"Downtown's city central park spans 12 acres and contains multiple performance, garden and intimate play areas across three city blocks stretching from The Music Center to City Hall. Dotted with pink seating, funny signage and encouraging messages for runners on the sidewalks, the overall vibe of the park is casual and hip, and makes for memorable brand messages for a public park. Grand Park in Downtown is a nice, clean place to walk with friends, family, or children. The park consists of several levels, the nature and well-groomed areas are impressive. The special feature is the benches, tables, and chairs in pink. On Christmas Eve, a Christmas tree is set up on the upper level. There are decorative fountains and green lawns. The upper level offers a view of the Civic Centre Mall.

Came on a somewhat rainy day, but still a beautiful park with great views, and plenty of places to relax and take things in. There were some protests going on that day at City Hall, so we watched from a distance.

Its a decent place. We had a good time receiving the new year #2025 at the park. Never done it before and not sure we’ll do it again. The ambience was ok. The music selection was a bit #Terrible! God! It was awful 🤣mostly experimental. Sounded like some folks were definitely on #mushrooms, but we had a good time all on our own anyway. Lol.

This place is amazing. The fountain is in front of the music center and stretches to the east all the way to City Hall. It has Starbucks, kids play ground, dog playground. The park is not connected all the way as it is crossed by at least two streets.

I recently joined the July 4th festival at Grand Park and had a mixed experience, resulting in a 3-star rating. The festival itself was fantastic: I enjoyed the delicious food, vibrant atmosphere, and lively stage shows in front of City Hall. The presence of many security personnel made me feel very safe. However, my experience on other days was quite different. I noticed a significant number of homeless individuals around the park, and it saddened me to see them displaced due to the festival. As someone who recently moved to the US, I’m still learning about the culture and societal complexities here. While Grand Park offers great events and a sense of security during festivals, the daily reality for many people nearby is starkly different. My review reflects this contrast, and I apologize if I’ve misunderstood any aspects of this issue.

Google
Highly recommend this park if you’re living downtown and just need a place to unwind or do some work outside or anything of that nature. I had a great time walking around after work and grabbing coffee at the starbucks. There are many fountains where families often bring their kids to play inside of. Lots of open space for a downtown picnic or just open space to lay out in the sun

Yelp
I have been to multiple concerts at Grand Park and they are all pretty awesome they have everything set up on the stage and they do BIG presentations. I recently went to see Armen Van Buuren (April 4, 2025) at grand Park and the show was blow your mind amazing! There were all kinds of fire things going off and crazy cool effects. There were approximately 20 individual BAR stands, yet right next to one another so that nobody had to wait in a humongous drink line. I had a triple clear-colored (dark liquor makes you sicker" Tequila on the rocks. My Wife doesn't care much for alcohol, so she and I just smoked a bunch of pre-rolled (by us) joints of Birthday Cake. The stage, while still daylight at 7pm - it was so lucky we got there two+ hours late because Armin didn't take the stage until around 9pm. The DJ that opened was actually really good. I loved many of her sets and she was quick on her feet and if she spun a song that didn't fit quite right together, she made right on it right away. Though, I was at the very front and conducting her loudly. Everyone was laughing and it's always a happy feeling when I am able to make people laugh. I loudly renamed DJ First and last name to DJ BUBBLES 9560. The people who got it were bending over laughing and started chanting, "DJ BUBBLES 9560". So many awesome people that are obviously ravers from way back in the late 90s or early 2000s. Those ones gave me so many things because they.said they loved my outfit. When we first entered the VIP line, the female security all complimented me on my makeup, outfit and purple shroom earrings. Some gave me a high five and said, "I have mushrooms on me, come find me after the show.". I actually don't do any drugs and contrary to popular assumption, I never have, but it felt PLUR FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME. Everyone said, "Have a great time" to everyone and pretended to check us, but didn't care what we were bringing in. It felt surreal. I got so many bracelets and candy and charms and stickers for having the "coolest outfit", especially my shoes, jacket, and makeup. Everybody were so nice. Including Armin Van Buuren. Multiple people kept telling or asking me why Armin is looking directly at me. I felt that way, too; and, based on my reaction or lack thereof, he would try some of his best tracks (in opinion of others), but all I wanted was for him to play my favorite song, "Shivers". I remember walking all about San Francisco and Berkeley when I was in College, listening on my headphones, to "Shivers" and its remixes and I could walk so motivated through the entire City in less than half an hour. I graduated in 2005, so, this was in 2001, 2002. I have seen Armin in concert or at raves and music festivals, over 20 times, but this was the best show. When I began to walk out of the VIP section, he said, "Lauren, this is hopefully going to keep you here." Then, he immediately played, "Shivers" and I was so happy. I admit to feeling special. I don't know how he knew me, but it turned out that everyone (they kept asking why he was staring at me) was correct, he was starring at me. After the show, he wanted me to meet up, aloud, to everyone there. So, naturally, we left. A lot of girls were so curious, "When did you first meet him?" To which I replied, "Never.".

Yelp
I enjoyed walking through this 12-acre park in downtown Los Angeles. It is situated right in front of City Hall and has fountains, plazas and the Court of Historic American Flags. This is Los Angeles' version of Central Park. Grand Park is named for Gloria Molina. She was an activist who served on the city council and the board of supervisors. She had a hand in the redevelopment of this park. I enjoyed grabbing a bite to eat and hanging out in this park for a little bit. There are statues and memorials throughout the park. Grand Park hosts numerous events throughout the year.

Yelp
Spanning 12 acres in the civic center area of Los Angeles, the Gloria Molina Grand Park is a collaboration between the city, county, and non-profit, connecting its various physical icons together. It is meant to be THE urban city park of Los Angeles, with space for performances, gardens, and just places to sit down and enjoy the weather in the middle of a city., It is named to honor the deceased county supervisor who helped in the redevelopment of the park. The non-profit Los Angeles Music Center is responsible for the park's upkeep. We've visited the other city parks in Los Angeles, and this is very different. It was very well maintained, almost manicured. The fountain wasn't on when we visited, but could imagine its majesty when fully operating. The park is accessible from both the B and D Metro Lines via Civic Center/Grand Park, but we walked to it from the A and E Metro Lines via the (slightly further away) Grand Ave Arts/Bunker Hill station.

Yelp
Very nice clean spacious park! Came here for R&B festival this past weekend and I was impressed on how clean the park was and enormous. Despite not having a good time at the festival, it was nice and I feel it's good for thousands of people. They have parking one block up that was only 1 $10. I like the park and it can be a fun when coming to a professional event. I will come back to this park for an event for sure! -Marshay D.

Yelp
I enjoy coming to this park when they have events like their Dia De Los Muertos or their Sunday Sessions. I appreciate how the City has made this park beautiful, with a stage for performances, a Starbucks, a water splash (although def not recommended as its recycled water and it advises at your own risk), they even have a little library (but sad to see no books). I follow them on social media and I often see them posting workshops for kids and free yoga and wellness which again is so incredible! I do think upper level of the park feels safer as their are a few unhoused people throughout the park, which at times can feel uncomfortable. Again this park is incredible to a degree but the houseless crisis especially in Los Angeles can make this park an eye sore. Would encourage you to go to any of their events tho, it def feels more communal and safe.

Yelp
Honestly in the downtown part of L.A. there's not a lot of pretty stuff around. It certainly isn't the glamorous part of the city to be sure. Gloria Molina Grand Park is one of the nicer things going on around it. A lot to do such as concerts. This is also a good place for doing nothing or just for hanging. A not so quiet park because it's surrounded by buildings of course. It's a pretty big spacious area though and convenient to get to from anywhere in downtown. The park is divided into sections between 1st Street and Temple. Much of the green space is on the western end. There's a few other things over there like a concert stage and a fountain. Maybe the grass isn't the greenest but it beats concrete. This is also where to access the Metro station. A few homeless like to hang out here. There's not a crap ton but there's some that are on the benches like any park. Best thing about it is there's space in an urban area. It's not the best looking park but it's still mostly okay. There's concerts and other fun things.

Yelp
This park is absolutely beautiful. The weather was a perfect 80 degrees on Sunday. My husband and I walked around this park to get some steps in before the Dodgers game. We also enjoyed resting at a park bench. The park is very clean and safe. I'd definitely come back again.

Yelp
Very nice view and ambience. Not so crowded and right near city hall. Unfortunately, it was crowded this day.

Yelp
I love it here, so much! The architecture in all regards is magnificent. The fountains at night are so beautiful and peaceful. I love coming here with food and just sitting and eating and people watching and listening to the fountains and watching them do their thing :D Truly one of the masterpieces in DTLA. I appreciate this space and enjoy it tremendously. A true treasure :D

Yelp
Gloria Molina Grand Park is a calming green space that connects City Hall to Grand Ave. During sunny and cool days, it feels nice and relaxing to take a stroll on the pathway when coming from Grand Ave. During this spring April day, there were a few cherry trees by the Flag Garden. I wish Los Angeles had more urban green spaces to gather and relax. I automatically think Pershing Square, and in contrast, Gloria Molina Grand Park is immensely more appealing.

Yelp
Beautiful, spacious park IN DTLA. I enjoyed meandering around the garden where the succulents were in full bloom. I noted plenty of (pink) seating with tables. Great place to take a lunch or a picnic during the weekend.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a beautiful park in Downtown Los Angeles that stretches 4 blocks from Grand Ave over to Spring St. Most of the time, this park is well maintained throughout the year. I'm usually only at the end with the Arthur J Will Memorial Fountain where I'll grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks before heading over to the Ahmanson Theatre for a musical.

Yelp
Attended this staple of LA for a R&B kickback and it felt communal, familial and was a nice time. I will say though - if a promoter is upselling a VIP experience, don't be fooled. It's not nearly large enough to provide a true experience that is worth the added cost. There's some shading, not much, but be early to secure a spot as it gets filled fairly quickly and easily.

Yelp
Recently visited Grand Park for their Sunday Sessions: AfroPunk experience on 7/23/23. It was an afternoon of various djs and artists, families on picnic blankets and low back chairs dancing & vibing out to the smooth grooves. There were two food trucks with food available for purchase along with a Ciroc bar activation. The Sunday Sessions experience has a few more music experiences listed for Summer 2023, so check them out. Paid Parking is available nearby in lots along with meters along Hill Street.

Yelp
I'm fascinated at how little foot traffic comes through this grand concourse from City Hall to the LA Music Center. When I think of similar promenades in major European cities, I think about all the people who happily congregate in parks designed just like this one. But not here. LA is a car town where people walk only when forced to and probably not downtown. Frankly the majority of people who appreciate the pedestrian friendliness was the homeless with their shopping carts. They generally kept to themselves, but it seemed a bit of a shame that families weren't taking more advantage of the movable pink furniture, the elaborate play areas, or the interactive water fountains. Honestly it was quite a pristine sight, but it probably says something that I've been coming to LA for decades and that this was my first time walking through it. I've certainly seen it buzzing by in a car like everyone else, but now I know better. Besides I always need the steps. RELATED - Exploring LA? Yelp
My review is for a concert I attended at this venue. Parking: Nearby parking lot is $20, but it was full and got locked 3-4 hours before concert ended. People who parked at the cathedral parking lot got locked out by the time the concert was over. I parked ~15 min away and got an Uber for my group. We're mostly on a grassy area, but the restrooms were set up over paved dirt. They had food trucks and two bars set up. There was a third bar but it didn't serve alcohol. I loved how "spacious" it was. They didn't set up seats, so everyone had to stand. We weren't packed like sardines, unless you were up by the front of the stage. The backdrop behind the stage is a photographable view of the city hall.

Yelp
The Dias De Los Muertos spirits were generous tonight! I was fortunate enough to procure three tickets for the "Centerpiece Gala; Macario" event to watch a movie many consider a masterpiece of the Mexican Cinema. I checked my maps, drove and parked my carriage at the Union Station parking lot. I wanted to experience something "spooky" so I and took the subway (Metro) to Gloria Molina Grand Park. Under a canopy of twinkling stars and city lights, "Macario" was projected to a giant wall on the side of an 8-story building. Macario takes place around the time of the "Day of the Dead" season during the 19th century and stars a peasant named, Macario, who is incessantly hungry because he sacrifices his share of the food so that his wife and children can eat a little bit more. The movie is about Macario's quick rise and fall and the hard lessons to be learned during the journey. The movie projector worked flawlessly, and the sound on the headphones matched perfectly to the voices on the screen. Before the movie, guests were treated to delicious Tortas Ahogadas by Chago, Champurrado, pan dulce and a panel discussion about the historical significance of the movie. Gloria Molina Grand Park was the perfect place to show and watch Macario.

Yelp
Can't believe it's been 4 years since visiting this park. Last time it was for the same event. Grand Park's Día De Los Muertos. It's a great park to come hang out and have lunch or when there are events to visit. There are plenty of areas to sit, can't miss them look for the pink chairs and benches. If you're thirsty there is a Starbucks by the fountain also a BofA atm if you need cash for the coffee. People like to play in the fountain enter at your own risk it's recycled water. Just saying. Watch out for transients and parking garages are nearby for 10 dollars. I had a grand time when visiting this park.

Brian P.

Yelp
It's a beautiful spot on downtown LA. Hadn't been there in years and almost skipped the area entirely until the colors of the banners drew us into the park. We strolled through the park during a sunny afternoon in May and it's beautiful. It's well worth a visit.

Yelp
DO NOT let your children play in the water splash pad at this park. I believe it's a health hazard. I wish someone would've warned me. The homeless issue in DTLA has gotten so bad. I grew up here in LA and it's the worst I've seen it. My children and a few of their friends from preschool had a playdate here recently. While my children and others were playing in the splash pad, a homeless lady laid in the middle of the splash pad and started to take a nap, I guess. Then two other un-housed people showed up and started bathing in the splash pad where kids were playing. As soon as I saw this I took my kids out of the splash pad. However, my mind couldn't help but to spiral into anxiety, wondering how many homeless people do this on a daily and nightly basis. Plus there's a sign that I didn't see at first that says "play in water at your own risk". And an additional three other homeless people seating around the splash pad clearly intoxicated. I can't imagine what goes on at this splash pad late at night while the park is closed. I understand this is a public space but the city should not allow no person especially an adult bath themselves in a place that's meant for children to play. That is a health hazard and I hope none of the children playing in the splash pad, including my own, gets sick. I pay city taxes and I don't feel safe letting my kids play in most of the public parks in LA. They are starting to be over run by homeless people. I will never ever bring my children here again.

Yelp
Meh...... nice to have some open space in downtown but very little shade or grass. Cool fountains and all buy it looks like they spent millions on a pretty basic park. All of the hot pink tables and chairs are kind of off putting to me.
google avatar

Elaine N.

Yelp
I went here around 5pm on a Saturday recently and thought this is a cool park. On the day I went, it was very crowded because there was a large festival with music and tents going on at that time so some areas were closed off. I mostly spent time around the fountain and that was a lot of fun! It seems like a lot of people like to relax by the water fountain since there are tables and chairs to eat some food at. This area was also cool because a lot of people can play and run around in the fountain! It was a hot day that day too, so I was a little tempted to go in that fountain! I'd recommend this place! It's a cool and large park with multiple levels, and they also have a fountain to play in! All of that made it a nice place to relax because of the amount of seating they had too.

Lisa C.

Yelp
First time at this park. I attended the Freestyle Concert and I had such a great time with great music. Invited to go to the VIP section. Hung out and met some really good people.

Yelp
Nice little park. There's pretty good amount of homeless people in this park, which is sad to see. I'm sure it's a nice place to be when there's an event.

Yelp
So peaceful! The waterfall is very relaxing! Haven't been here in over 10 years and it has improved so much did not see past the waterfall! There is a Starbucks!!!!

Yelp
The park has a 12-acre field located in the civic center of DTLA, first developed in late 60's as the mall with plazas, fountains and a court of flags, which is now a part of the larger re-development project over last decade. The park is in-between 1st and temple st, and its west portion of the area, from grand ave to hill st, is generally safe, visit the rest part with caution, further east until broadway and spring.

Chris L.

Yelp
The splash pad is currently cornered off (05/26/24). Normally, the splash pad is normally amazing and would 100% recommend

Yelp
Beautiful park in the middle of the busy city of LA with a humongous fountain that serves as a pool for kids or adults who act like kids to take off their shoes and get their feet wet. But you could only do it at the lowest level of the pool. Don't start planning to bring your swimming trunks or bikini to jump into the top pool; unless of course you're curious to see what the inside of LA jail looks like. I love the strikingly pink tables and chairs scattered around the park. The color was aesthetically complemented by the purple-flowered trees around the park too. It's gorgeous. If you're thirsty after your water adventure, you can visit a Starbucks located in the park.
google avatar

Ann T.

Yelp
Came here at night. It's a pretty sight with the fountain and the lights. There are some Poke'Stops here too and some displays and signs to read. In the middle of the park is a Starbucks as well. You can take a quick walk around it in about 15 minutes just to take a gander at things. It's nice to pass a little time if you are waiting for a show at the Music Center across the street. I noticed that there were a good chunk of homeless meandering around and lots of stray cats. There is security there though!

Yelp
amazing park for kids! the splash pad is the biggest i have seen! the playground is clean and the park is beautiful. shocked to find this downtown. safe and security. only downside is parking was $20

Yelp
Had so much fun with my friends at their "Utopia Sunday Sessions" Event. It's a great, well maintenance park in DTLA. I took an Uber but my friends parked at a parking structure near by. Felt safe and fun!

Yelp
The grand park in DTLA is well worth to visit. You can easily sopt people during lunch hours and during weekends The fountains here are very beautiful and you can click some amazing pictures. There are regular events here so you can enjoy. Even they organise some amazing events during new year with live music, small stalls and amazing people...best of all is that's mist of the events are free. Whether you are coming here for events, walk or to take a great photo you are sure to enjoy the park.

Yelp
This was the absolute worst Fourth Of July ever. The drone show SUCKED SO BAD! You've Failed as AMERICANS! Bring back the fireworks and celebrate like True Americans! I'm so let down! My family is let down and my friends from another country are let down! Big #FAIL! Next year we will plan on going elsewhere. Thumbs Down!

Yelp
Grand Park DTLA is a park close to many municipal buildings: LA City Hall, Court houses, LA police Dept, and city records. This park unavoidable for me when I have meetings in court or the area. However, it's my first time walking through the park, here with Fendi. Apparently we did NOT chose a good day to have a leisurely walk because there were lots of road closures due the current event: 5k walk/run race for Cancer. This is a charitable cause I believe and support and will plan on participating next time. Meanwhile, there is limited walking area for my furbabe Fendi... time to head back. This park is nice and the city attempts to maintain its cleanliness. LA has a big homeless population and some of the transients find refuge on the park benches and throughout this park. For security purposes, I prefer to limit our walk at a distance within the paved pathways. If you can manage to be cautious and enjoy this park's overall layout with the high center fountain and the towering City Hall building its a must visit. There's a closed off gated area for dogs to be off leash, but it's all dirt and my clinically white will just get dirty and dusty, pass for us, but an a nice feature. Best way to see the park is by entering from Grand Ave and you have better peripheral :)

Yelp
Grand park is right in the middle of LA but you could easily miss it for years if they don't have some kind of event going on. I frequent this area but have never went in because I thought it was just a regular park with a playground, tennis courts, etc. The park is huge! They have fountains, starbucks and other little shops and restaurants as well. We only went in the park because we happened to pass by during Christmas and saw the lights and displays. Parking is not the easiest, we had to park a few blocks away but at least it was free. During Christmas, they had art installations and lights everywhere and it was nice to walk around. I would come back if they have other events going on or if I was in the area again and need to kill time.

Yelp
I can't count how many times I've passed by this park, by car or by bus. Way too many times but I never had a chance to check it out. One day I decided to visit the Los Angeles City Hall. Grand Park is just across City Hall so I basically killed two birds with one stone during my visit. The park covers 12 acres of land which is pedestrian friendly. The ground is covered with green lawn and decorated with drought-tolerant plants. Lots of benches, tables and chairs scattered all over the park. There's also a performance lawn for concerts and other activities which are free to the public. There is also a huge fountain and wading pool which unfortunately were closed during my visit due to filming. On the east side of the park, you will find the Court of historic American flags, Vietnam veterans Memorial and Sakura Grove surrounded by cherry blossom trees. On the west side, you will find the statues of Christopher Columbus and George Washington. There's Starbucks on site where you can go for quick bites and drinks. If you needed a restroom, there's one in here and also by the fountain. It feels safe here as they always have security and police around. There are also multiple security cameras around the park. Lots of pay parking lots and metered parking around but there's also convenient commute via bus or train. While it's not as great as the Central Park in New York, or the Millennium Park in Chicago, nor the Balboa Park in San Diego, I consider this as the best park so far in the city of Los Angeles.

Yelp
Grand Park offers a lovely spot of greenery, a perfect place to rest and relax after you're done with whatever brought you to downtown LA. It's even more lovely now that the drought is "over"; the gorgeous fountain is up and running and adds a lovely soothing touch. There's a Starbucks in the middle of the park and water to splash in for the little ones; in other words, it's perfect. Yelp
It's a nice park! It's right next to the courthouse so during lunch time there are food trucks out, which if you're at the courthouse for jury duty I recommend taking advantage of this. Go outside for lunch! There's a Starbucks in the park as well as restrooms which are surprisingly clean considering they're public. There are plenty of tables and chairs and benches for seating both in the shade and in the sun. The park is also a popular place for parents to bring their kids to play in the fountain on hot days. Mind you, there is a sign posted that the water is recycled, so don't let your kids drink it (or pee in it please). There are parking structures available all around the park, some more expensive than others, but not really any street parking. It's a good park to take a meeting if you're like me and would rather work outside than in an office.

Yelp
Terraced park with a stepped walkway down a few blocks. Benches and snack shacks and a Starbucks. Most seats inhabited by homeless. The fountains were coned off and there was drift trash on the lawns. Parks are bisected by streets with busses and traffic. Review: 2.5

Yelp
Came here for the first time to see Christmas lights. The displays this year were actually really interesting and interactive! Great place to walk around with friends and family. It wasn't super convenient for people with strollers or needing ramps. They existed here and there along the walk but you had to really look for it and be willing to stop and carry at times.

Yelp
This is a nice park located near the courthouse in L.A. There's plenty of places to sit and enjoy your lunch. It was a holiday when I was there so it was dead. I hear they have cool events all the time so I'll have to come back. You can also play in the fountain in a hot day.

Yelp
Grand park seems to be the park where most big events are held especially since it's a huge park. I was just here for the la taco festival and the LA Phil picnic was also held here! Both events were fantastic but I will be speaking on behalf of the LA Phil picnic 2017. I checked in at the white tent information booth and they provided me with the essentials I needed--happen to be the wrist band and the food voucher. Walking down the steps and making my way towards the small entrance gate--I asked someone in a red T-shirt (which indicated they were volunteers for the event) could aid me in putting on my wristband. She gladly did so and I made my way inside. I had a small snack but around this time I could go for something to eat. There were about six or seven vendors and ranged from southern food to Italian to a farm to table type of establishment. After about 30 steps or so, my eyes caught a look at the Green truck, which promotes fresh farm--it even has a compartment for compost. The menu was short and sweet. I ordered the Mother Trucker Vegan Burger that was there signature and gluten-free patty, seasonal veggies, beet sauce, and a toasted vegan bun. How they came up with the name I don't know but it was SO good; that beet sauce was something special. I had my meal while listening to music in the background. It made this fast-paced world slow down ever so slightly. There was a water fountain for kids to splash in, face painting, and balloons. Balloons!!! Yes please! I had a rose bracelet made and it fit my wrist just perfectly. I absolutely LOVE picnics and I mean it when I say I enjoyed every moment. Bring a lawn chair/ blanket

Yelp
Visited 7/7/2017 Line dancing/2 step on the Community Terrace!! FUN!!! This is the third year we've done this and it's always a blast. I have to admit though dancing at the Music Center is more spacious. Parking is easy. Cost us $10. Lot closes at midnight. From 7 pm to 11 pm, we got to learn several types of line dancing. The dance floor gets more crowded as the night progresses. We got REALLY hot and sweaty. There were three food trucks. Water cost $2. You might want to bring your own. If you leave your water on the sidelines, don't be surprised if you lose it. There are a few tables and seats near the dance area, but you got to get there early if you want to snag a table. People there were friendly and more than obliging to move over so that you can rest your feet. There were several portapotties. If you decide to go next Friday, there's a DJ. If you go in two weeks, it's bollywood!!!

Yelp
This is a pretty nice park in the heart of the off-downtown government district surrounded by City Hall, some courts, and the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration. it kind of comprises nearly three full city blocks, starting at Grand Ave. on the northwest corner and proceeding through Hill St. and Broadway before culminating on Spring St/City Hall. It's quite a spectacle if you sit in the little enclave between the Music Center and the Mark Taper Forum and look down all the way through the park to the City Hall building. if you're into that kind of thing. the largest section of Grand Park sits directly between the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration and the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, and will be the basis of my review. it is filled with trees, plants, and various shrubs with colorful signs explaining the sort of botanic and horticultural significance of the various flora as well as plaques commemorating random historical events in Los Angeles and American history. actually there's also a statue of Moses with his commandments so I guess it goes Old Testament as well. so it spans quite the ... span of history. mostly though it's a gently sloping park of grass with hot pink metal chairs and tables scattered about, for which tired government employees, lost tourists, confused jurors, and the homeless alike spread out and have a bite to eat or nap on the benches. the homeless haven't exactly set up permanent camp here as they have in other parks, most likely to the very heavy security and Sheriff Department patrols, but they will sit on the benches, pick through the recycling, pick at their feet, and occasionally pull their pants down and start peeing in front of you. however this is a rather rare occurrence. otherwise it's a pretty nice place. the birds chirp, there is a family of feral cats that randomly skitter across the pathways, mediocre food trucks pull in three days a week, and there is weekly yoga in the park, and almost always some after school activity going on with high schoolers practicing modern dance or something on the stage area. it's not a bad place to stroll through on your break and take a break from the stunning monotony and dullness of the grey-walled cubicles just a stone's throw away.

Yelp
My kids and I love coming here. We make a point to go at least to the monthly Sunday Sessions- which is so worth the travel, being that we come from the OC. What they have done over the years to revamp the area is a great move in the right direction. My kids love playing in the water feature. The water is warmer than most other splash pads etc that St have been to- and it's huge! Bonus that there is a Starbucks located right next to it. Also, the park itself has a big slide and a few other features. It may not be the biggest playground ,but it's a cool one. Lastly- love the hot pink chairs spread throughout. This has made seating possible throughout the area. We are thrilled to come here!

Yelp
Grand park is pretty awesome Transportation: I just lyft/uber cause I didn't want the hassle of paying and finding parking although the parking lot across the street is charging only $9 dollars for the whole day The park was nice with a giant water fountain, grassy area and tables and chairs. I had picnic there and it was very nice At night, there were an art festival on the other end of the park and it was very festive! Totally recommend for people who want to have fun on free events

Yelp
I love the park, practically if the metro's door. In Summer you can see many events and festivals. They have a public clean restroom and Starbucks. The fountain is incredible beautiful and fun for kids, even for you! Take a towel and go have fun there as well. It is really nice to eat lunch if you work nearly. Tourists, please, enjoy this part of the city.
