Nice and quick service. Very well made eggs and home fries for brunch - Irish eggs Benedict! Would like to return to try the regular menu. Kids menu was a big hit for our little one.

Excellent Irish-American restaurant on Roosevelt Island. I got the fish and chips and it's some of the best fried fish I've ever had. The fries were good, but nothing to write home about. Service was fine, but I felt like we could've been checked on a little more.

A pretty solid restaurant offering English homestlye dishes. I tried the fish and chips and loved it, very well breaded. Service was quick and nice and their own beer was good as well.

Granny Annie’s Bar & Kitchen is a superb restaurant that offers guests great service, delicious American & Irish entrees and is a must visit destination on Roosevelt Island, located in Manhattan, New York. In January of 2024, I brought and treated my wife and I for dinner at Granny Annie’s and we very much enjoyed our time dining there. We were kindly welcomed by the restaurant’s staff, promptly provided with a table, and our server, Richard did a great job on taking our orders and explaining the menu options. Both my wife and I were very impressed with the restaurant’s clean and polished surroundings, and lively ambiance. In addition to the great service and atmosphere, both my wife and I found our meals to be quite tasty and delicious. My wife ordered and enjoyed her salmon based entree while I ordered and loved my turkey sandwich meal!!! If you are looking to visit and dine at a restaurant on Roosevelt Island, then look further than Granny Annie’s Bar & Kitchen. You’ll have a great dining experience!!!

Wonderfully cozy yet spacious place on New York's scenic Roosevelt Island. A neighborhood spot with a reasonable dash of tourists (that’s never overbearing). The noise volume is perfect for conversations. Excellent customer service, especially by bartender Carlos V, who is kind, attentive and friendly, yet has uncanny tact and discretion for allowing you to chill out in silence or be chatty. Perfect spot for working remotely at the bar, watching a game or socializing. Also has lovely outdoor space with view of the East River and Manhattan.

Went here for brunch. Good coffee and Mexican Omelette. With chorizo, black bean salsa, Chipotle aioli and topped with sour cream. Quite delicious! Potato & Leek Soup was very satisfying & comforting.

It was a beautiful restaurant. Our group of 6x did not like our seat, they moved us right away with no problem. The food arrived quickly and it was DELICIOUS.

Everything I ordered was perfect! Ordered loaded potato, chicken pot pie and bow carbonara pasta (as much as I remember the name), everything was perfect specially the pasta was on top.. definitely recommend !

This is such a cute restaurant that's conveniently located right by the tram and subway at Roosevelt Island. The decor is cozy with whimsical items that reminds you of a fictional granny's house. I've been here twice, once for drinks and brunch. The service was friendly both times, this seems to be a regular spot for people who live on the island. For brunch, I ordered the farmer's omelet special with home fries. The omelet was delicious and the home fries were cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the fish and chips and he really enjoyed it. Drinks were also good and not watered down. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're visiting Roosevelt Island.

Made my way over to Roosevelt island for the first time and wanted a nice late lunch. Stopped into granny Annie's and immediately like it. The service was VERY friendly and kind. The restaurant is cute and cozy. Now to the burger - if I ever go back I would get it again. It was so good! The fries also were so good with I think house made mayo! There was a couple other items on the menu I was eying up, I felt the menu was good! If you are in the area definitely give it a try!

Food was good but nothing that blows you away. My only complaint is they don't have fresh squeezed orange juice, I didn't like whatever she gave me.

It's such a cute brunch spot on Roosevelt Island. On a rainy day, we headed here to grab some brunch. We had the Granny Annie's Irish Ale battered fish & chips along with the Mexican omelet and home fries. The hot chocolate was decent. However, the coffee was not good. It tasted like the pot was just recycled with weak watered-down coffee without any flavor. I'm not sure what happened there, but I just ordered a second hot chocolate instead. The fish and chips were solid, and a generous portion plus the Mexican omelet was filling. Overall, they had good customer service and a cute, quiet place to enjoy brunch. They just need to work on their coffee.

My first visit to Roosevelt Island as a "tourist". After visiting the park at the southern tip, we went to Main Street for some food. We came upon Granny's and dinner outdoors. It was a breezy day but not too cold. Service was quick. For two people, we got the signature burger and buffalo chicken wings. The burger was decent, medium well with tomatoes, red onion, BBQ sauce, and cheese. When we ordered the buffalo wings, they asked if we wanted medium or hot. We got the hot version but it was mild at best. It's an overall decent place for a midday meal. I'd like to try the shepherd pie next time.

Excellent food. Mix up With initial order getting in but the manager was amazing. She took care of the issue and the rest of the service and meal was excellent. Large portions and quality meals at very reasonable prices. Lots of screens for sports and played good music at just the right volume . I highly recommend and will be back. Thanks

My family and I stopped here on our way back to NYC after taking the tram onto Roosevelt Island earlier in the day. The restaurant is large with plenty of inside and outside seating. We were seated promptly by the hostess, but waited an exceptionally long time for our server to come to the table. There were not many people in the restaurant, so we were not sure why there was such a long delay. Our server was friendly enough, but we didn't see her much. Again, we are not sure why there was a time delay. There may have been a large party sitting somewhere else. We ordered potato skins, fish and chips, and a burger. The burger was good and the potato skins were average. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was over-battered. It was just very thick and doughy. The fries were the worst part of the meal. Both my fries (with the fish) and my husband's fries (with the burger) were undercooked and soggy. They tasted like frozen fries that were baked in an oven, but taken out too early because you're so hungry you need to eat that second, but then you regret it because they are not cooked through. I was just visiting, so the chances are unlikely that I would ever return anyway. But if I do return, I'll be skipping this place.

Granny Annie's was the setting for a post wedding brunch following our daughter's wedding. Sean and his staff were AMAZING and even allowed us to choose our own menu. The food was delicious and the service and attention was excellent . Granny Annie's is a wonderful place for a party or get together as we had 60 guests who left well fed and happy! We would highly recommend this fine Irish Pub, and from us Bostonians, this is quite the compliment ! Jean and Kevin McNamara

Good food and drinks selection. Reasonably priced. Quality live music. Really family friendly.

First of all, what a beautiful island, especially during the only season compatible with being a human person.  This place is very conveniently located next to the train station where it inconveniently takes ten thousand rotating steps of escalator to bring you up to island level. The outdoor seating overlooks large patches of grass and bush, and made me feel like I was in a small town in New Hampshire or Upstate New York -- places where Main Street should be called The Only Street. It was perfect for those who hate wind, bugs, heat, or cold, but do enjoy fresh air. Everything we ordered had potato: baked, mashed, and souped. It's very hard to resist a Potato & Leek soup or a Shepherd's pie at an Irish pub, even when there's a brunch menu available. This was a tough one. I made a last minute decision not to get the Irish breakfast and a last second decision not to get the Fish & Chips. Instead, I got a seared salmon with vegetables and mashed potato, but thought about those Fish & Chips the whole time. The salmon was crisp and seasoned with delicious capers. It made me feel like I made a healthy decision, but darn, the fomo. I will simply have to come back.

Took a really long time for the food. Ordered a virgin mojito & it was literally a lemonade soda. No muddled mint or anything. Rip off for $13 Don't put mojito as a Mocktail if you aren't going to take the time to make it properly!

This bar is located on Roosevelt island and I have actually came to this spot twice since I did enjoy my experience the first time. The first time I just stopped by for a drink at the bar and enjoyed a margarita with my family. The margarita was decent. The second time I came with my family which was a party of 15 people. They were able to seat us all in their outside dining area. I ordered a espresso martini which was very watered down which I drank anyway. To eat I ordered Buffalo wings which were quite delicious, the sauce was the perfect amount of spicy and the chicken wings were well cooked. I also ordered mozzarella sticks which were delicious and I liked their marina sauce. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita and sadly it was also watered down. This time I had to complain and they gave me a strawberry margarita on the rocks, it was much better. The service was ok, the server could have been a bit friendlier.

Service fast, coffee and food good, reasonable priced, ppl nice. We got the farmers omelet and avocado toast for brunch to energize our urban hike from Roosevelt Island, across the Roosevelt Bridge along Vernon to Dumbo.

We loved this spot! It has such a relaxed, neighborhood feel and is not your typical NYC restaurant. The staff was so attentive and relaxed and took wonderful care of us. And the food was great! It's home style comfort food (as the name implies) done well!

Must try Irish curry!! Delish!! Also the tea service was so fun. Patio outside was really nice.

Don't get me wrong there is not a lot of choices on Roosevelt island we wanted to go to nisi but didn't make time to go and this place caught our eye. Since it was St Patrick's day we decided to just go the manager was super nice possibly the only person who actually checked in and we ordered 4 dishes and 4 drinks for a total of $117 and I find that to be a bit much for 4 people taking a trip to Roosevelt island. In addition the food was pretty good the French toast is bomb moist and soft sweet with whip cream and fruit. The ceased salad was just an ordinary salad so not much to excpect. But the salad with the chicken was pretty good juicy perfectly cooked chicken.But this is where it started to go down hill the bar and when you enter fine but we go into some room that was super old and to dark and a little run down. Finally the SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE they forgot two dishes we only gave 10 percent because he wasn't even nice. And he didn't know what he was doing AT ALL he thought I ordered French fries as a main dish and I was super hungry while everyone else got their food. So overall if you are looking for bad service on Roosevelt island and honestly pretty mid tier food and oh I didn't even emention the Mac and cheese it felt like it was homemade but just wasn't at the point of where you waste $13 on a tiny bowl of Mac and cheese. So yeah the foods alright but there is way better options on Roosevelt island.

My friend and I came to Roosevelt Island and scouted out places to eat and drink. We decided on Granny Annie's due to their nice menu and fair pricing. We were so happy we did! The service was so friendly, the drinks were refreshing and hit the spot, and the food was so delicious and generously portioned. I wish I had taken pictures of how big and delicious the food was, but we couldn't wait to eat it - we were hungry, and got hungrier once the food came out! The servers also helped us make decisions based on our food preferences/restrictions, which was nice. We sat outside because it was nice weather and we loved the plants they had set up. The inside was really nice too, with tvs set up and you wouldn't feel like you're sitting on top of the people next to you. My only caveat is that I wish they had alternatives for the pork options (like turkey bacon, turkey sausage, etc). I would definitely come back here!

Food is fine. Horrible service from start to finish. No one came to seat us when we enter, the waiters were at the counter doing nothing until I asked twice to be seated. We waited for half an hour until we can finally place our order despite having asked to order. Waiting for the food is the same horrendous experience. It took over 40minutes for our food to arrive and one dish is still missing. It ONLY came after we asked for it. The onion rings didn't arrive even after all the food were finished and it took another ten minutes ONLY AFTER we asked for it. The waiter put the onion rings on the house and that's a nice gesture. Still, service can improve.

Stopped in for brunch after doing some exploring of Roosevelt Island and was thrilled to stumble upon this gem. The decor is great, wait staff wonderful, and food delicious. I had French toast while my friend had a breakfast burrito and both were phenomenal. Definitely worth stopping in and priced really well too! If I find myself back on Roosevelt Island, I'll definitely be back here!

So middling. Not bad, but entirely boring and average and they can't do simple things like keep the bathrooms stocked with soap, etc.

Atmosphere, service, music was great for a casual and fast dinner/bites. Food was ok, nothing special. (Many other options still to taste). Guess is what you expect in this type of restaurante/bars. Next time I will try the specialities. Price: $30 per person

Stopped in for a bite while exploring Roosevelt Island. Went on a Sunday around 2pm and was seated immediately. I ordered from their brunch menu. I ordered the Hangover Burger $20 and had an Old Fashion with Bourbon $13. The burger was delicious and the drink was well made. It was quiet and cozy with friendly, smiling, and attentive staff. Beautiful interior with a long gorgeous bar and table and booth seating. It was a relaxing experience. They do have outdoor covered eating at the time that I went if you have your pup with you. The place was clean and warm with nice music playing in the background. Not loud at all. There were families there and groups of friends catching up. I sat, ate, and read about the very interesting history of Roosevelt Island and was not rushed at all. Very satisfied with the food and the overall experience.

Amazing food, drink and service! Got the Granny's gin and tonic teapot, Irish curry cheese fries, bangers and mash and fish and chips. Absolutely delicious!

Yeah, it ain't cheap... but the food is good, and the service is super (I can't understand the complaints!) I had a vague reservation for 5... I called, and there was no penalty for cancellations or more or less than reserved. (Unlike other places) I arrived early, saved a large booth for the crew, and the staff was happy to let me have a beer (delicious Sam Adams Winter) while I waited for people to dribble in. The menu is Irish... Irish curry, bangers and mash, chicken pot pie, shepherds pie, etc. All good, all brought out quickly. There was frequent "Is everything okay?" checking. and one waitress agreed to replace one of us (camera shy) in the group photo. There aren't many places to eat out on Roosevelt Island. This should be on the top of your list. (The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars, is those places need an up-vote by every member of the group. This time, 2 members left town and couldn't vote!)

I wouldn't bother. Not worth the trip. Other places less pretentious and cheaper. Much better places in queens and the city.

Food and drinks were great! The manager was super accommodating in getting our large group everything we needed. Can't wait to return!

RI doesn't have that many food options so this place is probably the best one you can find considering it's the only diner on island. We finally decided to give it a try. Our server was attentive and energetic. All brunch items come with complimentary mimosa or Bloody Mary. However, I didn't feel like drinking so I asked for a coffee instead. But she said they don't do that which makes no sense. Coffee is way cheaper than alcohol. The Irish breakfast was okay. Bloody Mary didn't do it for me. Just a mediocre diner in the neighborhood for you to go to when you don't feel like going out to town. Gets the job done.

Everything is so delicious and everyone is so kind, nice. Specially, bartender Usular is very cool and nice! Great interior design! I will try tea pot cocktail one day. Bowtie pasta, hand-cut french fries became my favorite! Yummmm

I was at Grannies Annie's on Friday, April 15th. I was enjoying myself until I went to the ladies room and encountered the manager yelling at the server. She asked him a question and he got very aggressive and yelled at her in front of the customers and staff. It made me uncomfortable and I did not appreciate that behavior. Overall I will give it one more try but if this is not a one off I will not dine or drink at Grannies Annie's again.

Restaurant on Roosevelt Island more like a diner. It's actually good location on the island and spacious and nice inside. Food is tasteless and poorly executed. Service even worst very unhelpful and not caring for customers or any concerns.

I am always wary of restaurants in Manhattan for fear of quality and quantity being low, especially in touristy areas. But boy is this place fantastic!! The food is just deliciously comfort homely food, with outstanding friendly service. It truly made me and my group of friends feel like we were at home at Grandma's! Filling portion sizes and fair prices for NYC. Plus the decor is a festive atmosphere, with lovely views of the island and park all around. What a gem right in the middle! And to think we just stumbled upon it by accident. I'd gladly go again.

The food here was really good but we had some weird experiences with our drinks. We ordered an espresso martini which was disappointing. A few of our draft beers were very flat and we ordered a handful of budweisers which were all months past expiration (still drank em tho). Tbh i'd go back but only cause there isn't many choices on Roosevelt Island. Again, the apps we got were very good

(Would give 3.5 stars if able) Stopped by the other week for a quick bite with the wife and to check the place out. I used to love the happy hour at the precious bar/grill in this location and was hoping this place would take its place. I went with the fish and chips while the wife had the chicken sandwich. We both agreed the food was good (she gave it higher remarks than I did) but the prices are really what turned me off somewhat to the place. The first thing that caught my eye was a side of fries was $7! In glancing over the rest of the menu most sandwiches were in the neighborhood of $14-$17 each which again for a neighborhood grill is pricey. I did not notice if they had happy hour pricing but must admit if I was looking for a decent priced beer and some wings some afternoon I am not sure this would be my first choice.

Overpriced tourist trap. Would be more useful as a parking lot. A star for the food being ok and the ambiance being good. Service, speed, and costs leave a lot to be desired.

We love Granny Annie's. We live in the neighborhood and probably go there 4-6 times a month. Their food is very consistent and tasty. We also love the comfortable feel of the restaurant.

Do you ever feel that vendors on the island "nickel and dime" you? Today We got burgers to go at granny's and not only did I encountered a 10%+ increase in the price ($15 in mid 2022; $17 current price listed online; and $19 actual price at check out) - I get the price increase due to inflation, but in addition, they charge for condiments and the orders were inconsistent - some with pickles some without. The manager was very unpleasant and unapologetic. I'm just saying, learn to treat a customer and a member of the commmunity. Food was solid though - taste wise and portion size.

Great service and quaint atmosphere. They had a live acoustic guitarist play the night i was there. Got some light bites and a nice cocktail. Food was fresh and flavorful.

Great bar on Roosevelt Island, easy access beside all transportation! We shared appetizers and I warmed up with the hot mulled cider, definitely recommend it, great service from Angie

Best place I've been to since the Panademic all of the dishes are awesome have tried serveral items not a one has been bad all excellent. The bartenders and wait staff are awesome!!! Great place to go especially on Saturday and Sunday for Brunch!!!

[From a visit on September 22, 2021] We stumbled upon Granny Annies Bar & Kitchen exploring Roosevelt Island, so glad we did. We sat at the bar with James and had an incredible experience. The bar is well-stocked, clean, and quite comfortable. James gave us advice on places to explore on the island and suggested their Sliders as a snack with our drinks. Folks, their sliders are FANTASTIC! They had a great beer lineup and James turned me onto a local draft beer which was fantastic. Appreciate the location, the food, and most of all James for his kindness. If you are in NYC and want to have some good food and drink with a kind, down-to-earth bartender, on a hidden gem of an island in NYC, visit James at Granny Anna's, you won't be disappointed.

I will never be returning to Granny Annie's. Why? Not because of the food (food is pretty decent). Not because of the ambiance (ambiance is fine). But because the server Anna literally just tried to SCAM ME. Anna has done my family and I dirty a number of times. She once charged us for a double order and we didn't find out until we got home, but we let that slide. What I cannot let slide was her deliberate attempt to LEAVE HERSELF A TIP without my consent. When we went to pick up food, she charged my card and quickly tapped the screen when it came to the tip screen, thinking I wouldn't notice. When I stepped out of the restaurant, I checked the receipt because I thought she tapped the screen really quickly, and I saw SHE LEFT HERSELF A 10$ TIP. When I went in to tell her she left herself a tip without telling me (I'm all for tipping servers, but not without my consent...), she lied and tried telling me she couldn't refund my card. When I asked for cash to refund me, she tried saying the restaurant doesn't have cash? Not sure how dumb she thought I looked to believe that. Eventually, I asked her to call over her manager, who told her it was a simple change (just turn the tip amount to $0) -- what a surprise, it was so simple! Never before have I tried to be actively scammed like this lol. Will NEVER be returning and would recommend that all customers stay away until Anna gets some serious customer service training. Or at least "don't scam your customers" training.

I appreciate that they went all out for Halloween. The waitress that served me had skeleton makeup on, that's dedication right there. I tried the Egg and Chorizo Tacos during brunch. Really tasty! Would recommend.

This restaurant instantly became #1 for my boyfriend and me! We moved to Roosevelt Island about a month ago and literally went to Granny Annie's 5 times in a week... we even brought our visitors there too. I've tried different entrees every time and loved them all; the steak sandwich was probably my favorite. My boyfriend is the unofficial ambassador for their fried chicken sandwich, it's that good! This place is by far our favorite restaurant on the island, and I can't wait to continue trying new things on the menu as I can imagine it all tastes great. Service is great, lots of seating, and fair prices too. You can't go wrong with this place!

I was in a party of 3. We all got burgers. They were delicious. We shared an apple tart dessert which was just okay. Our server was terrific. We ate outside, but we all used the restroom which was very clean.
