Hidden gem. Good quality food for good price. The place might not look good or even service but food is damn good. Perfect for takeout . This place is my go to place for takeout.

Lady sent me the wrong order that was prepared wrong. I reported it to grub hub and she wanted to spam my phone asking why I did that. Proceed to continue spamming my phone. The food is mediocre at best and the only reason we would order was because it was fast food. They also think it appropriate to find your contact information from your grub hub order to the contact you from their personal numbers. Extremely unprofessional.

I like their food. I also like that they are one of the few places in the area that will give you fortune cookies when you order takeout. I know it's silly, but fortune cookies are part of the fun of ordering Chinese.

The presentation was nice. The amount given for the price was pretty pathetic. They put a ton of sugar in their sauce. I guess that is what they use to give their food flavor. On the positive note the service was excellent. Personally would not go here again unless really had no choice. Then again, most Chinese food joints don't taste anywhere near as good as they used to back in the days

They have the best chicken in garlic sauce and chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce. There cheese wontons is the best. The homemade iced tea is the best in town.

Food is amazing! So fresh, clean, tasty! And not super greasy like the other places, I love this place!

My family is in this restaurant since the day they open and it’s always good. My kids love it I love it my wife love it and we love the people there.

Honestly horrible. More expensive for less value, then the No1 Chinese Food spot right down the street. Go down the street and you’ll be much happier. The sweet and sour chicken, had less then two bites of chicken in it. All fluff. Most of the other food is undercooked and smaller portions then other Chinese food restaurants. But somehow more expensive for the same orders. Honestly ordered here by accident and regretted it badly. Glad I never had it before and won’t be having it again.

The tofu was terrible. I ordered the bok choy and tofu and they gave me tofu and string beans and it was really bad. Also I ordered 3 dishes: tofu, chicken and a shrimp dish but I only received 2 rice and was missing one. I called and spoke to the manager and she said that it would be delivered but it never arrived. I'm very disappointed.

DONT ORDER FROM HERE! My boyfriend and I waited an order for food that said it would be delivered in 30. When we called just to ask for an updated ETA (bcuz the Uber eats app wouldn't update us), an employee told us "You'll just have to fucking wait.", and then hung up. ABSOLUTELY FOUL AND UNNECESSARY.

I have been going to this place for 2 yrs. and got treated HORRIBLE for a long time customer! The WIFE is a real sweetheart but the husband is another story REAL ATTITUDE when something goes WRONG then the TRUE COLORS come out. I had gone in to place an order 30 min. before closing almost like my dish was RUSHED!!! I ordered EGGPLANT in GARLIC SAUCE! Now come on you should at least know to cook the vegetables where they are AT LEAST ABLE TO CHEW. I nearly broke my tooth. I thought I got a direct carrot from a farm out of the ground or from the Easter Bunny! THAT'S HOW HARD ALL THE VEGTABLES WERE!! The following morning I called and the wife answered, I explained that the vegetables where ALL hard. Being the sweetheart like she is she said no problem either you can have the dish made up again or a refund. So now I get there and the husband had the GHAUL to say don't come back go somewhere else. You go get it somewhere else he kept saying. WHAT A DISRESPECTFUL, ARROGANT OWNER. Please the customer to their satisfaction jerk that's how business thrives, DONT SEND THEM AWAY!! He said go try other places! I told him and I do I am from the NY and have been a connoisseur of Chinese food jerk that you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had 5 places in just one town. SO I DO NOT NEED YOUR ADVICE!! Just be concerned with a customer's ERRORS!!!! It does not surprise me because one day I was waiting for an order and he was just as NASTY on the phone to a customer who had an error with the order!!! Step up to the plate JERK and rectify the ERROR, live up to your MISTAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He treated me so MEAN I WILL NEVER ENTER THAT PLACE AGAIN!! REMEMEBER MORON THAT WAS YOUR OWN WIFES THOUGHT TO COME IN FOR A REMAKE OR THE REFUND, SO DON'T YELL AT ME STRAIGHTEN OUT YOUR WIFE THEN FOR GIVING THE WRONG INFORMATION!! bye bye for good never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waited over 1 hour and 30 minutes from the time of my initial delivery. Seamless had to assign 2 different couriers because they kept delaying the order. When I called the restaurant they hung up on me twice when I asked how much longer it would be. Finally got someone on the phone to give me an accurate ETA and they said it was going to be another 40 minutes before they could even start my order! Insane!!! I was excited to try this place but they didn't give me the chance because of poor business decisions, horrible customer service and lack of hospitality. I mean it was Christmas Day, how are you not prepared to getting rocked by to-go orders as a Chinese restaurant on one of your biggest days of the year??? Ordered from U Like Chinese Takeout & got my food in 30 minutes.

Decent Chinese fare. Prompt delivery and good sized portions. Nothing fancy but pretty good.

The food is great here for the most part depending on the day you go and who is cooking and to top it off the prices are getting out of hand. I feel like every month or every few weeks it's a different price and you get no free soda for the amount spent.

Super standard americanized chinese. Nothing special, but they're extremely consistent and never mess anything up. What else do you want?

They gave me two different prices on the same dish the two times I went there in person. Last time I gave them a twenty and they gave me change for ten. When I pointed it out, they took out a ten from the cash draw and said that's what I gave them. You can be sure I'll never patronize that dive again. Be careful if you pay in cash- (that's all the accept).

It's mid. Ghetto nyc Chinese food standard. However, I like the pork fried rice, so ill keep ordering here until I live somewhere with better choices LMAO

I needed a snack for the long ride home and decided this might be a great option. I walked on to two little girls playing and engaged parents, everyone full of smiles. The place was filled with odors of deliciousness. I ordered a shrimp roll and my order was processed immediately. The rolls looked handmade so that was a definite plus. I paid my nominal tab and was out the door to the train. The outer shell was crispy and a little chewy (as it should be) filled with cabbage, shrimp and a little celery (no it didn't ruin it). Everyone must have wished they stopped too, they were drooling at the sight of the roll. I will be back to try more.

Great Chinese joint! This is NOT fine dining, but it's good for what it's trying to be. Consistent, fast service, inexpensive, and all the MSG you came for (I actually don't know if they use MSG). My favorites are the sesame chicken, egg drop soup, beef fried rice, and chicken lo mein. Consistent delivery service too. I almost ran into my rabbi coming out of here once - it's a good thing they have two entrances!

WOW...this was once upon in time six years ago a 4.5-Plus Since the Sale of this business to new owners it's been a downward spiral of census of tense contention with negative mixed subpar quality, rating, recommendation, and contentment moods? I've experienced in the service appeasement to be undeserving of further attention since on more occasions the food was either bland, overcooked or burnt, stale tasting, and just luke-warm or cooler upon delivery arrival? I've given them three separate Benefit of Doubts to rediscover possibly improvement, however I was just disappointed twice then thrice again months apart! Won't comment on their demeanor nor ethics by stating silent at this time to not express my sincerest thoughts at this pensive moment. Buy at your own chance of luck by flipping a gambling COIN?

After living in the Heights for nearly 2 years now, this has become my favorite spot for Chinese in all of Manhattan! I'm there at least 2x per month! The extra-spicy General Tsos chicken is low key comforting and the chicken / veggie lo mein is on point! Check this place out!!

Get takeout from here alot and its always fats and good. Can't ask for more from a chinese place.

Came here from the Bronx craving some really good Asian food. Ordered the MaPo Tofu and an order of the large-sized fried shrimp (6 pieces). The shrimp were pounded flat and breaded. I took one bite and they were so dry and flavorless I threw them out! No doubt they came frozen out of a box. The tofu was also a disappointment. The dish contained peas and carrots and the sauce had a strange inauthentic flavor that was cloyingly sweet. Nothing special here This place serves run of the mill food best suited for the fried rice and chicken wings crowd!

I got food poisoning and had to call out of work from what seemed to be reheated or old food. At first I thought the rice was blah but figured maybe it was just my taste buds being off and I figured eh, if my family isn't noticing anything off than we should be okay. NOPE. the chewy egg rolls and dark chicken wings, dry old rice really did a number. They must have reused old oil to cook those wings in. My mother had a stomach ache and Even my brother who has an iron stomach had a stomach ache. This was the 2nd and LAST TIME we get anything. We went back because the 1st time we ordered, the food was fresh and scrumptious!! Where is the consistency? What if someone had to go to the hospital for your bad food? Thank goodness mine didn't come to that but the pain and diarrhea is a reminder.....Caveat emptor!!! (Let the buyer beware!!!)

Its disgusting. I orsered walnut shrimp and mapo tofu. The shrimp was so soggy and dried , the fried layer was coming off in 3 pieces. It obviously was sitting in air for long time , re- fried over and over again. Brocolli was not thoroughly washed. Mapo tofu was not flavorful at all - not spicy , not salty, not sweet, just alot of peas. Its disgusting and kitchen staff definitely do not have any morals. Dont order from here , there are plenty of good places around. Oh delivery was on time.

This was one of our go-to places since we moved to the neighborhood 5 years ago...until last week. My husband and I got severe food poisoning from either the hot and sour soup or scallion pancake (it's what we shared). We hadn't eaten anything for close to 15 hours prior and we both thought the food tasted a bit odd. After reading other reviewers retroactively, this wasn't an isolated incident. So...eat at your own risk, because projectile vomiting isn't fun.

Local place, tiny & for take away only. Excellent prices, big menu. If you're looking for an "old school" classic, greasy, comfort food type of Chinese food, this is the place. Combos are a lot of food, coming with either soul, egg roll or a soda. Moo goo gai pan, chicken w broccoli, general tso, sesame chicken, chicken w string beans are all solid orders. Skip the wonton soup & get an egg roll. Fast service, friendly people!

RUN! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! You want Chinese food just go down the block to No.1 or the other side on 181and Broadway. Avoid this place at all cost. Everyone usually gets food poisoning. Just don't go, not worth your health.

Ordered take out tonight. I liked their fried chicken breast, it was tasty. Fresh Veggie soup was ok.

Fave Chinese fast food to go. I normally get their spicy eggplant and spare ribs. Veggies pretty good. Dont love their meats but everything else is good.

I ordered off seamless and it came SUPER SUPER fast. I got the egg spring roll (average), cheese wontons (the drunk food we all want and NEED), scallion pancakes (okay), and dumplings (average). As you can see, more things are average, but if you want fast and quick Chinese in Washington Heights, this is your place. Weird, but the dumpling and soy sauce seemed watered down. The dumplings had barely any flavor and unfortunately the dipping sauce didn't help. They get 4 stars for speed and the cheese wontons! Would MAYBE order again. Vegetarian entrees are sparse.

Got the chicken and carrot soup here 7 days ago, remember thinking that the chicken felt/tasted undercooked and stupidly ate it anyway. Cue the worst bout of food poisoning I've ever had. I went to the UCC last Friday, severely dehydrated and miserable. Going to another doctor again tomorrow, as I suspect I now have a blockage in my small intestine. Avoid this place. There are far better restaurants in this area.

Consistent Chinese food. Fast turnover and really cheap, no complaints really. You just really can't beat consistent service

Always fast. Always fresh. Always delicious. This is my favorite Chinese delivery spot, bar none. In addition to their consistently excellent food, they're accommodating too (they didn't bat an eye when I asked them to make the chicken curry a little differently based on my preference). Oh, and their combo prices are unbeatable. An entree, fried rice, and soup for $7.50? Ummm yes, please.

I love this Chinese food restaurant. Everyone who works there is super sweet and makes you want to come back to the establishment. I order the same thing every time: cheese wontons, steamed dumplings and an egg roll. I love coming here after a long day of work!

Decent Chinese food place. Fast and efficient delivery but wouldn't be the best I've ever had. Good value for the cost though.

I used to order from them a lot back then, but the quality of their customer service has really gone to the dumps. When I ordered something in error and suggested maybe they add a small description adding what it includes, they first said "everyone knows what chicken with garlic sauce comes with" and that they have "almost 300 food items on their menu", so as to say they don't have the time or space for clarification. Once you actually do get a delivery, they give you ONE ducksauce for 2 orders. ONE. Delivery took like an hour to come from 7 blocks away, which I'm trying to give them a pass on because of the weather but this happened the last time about a week ago when I had placed a small order and it was a clear night. Think I'm going to look for a new spot going forward, which sucks because the food is good. My recommendation: don't do delivery, only do walk-ins.

If I can give this place 0 stars I would. They gave me pork fried rice when I ordered white rice & didn't send my drinks. Waste of money. This place is DISGUSTING!!! Don't order from here.

I decided to go here to pick up some dinner after getting out of the A train (they're located right above the station). I ordered chicken and broccoli with brown rice, and spare ribs. As I walked down the hill, I could smell my chicken and broccoli, it was so so fragrant. I got home, and was very pleased. The chicken and broccoli was absolutely delicious. Very flavorful, large strips of chicken, and perfectly cooked broccoli. The spare ribs were so-so (I'm very picky about my ribs!). Also, my order came up to $16, and I got two free cans of soda. That was nice! If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definately go there again.

It is what it is. Very quick service and cheap, quick dinners. I can get steamed chicken and veggies and brown rice for $5 dollars. It is nice to run across the street and have something hot and cooked for me in ten minutes time. I don't give it two stars because it sucks, necessarily. It just...well, is a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. Nothing gourmet about it. It works in a pinch. I'm thankful it's there. Good enough.

Why this place was listed in the Yellow Pages as the Great Wall Chinese Food "Kitchen Corp" is beyond me. This is your run-of-the-mill greasy Chinese restaurant, complete with Chinese lady that answers your call in thick, accented English. ("Great Woll!" Oh how I miss the sound.) They have seats--presumably for "dining-in"--but this is definitely one place you want to keep strictly on a take-out or delivery basis. It'll help preserve the mystery.

During an unfortunate year of death and illness from covid you can still depend on the Great Wall Chinese food to take an order for delivery and charge the card refuse to refund you because the day it is ready so you go to pick it up because your being courteous and place the order only found out it's not even made or maybe they just shipped it out to somebody else so basically store is willing to tell lies to you to keep your money and of course they don't understand English and out refund you they're just liars it's hard to do business with liars liars should not be in business great wall of China and the women in the front counter are liars the light to get your money the light to keep your business kind of reminiscent of everything this country has gone through with one pic check your country lying well everybody should stop for the great wall of China ally on they plate don't understand card and liars

Best Chinese food in Washington Heights. I ordered General Tso's, veggie lo mein, broccoli in garlic sauce, and crab rangoon. ALL of it was delicious. It came with plenty of rice and a free can of soda for $20. Its hard to beat. The staff was friendly and it took less than ten minutes for everything from ordering to me walking out. Highly recommend.

As you know there are a lot of Chinese restaurants that cook up the same exact stuff, for similar prices in this general area. This may not be anything near gourmet, but for 5.75 for a lunch special, all I got to say is, not bad! The food is generally a little better than the competition in the area. The general tso's chicken was pretty tasty. This is the first time I've ever had it and I'm glad I had it here. I ordered mild-spicy, though I think it would have been better to just order it not spicy at all. It was pretty hot considering I ordered it as mild. We also ordered sesame chicken which is said to be better than the rest we've had so far. The teriyaki chicken was quite impressive. Came on the skewers, nicely cooked over a fire. Great flavor! Everything came out to 17 dollars w/ drinks. Not bad, not bad.

This place is clean. The service is prompt and friendly. They can fix the food pretty much how you need it to be. I ask for sesame tofu with the sauce on the side. They deep fry the tofu, put the sauce in a container. You can always asked for steamed veggies with sauce on the side. All of their dishes taste great and there's great variety for vegetarians. I like that it's so convenient and reasonably priced. Having lived in Taiwan for over 8 years, I know what good Chinese cooking is and there's is really good for the money and the type of place. So thankful they are in the neighborhood because the other one down the block on 181 isn't as fresh, clean and service is sometimes very gruff.

Used to be my go to Chinese spot, but they are unwilling to admit when they make a mistake or make it right. If you deliver the wrong food or leave something out, you should be willing to fix it, not lie and refuse to redeliver the right food.

Yesterday, me and my friends were hungry so we ordered 3 chicken and broccoli's. My friend lives 4 blocks away from this place and delivery took more than an hour. After eating it we all felt kind of off and decided to go home. That night me and my two friends all got food poisoning and vomited. Mind you we were all fine before eating it.

For some reason the food here tastes somewhat better than your other Chinese hole in the wall type restaurants in the area. Of course, it's a matter of personal taste but for fast and cheap Chinese food I think this is one of the better options. Nothing gourmet about it, cheap ingredients but ok when you're hungry and your other option is chips & guac.

Great Wall is great - They are fast, basic, cheap Chinese food! I have ordered all types of dishes from them and never felt sick or gross out. I can tell they also pride themselves on great service. One day they slightly messed up my order (gave me the wrong type of rice) and they chased me down to block just to give me the correct one. That's pretty nice if you ask me!

I've been going here for years and sometimes the service is good and other times understandable. Today I ordered and as usual I pay upfront in confidence I will get good service. When paying the cashier mentioned that there is an increase in price cause the cost of supply's has gone up, now that's ok I get that and without hesitation I paid. Now receiving my purchase was more than disappointing. There was an older lady at the counter in the cashiers position. She really did not care what I ate with because she only put two soy sauce in the bag no napkins no eating utensils. When I asked about that she looked at me like I was not right for asking. Then picked up a fork and two napkins and tried to open the sliding plexiglass with it. Couldn't then used her hand. On top of that I felt she had a slight attitude about it. You ask for more money during this hard time we all are going through and should be more supportive to one another. The product should be in the bag without having to ask. I paid for it so attitude is not necessary nor invited. When I just ask for the components that goes with my purchase. Thanks for reading this. Now I don't think this message should detour people from going to eat here the food is good! I just would like a positive change.

I gave this place several tries and every time I ate here, I had food poisoning! What attracted me to this place initially was the cheap prices and the decent food. Boy was that a mistake! I definitely will not be coming back.

Right into the trash. This place is located above the subway station at 181 street and so I frequently pass by it. I noticed a sign indoors for scallion pancakes. I fought the urge to try them for several weeks until today. So I ordered those, some hot and sour soup, and some steamed vegetable dumplings. The scallion pancakes went directly into the trash. The hot and sour soup was terrible but I ate it. It was liquid with corn starch and pepper. Terrible. The steamed dumplings were ok but only because they were simply heated and mass-produced elsewhere. I can't really emphasize enough how bad this place is. It's right above the subway which that alone should be a red flag- with all the rats, bugs, and poison. In the restaurant was a bicycle wheel and the top part of a parking meter - I felt like part of a crime scene. I stink like cooked grease having been in there for 15 minutes waiting for my order, all my clothes reek. No one speaks English in there, all I could do was point to things on the menu to order. Basically it was frustrating, filthy, and terrible food. Never again.

Richie hit it on the nose "Great WOOOOOLLL". It's good food I think, good beef and broccoli, but the real choice is the "boneless chicken breast" special, two big pieces somewhere between chicken cutlet and the whole breast (size wise) and pork fried rice, I think it's like 4.50 or 5 bucks, they're quick on delivery too (we're down the hill a few blocks). It's best not to go there though, it looks like a police office became a Chinese spot, also what's funny, they have a kid that can't be more than 11 working there, he's usually helping out at the counter, but he's delivered to us at least three times.

The guy there is pretty nasty, the place is REALLY dumpy and the food is definitely eclipsed by Lucky No. 1 down the block. Food there overall is pretty greasy. Needless to say I'm not a fan.

I like this place. They have great taste and good amount of menu. Easy takeout and order as well. And affordable too
