"Take the classic 50s diner, add a little swagger and you get Great Maple. It is one of four outlets statewide, but this particular location is always buzzing. Be warned though as parking and counter seats are coveted, so plan ahead.Three-course chef dinners on Mondays; burger and beer nights on Wednesdays; and prime rib Fridays are popular, but it’s also great at brunch. Fruity Pebbles pancakes, lolliwaffles on a stick and maple-bacon donuts are sweet-tooth satisfiers. Late night? Sip a Bloody Mary and tuck in to the brisket popover, a fluffy base with tender smoked meat, poached eggs and béarnaise that will cure what ails you. Seasonal dessert pies are all the rage—including the Valencia orange cream with a pistachio- and brown butter-shortbread crust." - Michelin Inspector

Where to Beat a Hangover in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Great Maple’s popular bunch is ideal for someone who had too much to drink the night before: its large menu caters to the indecisive and its larger-than-life breakfast options are a little “too much” for everyday eating but just right for setting a hangover straight. Pretty nice spot. Ambience was chill. Nicely decorated with a variety of areas to sit; bar, patio etc. Food was very good albeit pricy. We had great service. I will particularly recommend the Stone Larger which I had with the hamburger and fries, very nice combination.

Google
Good food, but overrated. Ambience is OK. Patio seating is great on a day with great weather. Inside is very noisy. Service was great. Our server was fantastic. Eggs Benedict was so so the egg was still wet when I got it so it was a mixture of water and yolk. The flavor was great. The potatoes were a little too greasy. My wife got a salad and loved it. My daughter got the fried chicken sandwich and thought it was terrific. Eggs Benedict should definitely have more sauce on it than I got. I didn’t bother to ask for more because by the time it came, everything would be cold. They need to work on their portions.

Nice open air dining for brunch today. Great service, nice outdoor patio and decent brunch. Cinnamon coffee - good Bacon donut - yum but not as soft as I would have liked Cajun shrimp Benedict - pretty good but could have had more flavor/spice Ribeye hash - hubby loved it Bloody Mary - he said it was good Place is located in shopping center on 2nd floor, We stayed at Vea Marriott across the street which is walking distance. @travel_lifestyle_chow

Google
Truly disappointed, the menu descriptions are enticing, but the food falls completely flat. Started with the bacon mac & cheese, tasty but average. For the mains, I ordered chicken and doughnuts while my husband ordered the ribeye hash. They both looked creative and delicious, but the doughnuts were dense, and the chicken lacked any flavor and were dry and overcooked. The hash had a weird vinaigrette that ruined the whole meal because it was shocking and out of place. We spent around $80, and it wasn't worth it.

Google
Great Maple has a surprisingly fun coffee bar that serves up sweet, speciality lattes through the night. I would also recommend their prime rib sandwich, which came with arugula well paired with a tasty pesto spread and was a generously sized portion. You can add a salad instead of fries as your side at no additional charge, although the dressing was slightly flavorless and the greens were just spring mix. Pricing is comparable to other restaurants at Fashion Island.

Google
Love this place. Very elegant and warm. Our waitress was sweet and knowledgeable. Great Maple can get packed so I highly recommend reservations. Their menu has a unique yet wide variety of choices. A must try are the French Toast Logs, Chicken and Donuts, the Bacon Omelet and their Mexican Mocha. You won't be disappointed.

Google
Relaxed upscale environment, good for dates, business meetings, or brunch with friends. Not too loud for conversing. Was a little chilly to have doors open on a February evening, so don't skip a jacket. Cream of mushroom soup was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Google
The Ribeye Hash is my favorite choice at this place. The atmosphere is friendly, the waiters and waitresses are kind and nice. I would recommend someone to come here if they would like to enjoy their brunch during the weekends.

Yelp
Great Maple is my go to brunch spot in Newport. The staff is always friendly, the service is consistently good, and the food never disappoints. The chicken and donuts is a must order every time...itperfectly crispy, sweet, and savory in all the right ways. Both the food and drinks are always spot on, making this a place I keep coming back to again and again. If you're looking for a brunch that's as reliable as it is delicious, Great Maple is it.

Yelp
Glad we made a reservation--line was super long! We ordered two Bear Brews (Mexican Mocha and Salted Caramel), the Cajun Shrimp Biscuit Benedict, Meatloaf, Fried Chicken & Donuts, and Portobello Mushroom Fries. The Bear Brews were on the smaller side, but since we just wanted to try them, it worked out. The Mexican Mocha was slightly bitter, but paired well with the chocolate flavor. The Salted Caramel version tasted similar, just with the added sweetness of caramel. Portions for all the dishes were huge--we had plenty of leftovers! The Benedict came with shallot potatoes and a tasty Hollandaise sauce. I'm not a fan of biscuits in general, but that's just personal preference. The meatloaf sauce was too sweet for everyone. The standouts of the meal were definitely the Portobello Mushroom Fries and the fried chicken from the Fried Chicken & Donuts dish. The mushrooms were super juicy, and the dipping sauce complemented them perfectly. The chicken was incredibly moist, with a thin, crispy coating that we loved. We just wish there was more chicken compared to the donuts--otherwise, that dish was excellent! The only downside was the slow service. It took a long time to get extra plates at the beginning and again later when we asked for the check. Some of the staff seemed overwhelmed--possibly understaffed?

Yelp
Showed up at 10am on a Sunday, thinking I was early enough to skip the crowd. Homies, I was wrong. It was already serving full house realness and the place was hoppin' The vibe was surprisingly super chill for Fashion Island. I expected white linen and pretentious stares. Got casual laid back Southern California Charm for sure. Ordered the chicken and donuts, and... they understood the assignment. Sweet, savory, crispy, fluffy. Basically everything my date was not. Let's be real. When the convo is dry but the food is fire, you still walk out a winner. I always first date at a good restaurant. I never understood why people meet for coffee and stuff. I need to have food as my primary backup plan. If the date sucks, at least your food will treat you right. And that morning, my tummy got the love I deserved. On to the next first date.

Yelp
Visited the Great Maple on a Saturday during brunch hours. We were able to be seated immediately even though the restaurant was pretty busy. The restaurant is very open and has both indoor and outdoor seating. I quickly found numerous options to order but our amazing server helped me to narrow down the options and I ultimately chose to order the Fried Chicken and Donuts. This was probably one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. The donut went perfectly with the crispy chicken. A sweet and spicy experience. I will say it is a meal worth sharing. I couldn't eat the whole thing by myself. I also tried the Sour cream and onion scalloped potatoes which were great. It came out super fresh and hot and they were seasoned well. I will definitely be going back next time I'm in Cali!

Yelp
I'd say most often they are solid. But every so often they miss. Been coming here as a family for years but they kinda have fallen off a bit. Portions smaller (ex: mushroom fries used to be a tower and now they give like 5). Servers are the same. Been there with amazing service and others where they are not helpful with qs about the menu to friends. That said, its prob somewhere to go to especally bc Fashion Island is beautiful to walk around while you wait/a nice place to walk around after as you digest good food

Yelp
Service was ok Food was ok chopped salad was really good and the chicken on top of the donut was good. Donuts were hard egg and potato scramble was decent.

Yelp
Located on the upscale shopping area of Newport. The service was average at best. They weee obviously having issues as we were challenged to get our order take. And drinks refreshed. Observed multiple tables getting up with their checks to find someone to actually pay. Hot chicken sandwich was definitely and the heat was pretty good. Too much for me but my dining partner enjoyed it. I had the avocado and shrimp app. Asked if it was large enough for a meal and that is a stretch after having it. Nice and flavorful but not exactly a meal. Server was trying but they appeared understaffed. The expeditors were saving the day I think. Not worth the drive or the cost.

Yelp
The steak was cooked really well and paired nicely with all the sides. The mashed potatoes were creamy and light. The eggs Benedict was super filling and delicious. Would definitely recommend! The staff was not very tentative but that could have been because it was busy inside. We sat inside and the interior was very fancy and clean. The bathrooms were also super clean

Yelp
Great, Unique, Entrees! Try the Portobello Mushroom Fries! Also, try the Amazing Chicken Noodle and more soup for only $10...featured soup of the day. Finally...Fried Chicken Sandwich, with built in Coleslaw and cheese! Wonderful Assistant Manager took care of a minor issue in a highly satisfactory, tactful manner!

Yelp
Had the most amazing brunch experience this past weekend at Great Maple at Fashion Island! I've been wanting to try it out for some time now so I'm glad the weather showed up and showed out. I made the reservation a week in advance for 10:15 am and I'm thankful I did because it was packed and parties were waiting to be seated outside. I started with their cinnamon iced latte which came with the most adorable little bit of toast stuck to the rim - the latte itself was alright. My bf and dad both got black coffees which the waitstaff was incredibly attentive in refilling. They were both definitely over-caffeinated by the end of our meal lol We got the french toast logs to share which came in the heftiest portion (as were all the dishes!) and it was delicious. I loved that it wasn't drenched in syrup and that I could add as little or as much as I wanted. The blueberries were also super sweet and juicy for it not being in season. Very pleased and highlyyyy recommend. For my main I got the ribeye hash which was just outstanding. I can't wait to have it again. The mushrooms were perfectly juicy and full of umami flavor, the shreds of ribeye so tender, and the potatoes and onions all tied the dish together so perfectly. Loved the crispy onions on top as well. My dad got the fried chicken and donuts (insane) and he really enjoyed it as well. Huge portion could def be shared. My bf got the chilaquiles which he also really enjoyed and I snuck a bite of. Very well thought out menu and quality food. Dining on the patio was such a treat for a gorgeous morning out but they have indoor seating as well if that is what you prefer. I've already made reservations for an upcoming girls' brunch and I'm so excited!!! Such a fan of this place, will be recommending to everyone I know

Yelp
I've been to the Great Maple a few times now and it's been pretty solid every time. The menu here is a bit limited but the items consist of American and brunch food. During my last visit, I ordered the ribeye melt which I thought was enjoyable. Something I HIGHLY recommend ordering is the seasonal donuts from here--I've tried quite a few flavors and they're all soooo good!! I'd say everything here is on the pricey end for what it is though. They have both indoor and patio seating. I'd say the ambiance is definitely nicer inside than it is outside and personally prefer sitting inside. Service is very friendly and our server checked up on us often, which is appreciated. Overall, I like the Great Maple but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for a while and finally made my way over here. My friends and I ordered the famous donuts, and the crab benedict, and my partner got the modern American breakfast. I honestly wasn't really blown away by anything unfortunately. The portion sizes were nice, but the donuts are just super thick and sweet and not something that would be ideal to order as a side when their portions are already huge. While I appreciated the amount of crab in my benedict, the amount of flavor wasn't really all that. It was also so big that it was really hard to finish anything. The service was nice and the place itself is really pretty, but I don't think that I'd come back. If you want big brunch portions, this is a good option.

Yelp
A very lovely restaurant to have a nice tasty meal at. I really enjoyed my lemon shrimp. This is a lunch portion. I do not eat a lot, and I was able to finish all of this. Their donuts were good, but they were a little hard. The inside is softer, the outside is more like a hard crunch. It's those type of donuts if you've ever had them. The shrimp was so good. I just have to throw that out there again. I tried their pink drink their advertising when you first walk in, it was good, but not great. I will say it is kind of hard to hear people speak in there. It's very loud. You can hear people's conversations, you can hear, forks clanking, the sound travels a lot in this particular establishment. The bathrooms are clean, nothing special about them. This is a nice restaurant if you would like to take someone to lunch, brunch it would be great for a nice birthday. The staff is friendly, however, we needed water multiple times and didn't have it, I believe we even had to ask another staff for utensils because we weren't given any. And I forgot to mention, when being taken to our seats, I had to wipe my seat down with my hand because there were crumbs all over my seat. So I did have to clean the chair off before hand. It's located in the plaza of the mall, you do have to park downstairs or in the parking structure.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with the maple bacon donut. I have to go back. It's savory and sweet and the donut isn't too airy

Yelp
Situated at Fashion Island (by PF Chang's and Nordstrom), the Great Maple is the perfect spot for weekend brunch. It was my first time here, and the ambiance was great - very lively, an had a cozy vibe, along with stylish/sleek decor. We came around 11AM, and they were serving burgers/sandwiches, standard American entrees, salads and brunch food. Since there aren't any pictures and I wanted to play it safe, I went with their most well-known dish - the Fried Chicken & Doughnuts dish ($23). Service was good, and my dish came out timely. The dish came with two pieces of fried chicken tender and two large maple syrup doughnuts, topped with maple syrup bacon bits. As for taste, the chicken was unexpectedly delicious - tender, crispy and flavorful. Personally, i wasn't a huge fan of the doughnut, as it was very dense and overly sweet. Even though i was disappointed with the doughnuts, I would still consider this a good option for brunch for a large group.

Yelp
Such a nice brunch spot that seems to be very popular . The food was amazing . Wish they had more drink options like matcha or different teas , but the birthday brunch was very yummy here . It has a great location in fashion island with close parking . Just have to go up the escalators and it's to the left by Nordstrom . The service was great and friendly . It's a really nice restaurant. The only disappointment was the little birthday ice cream treat . Pretty simple , but it was something I guess lol

Yelp
The wait for weekend brunch was only 20 minutes, the food was EXCELLENT, and prices were reasonable. The drinks in the bear-shaped cups were a bit too little, need a bigger bear cup. Food portions were average. Seating areas were fairly spacious , neutral ambiance, the wall was nicely decorated with a pice of art of the great maple tree. Service staffs and check-in were friendly. I would highly recommend this place for brunch.

Yelp
A go-to spot for me when I'm in the OC. Located in the fashion island area. Great Maple is a contemporary style restaurant serving comfort food. Let's jump right into review. What I've tried - French Toast Logs - $19.00 Thick cut brioche, warm maple bacon syrup served with fresh blueberries. - Staple dish that never disappoints. It's A LOT of food, just FYI. Cajun Shrimp Biscuit Benedict -$25.00 Shrimp, cajun butter, arugula, poached eggs, and cajun hollandaise on a house-made white cheddar biscuit with sour cream & onion scalloped potatoes. - I tried this, I wasn't totally on-board with the way the dish was served. I blame me, I'm not a poached eggs gal; I should of requested no egg or had them prepared differently. Pancake 'Pops' - $18.00 Our take on pigs in a blanket: three sausage 'pops' on a stick, served with maple syrup and salted caramel for dipping. - My go-to item to order. You get 3 pancake pops sprinkled with powder sugar. I absolutely love this dish, it's delicious. Lavender Lemonade -$7.00 Pros 1. Great location and inviting environment. Bar seating has large, comfortable chairs. Always a plus to have good seating to enjoy a good meal. Restaurant has beautiful decor. 2. Staff is friendly. Service is good. 3. Menu is a good mix between comfort foods prepared with a fun twist, for example, doughnuts and fried chicken. 4. Indoor and outdoor patio seating. Cons No cons. Other things to note: - It gets busy. Plan accordingly and/or make a reservation. If you haven't tried Great Maple, stop on by. Grab a seat, take in the views in Newport and enjoy some comfort food. I'm a regular customer and I'm always pleased with my experience.

Yelp
came for grad brunch. enjoyed the short rib melt and the shared margarita (definitely enough for 5-6 people!) good vibes, good food, no complaints on service. definitely would come back to try other items given my party was all happy with their food!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a nice lunch here. My shrimp with lemon and pasta was quite tasty, as was the burger. Our party of 6 shared tastes. The Falafel wrap was good, but not great. Service was excellent and eating on the patio was enjoyable. This was my first time here but won't be my last.

Yelp
one of my favorite brunch spots in newport! For an appetizer: portebello fries are a must try entree: the french toast logs & cajun shrimp benedict are the perfect dishes to share or even enjoy yourself (who doesn't love leftovers) but if I had to choose between the two, i'd pick the benedict for sure! The shrimp is seasoned to perfection and the biscuits were scrumptious. The side of potatoes that comes with it are also seasoned very well and melt in your mouth! Drinks: the lavender lemonade!!!! I get it every single time
google avatar

Steven M.

Yelp
The service here is great! Only thing is you have to ask or look for someone if you need something, they didn't really check up on how we were doing or how the food was. I would recommend coming here for breakfast or brunch. Seems like those items are better. Dinner menu isn't as great. The ribeye melt I got was lacking in flavor, it was pretty bland, needs hot sauce. Ribs were good as the meat fell off the bones! Everything else was average, nothing too crazy. I wouldn't come back another time but trying it was not bad.
google avatar

Yelp
Great maple is a nice brunch place if you happen to be in fashion island! We popped in here on a Friday at around 12 and were immediately seated without waiting which was nice. For food, we ordered the speciality donuts, the fried chicken and donuts, truffle fries, and their ribeye hash. The donuts were good - a bit too sweet though! The truffle fries were delicious though and came with a big portion. The fried chicken was good, nothing special, but the ribeye hash was quite salty! Overall, the food was just alright. The service and ambiance of this restaurant was great though. At the end, you are given an adorable post card with your check! I don't know if I would go out of my way to come to this restaurant again but if I was already in fashion island it would be a fine choice!

Yelp
Love this place! Great food, great ambiance. The chicken and maple bacon donuts? To die for! Had to get a pomegranate donut for dessert too. Sounds like an interesting flavor, but gives sidecar a run for their money when it comes to donuts!

Yelp
Delicious! Booked ahead of time (glad I did) It was very busy and there was a long wait. Friendly service. We ordered the Chorizo Chilaquiles, Bacon Scramble and the French Toast Logs. For drinks we had a coffee and a Brew Bear cold brew with Mexican chocolate. Chilaquiles were a surprise with their very unique taste and the best thing we had. The scramble was good but the potatoes were very heavy. French Toast was also good but not fantastic. They looked better than they tasted. Will try the buttermilk pancakes next time. Coffee was very good. The Brew Bear was tiny but mighty. Would get it again! Ambience was a bit loud with dogs in the patio area. We sat inside.

Yelp
Delicious brunch spot in Fashion Island. Perfect to take family or catch up with friends. It is typical price for a nice brunch, ranging from $20-30 per dish, with appetizers around $12-15. I will say all the food was amazing, we got the truffle parmesan fries which were sooo good. Super flavorful, but not too overpowering that the flavor lingers in your mouth. The beignets were still super hot when we got them, perfect texture and the lemon sauce was superb. We also got lemon linguine pasta, super flavorful a bit spicy and tangy from the lemon. I do wish there was a bit more pasta that came with the dish. Since our eggs benedict's came a bit after some of the other dishes, they gave us complimentary pancakes. I thought that was nice, especially since they were so busy and weren't able to check on our table often. Overall, great pick for a hearty meal with family and friends. Not a spot I'd go to often because of the price, maybe just for special occasions!

Yelp
What a disappointment. The food is served in "large" portions to try and mask the horrible taste. Everything was big and had NO flavor. The steak and eggs were flavorless, the scalloped potato looked and tasted like brown bland potatoes with no fresh ingredient taste. They looked old. They poured some brown thickened gravy on the biscuit which I didn't ask for. The gravy didn't match the steak and was full of flour. We had the bland Mac and cheese and then swapped the chicken soup for French toast before our entrees but they didn't want to be courteous and hold our entrees and deliver the French toast first. We were told it would come after our entrees which is fine but they were letting us know they wouldn't be accommodating a change we made early in the meal before our starters and wouldn't hold the entrees for us. I have never had a restaurant not accommodate a change. The chicken sandwich was thigh meat fried instead of breast meat which is uncommon and makes the meat slip out the bun making it a sloppy mess of a sandwich. I saw someone else having to cut it to eat it. It was not a good sandwich. We brought our food home and I don't even want to give it to our dogs. For $150 I could have gone to Coastal Kitchen or someplace that I know the food would be fresh and tasty. This was a waste. Asked for chair for my $10k bag and was told NO, I was holding it with a carpal tunnel cast on and not until I asked AGAIN was the chair given to me. The woman next to me had a chair for her bag and there were tons of chairs they could have given me. The shape of their chairs is not something that can hold a bag so maybe have bag stools for patrons. I will not be returning and told my daughter not to go ever again as the food was so terrible. This is not the same restaurant prior to Covid.

Yelp
I love the food at Great Maple!! I came for brunch with some girlfriends today and was happy with the food, but a little disappointed with the service. They may have just been busy, but I feel like it took awhile to be greeted by our server. Thankfully once we ordered, the food came quickly and we enjoyed every bite.

Yelp
Really nice lunch here. Service was good but not overly friendly or attentive. Both salads were very tasty and large portions. Complimentary dessert was underwhelming, would have preferred a small donut but at least they brought something
google avatar

Darci L.

Yelp
Brunch was delicious! I had the scrambled eggs with sausage, avocado toast, and a Bloody Mary. My friend and I ordered the maple bacon donuts, so good! They were very rich and sweet so I only had a few bites but it had great flavor! Menu offers lots of options, but can be a bit pricey. Loved the atmosphere and service was good. I'd return to try their lunch menu!

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of Fashion Island, the chic spot, Great Maple, elevates brunch to a near-religious experience. As a girl who's sampled a lifetime's worth of avocado toasts and Benedicts, I left Great Maple pretty impressed. We arrived on a quiet Wednesday at noon and were seated without much wait. I had the seasonal salad as my personal kryptonite are dried cranberries. While I liked the salad, it soon became outshone by the other entrees gracing the table. The French toast logs are a must-get: a towering brick of toast with each piece soaked with custard such that it becomes a dessert masquerading as breakfast. The texture is reminiscent of bread pudding but maintains just enough structure to hold its shape under syrup. These logs are truly a steal for the sheer indulgence they deliver. I'd also get the Steak Hash; It boasts crispy potato shavings and generous ribbons of ribeye steak. My dad, a die-hard Benedict loyalist, strayed from his usual order without a shred of regret. My one qualm with this place is that service lags behind. But honestly, who's counting the minutes when you leave satisfied and full? If OC brunch were a competition, this spot could be a heavyweight champion.
google avatar

Nghi T.

Yelp
It's located within Fashion Island mall right next to the Nordstroms. When we arrived, it was around 11am on a Sunday and the wait was about 30 minutes to sit in the dining area. They do have bar seating though-so we opted for that instead and we were seated immediately. I ordered the fried chicken and doughnuts with one chocolate chip pancake. The fried chicken and doughnut worked perfectly together and was so good. I felt the chocolate chip pancake could have had more chocolate chips in it but was otherwise good in terms of fluffiness. Overall, a great spot for brunch!
google avatar

Yelp
My husband had hamburger and it was not cooked enough. Took way too long to get it back. Our friends had lemon pasta and the pasta was tasteless. I had a BLT that was ok but nothing to write home about. Service was poor. I was here a few years ago and really enjoyed the food however I will not be back. This restaurant has taken a 180 and I would not waste your money. There is a reason why it wasn't busy on a Sunday when all the other restaurants were packed. Wish I could have said nicer things but just didn't meet my expectations and no one else at this table.
google avatar

Audrey L.

Yelp
This place is always busy but we had a late lunch and 2 seats were available at the bar. So lucky! It is really loud inside the restaurant. If you came to have a conversation, be prepared to shout a bit. On to the food... The rib eye hash was disappointing. It's actually a chip beef warm salad. It didn't taste bad, but the name and description are deceptive. The soda pop baby back ribs were really good. Falling off the bone and the bbq sauce was not teeth- hurting sweet. I'd pay for a bottle of that sauce. Unfortunately the Parmesan truffle fries were lukewarm. The servers were great though and you get plenty of it when you sit at the bar. Drinks were refilled frequently and whatever you need is quickly brought to you. Perfect situation for two diners.

Yelp
Parking - Lots of options since it's located at Fashion Island. Service - Our server, Dave, was great! Friendly, quick, and provided some great recommendations. Food - I decided to try something new instead of defaulting to one of my favorite dishes and tried the Grilled Chicken Bowl. While I enjoyed it, it did not join my favorites list. It was healthy and light. I also tried the Pumpkin Spice Donut. It wasn't overly pumpkin flavored, but a good amount of that flavor.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was fairly quick! Food was good they give you huge portions! Definitely would recommend the fried chicken and doughnuts as well as the fried portobello mushrooms! It's a casual spot for brunch.

Yelp
Cute dinner spot, lemon pasta shrimp was tasty. And cocktail was a good balance of flavor, sweetness, and tequila.

Yelp
Every dish we got was sooooo delicious and unique!! Seriously, can't go wrong. Drinks were made with a heavy hand and hard to finish. Was difficult to get the attention of our server but it was busy, so we understood. Enjoyed the ambiance and outdoor seating. Will be back.

Yelp
There are plenty of parking spaces. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor (depending on where you parked -- we parked outside PF Chang's.). We made reservations ahead of time, otherwise it'd be a long wait. I ordered the Traditional Benedict and it was really great! The sauce and eggs were delicious and perfect. The bread was soft and easy to cut through. It comes with potatoes, but I didn't like the way they cooked the potatoes. It was too heavy and not like hashbrowns. Overall, great service and food! Recommendation(s): - Traditional benedict Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Make reservations ahead of time - Plenty of parking spaces

Yelp
Overall, we enjoyed our experience. The wait is a little longer. There were some things that we definitely liked more than others. I tried their signature fried chicken and maple doughnut breakfast. The fried chicken was really good. The maple donuts were just OK. None of us really liked them. We felt like they would've been a lot better had they tasted fresh and right out of the fryer. This tasted like a day old donut that had been sitting in the fridge. It was very dense and cold. We're hoping if we take it home and warm it up, it will be better. The eggs were very yummy and fluffy. The avocado toast was really good too. I really enjoyed the buttermilk pancakes, but we felt like the fruit baked into the pancakes was not great. It's mushy and not a great flavor, versus fresh fruit on top which we would have preferred. The bacon was good. All in all a good experience, worth a try. Little on the pricey side, but you get a good amount of food. I would give it a 3.8ish

Yelp
TLDR: don't go on a weekday or not prime hours; inedible french toast I visited Great Maple on a Wednesday at 5PM and the place had three patrons and a funky smell. After waiting at the entrance for 5 minutes, the poor bartender got us a table. I felt bad for this man - he was the only employee in charge of making drinks, taking and serving orders, and checking customers in. If you've been here, you know management is crazy for that - the restaurant can sit at least 30-40 parties. I ordered: - Famous maple bacon doughnuts $15 (3/5) - Ribeye melt with mini Caesar $25 (4/5) - French toast logs $19 (0/5) The ribeye melt was a good classic sandwich. The bread on this one was well-toasted and much more enjoyable. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. As a bread lover, it drove me crazy that no one described what kind of doughnuts these "famous doughnuts" were. They are neither like typical raised or cake donuts. They are rather bready and dense like you took 10 slices of white sandwich bread and smushed it together. Or like a really really thick and dense pancake. Just imagine a mouthful of flour. The outside is fried, very thickly glazed, and the bacon pieces are good, but I wouldn't call these doughnuts much less enjoyable ones. But it's the french toast logs that really takes the cake. The "log" in the name must be intentional because I almost lost a tooth trying to bite into one. I'm honestly impressed that you can mess up french toast this bad because it was so superbly dry and hard without being burnt. No amount of maple syrup helped; the bread was just so horrendous. And of course, with one server, there was no service to be had either. This review only speaks to my experience during non-peak hours. If you would like to visit Great Maple, I would recommend going during peak brunch hours for a hopefully better experience!

Yelp
Ended up here by mistake because another restaurant we wanted to go to in the area was too long of a wait. I'm so glad we came to Great Maple!!! It wasn't my first choice because at first glance, the menu seemed like plain American food, but upon closer inspection, it is clearly elevated. I couldn't even choose one thing because there were a variety of great options to choose from. I ended up going with the rib eye melt and my husband went with the burger. Both sooo flavorful and magnificent. I was truly impressed. He also ordered a beer and I got a cappuccino. And to share we got truffle fries. The truffle fries were also divine. Restaurant is very well decorated and clean. We will be back and bringing our friends and family. I also believe the patio is dog friendly :) Watch my TikTok for a more in depth review: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP82YXXRV/

Yelp
Nice spot to stop and have lunch or enjoy a glass of wine in between visiting Fashion Island shops. Good quality is nothing spectacular but menu offers light bites up to more hearty American cuisine. Clean interior with lots of bar seating as well.

Yelp
My Great Maple in Newport Beach offers a delightful dining experience that is perfectly complemented by the region's stunning weather. The restaurant's outdoor patio is a standout feature, providing a spacious and inviting setting to enjoy your meal while enjoying the cool ocean breeze. The ambiance is enhanced by the well-designed space, which creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The service at My Great Maple is exemplary. Service is friendly and quick. I ordered the Lemon Shrimp Pasta and it was delicious. Lots of shrimp in a buttery, cheesy, zesty sauce. Perfect!

Yelp
Wow - I was glad we had reservations! Granted it was the Saturday of Mother's Day's weekend but the restaurant was mobbed. We arrived 15 minutes early, only to have to wait another 30 minutes for the table. Suggestion for the restaurant: when u know you have a TON OF RESERVATIONS - set up a separate stand so that the walk-ups and the reservation guests are not ho mingling and do not have to wait on the same line. The drinks are strong and since I was driving, I limited my Bloody Mary to just 1, but that was the BEST BM I have had in years. The food was yummy and we ordered a set of beingets (sp?) to go for Sunday AM. Just had to do a quick reheat - and they were delicious. Look forward to coming back

Yelp
Service was slow. Had to wait a really long time to even get a menu and then waited even longer to get our drinks. Food is not as great as I remember. Lovely ambience

Yelp
Still killin' it! Great Maple is one of my top 10 favorite places to eat. The food is excellent and the service is impressive. You can't go wrong at Great Maple. Just make sure you have a reservation! They get crowded and walk-in's usually have to wait an hour or more. They offer patio seating and indoor seating. Very comfortable dining experience. We have done both; indoor and outdoor experience. Both were pleasant. The macaroni and cheese is a highlight! It is one of the best Mac and cheeses we have ever had. Seriously, it's that good. 10/10 Those truffle fries keep us coming back. We love how the fries are seasoned perfectly. Nice Parmesan flavor. Very good appetizer. 10/10 My fiancé loves the eggs Benedict. That's his favorite, he gets it every time. 10/10 And don't get me started on the beignets!!!!!! Those are fluffy clouds or powder! I love them and want them all. Dipped in the lemon sauce and it is perfection! 10/10
