The MICHELIN Guide Latvia 2025: All The Winners

"The small but luxurious Grand Palace Hotel plays host to elegant restaurant Seasons, as well as to a supremely comfortable adjoining bar which comes packed with antiques and fine artwork – the perfect place to either start or end the night. Seasonal dishes showcase Latvian produce where possible and are themed around the world’s greatest painters. The Michelin Inspectors found the wonderfully lightly smoked trout with béarnaise sauce a joy to eat, as well as the toffee pudding with buttermilk sorbet to finish. The wine list offers some premium bottles at premium prices, and the plush bedrooms come Michelin-recommended too." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

The hotel is fantastic, and the staff are highly professional.|We experienced no issues during our three-night stay. It is quiet, in a good location. Also, I appreciated even small details, like not waiting for the elevator. The breakfast was delicious, and the people who worked during breakfast did so very politely and efficiently. |Special thank you to the lady who cleaned our room on the fifth floor; she did an excellent job!|We are very grateful for the service and for making our time so enjoyable and effortless!!||Galina and Joel

This hotel gets an A+ for location just up the street from Dome Square. It is both classic and classy. Perhaps not what you want if you desire modern and trendy. We stayed in fine hotels in Tallinn, Parnu, Jurmala and this was the cheapest and the best. We had a Jr suite king and it was just right for two people - lots of room, couch, table, side tables, desk with chair, dresser with TV, king bed with side tables, walk in closet, bathroom with tub and shower. We will stay here on every trip to Riga.

We stayed in a deluxe twin room. The beds were comfy and the room was quiet with internal courtyard view. The room had tea/coffee making facilities, safe, mini bar fridge, bathrobes and slippers. The bathroom comprised a shower over bath (handheld and rainfall). The room and hotel were very clean, although the Housekeeping turndown service was a little inconsistent. All the hotel staff (reception/bar/breakfast) were all very friendly, helpful and professional. All the usual options at breakfast and also a lovely ‘cook to order’ omelette station. Although smoking is permitted in the hotel bar, it didn’t bother us and the food was very good and we really enjoyed the cocktails! There is also a separate Michelin restaurant, but we didn’t dine there.||The hotel is excellently located to explore Riga on foot. Everything within maximum 20 minutes walk. Small Rimi supermarket and Latvijas Balzams off licence a few minutes walk from hotel as well as plenty of bars and restaurants (try Lido for a genuine Latvian buffet). We did a walking tour on our first morning and would really recommend it and also visited Kemeri National Park and Jurmala, which were both spectacular.||We would thoroughly recommend The Grand Palace Hotel in Riga!

Just spent night one of three here, best hotel since George V in Paris. |Great location, facility is kept immaculate and the staff are just superb. The breakfast is amazing and runs till 11.00 am Sunday. Room is smaller than George V but not cramped and everything is perfect. It’s in the heart of Old Town beside Riga Castle. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Ellen from New York I stayed at the Grand Palace Riga Hotel last week and it was a truly wonderful experience. This hotel has old world charm and first class elegance. Beautiful decor and superb service. Janis and Jondza were particularly helpful and caring during my stay.

Good room, good breakfast, good location but we were amazed that the beautiful bar not only allows smoking but encourages it by selling an extensive range of cigars. This is the only bar and serves good food. However it clearly attracts a smoking clientele. Not good for tourists coming from places like the UK that banned smoking in such places decades ago.

100%, 10*. This is a lovely and charming Hotel in a rather quiter area of Riga's wonderful Old Town. The rooms are in excellent condition and slylish furbished. All team-members of the staff are so nice and helpful. The reception-team always takes the time for a little talk, the restaurant crew for breakfast is at your table on the spot to fulfill your needs right away. The value for money is increadible - if you take the breakfast into concideration the price we payed on their homepage was even too cheap. Highly recommended - there's no better place to stay while being in Riga.

Very good stay here. The hotel is in a great location right in the old town. Our room was a little small but this was absolutely fine for our short stay. Loved the water service and candy in the late afternoon. The bar looked great, but I'm afraid the smell of cigar smoke put us from drinking here. One of the highlights was the guy meeting us when we returned back to the hotel. Unfortunately, I forgot his name, but he had a trainee badge on. He was welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and very friendly. If staying in Riga for a few days, I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
