'd point out having been at Grand Electric a few times I would say this is not normal of their service quality. Also recommend sitting at the bar as you'll have more space.

Grand Electric is a great spot for Mexican food. The vibe inside is good- often they play old-school hip-hop! The tacos are good, and the tuna ceviche is excellent. The drinks are also great and it's a fun place to go with friends!

Overrated spot for tacos. Everything is SO SPICY wow. You also can't modify anything, like they can't even hold the cilantro when it's used as a garnish. The tacos themselves are pretty small and quite bland. The fish taco is lettuce heavy. Photos are from take out.
