"The chefs behind Travail Kitchen and Amusements have turned to their star-powered Rolodex, giving the 14,000-square-foot Graze Food Hall in the North Loop a splashy update in the first couple of months of 2025. The hospitality group’s founders repeat James Beard semifinalists Mike Brown, Bob Gerken, and James Winberg installed their OG pop-up Umami by Travail featuring dumplings from Saturday Dumpling Co. Another space features Gustavo and Kate Romero of the lauded Nixta Tortilleria and Oro by Nixta, who launched a casual masa-centered taqueria called Tixtli by Nixta; and Margo and Alex Roberts of the Restaurant Alma and Brasa, who’ve unveiled a New Orleans Creole and Southern fried chicken spot, Caja Fried Chicken. The food hall includes multiple indoor seating areas, a patio deck and bar on the second floor, and bar and picnic tables at street level. Other vendors include Wrad, a thin-crust tavern-style pizzeria; and Graze on the Green, a salad and rice bowl spot. Holdovers predating Travail’s arrival include Fabled Rooster and Two Mixed Up. "The owners of Travail are taking over Graze Provisions + Libations food hall in Minneapolis’s North Loop, according to Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, and they’re bringing a batch of exciting new tenants along with them. First up are chefs Gustavo and Kate Romero of Nixta Tortilleria, who will be launching Tixtli, a masa-focused taco counter; Wrecktangle Pizza will debut a tavern-style, thin-crust pizza counter called Wrad. Beverage director Robb Jones (also of Meteor Bar) will be revamping the first- and second-floor bars (rumors of a “spritz bar” are floating about, per MSP Mag), and Molly Herrmann, founder of Kitchen in the Market and former events manager at Malcolm Yards, is coming on as Graze’s operations director." - Justine Jones
"It’s always hard to choose a meal at Graze: There’s customizable soul food bowls from Gerard and Brittney Klass’s Soul Bowl, heaped with everything from yellow rice to candied yams and Cajun salmon; crispy chicken or Hmong sausage rice bowls at Union Hmong Kitchen; handheld wraps stuffed with cold cuts and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos at Wrap (by Wrecktangle); and much more. Take your tray up to the rooftop to catch a sunset." - Justine Jones, Alex Lodner
