The Best Coffee Shops & Cafes In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"This sunny, family-owned coffee shop in Back Of The Yards is great for some horchata latte-fueled work, a catch-up with a friend, or an interaction with a barista who’ll treat you like an instant regular. There’s a variety of pastries too, because Grano is a panaderia that bakes everything in-house. Get a Mexican hot chocolate donut and a piping hot cup of sweet cafe de olla to make that spreadsheet wrangling a little more tolerable." - adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru

Grano Panadería y Café - Review - Back of the Yards - Chicago - The Infatuation

"This family-owned coffee shop and panaderia bakes everything in-house, from cinnamon buns and cookies to Mexican pan dulce and fluffy bolillos perfect for your next torta-making night. But one of the best things at this Back Of The Yards cafe is the Mexican hot chocolate donut. It has a thick layer of slightly spicy frosting, and it’s only made better by a piping hot cup of sweet cafe de olla. Get the two together and catch up with some friends here, avoiding the work you could also finish in Grano’s sunny space." - Veda Kilaru

This cafe is light and airy. I will definitely come back for a latte with friends or a place to get work done. I found street parking with no problem. The batistas were welcoming and helpful. I ordered a horchata chai latte with oatmilk. It was spicy and flavorful. I'm planning my repeat visit!

This may just be my new favorite cafe. Not only was the customer service amazing, so was the baked treats and drinks. I look forward to seeing God bless this business. Thank you for a great first experience.

This cafe has a lot of options for pastries and even more options for customizing your drink! Enjoyed a delicious sandwich- milanesa de pollo. Highly recommend. I liked the double chocolate muffin, it tasted homemade and was the perfect amount of sweetness (not overly sweet). The cold foam is foamy & fluffy & so good. I was even given a large cup so I still got about 16oz of coffee and room for my cold foam 😍 very clean inside as well!

Second time here and it did not disappoint. Best Cold Brew in Back of the Yards

Croissant is ok. Could be improved. Bought a cappuccino but it was more like a coffee with milk. Not that strong coffee flavor of a cappuccino. Paid $6.00 for cappuccino and got a $2.50 coffee with milk. Don’t have the proper coffee maker or employee doesn’t know how to work with coffee. Nice people

Seriously amazing local spot, the owner is very kind and has an amazing story. All the pan dulce is made fresh in house along with everything that goes into your coffee. Will always be a favorite spot of mine.

We went on a Sunday morning and had a nice experience. Gorgeous space, nicely decorated. I had the iced cafe de olla and it was perfect, strong but smooth. The chicken milanesa sandwich had great flavor and large portion for the price. Service was friendly as well. I’d love to come back!

I wanted to try this place but it was ehhhh , I liked the choco frappe it was like a banana chocolate shake so it gave me nostalgia from when I was a kid , the bread was also good and fresh , but the breakfast sandwich didn't list cheese on the description ... so when the lady asked my sister if she wanted everything she said yes , but when we got our order ... the sandwich had cheese so be aware of that , my sister ended up only eating the bottom half of the sandwich the cheese hadn't touched , also the hot cofee was spilling. The lid seemed to be close but it still kept leaking at the rim when you drank from it
