Solid stay with great facilities, though service feels more towards Hyatt Regency than Grand Hyatt.
Service was efficient but lacked the warmth expected of a Grand Hyatt, perhaps a result of the hotel’s sheer size and volume of guests.
The club lounge is impressively spacious, though the food offerings were rather average. Staff were friendly but not particularly engaging. Wines are served only outside of breakfast hours, and the lounge closes at 10 pm. Honestly, for a destination like Jeju, and the somewhat underwhelming experience of the lounge, we didn’t find the lounge particularly useful.
Rooms are huge with great views, and the overall property is beautifully designed. We loved the unique pool setup: a heated outdoor pool on Level 8 connected to an indoor pool on Level 6 via a dedicated lift. Both are open until 11 pm, which is a nice touch. All facilities feel fresh and well maintained.
Room cleanliness, however, was inconsistent, our housekeeping missed clearing trash placed beside the bin on one occasion. That said, the hotel’s lounge and common areas are spotless, with staff cleaning thoroughly after each guest.
However, the casino carries a strong PRC vibe, which may not appeal to everyone.
Oddly, alternative parking lots were closed off by the hotel, it just made finding parking slots a bit harder and a longer walk to the lobby. For EV drivers, guests were snatching the few remaining chargers in the middle of the carpark, and somehow may not realize there are more chargers at the far end.
The room rates were competitively priced, making it a good value option. Despite some shortcomings, at this price point, it’s still very much a 5 stars experience.
