My lease was moved from Rent Haven in Columbia, SC to this company about two months into my lease. My lease was not originally with them.
However, absolutely avoid renting from them if possible. While I had no issues with them during the time I lived in the house, move out has been an absolute nightmare.
First, I notified them if my move out at the end of my lease. They said they would get on touch with me to schedule a move out walk through. This never happened. I didn't hear from them until nearly 3 months after the end of my lease, and that was when they sent me a certified letter saying I owed them nearly $4000 for damages.
They wanted to charge me for replacing 3 exterior doors. The doors were not damaged by me at all, and were exactly the way they were when I moved in. They wanted to charge me for painting the whole inside of the house, which was not on my original lease, but one of their move out policies. They wanted to charge me $100 for opening a closet door that never opened in the first place, and $70 to reattach a toilet paper holder in the bathroom.
Finally, 5 months from the end of my lease, they're sending me a check for $68. Nevermind the fact that South Carolina law states that the deposit needs to be dealt with within 30 days of the end of lease.
If you don't have to rent from them, find someone else. If your lease gets moved to them, good luck.
