Hazy IPAs, fruit sours, stouts, lagers & Sicilian pizza
"Maybe the “notion” referenced in Great Notion Brewing’s name is one of a brewery dedicated almost entirely to hazy IPAs and over-the-top kettle sours and stouts. At any rate, its success and cult-like following have had people lined up down the block (often hours in advance) for special can releases with tight per-customer limits on purchases. Though it’s fair to say that the hype has died down, it’s nevertheless holding ground very well, having expanded from one taproom on Alberta to three in Portland (plus a pop-up on Division), two in Seattle, and two in California." - Ron Scott

"Another fun spot for fruit-infused beer, Great Notion is originally from Portland with outposts in Georgetown and Ballard. Their brews are typically inspired by other foods and drinks, like their aguas frescas sour with hibiscus, strawberry, and watermelon, or their creamsicle IPA with orange puree, vanilla, and milk sugar. The indoor/outdoor space makes it a fun hangout spot in the summer, and there’s a Burbs Burgers onsite if you’re hungry." - aimee rizzo
"As of Wednesday, May 1, guests at Great Notion Brewing will no longer have to leave the premises to get a pizza thanks to a new partnership with Pizza Thief at the NW 28th Avenue location, bringing a full menu of pizzas, salads, and sandwiches to the brewery; pies will be available noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with new menu items at the Great Notion outfit but no delivery." - Paolo Bicchieri
"I noted that Great Notion Brewing organized a virtual raffle to benefit the Maui Strong Fund, offering a six-bottle set of bourbon barrel-aged stouts and a $50 Great Notion gift card; entrants (21+) can purchase a $5 raffle ticket and comment on the brewery’s Instagram post to enter." - Janey Wong
"Great Notion will open a new location with a beer garden on June 24 and a taproom in the coming months." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
