Love this place !! I visited the liquid store and had a fantastic experience! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in guiding me through their wide selection of liquids. Not only did they have a great variety of products, but the quality was exceptional. The store itself was clean and well-organized, making it easy to find what I was looking for. Overall, I highly recommend this liquid store to anyone in search of top-notch products and excellent service!

A store with a wide variety of wines & a full range of spirits at competitive prices. I went in to check on the Greek wine & Tsipouro selections and found them a bit limited ... but found a few pleasant choices! 😊 Service was friendly. 👍

Great store and service. The people there are very friendly and knowledgeable. They don't have the selection that the store had many, many years ago but that was 25 years ago. Some of you may remember that. I just made myself feel very old 😕

This liquor store has an extremely convenient location, right under the 30th Avenue station in Astoria, Queens. Trains N and W stop here. On your way home, or if you are heading to the city, it doesn't matter which occassion is, you are able to drop by and buy whatever you need. Good selection of red and white wines, some of them are on discount, for example you have over there Montepulcano di Abruzzo for $7.99! That's a bargain! Wines are divided by regions and countries: Italy, France, USA, Spain, Chile, Australia, Croatia, Macedonia, any many others. Here you can also find some wines made out of rare grape varieties, like falanghina, vermentino, pecorino...

They are selling Serbian Rakias under label Croatia - Montenegro. So many people, so many times told them to change label and they are refusing!? They have problem to put Serbia ??? It is shame No good stuff and overpriced. Please be aware

Always a great experience making purchases here!! Jamie and Bob are so helpful and have amazing customer service. They do their best to get what you need and have a great selection in-store. Their prices are the best in Astoria. Definitely the best liquor store in the area!

I like this liquor store. I would give a 5 star review, but I think the girl with the short hair is gone! I would like to ask where she is but don't want to look like a stalker. I'm a big wine drinker and she made good suggestions. I'm a very reserved person, and she made me comfortable and always smiled. Not being from the United states I sometimes feel out of place. I hope they get another friendly girl there. I still like the wine though. Good place for wine in area.

My go to liquor shop locally. The staff is friendly and helpful when needed. I love their selection especially for the wine. This is also where I fell in love with Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey! If you haven't tried, pick one up during your next visit.

This place is so odd to me and has changed so much over the years. It's a huge store with bare shelves. The wine variety does not change that much and when I have wine connoisseur friends come around they can't find anything at this store and ask me to take them somewhere else. But my absolute biggest irk is that I can't ever find liquor here. They have the basics, sometimes. Forget about finding mixers- no puckers, no grenadine, no blue curaçao, minimal flavored vodkas. And don't tell me it was an empty week because it's all the time. You can't stock up on your bar supplies here. And forget about Christmas time. If you run in here for a last minute gift for someone's favorite liquor odds are they won't have it. It's always only the oddest bottles left around. The staff will constantly ask if you need help- I took them up on it once....they don't know anything. Actually could not tell me a thing about the wine I was looking for. Listen this is my neighborhood spot, but something is amiss here. Guys please work on getting this store on the level it could be. I'm tired of stopping twice to get what I need. I'm starting to just not even try your store anymore because there never anything there.

The Grand Wine & Liquor is my favorite wine/liquor store and probably the best one in Astoria to purchase Wine & Liquor with a wide variety and reasonable prices. So I started my holiday shopping there today filled with the spirit of Christmastime. My spirits were instantly deflated by the blonde, dirty, unpleasant customer service representative who has zero personality, didn't thank me or wish my a nice day and looked at me as if I had 5 heads when I asked for some holiday bags. This after purchasing some very expensive champagne. I left in a ba -humbug mood. What happened to the cute brunette with the short hair? She always had a smile and went above & beyond to give recommendations. Honestly, you need to put some pleasant and friendly people behind registers. It was what gives The Grand Wine & Liquor its charm.

This is a large well lit space, but the layout is not overcrowded at all, and organized well with a good vibe. The owner is friendly, we had a short conversation, which was positive and knowledgeable in a modest way. The enjoyment of wine begins when you are shopping for it. Found was I was looking for here (was not in stock anywhere else) and picked up another bottle (Cab Sauv) that I am excited to try (once I plan the appropriate pairings). Whiskies and spirits are well priced (I am good for now, but will likely step out to something new once those bottles 'evaporate'). There are several other wine shops between my house and this store, so while I do not meander this way very often, I do put in the effort from time to time for this store.

I love this liquor store, my favorite in Astoria. They have the best wine selection and always have new stuff coming in. Plus their prices are very reasonable. Their employees are always very friendly and helped me pick out a few new bottles last week. I highly recommend checking this store out.

I would not bet recommend this liquor store if you are person of color. The owner of the liquor store is prejudices and when I tried explaining how he could potentially make his customer service better not only did he use profanity towards me but he also charged at me and snatch a bottle of wine that I was attempting to purchase. For a more comfortable experience please use your money elsewhere!

I genuinely cannot express how disturbing it was to watch an interaction with the owner and costumer tonight. A young woman said something to the owner very calmly about making sure they are ID'ing people consistently since she was the only one ID'd at the time. The owner lost it and immediately got red in the face raising his voice about how he won't take any suggestions about how to run HIS BUSINESS and started cursing at her. Then he proceeded to snatch a bottle of wine she was about to pay for out of her hand and said that he wouldn't sell to her. It's disheartening to see someone especially a woman be treated that way in a place of business by the actual owner. Horrifying to think of the type of treatment you could get if you catch him on a bad day. I'm disturbed and will never be back.

I will never be coming back here. The owners (or should I say male and female working at the counter) were not wearing a mask. They were rude to me and gave me strange looks the second I walked in...to make matters worse I caught the man gauking at my daughter staring at her ass. It was actually disgusting. I was so disturbed I went home and called my friend to tell her about it. She knew exactly the man I was talking about and proceeded to tell me they have been racist to her in the past. IDing just her when she is Clearly over 21... meanwhile, a bunch of boys who look like they haven't even hit puberty get their booze no questions asked. Words do not begin to describe how much my stomach is turned after hearing the way this man treated my friend. Get your alcohol literally anywhere else!!!!!!!!!

Really great selection of wines here. They're all in order of location, color, year and they're presented with a clearly marked price and usually have fliers with their "grades", any awards they've won - what notes the wine is made up of, any special brewing techniques, if they're from oak barrels or manufactured another way, and helpful tips to help people select the best wine for their occasion (not that I personally need an occasion to enjoy wine...just sayin'), palette and price point. People that work here genuinely care that you pick a wine that you actually like and will recommend wines for YOU and your taste - not to make a quick buck. For example, I was tempted to buy a $25 dollar Tempranillo when one of their employees suggested I'd be fine with a particular $16 dollar bottle and it was actually really good for a simple movie/cuddle night. They also have more stuff other than wine, but I'll be sure to be back when I need to get my rum, vodka or tequila fix ;-).

Cons: When I first moved to Astoria, I thought this would be my go-to shop for wine. However after a few months I've tried all the wines and feel like I've run out of options of which none became favorites. Their selection is lacking, and I never notice any new wines. The space is pretty big, but the selection so narrow. Half the store is dedicated to Croatian and Greek wines, which no offense are not the wine regions of the world. I wish they added some diversity to their selection and did more research on the tasting preferences of their neighborhood. Pros: They have a great rewards program and the store is conveniently located near the train.

Local liquor/ wine store. Bigger than a shop and easy to get to. Frequent wine/ alcohol tastings which is cool. Prices are reasonable and great big selection of wines, broken down by region. I always buy and try something new. Last new wine- red- by Train, named drops of Jupiter, light full body red, pairs well with a saucy red dish, lasagna maybe. Tonight I'm trying "19 crimes", red, SE Australia. The label on this one looks comical/ cheesy but the taste isn't. Another light red, easy on the palate, good for spring, I'm thinking BBQ chicken and salad. Reminds me of a Pinot noir. I'm sold! I like it. Great suggestion and great selections. Now bring back the rewards card!!

Recently stoped by to check out their selection. Richard the manager gave spot on recommendations based on my tasting preferences. I picked up an inexpensive Portuguese red that was amazing regardless of the price. I also enjoyed an inexpensive red Greek wine he chose. Based on these two bottles, the selection and price point, along with the excellent customer service that was provided, I would recommend this wine shop.

Grand Wine and Liquor is a great shop, always friendly when I'm inside and conveniently installed right by the subway stop. It's also a family-run business and we all sincerely hope that the store and its employees all continue to thrive despite these incredibly hard times.

Ordered my fiancé a celebratory bottle of scotch while he was still taking the online proctored test which unexpectedly ended up taking way longer than I anticipated. The store was great and super helpful in coordinating delivery to make sure it's after he finishes the test. The delivery guy even told me he sat in the car until exactly 8:30 pm just to be sure and called me to ask if he can ring the bell. Awesome service!

Easy to get around, lots of cashiers, and pretty fairly priced. I'm not sure you need much else at the neighborhood liquor store. They seem to always have the champagne I want to buy on display in the front whenever I go in there. Taunting me. Telling me, 'buy me! take me home!' and often I will. See you soon, Grand Wine.

My local go-to liquor store. Great variety in liquor and wine. The shop is small but well organized and employees are always willing to help. They also carry some items that are more difficult to find.

This is definitely at the top of my list for one of the best liquor stores in Astoria. It's central in geography and in terms of selection offers everything you could possibly want for yourself or entertaining. The store is well laid out with everything properly labeled. Competitive pricing and friendly staff all make it a winner. The fact that it's right at the bottom of the stairs to the subway station also make it easy to transport liquor when buying in large quantities for a party

One would think; a liquor store, is a liquor store, is a liquor store... Not the case with Grand Wine & Liquor. This place is stocked to the ceiling with any type of liquor, spirit and wine (with an excellent selection from my parents country of origin, Croatia! Extra star for that haha). I've been to A LOT of liquor stores in Queens and this one is without a doubt, my favorite and a 5 minute walk from my apartment to boot! Late hours are another plus and the staff is really knowledgeable.

I love everything about this store. Great selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff and amazing customer service. I needed help picking out a variety of wine and the staff was so helpful. They even carried my purchase out to my car for me. Definitely my favorite wine and liquor store in Astoria.

I've been going to Grand for a while (sorry, I haven't written until now!). Great location with a great, well priced selection of booze. I can get some nice "interesting" wines (as my partner says) for a great price, handles of great liquor, and even sake and soju. There's a taxi stand out front so parking is a total mess - although we usually manage to find a spot a block or so away. Tip: There is a frequent boozer club, sort of. If you buy big, you will get the blue bag (you can also buy it). It gives you a discount on future purchases when you bring it along. Yasssss!

I've never sought out or really cared for anything when looking for a liquor store besides convenient location and hours. My mother mentioned how much she loved Grand and I decided to stop by since I needed to buy multiple bottles of wine for my daughters teachers (they deal with 26 3 year olds? They need it!). With my little girl in tow we grabbed a cart (the liquor store is big enough to accommodate carts! This already is a plus!) I start seeing brands of wine that I would normally pay about 10 bucks for in my local liquor shop for under $7! Not only were the prices great but the selection was huge. Everyone was friendly. We were greeted by two employees offering help and the cashier was a pleasure. You rarely get customer service like that in this town! Keep doing what your doing Grand. I hear they also have free delivery!

This place is pretty good. They have all the standard liquor and wine selections. It is a large store with the basics and good price points. This is why I give them only 3 stars. This is a no frills store. In today's market I need a store that offers information and the frills. I want to have some descriptions of the some of the wines. Especially the ones that are featured. I don't want to download an app to do this. I don't know if any of their floor staff is knowledgeable because no one has approached me. You lose one star. Every time I go there I pay with my American Express or I try to and I am declined by Management. On the card it has the word "Tavern". It use to be a corporation I use to own and they tell me that we don't sell to bars. I tell them I do not own a Bar and understand the law, but to no avail. The card has sentimental value and I will not change the name on the card. So for this you lose a second star and I take my business else where. I do recommend this store If you want to purchase liquor or wine at reasonable prices in a no frills environment.

Ordered 4 bottles of wine over an hour ago on Drizly and still has not arrived. I will never order from this liquor store ever again. They waste your time and lie when you call. "It's en route."-- I live down the street!!!

The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I recently talked to the owner named Alfred and found he's probably one of the sweetest guys in the city. I'll keep coming back to support good business like them for sure.

This is my first visit here after all the time I had been living in Astoria. They have a wide selection of liquor and seem to be having various things on sale. The store is pretty big on selections too. I was looking at dessert wine (because they had a wonderful 20% off!) and I really needed assistance. This was a gift for my boyfriend's mother so I needed an expert! Charlie guided me towards the petit guiraud sauternes. What a great choice, my boyfriend's mother was surely impressed. Charlie even gift wrapped it for me (:0 Great service, honest staff, decently priced products.

this is not the same grand store as it was in yesteryears. I have not been here in a few years. I was taken back when I entered, less inventory, less shelves of things. now its hard to find what brands one wants. prices are great, workers real nice and helpful. but its just not the same place as it was. more people today drink wine, I don't know why a smaller selection from years back.

I live on Bayside, so every once in a while I tend to trek to this wine store for several reasons: Excellent wine selection for eastern eauropean wines, cheap prices, a solid selection of hard liquor, the staff is knowledgeable, although finding parking to haul my wine home is always a challenge. The greek sectioin of wines is great, sometime you find varietals that are not common in other stores so best be prepared to do your research and ask questions, I like to ask for people that specifically can answer questions about varietal more than to recommend a label. Of course this could sometimes be cumbersome when trying new wines and or vintages that one may not be familiar with. If you dont see something on the shelf, they sometimes can order it, so thats a plus. I wish it was closer to where I live. I believe the store got a make over sometime last year? but they look great now, is kind of like the 2.o version...new and improved Grand Liquors. When I saw the new store, I got scared as I thought it was a completely different business.

Terrible, terrible customer service by the supervisor whose name is "Steve". Hopefully the owner of this business will read my review and know that he has an unprofessional, rude employee working for him. Steve called himself the supervisor, and said "don't come back in here". Simply because I asked the man behind the register if they had cakebread wine. For the size of this liquor store which ideally should be carrying a selection of wines, they didn't have three bottles of red that i asked for. Terrible. Definitely won't be coming back here. So sad, for a business that's been around so long, where my parents used to shop has declined to drastically. Note to management: don't have people working for you who tell your customers not to come back. Thanks Steve, I won't.

Including or covering all units or aspects Based on the above definitions, I'd say this place is properly named. Large and impressive it is, in selection, variety and plain size. Wonderful and pleasing? Well, I am certainly pleased with the merchandise and will sure feel wonderful after I consume it. Generally speaking, I would rank this business above others in the same category. And yes, it covers all units or aspects of boozing: wine, beer, liquor and even some related wares. Grand? I'll say!

I have to hand it to this place. For the space they have they really pack this place solid. It's the biggest liquor and wine store in the area and they have it all. Cheap wine to expensive fine, cheap booze to top shelf. A few things you will find here that are special: Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur (honey jager) -Tastes like pure honey and goes down smooth, before you realize what you have dont, namely 9 shots, you are on the floor Unicum -Liquor made exclusively and imported from Hungary, brewed from 40 different herbs, tastes like 40 different aftertastes -Lastly, a few cabinets of specialty liquors, some of which are a few thousand dollars a bottle. Signature series', special malts, etc. It's like a mini liquor museum. This place is like toys are us for adults.

I just went inside to look around, I didn't buy anything. Once I stepped inside, HOLY SH.....This place is huge. They have a wide variety of wines mostly and liquor. I feel like I need to re-read my wine books before coming back here. They have the wines by regions, from Greece, France, etc. I'm sure that Trader Joe's has the same or even more of a selection, but I haven't been inside Trader Joe's since they've open so I cant compare. Agreed with Michelle P., once an alchy walks in here, it's like a kid in a candy store. I also saw that they have the limited edition of Absolut Brooklyn in this Queens liquor store. It was just funny to me, that they had a few bottles left. I don't know how many they had to begin with but I saw that only one bottle was sold because there were about 3 or 4 bottles left, while there was just one or two bottles left of the other regular Absolut flavors. Are Queens people not a big fan of Brooklyn?? I kid I kid... But I will definitely come back here after I have done my research on wines.

This liquor store fits its name "Grand". The selection is impressive, the prices reasonable, location is convenient for carrying back heavy bags of wine and liquor, and of course the result of a trip to this store is a grand party at your apartment. They have something for every type of drinker. They have pre-made fruity concoctions, for guests that crave the tropics or just desire something sweet. They have Skinny Girl margs for the vain people watching their figure while drinking. They have a vast selection of hard liquor for those seeking a more intense night, and of course they have a great selection of wine for your favorite wino. The most discriminating wine connoisseur will find something and the not so discriminating...they have jumbo bottles of wine for you.

Their wine is fine but an experience with an employee left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm an Asian patron, and one of the cashiers took that as invitation to speak Chinese to me, unsolicited. Tip to the store as I'd think you serve a pretty diverse client base in Astoria. Encourage your employees not to assume the ethnicity of your patrons in such a Neolithic way and also not to presume that non-white patrons want to be singled out in this fashion.

It's beyond convenient, being steps from the 30th ave subway stop. Their wine selection is huuuuge. Big bright store. They have tastings going on all the time. Friendly counter girls but not really anyone walking around asking you if you need help (which is fine by me, since I typically can find what I'm looking for). They close a little earlier than Absolute Wine & Spirits a few blocks away and I think they might be slightly pricier. Or perhaps it's their lack of cheaper priced wines. Either way, their location proximity evens that out for me.

What's not to love about this liquor store? It is one of the largest ones in Astoria. The selection is extensive. The store is always well organized and stocked with their products. I'm a big wine drinker and I don't stick to one particular type or kind. I like to try something new every time I make a trip to the liquor store. The staff and management are extremely helpful with finding specific wines and even offered to order a wine they didn't have that I was looking for. The store gets crowded around the holidays, but the cashiers are quick and efficient in making sure the line moves quickly. Located right off the N/Q subway, staff is helpful and competent, sections are organized and choices are endless.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this place is lacking for me. Sure, it's convenient, but I just can't seem to navigate their wine stock. The staff is nice enough, but I haven't found them to be particularly helpful with recommendations. Well-priced Jameson, however.

What strikes me about this place is how unassuming it is from the outside, then how huge it is once you walk in. Seriously, HUGE! With a great selection of wine and liquor. They also have competitive pricing to rival and beat any other business in the area. Nay, in any of the borough's of NYC. I love the simplicity of local wine shops when I need to pick-up a bottle for dinner, or do an extensive tasting. But for the right choice, when hosting many friends, buy in bulk here.

Grand WIne & Liquor is a pretty large store. I've never walked side-by-side with someone in any of the aisles because they're a tiny bit narrow (to make room for ALL the WINE/LIQUOR/SHOESHINE/ETC). I've been here on weekend nights where the store is bustling and they offer samples of some of their offerings. They always hit it out of the ballpark with these samples and I usually end up buying whatever it is I taste. I've always found what I needed here, and the staff is always friendly. I can't imagine buying my stuff anywhere else.

Great place to buy vino when you're on the go. They have a great selection categorized by countries. I'm not a wine connoisseur, so I just picked the cheapest Pino Grigio (Santa Marina). It made a great addition to our lovely Italian dinner; I was satisfied.

I will confess.. I am a wino on occasion. Walking into this wine and liquor store set my heart beating 50miles a minute. This is a no ritz looking wine (heavier handed in a wine selection) and liquor but the selection is impressive. I have been here several times and the staff is always super friendly. They always have promotions going on. Like this month has a "show your metro card for 10% off" sale.

I thought I'd update my review from a couple of years ago. Since then I've been back a number of times and have seen gradual improvements, including in pricing -- which isn't the lowest around but is competitive. They've reduced the inventory significantly, which has made the store feel very spacious and less cluttered.

It looks like they have a great liquor selection as well but I personally have only purchased wine from here. They have an amazing selection that is separated by country, many of the wine selections here you often don't see at other wine stores here in NYC (Bully Hill being one). Prices are releatively on the average for NYC. The problem with this place is customer service, as in, it does not exist. You come in, pick out what you want and goto the counter. The counter is often being ran by younger looking European women who often are mid-text as they ring you up and don't even so much give you eye contact throughout the entire process...you are lucky to hear two words from them. Pros: Great large selections, though half of the store is more euro selection.. Cons: Non-existant customer service, not bad, it just does not exist.

I was looking to get a variety of wine bottles as a gift and desperately needed some help. One of the guys at the store was so helpful. We literally took a cart, walked down each aisle together and he helped me together a very nice assortment of different wines. Recently, needing to order liquor for our company Christmas party, they were the only ones that would accept payment for our purchase ahead of time and get it ready for us. Overall, my first choice for our liquor needs.

Grand Wine and Liquor always has what I'm looking for. They've also been more than willing to order / take suggestions for any additional wines or liquor I may want. The staff is always very knowledgable and they have a HUGE selection. They're probably the biggest I'd say in Astoria. I'm a huge Australian and New Zealand wine guy, so GWL is definitely the place to visit if you're like me! They're even open late for those last minute party / house warming gifts. Overall, I've been going here for almost two years now and I highly recommend them for their selection and competitive prices. Don't forget to flash your Metro Card as well, and automatically receive 10% off your purchase! No minimum spend required either. This place rocks!
