Green Hills Grille

We were in Nashville for a short weekend visit with family. They suggested Green Hills Grille for lunch. The restaurant was located in a busy mall with plenty of parking. We were met at the door of the Old-California-style restaurant which had plenty of seating inside but we opted to sit outside under the large red umbrellas to enjoy the beautiful day. The menu offered a variety of dishes from salads to burgers. Everything looked delicious it was hard to choose. Our waitress Megan was a friendly knowledgeable young lady who suggested some of her favorite dishes. My young grandniece enjoyed tasting items off our plates, but loved her burger and fries. She even gave it a thumbs up. The Dessert Menu was a haven of indulgent treats that we fully enjoyed. If you are in Nashville or just passing through I would recommend stopping by Green Hills Grille .

What a great find in Nashville! We were looking for a restaurant near Parnassus books, and discovered Green Hill's Grille. For a restaurant that has such a wide variety of food and large menu. Everything that we ordered was spot on. The peach cobbler we had for dessert was phenomenal. We started with some nachos that had three different dips, one of them was a salmon dip, we had a cheese dip, and the last was guacamole. They were all wonderful. We each had a salad. My beet salad was tasty and well balanced. Yulia out waitress gave great recommendations and clearly knew their vast menu.

AMAZING! I'm not really sure why they only have a 4.5, but I for sure had a 5 star experience! Rylee L. was one of the best servers I have come across. She was friendly, welcoming, and knew her job well for being her 2nd day! Absolutely recommend her when you come. I got the plum salmon absolutely delicious, every bit of it. Everyone in our party loved their food. If I lived here, I would come at least once a week to try something new. Great menu, great service, great experience.

Took my parents here for lunch and we loved the food, the Service was good, I would have given the service a 5-star rating except for after lunch after we paid I had to get up and ask for a refill on our beverages and if there was a shift change someone should have checked on us. I have worked in the hospitality business for over 35 years and most service people tip on top of tips or at least I do. It's not going to keep me from coming back cause the food is amazing. The Service wasn't horrible, just need better training.

Fortunately we discovered this fantastic neighborhood restaurant on our first evening in an Air BnB in the Green Hills neighborhood and were able to walk there. The plum salmon, bib salad and strawberry shortcake were all deliciously prepared, and greatly enjoyed with the refreshing grapefruit cocktail. The young man serving us was exceptionally upbeat, friendly and full of suggestions, as well as efficient. We were so impressed that we returned for a delicious lunch the next morning of prime rib sliders and house chips. Again, the food, cocktails and service were superb. There were several things on the very extensive menu that I wanted to try, especially the quinoa roasted vegetable bowl, that I wanted to return that evening, but my husband insisted that we at least check out another neighborhood restaurant. Unfortunately we were in downtown Nashville all of our third day & evening, so I did not get to enjoy other delicious meals at this great place, but hopefully we’ll return again. You cannot go wrong eating here.

I had an amazing dining experience at Green Hills Grille! My server, Mary Jane, and her trainee, Markeith, were absolutely fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. I ordered the plum salmon, which was cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of sweet and savory flavors. Paired with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, it was an outstanding meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing and delicious dinner. Highly recommend!

Green Hills Grille is amazing. The menu is great. Sandwiches, pastas, meats. All good, and all for a fair price. They also have happy hour that has great food and prices as well. The service was great, atmosphere was really comfortable, and the food was delicious with very generous servings. The drink menu is good too. I imagine this place has been around since before Green Hills was today’s Green Hills. It feels like a great local restaurant, with a Cheers style local crowd. Bonus for families: There were a lot of kids in the restaurant, and they were all happy (no crying). Bonus for people going without kids: no kids were crying.

I tried this place for the first time through delivery and it did not disappoint. I got the sweet potato salad, added grilled chicken and an ahi tuna taco. Everything was fresh and delicious. Great quality and so good!

I got the quinoa and roasted vegetables which was delicious!! Also got the chocolate brownie that I shared with my friend which was good as well. Overall, I definitely recommend coming here for dinner.

We enjoyed the food and will return when in the area. I had the baby back ribs and my wife had the sweet potato salad with chicken. She had a grapefruit margarita and I the happy hour old fashioned. Both of us liked the drinks for sure. Now let's dig into the food. On the salad there was a lot of salad and had the chicken added. She said the chicken was a little over but that's the problem with chicken breast. You have about one second between it being undercooked and over cooked. I really liked the ribs. The sauce was very good. It had a different taste to it that I just couldn't figure out but different in a good way. They were super tender and fell off the bone. Only issue I have was I got 5 ribs which is barely considered a half rack. A full rack end to end is 13. Half should be either 6 or 7. The lady that waited on us was very friendly and attentive to us. Made sure we were happy. The vibe is pretty casual which is always something we appreciate. We were here on our way home from doing something else. Overall we would come back again.

This place gets 5+stars from me. My best friend and I were visiting from Memphis and dropped in for dinner. The fish and chips and carrots cake both get the chefs kiss.

Came for lunch one day, parking lot is VERY crowded and can be a pain to move through, but lots of seating inside, quick to get seated, and the staff was welcoming. Great ambience for casual dining and good conversation. I had the kale salad with grilled chicken and it was DELICIOUS. Beautiful colors, fresh, and had the perfect ratio of dressing to salad. Enjoyed every bit of it and would 100% return!

My new favorite lunch/early dinner spot. I had the tacos and Loved them!! My boyfriend had a salad that looked fresh and delicious. He also had a chicken salad melt that was yummy. We sat outside in the cute courtyard. Service was fast and friendly. I can't wait to return!

I have been here twice - once for dinner and once for brunch. Dinner was nice - they have great happy hour deals (including salads that are a nice portion). The drinks were good and the burger was solid. I came here for brunch as it was less busy than some other brunch places and it was excellent! I would definitely come back for brunch! They service was the best and the food was really tasty and they gave super large portions.

We have not been here in years, and on a whim we stopped it. Stopped in just in time for Happy Hour! Perfect timing. We decided to order a couple of the Happy Hour Old Fashioned drinks and look around and decide if we were going to stay and eat. Ok, I saw one thing go by and I was sold. You will see what at the end. I stared off with the Happy Hour Wedge Salad it was the perfect size and was very good. Then I had the Crab Cakes also very good full of good flavor. My wife had the bib salad and the Rib Rolls, they were amazing! Now for the reason why we decided to stay.... It was Dessert. Wait for it.... A Strawberry Short Cake!!! WOW, it was Amazing! The service at the bar was very good, and fun to talk too. They offer outside service which will be nice in the fall. The inside is a little out dated. If you have not tried this place you need to, especially during Happy Hour! I forgot to tell you, certain bottles of wines are half off during Happy Hour! Hurry in before the Strawberry Short Cake is taken off the menu, but it will be back next year! Cheers!

We enjoyed Sunday brunch at Green Hills Grille. You can tell this a place that locals eat. I'd call it upscale, but not stuffy or too expensive. I had the sweet potato salad and added roast turkey -- it was delicious with shaved Brussels sprouts, kale, pomegranate seeds and a house made dressing. The portion was large enough that I was able to take 1/2 home for another meal. My husband had hot chicken and waffles. He said that the chicken was not over-breaded and had just the right level of heat to be flavorful. The waffle was served cut in quarters, which made it more manageable to eat. The dish was also served with 2 eggs and a side of fruit. The service was prompt, attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely return to GHG.

This was only my second time coming here and it was really good. They have a daily HH menu and for those folks who are non drinkers, there's a solid mocktail list. I tried the mocktail gimlet and it was very good. For a starter we ordered the salmon dip and it was very delicious. For my entree I ordered the pork belly tacos. I 100% recommend trying this, it's on the July special menu...don't walk ...run to try this! Very flavorful and filling. The service was good, the manager came over to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Great for groups and/or date.

Service and Food were good. I love the ambiance and look of the restaurant and everyone was professional. Good neighborhood with rather tight parking. The prices are on a par with green hills in general- expensive. I subbed out a side for fries on a chicken sandwich and wasn't told there was an up charge so I paid $24 for a sandwich with rice and beans for a side. It was good but not worth it.

Reserve with caution. We had a reservation for over a week and when we arrived, they simply told us that we were on a priority list to be seated, and we had to wait more than half an hour for us to actually be seated. Reservations are not their priority so we will simply go somewhere else that has the courtesy and respects our time.

Phenomenal service, food, and staff, and I cannot express my gratitude for how well everyone treated us here! I organized my engagement party here and the restaurant owners and staff truly went above and beyond for us! They set up our large table and the owners even bought us flowers in mason jars and put them as centerpieces and told us to take it home. THANK YOU GREEN HILLS GRILLE for making this so special and memorable!!! Best service ever! I had the filet mignon slides and fries and it's one of the best items on their menu, I get this frequently. The filet mignon patties are juicy and very flavorful and it just goes so well with as a slider. I always get this or the Lemon Artichoke Chicken. They also have a seasonal menu often and their food is delicious, tasty, and very fresh. Their menu also has a lot of options so there will always be something for everyone. The waiter also informed us that wine bottles were half off, which was a nice surprise (on a Friday night) so we got a couple of bottles for the table and we definitely got our bang for our buck! We had a cake for the engagement and they helped us put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold as we had our meals and brought it out with a cake knife and plates. They did not charge us a cake fee which was so kind. Emerson was phenomenal, gave us great service, and she was kind to take our pictures. I forgot our waiter's name but he was awesome as well!

I came to green hills grille to celebrate an engagement dinner and had a wonderful time! To start off with, the service was incredible. The waiter was extremely patient and kind to the big group he was serving. The owners even went out of their way to decorate the table with congratulations flowers, which was an very touching gesture. For food, I got the chicken pignoli pasta. It came with two fresh, buttered, warm pieces of bread. This was a very filling dish! I loved how the pesto mixed with the tomatoes and goat cheese. The chicken was plentiful in portions as well. I would definitely recommend and had enough for a full meal of leftovers! Overall, I had a great experience at green hills grille. The food and service was outstanding. Parking was plentiful in front of the building and easy. I plan to be back!

Came here for lunch today and had the red bar chicken and it was delicious! Service was outstanding and I am already looking forward to trying more things on the menu.

Amazing food even better experience. Tonight our service was on point. We will be back for sure. The owner Steve stopped by our table to get know us. Also they gave us a free dessert. We shared with him that this was our second time here. That personal touch is the key to an authentic experience. I highly recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try for the first time tonight and were pleasantly surprised. The inside is a little dated, and there were some very ugly stains in our chairs in the dining room. But we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We started with queso which I did not have high hopes for, but it was the best thing we ate that night. I ordered Lemon Artichoke Chicken and it was tender and saucy and well seasoned. My boyfriend ordered the chicken penne with shrimp and he liked it as well. It is pricey, both of our dishes were over $20, and for that you would think they could hire someone to clean the chairs. Our server Enoch was lightning fast and kind. The dirty chairs are the only reason for the missing stars. This place could be super special with a little TLC.

Always excellent food and service... go there often with friends and family and can sit outside on nice days!

Gluten free people rejoice! This place has tons of options! Parking is easy, the front, near the bar, is so loud you can't hear yourself think, so unless that's your thing, ask to be seated in the back. The menu has a nice variety, and, as I mentioned, has many gf choices, including gf buns and pasta. At our table, we started with the spinach dip, so good, then we had chicken sandwich and chicken salad melt, both were delicious. It's a little pricey but the food is tasty.

Food is always top notch. This is a classic Nashville restaurant. Very popular with the locals. I frequent this place 1-2 times a week.

We tried this place for the first time in a long time and our food was very good! We came on a Saturday during brunch hours - there is a large brunch menu in addition to their regular lunch menu. A ton of choices! We decided on the Reuben and the chicken salad melt. Both were very tasty. This would be a good place to dine outside when the weather is nice- the patio area looked nice.

My new favorite restaurant! Excellent service, chill ambiance on the patio and delicious food. I especially enjoyed the watermelon cooler. Gold Star!

Stopped here for lunch with my wife and daughter. It's difficult to find a place that everyone will like. Green Hills Grille had something for everyone. I got the burger and fries. Thoroughly enjoyed the shoestring fries and the burger was cooked perfectly. My wife, the fish n chips, which was good. She substituted Brussels sprouts for the fries. They could have been cooked a little longer but tasted fine. My daughter opted for the coconut chicken tenders (thankfully you can't taste any coconut, but they're crispy) and a 5oz burger, which looked way bigger than 5 oz. The service was great and our server genuinely seemed interested in helping us by suggesting menu items. The restaurant has a classy but casual vibe and was very comfortable. I'll likely come back again next time I'm in the area.

I am emerging you if you are considering eating at Greenhills Grill to beware of the seafood. My husband and I were there Friday and I ended up with pretty severe food poisoning. I have always enjoyed eating at Greenhills Grill, but I'm afraid I will not return. wendy

Great place to have a large party of people with diverse dietary preferences . Creative variations on home cooking. Up scale filet mignon sliders with horseradish mayonnaise, remarkable meatloaf , delicious coconut encrusted chicken tender . Local ingredients like chicken. Salads with handcrafted dressings. Plenty of drink option including nice local craft beers and unique cocktails. The service was good for a very busy Saturday during peak hours and a party of 12. Thanks for fitting us into the dining room to reminisce at a reunion. The casual atmosphere and classy food was really one of the best nights a group of old friends could have, Thanks for making it happen for us!

Been a couple times and the service and food has always been top notch. To be honest, I've only ordered from the seasonal or monthly specials. G has been many more times and is positive if not enthusiastic about the offerings as well. One of the things I like is that they dress up the restaurant, based on the season / holiday. So that change of ambiance makes adds an element of fun...so long as you like spiders and scary things at Halloween, for example. (None of the spiders or skeletons were alive...or you could say "undead". But 3 out of 4 kids liked the decor, so be warned! But all 4 of the kids at the next table seemed very happy with their food.) Anyway, I recommend you try this place for a nice change of routine.

Down home service, tasty eats, and cute local-style, cozy dining room. Enjoyed the pecan crusted trout,; it was to die for. And they happily switched out ingredients to follow my keto food preferences. Small but agreeable wine list and friendly people from the customers to the wait staff and manager. Highly recommend visiting this yummy spot and going back again.

I had the most amazing time at the green hills grille!!!!!!! AMAZING staff and the best food!!!! Mary Jane was the best waistress ever and I am so excited to go back!

Green hills area is packed with a variation of delicious restaurants, but today, I visited the Green Hills Grille, and it did not disappoint. The service was amazing with respectful workers that go above and beyond to make you comfortable and fulfill your hunger. The interior is perfect for enjoying a well prepared and delicious meal because presentation on each plate is paired perfectly with a filling amount of food. Everything was delicious, and it was a short wait. Once again, I will come here again for lunch because it does not disappoint.

I've reviewed the Grille before, but coming back to say that even after all these years, the place is still amazing! I love how it's a hyper local spot with amazing food. This is where you eat if you want to avoid bachelorette's.

I'm not sure why this place does not have 5 stars. The food is SO good, the service is top tier (people are so kind here), and the ambiance makes you feel like you're at home. I will most definitely be back.

After speaking with the General Manager, he was more than generous in his handling of the situation with our Thanksgiving turkey. He was gracious and genuinely interested in making things right. We are looking forward to our next visit at Green Hills Grille, which is always a great experience. Good customer service goes a long way and they hit it out of the park.

My husband and I wanted to grab dinner before seeing a movie. This place is beautiful. Food is fresh, cooked perfectly, and tastes fresh. We will definitely be back. Our server was very friendly too.

When we went to Green hills grille i had the seasonal Bills Meat Loaf. they had great service and everything looked very appetising, our server refilled the drinks the minute we ran out and was very friendly. They had a great atmosphere and great staff would come here again any time

A very nice neighborhood restaurant that delivers more than your typical bar food. They have a good rotation of monthly specials and a wide variety on the menu to land happily on anyone's pallet. Highly recommended.

Not quite sure that there was anything particularly special about this place. The food was decent, the service was decent. Prices were a bit high... it was a nice experience but I wouldn't say anything stood out to us. It was good but nothing to write home about.

Great food! The hot chicken salad is the best and I appreciate that they keep the chicken separate for to go orders.

The food was great but more expensive than I expected. I came on a Saturday night and forgot to make reservations but our party of 2 had no troubles getting a table. There was a wait to be seated outside, however. There is limited parking up front but a big garage around back so parking wasn't an issue. The service was super fast but almost to the point where they were rushing us and our waiter was friendly but almost too friendly that it came off creepy. I ordered the chicken penne pasta which was great and super filling. I have a pretty big appetite and was only able to finish about half. Granted they also brought the check to our table when we were only a few bites into dinner so I felt very rushed to begin with.

I was next door getting a massage and noticed this spot. I am traveling for work and needed to grab dinner. I walked into the bar to order food to go. They were slow to acknowledge me and it took awhile for them to get my order. The wait was worthwhile! I got the ribeye sliders and they were amazing. They were very tender with aoili sauce with the tender brioche buns made it a perfect meal.

I frequent the Green Hills area often, but today was my first day going in. The interior was very cozy but still sophisticated. The Red Bar Chicken was absolutely amazing. I was genuinely impressed with the quality of this place from the food to the service. I will definitely be back!

This is my new favorite spot in green hills. The food was incredible. I got the salmon BLT and it was cooked to perfection. I also had a side of roasted veggies that were hot, a good portion, and packed some flavor. The sandwich was awesome. It came with bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, on a wheat bun. The salmon was a good piece as well. If I could go here every day I would. Our server was so sweet, it was one of his first few days and he was super attentive, kind, and receptive to our questions. When I asked what vegetables were included in the mix, he admitted he wasn't sure and asked another server. We received high end treatment and felt very welcome. It was the best experience and I can't wait to go back!

We went to Green Hills Grille after my granddaughter's graduation and enjoyed everything. The food was good. We had a big party and the service was good. The ambiance was good. They have relocated since the last time that we were there. The salmon dip was good, but, they changed the recipe.

I came here for my friends surprise engagement dinner and the staff was extremely kind, took care of us really well, and made the night very special for my friends. As for the food, I really enjoyed my Lemon Chicken. I expected it to be on the healthier side since the chicken is grilled but it ended up being smothered in creamy mashed potatoes. I can't complain though because it was delicious and I would definitely get it again!

We've been back several times since my last review and everything has been just right. Went there today for lunch. We were seated in a very nice booth. My wife had her usual; a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. Based on a servers recommendation last time we were there, I once again ordered the pork belly tacos. My wife's soup was delicious. They even brought her some saltine crackers, which she had requested. The tacos are absolutely the best I've had anywhere. Unfortunately they're not a regular menu item. It's currently showing as a special just for the month of August. Had a little snafu with the service, but she's new, still learning, and very sweet, so no harm done. However, that gave me the opportunity to speak with the owner and I expressed to him that I wish they would make the tacos a permanent menu item. He shared with us that they are opening a new restaurant in another part of town, and the tacos would be. He did not commit to do it here, but I sure hope so. Along with the three big tacos, you also get some delicious rice, and corn on the cob. Excellent!
