"The small but luxurious Grand Palace Hotel plays host to elegant restaurant Seasons, as well as to a supremely comfortable adjoining bar which comes packed with antiques and fine artwork – the perfect place to either start or end the night. Seasonal dishes showcase Latvian produce where possible and are themed around the world’s greatest painters. The Michelin Inspectors found the wonderfully lightly smoked trout with béarnaise sauce a joy to eat, as well as the toffee pudding with buttermilk sorbet to finish. The wine list offers some premium bottles at premium prices, and the plush bedrooms come Michelin-recommended too." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

I really enjoyed my stay at the Grand Palace Hotel. The staff at check-in were so gracious and friendly. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. I loved the turn down service in the evenings. The hotel is very close to the cheerful Christmas market. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and in Riga. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to the city.

Finally a hotel that gets it! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and as soon as you enter you feel like a guest and not a customer. There is always someone to help at the reception, and beverages and cookies ready to take. When entering the room we found a hand-written welcome letter, chocolates and other sweets. There were all kind of amenities in the room, a filled mini bar and every evening there is an evening service providing new complementary bottles of water and chocolates. How great is that! Next to that, the room is beautiful, spacious and clean. Last but not least the breakfast, it has everything you need and more. Next to the lovely buffet you can order different egg dishes (even Eggs Benedict) and pancakes. There are always staff walking around to clean your table and take your order. Like I said, finally a hotel that gets it:)) We could not have wished for a better stay just before Christmas!

Great service from all, good comfortable rooms and excellent central location. They already do things for you before you have to ask! We arrived early, left bags with them, and came back later for the room. They had already took bags to our room. On way out our flight was in the evening and we booked the hotel car for airport transfer. We went to reception to get our bags... And they were out waiting for us. Little details make all the difference. The bar made some great tasting cocktails, and reception staff were excellent!! Would recommend to anyone else...

Wonderful hotel right in the centre of old town Riga. Comfortable, well appointed rooms, a well stocked mini bar and all the amenities you would expect. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but enjoyed several excellent cocktails in the lounge. The location is perfect for exploring old town Riga and it's very special Christmas market.

Looking for a winter break for Xmas markets, the Grand Palace in Old Town Riga is the place to be. Unknown to how close it was after my Bolt (basically Uber) ride, walking towards the entrance of the hotel I noticed the Xmas markets were about 150 yards down the beautiful cobbled street. |Everything is local within a 1000m walk from bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. The hotel during my stay was smooth and comfortable from check in to check out, spacious room and bathroom facilities adequate for our stay. Free wifi and cleanliness also very good throughout. Would very return to The Grand Palace.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the old town. ||Staff friendly, warm and extremely helpful. ||The attention to detail in this hotel has made it one of the best hotels my wife and I have stayed in. ||The room was spacious and warm.||The bathroom had a bath and shower above which usually I’m not a fan of but it was perfect.||The Christmas market is around 30 seconds along the cobbled streets from the hotel and the hotel is beautifully decorated for Christmas!||If we return to Riga one day, which I hope we will; then this will be where we stay!

This was our second stay at Grand Palace Hotel in Riga and again - solid 5 stars experience. It is more boutique style place, with cosy style and absolutely amazing staff. Location is yet another nice story, so to speak. It is at the edge of an old town; all the beauties are within 10-20 min walking distance. Love this place, definitely coming back.

Stayed 3 nights in a business King room end November/beginning December.||The hotel is in fabulous position, down a side street just off the main square, well placed for exploring the old town but still in a quiet area. Communications with the hotel before and after booking were very quickly and helpfully responded to (unlike another 5 star in Riga which took 4 days to get back to me with a simple question) and they arranged transport to and from the airport for us. As they therefore knew our arrival time, our room was ready for us to check-in at 1pm, very nice touch. ||The room was quite spacious though the bathroom was a little compact, a smaller sink and wider bath would improve the comfort level! It would have been nice if the bathroom mirror was heated as there was very little bathroom ventilation and the mirror took ages to demist. There were quality toiletries supplied (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash and lotion) but if you have thick/longer hair would suggest you bring your own as it wasn't really adequate for my hair. The hairdryer was one of those fixed to the wall ones that you have to keep your thumb on the button to make it work ugh! They highest setting was too hot to use without burning your scalp and the other setting was more of a gentle breeze rather than a powerful jet to dry hair so was pleased I brought my own. There is a socket in the bathroom near the mirror and also a socket in the bedroom next to a mirror for drying hair. The mattress was on the firm side for me but fine for Mr W. A selection of pillows is already on the bed and there is also a pillow menu in case you want something else. The mini bar has a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks and there is a coffee machine with pods and a kettle with tea bags, no milk though just creamer pots. There is a large umbrella in the room to use and although we didn't have much of a view (overlooked the interior courtyard) the room was quiet even with the windows open and we slept well. The TV is rather strange though, apart from BBC world news, you can only watch Youtube if you fancy a bit of telly! ||Breakfast was a mix of a good continental selection, sparking wine and egg dishes/pancakes cooked to order however the toaster could do with being upgraded, a 2 slot one that takes forever meant some queuing at times! Service was a bit hit and miss at breakfast, used plates were slow to be cleared, drinks orders were slow to arrive and one morning had to be reminded after about 15 minutes when they hadn't turned up. ||We didn't eat in the hotel but did have some afternoon drinks in the lovely bar with great service. We fancied a night cap after returning late one evening but sadly the prevailing smoky atmosphere instantly put us off, such a shame. ||Overall we'd highly recommend a stay here but disappointed we couldn't use the bar in the evening.
