We chose the, hotel because of its location. But the hotel itself was a high point. Excellent staff, outstanding meals, etc. All you could ask!

The Service at the Grand Hotel was just impeccable. Such nice people, hosting with humour and class that it made the meal a meal to remember. |The food was top class - cooked to perfection and presented in a classy manner - interesting and bold choices on the menu made the meal memorable. The Sommelier was great - knowledgable and guided us to local wines he was proud to recommend (Chinon as it happened). |The Maitre D was just the nicest man - arranging for one if his staff to drive us home in her tiny car two by two as she couldn’t fit us all in when the local taxi company couldn’t pick us up - just above and beyond and stunning hosting.

Large rooms, with separate toilets, a balcony for the superior ones, very good beds; free closed parking; nice bar, excellent restaurant, very professional and nice staff. Perfect location just in front of the Abbaye. Set menus (3) and breakfast just perfect. And as from 2024 a new and larger garden is available.

A perfect small hotel with delightful rooms, beautiful cuisine, friendly staff and a delightful location. Enjoy the peace and quiet and pleasant strolls alongside the river Sarthe. Dogs are welcome too.

stayed one night and found it spotlessly clean, lovely room, staff very helpful. Quiet even though the abbey was across the road. Unfortunately they did not serve dinner on Sunday nights but recommended us to a restaurant down the street where we had great food. Breakfast was very good and we would certainly return if in the area.

Some get lost in translations, some in paradise... searching for a sunny week we ended up in solemnes of all places. The grand hotel is grand by means of location, not by means of Grand hotel. But but but... you will be welcome, have great rooms with good beds and pillows and spacious rooms. Excellent price quality ratio and the restaurant is worth a visit. The abbey at your front door is a gift from heaven. Enjoy!

Went there just needing a bed for the night but was so pleased had booked it. Decor, ambiance, staff, room all really good and looked freshly decorated, when it may not have been but everything keep in good order. And the meal in the restaurant was excellent.
